Anti-Rederina fans have a hard time grasping the concept of living in two identities. If Red isn’t the real Red, which they’ve already confirmed he’s not, then he’d speak from two different perspectives. Those perspectives being that of the real Raymond, and that of his original identity - Katarina. The very reason I tell fans just how important it is to consider what perspective he’s speaking from at all times. At ALL times. For instance... while speaking to a federal agent, it would be wise for Red to speak as the real Raymond so as not to inform said federal agent that he’s an imposter. So when he’s talking to Aram over an open grave, he’d speak of the real Raymond’s mother rather than his own. Expect Katarina’s mother to be alive - until she dies of cancer. While speaking of the Takoma Park house, expect him to speak from both perspectives - Raymond and Katarina. When Katarina hid her daughter with Sam, it would be wise to know why she chose him to begin with. “You have to leave Masha with someone unconnected, who I can trust.” Ivan Stepanov is connected, considering he was Katarina's handler. THIS would be the very reason he'd threaten Elizabeth Keen. Because he has no idea that she’s Masha Rostova until he actually sees her face-to-face. Until he actually sees her, she’s a random woman risking their business. 

It’s not my fault fans can’t differentiate the clues. Can’t see when they’ve introduced an imposter Katarina, pulled a fake reveal like Red is Ilya, or somehow fail to see how Rederina fits the entire series. Rederina fits EVERY clue in the show, no matter how many fans claim it doesn’t. I know it does because after 5x22 aired, I rewatched the series for the sake of it. Everything I saw aligned with Rederina... and everything following season 5 continued to align with it. That’s why I haven’t been wrong about Red and Katarina since then. I told fans Red isn’t Ilya, and that Tatiana wasn’t Katarina. Do not blame me because I chose to follow a theory that fit. I follow the only theory the writers gave me. The moment they removed Red as the father, there was only one theory left. Not my fault fans are angry because season after season, the writers continued dismantling their theories. Perhaps those fans wouldn’t be so angry had they fallen in line with the Rederina theory rather than spent 5+ seasons trying to debunk it. There’s nothing left to do with Lizzington but laugh my ass off at their posts because they have nothing left to fight with. Same with Daddygate, third man, etc. 

It’s not my fault fans can’t move their puzzle pieces around because they only see them one way. It’s not my fault fans can’t reason beyond what they’re used to, are limited by their own belief that clues can only be interpreted one way.

When Red was talking to Ressler in the box in 1x9, he was speaking with intent. What he wanted in that moment required the use of “boy” rather than “child” because it wasn’t for him. Red wanted Ressler to see, to feel, to want “one more” for himself. He was painting a picture, and when painting a picture, details matter. Not just any horses or any number of horses, but exactly 10 race horses. Not just any cigar, but Cubans. Not just a set of sheets, but a cool set of sheets. Not just a child, but a boy. 

Ressler: We’re not gonna live through this. Red: I think we will. Ressler: How?

Red wanted Ressler to imagine himself sleeping like he slept when he was a boy. And he wanted this for the sake of giving Ressler hope. Giving him hope in response to Ressler’s own comment. That’s why he chose to refer to himself as a boy. Because it was for Ressler. That’s why Ressler is shown staring as he does and crying. He’s imagining these things for himself... as Red painted this very picture FOR him.  

These are things fans need to consider. It’s all perspective. Stop viewing things one way - your way - because they don’t fit your theory. Perhaps then you’ll stop posting idiotic arguments.

Involuntarily, but the VaultGhoul popularity recently has reactivated some interest in the pairing it reminds me of. I uh. even rewatched a couple episodes of The Blacklist tonight.

apologies in advance if i start ranting about. Things. Timelines. Fake Names. Teacher Timmy. Daddygate. etc, it's just that the Jo(h)ns managed to make Chris Carter look like a plotting genius by comparison. They had an incredible premise and James Spader and they did That..... the wasted potential haunts me

It was nice to see you back on reddit recently. Do you believe the "hallucination" theory that has become popular on there or do you accept what we saw in Nachalo is true but that it doesn't confirm Redarina? It gets frustrating in that group since half the users claim Redarina is totally proven while the other half dismiss it all and still say he is her dad.

I won't pretend to know anything more than the broad highlights of the non-Redarina "theories" going around on Reddit at the moment as I largely try to avoid the theory posts. But from what I understand of the "hallucination" theory, no - I don't subscribe to the idea that all of Nachalo/Konets (or even more of the back part of S8 post-Misere) was some giant hallucination on the part of a brain-damaged Liz. Nor do I subscribe to the idea that there were two Katarinas (left handed/right handed or whatever) who both considered themselves Dom's daughter or that our Red is the original RR and Liz's father who somehow survived the fire.

Are there aspects of Nachalo where Liz may have misinterpreted the story being told or twisted it into what she wanted to hear? Certainly. The whole scene put Liz in a trance-like state and when the sounds of the bunker start to creep in around the edges of her consciousness, Red has to remind her to "stay with the story.” On balance, as with Rassvet, I assume that the majority of what we saw was true even if it was not necessarily the complete truth. I accept that Nachalo/Konets gave us some answers - most specifically that Katarina Rostova was responsible for "creating" the man we know today as Red and inserting him into her daughter's life. However, I do not accept that 8.21/8.22 established definitively that she herself became Red. That is a conclusion that I still find impossible to reconcile with everything else that we were shown and told over the eight seasons prior to 8.21. Time will tell whether they revisit the issue or not and I guess we'll have our answer - or not (!) - by the time the series ends. With Liz gone, the only people who might conceivably care are Ressler and Cooper (and Agnes, I suppose if they continue to feed her rapid aging potion and make her a legal adult by the time they get to season 10). Dembe presumably already knows, which makes his present estrangement from Red that much more intriguing.

There used to be a decent contingent of "third man" theorists on Reddit but it seems that the majority have either accepted Redarina or given up. Personally, I'm not yet willing to overlook the huge holes and inconsistencies and fall on the Redarina sword.

So the basic story is: 

Russian spy chick does screwed up crap that has everyone hunting her. The best thing she can do to protect the only person she cares about is die.

She hatches a plan to die but come back as someone else. She takes a name and builds it into a legend. Crafts an almost entirely new identity, even from the man whose name it was. Builds an empire. Sees an opportunity to get close to the only person she cares about. Takes it. Big mistake. 

‘She’ ends up having to kill a bunch of people who get too close to the truth; she can’t let anyone know her secret. She misleads and withholds and does a bunch of messed up stuff just to keep that secret. It ultimately doesn’t work out and the only person she cares about gets super messed up and then dies anyway. 

Well then. 

I maintain that the ending was supposed to be: ‘She dies, Liz learns the truth and takes her place.’ So after eight years they didn’t even get to do what they wanted, and the network is probably going to change things.

Tansi Farms is a double grave. That's why I was 100% Rederina since their reveal in 5x22. They revealed Rederina just by revealing the identity of the bones in the suitcase because the double grave itself is trans... Raymond's body, Katarina's headstone.

That's why I wasn't wrong with any reveal after that. I knew Frank was Ilya. I knew Katarina was an imposter. When fans got their first whiff of a female Katarina being in show, they celebrated the demise of the Rederina theory. I warned them.

I got criticized for believing in the theory. Was pressured to follow other theories. Daddygate fans fought tooth and nail despite my warnings. "I told you so" is a great tasting Kool-Aid, and I have plenty of sugar.
