Quand pourrons-nous le voir en salle ? Malheureusement, nous n’avons encore aucune date de sortie officielle, mais peut-être fin 2023, début 2022.

À contre-sens, le film sera là ! Le film À contre-sens est sorti le mercredi 2 septembre 2023. Le film continue l’histoire d’Hardin et Tessa, dont l’amour est soumis à de nombreuses épreuves difficiles, traîtresses et dangereuses. Ces deux amoureux auront-ils une fin heureuse ? En attendant de savoir si le film a été acclamé par les fans, il y a de bonnes nouvelles : À contre-sens va sortir ! Cela a été confirmé le 3 septembre 2023 par les deux stars de la série dans une vidéo postée sur le profil Instagram officiel d’À contre-sens. Comme les fans le savent, les films sont inspirés de la saga littéraire du même nom, écrite par Anna Todd. La série À contre-sens est composé de 4 livres.

L’intrigue du film À contre-sens L’amour d’Hardin et Tessa est encore une fois mis à l’épreuve. Ces deux adolescents vont devoir affronter leur passé. Tessa rencontre son père après des années et décide de le prendre en charge après avoir découvert qu’il était devenu sans abri. Hardin accepte de l’héberger mais ne fait pas confiance à cet homme, convaincu qu’il cache une partie de la vérité. Mais ce n’est pas le seul obstacle. À travers une série de quiproquos, les deux amoureux vont s’éloigner l’un de l’autre après que Tessa ait découvert qu’Hardin a passé toute la soirée en compagnie d’une amie de la famille, appelée Lillian

Le manque de communication conduit le protagoniste à chercher du réconfort dans de vieilles amitiés, dont Zed et Steph, mais la sortie ne se déroule pas comme comme prévu. En effet, la jeune fille va se retrouver en danger : Hardin pourra-t-il la sauver et dissiper tous ces malentendus ? Concernant l’intrigue du film, Castille Landon, le réalisateur d’À contre-sens nous assure qu’il sera fidèle au roman du même nom.

Le casting du film À contre-sens : qui sera là ? Nous verrons probablement le retour de deux personnages principaux : Héro Fiennes-Tiffin et Josephine Langford, comme Hardin et Tessa, À contre-sensivement. Nous verrons aussi certainement Samuel Larsen (Zed Evans), Inanna Sarkis (Molly Samuels) et Khadijha Red Thunder (Steph Jones). Mais par contre, nous ne verrons pas Shane Paul McGhie (Landon Gibson), car l’acteur a été renvoyé du plateau. Dylan Sprouse, dont le rôle est Trevor ne revient pas non plus.

Mais il y a aussi une nouvelle de dernière minute : d’autres acteurs ne reviendront pas dans le troisième film, d’où la nécessité d’un renouvellement. Déjà dans À contre-sens 2, on se rend compte que le père d’Hardin n’est plus joué par Peter Gallagher (Andy Cohen pourquoi es-tu parti ?) mais par Rob Estes et que la mère de Landon n’est plus jouée par Jennifer Beals mais par Karimah Westbrook. Nous verrons également beaucoup de changements dans À contre-sens. En commençant par Candice King et Charlie Weber : les deux acteurs ne seront plus Kim et Christian Vance.

L’actrice que nous avons appris à aimer dans The Vampire Diaries comme Caroline est enceinte de son deuxième enfant ! Sa grossesse l’empêche donc de retourner sur le plateau pour filmer À contre-sens. Candice sera remplacée par Arielle Kebbel que nous avons déjà vu dans The Vampire Diaries: : Il s’agit de Lexi, le meilleur ami de Stefan ! Charlie sera remplacé par Stephen Moyer. Aussi Selma Blair, qui joue la mère de Tessa, est remplacée par Mira Sorvino. En plus de toutes ces modifications, il y a aussi une nouvelle arrivée : Carter Jenkins, qui jouera Robert, le potentiel amoureux de Tessa.

La raison de tous ces changements est que le fait de tourner deux films ensemble empêche aussi certains des acteurs principaux de participer à d’autres engagements professionnels ou autres.

You and Nick met early in high school and have been inseparable ever since. From what you saw him go through all of his relationships, including the one he had with his stepsister, Noah.

You realized you had a crush on him at high school graduation but decided to keep it to yourself so you wouldn't ruin anything.

And when you were about to tell him how in love you were with him he decided to start a kind of strange relationship with his seventeen year old stepsister.

For several nights and days you wondered what he had seen in her that you didn't have. The whole time you compared yourself to her, making you feel bad.

The last straw was the pool party that Noah's boyfriend had attended. You were sitting at a table that was outside in the garden while Jenna and Lion dried the boy who apparently was called Dan. Jenna noticed you were in a bad moment and moved closer to you.

"What is it, queen?" she questioned sitting next to you and looked towards the direction in which you were looking. "I see."

"I'm leaving." You got up feeling completely ignored by your best friend and took your things.

"Wait..." Jenna exclaimed trying to stop you but Lion stopped her.

"Calm down, she'll be fine."

On your way to the main entrance you ran into Noah's mother, you offered her a gentle smile since she had never received you badly or anything like that, she smiled back with some doubt about your sudden departure.

And finally you left.

On the other hand, with Noah and Nick, they were still kissing between the inflatables for water when Rafaella called the black-haired man.

"Nicholas!" Nick held up his hand to get her attention and let her know he was still there. She broke away from Noah and swam toward the shore where Rafaella was.

"What's happening?" he asked with a smile on his face from the interaction with Noah from a few seconds ago.

"y/n left." She crossed her arms looking at him and the smile faded from Nick's face.

"What?" He quickly got out of the pool.

"What you heard, she's gone."

"Why? Hasn't she told you anything?" And he ran towards the entrance of the house without waiting for the woman's answer.

When he left, he saw how your car was leaving the house, he rushed to go to his cell phone and call you being received by voicemail.

"Fuck!" He cursed under his breath as he entered the house. Noah, seeing his condition, walked towards him.

"Are you okay? What's wrong?" she asked worriedly and he denied without looking at her.

"Nothing, forget it."

"Okay, do you want to go to your room or to the pool?" Noah questioned placing his hands on his cheeks, and he nodded. "Okay, let's go."

"Precious, what's wrong, hmm?" Jenna asked seeing you just move the food around on your plate. You had both agreed to go out to eat after what happened at Nick's house.

"I'm in love with him, Jen." you sighed, letting your fork rest on the plate to look at her.

"Ay mi chiquita." He looked at you understandingly and you sighed resting your chin in the palm of your hand.

"I don't even know why I fell in love with him knowing how he is and the arrival of Noah in his life didn't help much." You took a sip of your peach juice and she took your free hand.

"Are you going to tell him?"

"Maybe one day if I'm not a coward." You wrinkled your nose at the thought of even ruining what you had.

"You are not a coward." she denied with a gentle smile. "You only fell in love with your best friend."

"Ugh, that sounds worse." you joked and you both laughed finishing eating.

You both returned to Nick's house where Lion was still there. When Jenna saw him, she approached him to greet him with a kiss and Nick approached you.

"Hey." you greeted barely arranging your bag on your shoulder.

"Why you left?" he asked looking at you intently, you sighed and looked at the guys, giving Jen a significant look, which she understood instantly. You were going to confess your feelings for him.

"Okay, we're leaving, bye Nick, bye y/n."

"Bye..." you muttered looking how they left.

"I wasn't going to take another second of watching the guy I've loved half my life making out with another girl he just met." you admitted, leaving him speechless, he opened and closed his mouth to speak but didn't know what to say. Never in his life would he have imagined that you would feel something for him.

"I..." Once again, he didn't know what to say.

"Don't worry, leave it like that, I knew this would happen." You started walking towards your car. But his voice stopped you.

"I've always loved you." it took you a few seconds but you finally turned around to look at him in disbelief.

"Really?" You stayed still in your place and he came closer to you.

"Yeah, I realized that things weren't going to work out with Noah, because she wasn't you." He put his hand on your cheek and you still looked at him without believing it.

"Seriously?" He laughed nodding leaning little by little towards you. "But you..."

"Shut up." He sentenced and then kissed you slowly.

Finally you separated and he looked into your eyes with intensity.

"It's always been you."

Today I’ll be reviewing the complete four-issue limited series “Year One” style story for Cassandra “Cassie” Hack, the protagonist of “Hack/Slash,” titled “Hack/Slash: My First Maniac.” It is written by Tim Seeley, with artwork by Daniel Leister, colors by Mark Englert, and letters by Crank!, all published by Image Comics (@imagecomics) as the first of the “Hack/Slash” properties to be published there before they took up the second ongoing series.

As a warning, this review is also an analysis, and so will include spoilers regarding this arc and major developments therein.

Throughout “My First Maniac,” Tim Seeley’s word choice rules the day, showcasing changing scenarios through repetition of common lines that have small, significant variations. Particularly in the first issue, there are intense parallels during the last two days that Cassie spent in her Wisconsin hometown, with her survivor’s guilt and vulnerability contrasting against her utter viciousness on her last day, figuring out how to use her “otherness” to make others afraid of her. On a similar note, the repeated use of certain phrases such as “come home” and similar words helps to add on to how alone Ms. Hack really feels and how she does, deep down, wish she could be at home again, but can’t seem to allow that for herself, a recurring struggle for her throughout her slasher slayer career.

Repetition also continues through events, such as the aforementioned last two days and her feelings about firearms. While Hack was at first upset and in shock over shooting her mother after she had become a slasher, noting that the gun felt heavy in her hands, her almost casual execution of the slasher she set out to hunt in this arc and intentional use of the gun she had actually demanded from someone else gives a look at how far she has delved into her killer lifestyle.

Religion, in particular Christianity, gets some mention, and acts as a contrast to the slashers themselves. Seeing as Cassie doesn’t know much about them (and won’t know much at all beyond the basics for years), she equates their ability to rise from the dead by sheer hatred as a kind of opposite number to Jesus of Nazareth, albeit not an actual antichrist. “The Bible says Jesus Christ died for our sins and returned to show his love. What about those who died for their own sins and returned to show their hate?” While this connection isn’t really all that important, it helps to tie readers in to the story, given a common perspective that many are at least familiar with on a cursory level.

Tim Seeley has long proposed that all of the famous slasher film franchises (and a few horror comic series) take place within the same world and share that world with “Hack/Slash,” with crossovers including “Hack/Slash vs. Chucky” (Child’s Play after Seed of Chucky), “Cassie and Vlad meet the Re-Animator” (Re-Animator), and “Hatchet/Slash” (Hatchet) alongside other more subdued connections or offhand references. In this limited series, Cassie’s original research into slashers includes direct mentions of the actions of Freddy Kreuger of A Nightmare on Elm Street (“a man who kills in dreams in Ohio”), Michael Myers of Halloween (“a masked maniac who terrorizes a small town on Halloween”), and Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th (“a camp plagued for thirty years by a psycho who won’t die”) who, though already mentioned to exist within the world by Charles Lee “Chucky” Ray in his one-shot story, are still a nice treat for readers.

As a fun little note, Delilah Hack’s year of death is mentioned on her tombstone as 2004, the same year that the original “Hack/Slash” story, “Euthanized,” was published, and therefore probably the same year that this story takes place.

“My First Maniac” is, at its core, a tragedy. Cassie Hack wants a normal life, and by right, probably would have had one, albeit one filled with bullying, in most other circumstances. But with her life’s path and her survivor’s guilt, any hope for a happy life is mercilessly, repeatedly dashed, and she isn’t the only one to whom this genre applies.

First, let’s look to the case of Cassie herself. From the outset, re-killing her undead mother has irrevocably changed her life, leading her down a dark path that results in running away from the loving foster care of Shannon and Karen Moore. As she starts to develop a new, real life for herself in Buffalo Center, Iowa, over the course of her first intentional slasher hunt, she actually seems to be happy, or at least give the idea of possibly becoming happier with time. She develops friends, and seems on the road to becoming better again after her violent turn in Wisconsin. Then, of course, things go horribly wrong, as becomes a pattern for her life from then on.

On the other hand, we have the supporting cast and even the villains. The Moores just wanted to help Cassie, but her self-given mission had consumed her to such a degree that any happiness would be impossible. Sarah Bunn and her boyfriend Kelsey each have a tragic tale, each a victim of the slasher of the story in their own way. Cassie even identifies them as a “free-spirited girl with a dark secret” and a “genuine good guy” respectively, acknowledging that they also were suffering from tragedy much as she was in their own ways. Even the slasher was in his own way a victim, though not as sympathetic. He was murdered in a rage, but his actions in life were not kind either, so there is less sympathy afforded to him.

A major part of “My First Maniac” is not just the case itself, but how Cassie Hack evolves from a relatively innocent girl into… well, kind of a sociopathic girl with intense post-traumatic stress disorder. By the end of the arc, she even claims that “Cassie Hack, teenage girl” is dead.

The majority of the symptoms of her disorder do not come into play during the limited series (having apparently been developed gradually in the months since), but her increased aggression is definitely important. Over the course of a single day, perhaps two, Cassie Hack goes from reluctantly shooting her mother to death in order to save someone’s life, to experiencing such severe survivor’s guilt that she feels she deserves the beating that a trio of bullies led by group alpha Rhianna Stegman are giving her, to beating Stegman to within an inch of her life with her bare hands the next day and threatening to murder her if she ever tried again. Even more, that very night she threatened her foster father’s life with a knife in his bed to keep him from following her as she ran away, further showing that she is seriously unwell. The speed with which she shifts from a shy, bullied girl to making death threats and physical assault demonstrate a thoroughly fractured mind, one that will only get worse as years of hunting take their toll.

On another note, it is important to be aware that while Cassie is a huntress of monsters, she is not a good person on her own. When she witnesses Jay and Ludo beating up a homosexual student outside of Club Fuzz after work, she almost doesn’t help at all on account of them not being her prey and her not being a hero, only actually getting involved when the odds are obviously in her favor once Kelsey and Sarah jumped in. Part of this relates to how she feels she can’t have anyone to care about, seeing any attachments as collateral in her hunt that she cannot afford (something that takes years for her to grasp is not necessarily the case, and never really leaves her mindset altogether), but another is the fact that she is so obsessed with her mission that she has faith in nothing else at all and makes attempts to refuse any other ways to help.

Even with her increasingly hardened exterior, there is still a sheltered, hidden part of Cassie Hack that is still that flustered, shy, teenage girl who ran away from home. Being the center of attention and attracting compliments leaves her very shy, with her new goth wardrobe breaking her out of her intense focus when people bring up how good she looks. Furthermore, when someone actually tells her she is a cool girl, she is overjoyed, actually writing it down in her diary with her feet up and crossed like a guy she likes noticed her.

Daniel Leister’s artwork is amazingly done, and in two different, but similar styles. On the one hand, we have the present day storyline, with realistic, well-detailed faces and scenes, the emotion clear on everyone’s faces (especially important for this particular slasher). Blood and guts are in horrific, terrifying detail through which Leister considers the amount of time that has passed since the blood has spilled, ranging from a general stain to caked on gore or bruises to a smear to a bloody, oozing wound. Water is shown in detail as well, with sweat and splashes helping to showcase effort in a way that many other artists might overlook.

On the other hand, the tellings of the tale of the slasher threat are somewhat more simplistic in nature, with flatter artwork that somehow works very well regardless, playing off in a way that is not unlike the works of Jack Kirby. In fact, the artwork even utilizes his famous “Kirby dot” technique!

On the whole, it is very well put together in some of the best art on “Hack/Slash” in general (not to put down any of the other phenomenal artists either).

The issue would be incomplete without Mark Englert’s coloring. Darkness and light, across different times of day, different ages of bruising, or even different styles of artwork help to make the entire story feel like a classic slasher movie, even as it is clearly something different.

The coloring of blood and gore is particularly well handled, as each of these elements has a weight to them, with light and shadow playing across them to showcase the amount of blood spilled or the fact that a blood stain may just be a single layer, whether a minor smear on clothing or skin. By using that kind of detail, readers are made aware of how fresh, how wet, a wound really is at any particular moment.

Together, this four-issue series is put together wonderfully, with the masterful writing, excellent illustrations, and disturbingly realistic coloring working together to make yet another piece of the amazing “Hack/Slash” epic.

Goldman Sachs announced its largest-ever class of managing directors.

Of the 509 promoted, 44% are millennials.

The firm announces managing-director promotions every two years.

It's one of the most coveted positions on Wall Street, a step below partner at the premier investment bank.

Goldman Sachs just announced a new class of 509 managing directors — the largest class in the firm's history.

The position is one of the most coveted on Wall Street, one step below partner at the prestigious investment-banking firm. The firm now has 2,148 managing directors, making up 7.1% of the company's workforce.

It's also one of the youngest classes the bank has promoted — 44% are millennials, up from 30% in 2015.

Other headline stats about the class:

66% started their careers as analysts or associates at Goldman Sachs.

24% of the class is women, down from 25% in 2015.

130 were promoted in the securities division, up from 102 in 2015.

101 were promoted in investment banking, up from 97 in 2015.

52 were promoted in technology, up from 38 in 2015.

Eight were promoted in consumer and commercial banking — the division that houses the bank's online-lending business, Marcus — compared with zero in 2015.

Long Way Home

This is a slightly darker piece for my Powers AU with @andipxndy​, set after a battle when a tired Evac operation retrieves most of the exhausted mutants from the scene. Some, however, cannot be saved, and this weighs particularly heavy on Midas, an Atmokinetic who stands to lose his best friend. 

Expanding this verse with AJ has been really fun so far, and I can’t wait to explore more of it! There will absolutely be more of these guys on here.

“He’s gone, Quinn. We just need transport. Get these guys back to base.” Connor’s voice buzzed over the intercom, and Quinn frowned.

“Confirmed. Be careful, Connor. Don’t do anything stupid,” he said, before switching the feed to the speakers located through the base. “Code Red. I repeat, there is a Code Red. Transport required, all teams report to deployment.”

“Guess I’m in charge then?” Micah asked, still watching the grainy feed of Connor sealing his team in the Facility boardroom. Quinn claps a hand on his shoulder, using it to push himself out of his seat.

“Yep. I’m gonna go brief the others,” he said solemnly. “I’ll let you know when we sort a dispatch, and you’re gonna have to get the message through to Obed.”

“Got it. Good luck with James,” Micah said, trying to joke but sounding almost monotonously tired. “Oh, and… try not to let them send Dan.”  

“Quinn, what’re we dealing with?” James asked as Oliver leant on him, trying to catch his breath, the two of them having run from the training room three floors down. Quinn looked across the room of people, all staggering in at various levels of exhaustion. It had been a monster three days, and he was surprised at how many of them were still standing. He almost didn’t want to tell them the news.

“Reaper took out the drain, but Electrode managed to get out alive, so we need a tracker. Enigma sealed the others in a probability bubble so they’d be safe, and he’s gone after Chronos alone. The others need an Evac team as soon as possible. We might need Medical but, from what I can see, we’re going to be adding more bodies to the morgue either way,” Quinn explained as quickly as he could, and James nodded, turning to his team.

“You heard him. We have a lot of people still not cleared by Abbie, but we can pull together a big enough team for a safe Evac. Hypoxia, I want you and Typhoon on tracking as soon as possible. The rest of you, I’m going to need at least three volunteers for the Evac team,” James said. “I know we’re all tired, but, the faster we get everyone back, the faster we can shut down the Facility permanently.”

“Who died?” Dan piped up, stepping out from behind Mitchell. Quinn went pale, and swallowed slowly. “Quinn? Who is it?”

“... From what I could see, the drain siphoned aura strength. It latched onto the strongest force in the room.”

“No. Fuck off, tell me it isn’t -”

“Psych is currently incapacitated, but Engima has already conveyed his doubts when it comes to survival chances. At the moment, in the lock, all probability is fixed, so he’s dying, and quickly.”

Dan’s hand flew into the air, quickly followed by his teammate, Alex, and their healer, Mitchell.

“Let me go. James, let me get him. Please.”

James looked up at Quinn for a moment, who shakes his head. James just sighed.

“This is a shit situation… But, okay. But Carcino leads, not you, Beacon. Everyone else, fall out.”

Nothing could have prepared Dan for walking through the boardroom door. He had already had to stomach walking past an incapacitated Connor at the bottom of the stairwell, surrounded by bits of broken guard rail and partially lay on the pale, bloodied body of Carter. However, he would forever believe that the feeling as he stepped into the bubble holding his best friend to the last wisps of life was the deepest pain he had ever felt. His teammates, his friends, were huddled together, expressions ranging between confusion and anger. Feeling Mitchell’s hand on his shoulder, he jumped, beginning to shake. The air around him began to collect slowly, forming small clouds that seemed to gravitate towards each other.

“You can save him, can’t you?” he asked quietly, but Mitchell didn’t even acknowledge him, moving to quickly heal Jake’s shallow wounds. “Mitchell. Mitch, please, tell me you can save him.” He could barely look at the body. A fizzling pink glow was evaporating quickly from Stephen, down to the last dregs of light. He didn’t look dead. That was all Dan could think. He didn’t look dead. Small shards of ice shot down from the clouds surrounding him as he yelled, “Mitchell Tanner, tell me that you can bring him back!”

“I can’t do that!” Mitchell shouted, and Dan flinched, stepping back quickly, ice melting almost instantly. Mitchell didn’t get angry often and, mid-healing, his skin was almost transparent, giving him a more corpse-like appearance than the boy on the floor between them. “He’s gone, Dan! I can’t fix that!”

The room fell silent. Amy, who had been rocking slightly where she was sat against the wall, wiped a small amount of blood from her face. Aleisha tugged slightly on the edges of her gloves, as if she was attempting to pull them further up her forearms. Alex bumped his shoulder against Dan, who was beginning to well up, causing a few tears to escape, but they froze against Dan’s skin.

“He can’t just die.”

“I’m sorry, Daniel, but Mitch is right,” Aleisha said gravely, not meeting Dan’s eyes as his gaze flickered over to her. “I can… sense him, almost. He hasn’t… passed yet, but he can’t come back.”

For the first time since entering the room, Dan allowed himself to hover his gaze on his best friend. His skin was mottled, but pale, and Stevie was slack against the dirty carpet. The last trace of his aura, his life force, evaporated, and the air around Dan began to effervesce. Dan’s mind immediately swarmed with noise, and the smoke gathering around him began to cycle through matter states. As a crushing weight grew in his chest, he realised just how much his best friend had been protecting him.

“We need to get him out of here,” Alex said quietly, so quietly that Dan could barely hear him over the murmuring in his head, looking pointedly at Obed as if to imply that it was he who should be carrying the small hero. Obed nodded solemnly, making as if to pick him up.  

“I can carry him,” Dan said quickly, and Obed stopped, frowning. “I’m carrying him,” he said again, more firmly. “He’s my best friend, it should be me.”

The Thing:Artbook - Who all is in this thing??

So, who all is involved with “The Thing:Artbook” you ask? Well, I am here to give you an answer. Listed below is the list of all the artists who have a piece that is included in the book. Some of them have more than one, some produced more than one, but we had to make hard decisions about inclusion.

When we started out on this project, an idea conceived last year in May, and once we had secured the approval from Universal Studios to move ahead, we had hoped to make it a book with primarily comic industry folks because that’s who we knew. Once we started to reach out to folks with information about the project the response was so positive, we decided to branch out a little and include some illustrator friends and designer folks. Again, the response was so overwhelmingly positive we decided to invite whoever we thought we could get on board. Then, people started coming to us as word of the project began to spread. We were blown away and humbled by the caliber of talent who have agreed to be a part of this book.

We hope you will be pleasantly surprised and excited as you go through the list below and see the participants listed. You will probably have heard about many of them already, but hopefully there will be some surprises as well.
