Day 6: Kunikida once pulled up a nature documentary about crabs to distract Dazai - Kuni can work while Dazai is enthralled. This is now the 4th time in a week Dazai has commandeered his computer to re-watch it...

Day 9: Dazai exhibits cat-like behaviors. Kunikida finds them equally adorable & infuriating. Dazai knocking his pens off the desk? Ughhhh... Dazai arching his back as he stretches, & then curling up in the sunspot on his couch? ...cute...

Day 17: Kunikida pays close attention to Dazai on days where he rambles a bit too much, as if he's silently asking for distraction. If listening to a rant about the lack of longevity in octopus' means Dazai can distract himself from harmful thoughts? Worth it.

Day 7: Dazai was very diverted over wearing the plaque that said he was naughty. Kunikida realized this was partly due to Dazai not having a normal childhood & being treated bad. He does it more often now, & Dazai gets a kick out of it every time.

Day 5: Kunikida always knows when Dazai is fake-sleeping on the Agency's couch. He also knows the man suffers from insomnia, & leaves him be. Sometimes he drops a blanket over him & keeps walking, as if nothing happened - Dazai sleeps after that.

Day 11: Dazai is skittish about touch, but also touch starved. It drives him to annoy Kunikida so he gets grabbed, slammed around, & man handled (it's hot, too...) Gentle touch is foreign to him. Kunikida found this out when a gentle hug made Dazai pass out...

Hi anon! Omg absolutely 🥺 Those are some of my favorite hcs anyway!! I have many that plan to post, but here are a couple right now:

Dazai wasn't allowed to eat sweets as a child and therefore didn't develop much of a craving for them. (Except mochi ice cream, he loved that even when he met Oda.) Alcohol messed up his taste buds, but Kunikida very slowly started weaning him off of alcohol and onto sugar. It was gradual, replacing drinks and giving small sweets, so Dazai barely noticed at first. The more he ate Kunikida's good cooking, and the less junk he ate, the more his taste buds healed. He adores pancakes with pure childlike wonder - he swears they taste better if they're shaped like fish or stars instead of just round.

Dazai giggles around Kunikida. He never giggled as a child, let alone a teenager. He laughed, sometimes, but never genuinely and playfully giggled, until being in a relationship with Kunikida. Kunikida heard Dazai giggling to himself while playing with his sea creature plushies when he thought Kunikida was busy in the kitchen. Kunikida filmed him, because it was so precious.

Dazai adores soft things. Give him a very soft plush, and he will run his fingers over it and through it and hug it and rub it against his cheek for at least an hour. It feels amazing on his skin, and he delights in the sensation. Kunikida couldn't fathom having a childhood deprived of even the basics, such a soft clothes or toys, especially someone from a wealthy background, but such was the lot of his boyfriend. Kunikida makes sure to always have someone soft on hand if Dazai gets fidgety. It distracts him and calms him.

dazai is always sneaking up on kunikida at work and giving him kisses and hugs just to fluster and mess with him. one day kunikida catches dazai off guard at work by kissing him on the cheek and dazai gets so absolutely surprised and flustered and blushes so hard

DO WE SHARE THE SAME BRAINCELL??? I literally had a post planned for something like this 😂 This is SO KnkDz. Dazai's need to be an adorable little bastard and annoy Kunikida with affection is so dear to my heart... but Dazai's touch-starvation means any act of affection done back at him leaves him in a puddle (like that wan with Atsushi and the flowers.) Gah I love this mental image. I need someone to draw it.

Day 8: Dazai doesn't like the night - he has insomnia & nightmares. But once he starts (literally) sleeping with Kunikida, it starts to get easier. Kunikida's strong arms wrapped around him, his gentle even breathing... it's so comforting & safe.

Day 18: Dazai is not a morning person. But Kunikida is - he gets up at ass o'clock in the morning to do yoga & eat fruit. Dazai refused to get up at first, but now he likes to peek through the covers and watch Kunikida's yoga routine...

Day 12: During a serious talk about touch, Dazai eventually admitted he liked when Kunikida touched him - it made him feel safe & "warm". (Dazai called happiness "warm" because of how it felt. His childish observations made Kunikida feel protective).

Day 3: Kunikida brings extra food to work, because he knows Dazai doesn't bring food for himself. He acts annoyed, when Dazai steals from him, but is secretly proud, because his plan worked - he got that skinny bastard to eat after all.

Day 4: Once, in Cafe Uzumaki, Kunikida fed Dazai some of his lunch with his chopsticks, without thinking, being too engrossed in reading a case file. Dazai loved it. Kunikida was embarassed. Dazai now tries to get him to do it again, on purpose.

Day 10: Dazai has a lot of sensory issues, including sensitive skin. Perfumes, specific dyes, fabric softeners... they irritate & burn. He doesn't realize he has skin sensitivities until a (horrified) Kunikida eventually figures it out.
