Synopsis :

As a young boy, Moo Hak grew up in the market as a peddler. Although he is ignorant, he is strong-willed and knows how to make money. He is now the managing director of Dondon F and B, a global restaurant chain that his family started as a small gamjatang diner. However, he isn't dignified and only cares about money. He meets Da Li, the only daughter and child of an upper-class family who runs an art gallery. She has a profound deep knowledge of things. She gets faced with bankruptcy due to her father's sudden death and begins a hard life. Moo Hak and Da Li start a relationship as a creditor and debtor over the art gallery. Will these two polar opposites understand each other and fall in love?

My thoughts on this drama :

This is your light, half comedy half drama show. The dreamer vs the businessman. Both are pretty young actors but they did a good job in this show. The theme was also pretty interesting (art, painting). It's a happy story with a happy ending. Not uch else to say about it.

Hospital Playlist

Sai perché i medici danno solo risposte vaghe come "Non possiamo ancora esserne sicuri", "Non lo sappiamo ancora" e "Dobbiamo osservare un po 'di più?" I medici devono assumersi la responsabilità delle loro parole, quindi dobbiamo stare attenti. C'è solo una cosa che noi medici possiamo dire con certezza ai nostri pazienti. "Faremo del nostro meglio."

Per una mia più sana organizzazione mentale ho deciso di alternare un drama su Netflix ed uno su Viki e dopo una “ponderata” scelta ossia scrivere i nomi su bigliettini e pescare a caso  è stato “scelto” questo drama. 

Metto le mani avanti dicendo subito che Hospital non mi ha fatto innamorare ma è indubbiamente una serie fatta bene. Regia, scenografia, cast, trama, dialoghi, capacità di muovere le emozioni dello spettatore, caratterizzazioni...

il realismo della serie nel mostrare la vita nell’ospedale è stata una delle questioni che più mi ha preso e che mi è piaciuta. 

La serie infatti sembra quasi un documentario sulla vita dei dottori in un policlinico, tra pazienti, parenti, interventi, turni massacranti, vita privata, colleghi e malattie. Purtroppo non sono una fan di tale genere di spettacolo - ossia quello in cui manca la trama orizzontale e ci si concentra più sulle singole storyline - tuttavia è un genere che vedo così poco spesso e Hospital è cosi fatto bene, che ho visto comunque la serie molto volentieri. 

Hospital si concentra sulla vita di 5 chirurghi ognuno specializzato in un settore, legati tra loro sia dall’amore per il proprio lavoro sia dall’ amicizia reciproca. Ed è proprio il legame tra queste persone a fare da sfondo e allo stesso tempo ad essere colonna portante della storia. Per inciso: ci sono un sacco di bromance. 😂😍

Cosa strana è stata il fatto che la serie si concentra su dottori già affermati. Infatti le uniche due serie medical che avevo già visto - occidentali - raccontavano le vicende degli specializzandi permettendo così allo spettatore di crescere e conoscere insieme a loro. In Hospital i protagonisti sono già “grandi” ma ciò non toglie che “non si smette mai di crescere” e che sia possibile visionare la storia anche su altre prospettive.

Altra cosa che ho apprezzato è stata la capacità della serie di emozionarmi e commuovermi anche per le cose che sembrano più scontate ma che alla fine sembrano quasi poetiche. 

Detta così sembra che Hospital sia una serie drammatica ma in realtà nasconde un sacco di scene molto divertenti e spassose: merito dei 5 ragazzi, specializzandi o pazienti che involontariamente regalano spesso perle di simpatia. In fondo quindi questo drama mixa molto bene più generi. 🙂

Le OST sono ovviamente tutte bellissime e alcune sono già state scaricate poichè perfette per la scena che sta andando in onda. Tranne una che accidenti a Spotify  che non me la trova!😠

Plauso enorme per il cast. E” disonore! Disonore su tutta la tua famiglia! Disonore su di te, disonore sulla tua mucca!” mi urlerebbe giustamente Mushu per non aver riconosciuto l’attore di Gu Dong-Mae in Mr Sunshine e che qui interpreta Ahn Jeong-Won. Come non ho riconosciuto l’attrice della dottoressa  Jang Gyeo-Wool che avevo già visto in Argon. 

Comunque sia, apparte il disonore, il cast è stato davvero bravo e convincente. 

Conclusione: Drama da vedere anche se non si è appassionati di Medical che condensa in solo 12 episodi un mondo - ospedaliero - realistico con momenti di commozione e altri più leggeri. Impossibile non affezionarsi ai personaggi data la loro ben fatta costruzione e le belle relazioni che li legano. 

VOTO: 8 -

Dove la serie rimane realistica è anche nelle relazioni d’amore. Ce ne sono tante ed anche se sono poche quelle che mi hanno colpito, tutte sono permeate da un senso di credibilità.

Solo nelle favole o nei drama ci viene assicurato l’happy ending romantico. Nella vita vera è molto più difficile: il ginecologo Yang Seok-Hyeong  non finisce con la bella e coraggiosissima specializzanda ma comprensibilmente preferisce stare da solo. Il neo capo degli specializzandi di neurochirurgia si becca una friendzone spettacolare e persino allo tsundere primario di cardiochirurgia Kim Jun-Wan Cupido non sembra sorridere. E va bene così. 

Fortunatamente ci pensa il dolcissimo pediatra chirurgico Andrea ha darci la parte romantica, con la ship per me più carina dell’intera serie. Ahn Jeong-Won e  Jang Gyeo-Wool sono così adorabili.😍  Immagino che Mamma Rosa non è presente nell’ultimo episodio perchè impegnata a prenotare la Chiesa per le Nozze. 😐

Non mi ha emozionato per nulla invece la storia d’amore tra Kim Jun Wan e la sorella del Dottor Lee poichè credo che lei sia stata poco approfondita. Inoltre le scene in cui erano loro due da soli sono state troppo poche perchè io potessi davvero sentire questa coppia. 

Mi ha incuriosito la storia del Dottor Lee con la lead anche solo per sapere cosa pensi lei di tutto questo. Vi giuro che ho avuto difficoltà a capire cosa provi lei per il dottor Lee. 

Ho inoltre apprezzato che la serie menzionasse anche il lavoro degli infermieri - inestimabile - , i dubbi e le insicurezze degli specializzandi o le caratteristiche anche egoistiche dei pazienti. 

Ci sono stati tanti momenti che mi hanno commosso questa serie ammazza bambini come fossero aria ma quelli che mi sono rimasti più in testa sono due:

1) il padre della ragazza che voleva donare il fegato alla figlia ma che non poteva per via della sua salute. 

2) Lo specializzando di cardiochirurgia Do Jae-Hak  - il mio eroe - che viene ringraziato dal paziente per non essersi arreso con lui ed avergli salvato la vita. Se ci penso ancora mi commuovo. 

I personaggi della serie sono tanti e menzionarli tutti sarebbe troppo complesso. Tuttavia se ne devo scegliere alcuni che mi sono piaciuti di più inserirei:

1) Andrea ( perchè è dolcissimo )

2) Dottor Lee  Ik-Joon perchè quest’uomo si intrufola negli altri reparti??!!  😂

3)  Lo specializzando Do Jae-Hak perchè è uno scemo terribile ma ci tiene tantissimo ai pazienti. Bonus per la sua relazione con il suo Capo perchè insieme sono meravigliosi 😍😂

4) La specializzanda che va dietro ad Andrea perchè capisce quali siano i suoi limiti e si impegna - anche con i disegnini - per superarli e migliorare sempre.

5) Il ginecologo Yang Seok-Hyeong perchè sa essere così calmo, deciso e affascinante quando è a lavoro ma diviene irriconoscibile appena messo piede fuori dall’ospedale.

Dali and Cocky Prince

I was curious to watch this drama, but I had no idea what a treat I was in for! The story captures you from the first moment and things are happening organically but also realistically. No unnecessary drama and all the right moves. Simply delightful and enjoyable!

I absolutely adored the outfits, shoutout to whoever was in charge of the wardrobe because they killed it. The chemistry between the leads was also amazing. I had butterflies during the entire show.

Dali’s innocence was rightly portrayed, but not overexploited as sometimes in the past it was done to make the main character likeable and vulnerable. She learned the ways of the world, and never compromised her values or beliefs. 

I also really like Moo Hak’s character. The realistic amount of “money matters but is not everything”. The changes Dali induced in him were also observable as the series developed. The current korean views on “old” and “new” money are interesting, since Asian countries in specific pay a lot of attention to this.

I have never met such a second male lead! At first I was just upset because he had knowingly hurt Dali and just expecteed he could win her back whenever he wanted. As the show progressed and his real colors were shown, I was just surprised at how manipulative he was. He never saw Dali as his equal but as a piece he could move in his game. I have seen the actor before and he does really good “evil” characters.

The interactions between Dali and Moo Hak (between all the characters actually) were funny and well-paced. They were from opposite worlds but were able to “inject” the right amount of themselves into the other one, thus making the “bringing out the best in each other” a reality. That is what made them a good couple. They really played with my feelings at the end of the show by the way! Jerks hahahaha.

enroscada em um cobertor no sofá, encarando a caneca repleta de café que esfriava sobre a mesa e um livro sobre o colo que não havia tocado em meia hora, a mulher descrevia com exatidão a imagem que se possuía de alguém com ‘cara de poucos amigos’. estando no apartamento do namorado, somente na companhia do gato deste desde a sua chegada no local e a subsequente ida de yoengjae para o chuveiro antes de acompanhá-la na sala, estava com mais tempo disponível do que o recomendável para ocupar o próprio tempo refletindo sobre questões que não poderia resolver, mas que não a deixavam de tirar a paz. que hyena estava irritadiça nos últimos dias não deveria ser novidade para ninguém com quem ela estivesse dividindo o mínimo de convivência, entretanto, os momentos somente com os pensamentos a levavam a considerar que talvez seus problemas possuíam vínculos muito mais complexos com os tais âmbitos mais fixos de sua vida e que não considerava anteriormente sobre algo em que gostaria de dar um enfoque em sua mente. não quando somente ponderar sobre as questões que os envolviam traria-os a tona de maneiras que não desejava, e que sequer sabia se estava pronta para lidar. a go compreendia pouco a pouco que a própria insatisfação com os dias que se passavam e com a maneira que levava sua vida, talvez, estivesse mais enraizada em áreas que anteriormente não desejava pensar, e que talvez ter uma solução não fosse tão simples. e genuinamente odiava que ideias como essa começassem a rondar sua mente, pois somente a mera consideração delas era o suficiente para apertar seu coração.

não possuía uma média exata de quantas palavras haviam sido direcionadas a si por yoengjae quando o mesmo apareceu para que ficassem juntos, distraída com sua própria angústia, até que se encontrava dando as respostas menos interessadas possíveis que poderia pronunciar - ‘ah, e eu sei lá, yoengjae’ e ‘ah, que legal’ - para um assunto que sequer era capaz de afirmar do que se tratava - comentários com relação ao seu dia, talvez? uma história? ou apenas uma pergunta sobre a janta? - e retornando em sequência para seu próprio mundo. isto é, até que sua audição captou a sentença em tom baixo que deixou os lábios do mais novo ao se dar conta da perceptível ausência de interesse da namorada em conversar, e no instante se deu conta do que estava fazendo. por deus, como poderia estar realmente realizando algo assim novamente? se recordava de momentos semelhantes nos últimos dias, com seu desinteresse às vezes misturando-se com palavras irritadas após o que enxergava como um dia difícil, e lhe doía a percepção de que estava genuinamente começando a afetá-lo com seu problema; que não estivesse sendo capaz de guardá-lo somente para si. o hak não estava fazendo nada, só estava tentando cumprir o seu papel de tantos anos como um namorado bom, interessado e presente, e… lá estava hyena, praticamente desejando que o namorado saísse dali para continuar sozinha com as angústias e contradições de sua mente. ainda que não possuísse os melhores motivos para tal, não evitou o tom de mágoa em sua voz ao questioná-lo: “como você pode dizer isso?” 

engolindo em seco, maneou a cabeça como se tentando eliminar o que acabara de ser dito; não iria dar realmente ajuda alguma para melhorar a situação em que se encontravam e, por mais que não tivesse a menor intenção de admitir aquilo, conseguia enxergar de onde ele estava tirando tal questionamento. e, no fim, o que mais lhe doía era nem sequer estar clara o suficiente sobre seus sentimentos e desejos em relação ao próprio futuro para lhe oferecer uma resposta concreta do contrário. talvez o problema fosse somente ela e deveria estar resolvendo suas questões sem permitir que o namorado fosse afetado pelas incertezas que a rondavam, mas uma parte de si não a deixava esquecer que, no fim, talvez jae viesse a se apresentar como um dos fatores que não estava certa de serem o caminho certo para sua vida. “jae, eu… me desculpa. eu não estou sendo uma boa namorada, e não é só hoje, e…” a go pausou, buscando o olhar do hak ao aproximar-se mais dele. “esses dias eu não ando me sentindo muito bem e acabo sendo relapsa por isso. anda sendo meio difícil no trabalho. de verdade, eu odeio ter feito você acabar sofrendo por causa disso também. não era a minha intenção, e… isso vai passar, não sei quando, mas vai. não tem nada a ver com você, ok, amor? é só estresse em geral. me desculpa por ter te feito pensar isso, era a última coisa que eu desejava.” acariciando a face do namorado, se inclinou para encostar seus lábios brevemente nos dele, antes de deitar-se em seu ombro. a verdade era que, por mais que estivesse sendo honesta sobre não desejar que aquilo acabasse caindo sobre ele, a go não possuía coragem para deixá-lo saber que a situação talvez realmente estivesse relacionada mais ao relacionamento de ambos do que pretendia admitir para si mesma.

My Review of Korean Drama Dali and the Cocky Prince

Dali and The Cocky Prince is a Korean drama about an art curator Kim Da Li who falls in love with a businessman called Jin Moo Hak. Da Li takes over the Cheongsong Art Gallery after her father’s death and learns she owes a large sum of money to Moo Hak. They met before while they were abroad and were attracted to one another despite their personalities being polar opposites. Da Li loves to study art and is from an upper class family while Moo Hak is ignorant and a self-made businessman. Even with their new relationship of being creditor and debtor they find they are still very attracted to one another. Moo Hak decides to do all he can to help Da Li make her gallery a success and they fall in love. Dali and the Cocky Prince has a happy ending and stars Park Gyu Young as Kim Da Li and Kim Min Jae as Jin Moo Hak.
