And ofcourse I say this from a place of privilege. I'm grateful for little things, the fact that I don't have to worry about shelter or food at this time, that I have my art supplies, that Sunday evenings have now become game nights in my house, that cleaning chores have become almost soothing, the list goes on. Find one thing you're grateful for, write it down, it might help put things in perspective. It did for me. 'What working from home really looks like.' I seen a post explaining how what we're doing right now isn't just working from home, but trying to work during a crisis from home. This implying that it's alright if your productivity or focus has reduced a bit, you're body being in a flight or fight mode it's only natural. And inspite of all the social media posts, including posts of mine, encouraging us to 'learn a new skill' or 'start a new hobby' during this time, it's ok to use your free time to just breathe. The past week has been a wierd and surreal time for me. And for someone who anyways works 75% of the time at home, it shouldn't have been different or difficult for that matter. But I found myself extremely anxious and couldn't concentrate on anything. The 'end of the world, what does it matter anyways?' feeling that came from a sense of losing control overwhelmed me. I become more aware of this after a chat with @coachedbyerica this morning. She made me realise that this is something she's feeling too and I guess just the sense of resonating with someone gave me comfort.
