And then some tinkering here and some sparkles and glitter glue there.. and boom. I made this. Also ignore bros legs I didn't know what I was doing.

Here's a au I've had in my head for a while

A Homestuck au called: monsterstuck

Basically some of the characters will be monsters and some will still be humans or trolls

Wow, I got to answering this SO LATE and I'm SO SORRY DX

But I appreciate the love everyone gives my Dadbert stuff, it makes me so so happy qwq ✨️💖💕

Now for some brain worms! Some of this au I worked on with a friend and those talks definitely became a lot of my hcs too , so !! I'll try my best to articulate!

First and foremost, Lambert survives Duscur and I know in some of my art he has an eyepatch and some don't-- and I'm up in the air about that bit. But what he does have is a gnarly scar around his neck from where they had tried to cut his head off but they missed.

When it comes to Dedue and the like, I'm still trying to work on that -- because I know his people were attacked some time after the Tragedy and seeing how Lambert survived -- I think it would still happen and Dedue would be taken under Lambert's care ( because Dimitri still wound up hurt from protecting Dedue ) but it'll still get too complicated if I try to explain it here so we'll leave it at that for now.

The AU more-or-less follows the Hopes timeline instead of 3H ( the politics in Hopes were better explained and a little easier to follow than 3Houses )

Lambert, here is the one to execute Rufus instead, especially after he finds out his brother's involvement. Their relationship to me was always cold , especially as they got older ( at one point, they did get along, but once Rufus learned he was not to be named heir , he started treating Lambert coldly and Lambert kept reaching out but eventually let the bridge burn once he realized Rufus had no intention on reaching back ). Like Dimitri did , Lambert did show hesitancy in executing Rufus but it didn't last long -- because at this point , Lambert began to harden his heart-- not for himself but for his kingdom and for the safety of his son.

It hit him hard when he learned of Anselma's involvement as well, and after that, he swore off love and never took on another spouse. He puts raising his son first as well as maintaining his Kingdom.

He and Dimitri definitely are, of course, traumatized from the ordeal -- and Lambert more so, becoming quite a bit paranoid and protective of his son , not wanting Dimitri out of his sights for a time. Dimitri himself becomes a little more clingy , which can't be faulted , as he nearly lost his father. Eventually, they come out of it, and Lambert allows Dimitri more freedoms again ( especially after dealing with Rufus ) and Dimitri, likewise, eases away from being dependent on his father and focuses on his training again.

In the first few months after the Tragedy and dealing with Keilman, Dimitri used to sleep in Lambert's room because of the frequent nightmares that plagued him ( Lambert too was plagued with them and it eased his conscious better when he knew his son was with him ) after some time passed , Dimitri stopped sleeping in Lambert's room as he got older ( closer to Academy age ) but when he did have nightmares still , he'd go but instead of asking to sleep there -- the two of them would have tea and talk about the nightmares and work through it together, sometimes Dimitri ends up falling asleep there but most of the time, when he feels better and confident enough -- he would go back to his room.

Just aaaahh there's a lot more and i don't want to make this too long but !! That's what I got!

anyways dadbert AU (alpha kid dad instead of nanna) continuation in beyond canon... ruby is raised by jean/dad instead of being enrolled at the academy! these two have the best father-daughter relationship ever, where ruby becomes a prankster and a baking enthusiast :'') ruby doesn't have a good relationship with her mothers though, they feel like they were abandoned by jade and rose, seeing as how she just got dropped off at jean's and she's been kept in the dark unlike the rest of the omega kids

to your 1st question- since dæmons are like extensions of the soul, and byers/the lusii have like different places in the plot already, they’re pretty much the same. i think twins (like the soleils) would share a dæmon tho

since dæmons settling is used as analogous for growing up/sort of also puberty? june’s dæmon wouldn’t settle until dadbert dies. dave and jade’s both would already be settled when they start the game, and rose’s would settle once she started communing with the horrorterrors. also when it came to naming them, i wanted their dæmons to have like. normal names ig. since the beta kids are the normalist homestuck characters.

since there are fifty billion beta trolls ill speed through the thought processes i had. karkat’s dæmon settles last bc hes in a state of arrested development. like act 6 last. aradia doesn’t have a dæmon anymore bc she died before entering the game :( (ALSO IT IS NOT THANOS AS IN THE MARVEL CHARACTER) uhhh pretend kanaya’s dæmon says f, tavros is so newfoundland dæmon coded, gamzee is a badger bc they are really unassuming looking but are like a genuine threat, etc etc

oh also vriska is a hyena bc she is *so* hyena coded, id say more than she is spider coded. spiders are associated often with like. manipulation, and vriska just… isn’t that manipulative. she’s pretty straight-forward actually. it’s like that one post about orc stealth. she gets ppl to do what she wants bc she’s like genuinely physically stronger and also has mind control. mind control on its own doesn’t really count as manipulation. the only really spiderlike things about her are her thing with eights and her mom. sure she’s clever, but not in a manipulative way. really, she’s mostly an opportunist. hyenas often symbolize treachery, and in some arab folklore they can hypnotize humans. anyways hyena vriska truther.

ALPHA KIDS

jane has specifically an aesculapius snake, bc of their associations w/ healing. she hangs out on janes spoon/forkkind to mimic the rod of asclepius and also sort of the caduceus. she def settled last. idk what to say w/ jake, hes just very much a guy who’d have a spider monkey dæmon. dirk is a borzoi bc he is shaped like one (fig 1) and cain bc bro strider and also how he views his splinters and even the other alphas and auoohj yeah. anyways roxy is so lion. and his name is bc void is very much about creation and bc it’s parallel is light they both have such strong associations with knowledge!!!! they’re so!!!!

ok ok ok so ik in the post i said joey’s dæmon is nike but kore just fits her better i think esp bc of her mommy issues. uhh i think joey would be sort of upset that her dæmon is a brown bear and not like a swan or something, but she represents like joey’s defensive streak i think. also mommy issues. jude is an eagle bc of their associations with knowledge and also bc of the myth of prometheus (jude is sosososososososo prometheus coded btw) xefros is a sloth. i don’t need to say more. dammek is a tomcat, probably a tuxedo.

(You can’t tell me that Dadbert wouldn’t adopt a thousand year old war criminal that needed a good dad role model in their life. She loves him and he loves her, and for years they get along as father and daughter. )

June is so inspired by him. She wants to be someone’s parent, she wants to give someone that love. So she gets gregnant, but instead of the sideways tango, it’s through a sperm bank.(I’m not making Dadbert the biological dad, I’m sorry but that’s creepy no matter which way you dice it)

She asks him to take care of her child, and he happily agrees.

The other alphas and betas are either meeting up or is already at a rendezvous point to be taken to Jade's island.

The people currently at that point is Jade, Rose, and Roxy. When the outbreak hit Jane went to Washington to meet up with John and Dadbert and those three would be traveling to the meetup point together.

Prospit Royalty:

Puppet King Scratch; hes the regent ruling prospit following the death of dadbert

John (18), Jane (26) are born and raised royalty

Jade (17) is recently restored to the bloodline; she was in a carriage crash that killed John and Jane’s dad (jade was 7). shes been raised by werewolves (in order to save her, they turned her into one)... Like tarzan shes finally old enough to brave “human” society, finds that she’s the missing princess. Shes been back for a year ish. the carriage crash was orchestrated by lord english (they're fleeing a peasant revolt and she supposedly died princess Diana style)

Jake (27) is nobility arranged to marry Jane (which makes dirkjake soooo juicy)

Jane is Princess Apparent (second in line to throne)

Prospit curia regis ("king's court"):

Kankri (30) & Karkat Vantas (19). Kankri: social legislator. In charge of social welfare and integration between trolls and humans/magical beings. Karkat: wants to be royal executioner, supposed to take in Kankri’s footsteps (his dad or older brother)

Very zealous about the government… until he meets dave.

Don't ask why (bc idk either) but I've thought really hard about what the guardians dæmons would be in a dæmon au and I'm about half way there. Dadbert's dæmon would be a lioness because they're both prominent examples of good parenting but in ways outside typical human gender norms, and Bro's would a poisonous snake because he looks cool but he's actually incredibly dangerous and toxic. Also, natural enemy of birds.

The dæmon AU's the one where people have little critter companions that reflect their souls, right?
