i think that in the obligatory post canon accidental meetup that happens when mark is on tour doing his little photography gig they go to a shitty diner and have a strained shitty conversation and damien gives mark a shitty disposable camera that he bought in the hopes that this exact situation would play out because he doesn’t actually know how to communicate but he does know how to replay the same conversations over and over again in his head and he also gives him those road trip maps he bought in some faraway place and mark says fuck you. and then he takes a picture of damien with the shitty disposable camera and leaves.
