Mark: Didn’t speak for the first 3 months of school and after christmas break he screams every time he comes into class about how his life is so hard

Jaebum: got into a fight with the entire class about how cats are the future and humans are scum

Jackson: was trying to move in between chairs to get a paper from the teacher but was taking too long and screamed “i’m sorry my ass is too big i’m not as skinny as Chloe”

Jinyoung: a girl ripped out his headphones to tell him something and he later cut a inch of hair her off because of of that

Youngjae: Shared his badly made acapella rendition of Beyoncé’s Halo 28 times to the class

BamBam: wore steve madden sneakers to school and someone acidentally got paint on his shoes and he started screaming about how his shoes cost more then their college tuition

Yugyeom: tried to have a dance off with another classmate and tore his ACL because he tried to do a backflip during a basketball game. Which he had to get surgery for later.

Summary: This is how his life is supposed to be, and he wouldn't trade it - he wouldn't trade you - for the world.

A/N: I was trying to work on the 90s aesthetic HoseokxReader fic but real life feelings kept getting in the way so I needed to get them out somewhere...

The floorboards of the house creak under the weight of careful footsteps as Youngjae carries himself to bed. He knows you'd be fast asleep by now since you'd retreated to the bedroom hours ago, so he opens the door to your shared room carefully, flinching when the hinges squeaked. He anticipates you to stir immediately, knowing full well what you would say.

"I told you to go to bed ages ago, Jae. You can't keep spending all night in the studio practicing every day. You need to rest, too," he imagines you saying in your grumpy morning voice. But he breathes a sigh of relief when he hears your soft, steady breathing filling the otherwise quiet room.

Youngjae tiptoes softly to the other side of the room and strips down to his boxers, throwing his dirty clothes in the basket next to the armoire and pulling back the covers of your king size bed. He smiles down at you as you lay still in the middle of the bed, one arm resting carefully over your stomach while the other lies on the pillow just above your head. He slips into the warmth of the bed, lying on his side with his head propped up on his hand to observe you as you sleep.

Youngjae feels most at peace when he watches you sleep. He finds his breathing slowing to sync with your slow, deep breaths, watching as your chest rises and falls with each time you inhale and exhale. He finds serenity in your sleeping face, lips slightly parted due to the way your jaw naturally falls when at rest. His eyes linger on your lips, wanting nothing more than to kiss you. It takes almost all of his self-control not to kiss you, to refrain from cupping your plump cheeks and leaving kisses in a soft trail from cheek to cheek, from your forehead to your chin.

He's startled from his fantasies of loving on you when you suddenly roll over on your side, facing away from him. Taking this as an opportunity to get closer to you, he scoots over in the bed, pressing himself into your back and fitting his knees behind yours. He wraps an arm around you protectively and nuzzles his face into your neck to breathe in the scent of your shampoo. He thinks he's woken you up when you tug on his arm, pulling him closer to use his upper body like a blanket. He returns the gesture, pressing you into his bare chest from behind, to which you smile at in your dormant state.

"I love you, Jae," you mumble. Knowing full well you're still asleep and probably dreaming about him in some way, a smile spreads across his face, and his chest feels as if it's going to burst with all the love he feels for you. He can't help but tear up, thinking about how lucky he is to have someone like you by his side for the rest of his life. He hugs you tighter, pressing his lips to the crown of your head.

"I love you, too," he says in a barely audible whisper.

Life is scary. Growing up, owning a house, having kids, even the thought of getting married - these things scare Youngjae from time to time. But laying here with you in his arms makes it feel like the most natural thing to do; it makes him happy. Happy because it's just the two of you, and you belong together. He can't help but feel overwhelmed with joy knowing how perfect you are for him and how you're one of the few constants in his life that give him stability when it feels like the world is crashing down around him and for when he doesn't believe in himself anymore. This is how his life is supposed to be, and he wouldn't trade it - he wouldn't trade you - for the world.
