Day 9 and 10: Dark backstreets

Saburov: Hrm, yes I finally have emergency powers. We will put the town under quarantine.

Daniil (who already has two revolvers and a pocket full of ammo): Yes, except for me, because you will let me go wherever I want and also have a gun.

Saburov: Except for you, because you are a doctor and can go wherever you want.

Daniil: And you will give me have a g u n.

Saburov: And I will have volunteers patrolling the streets so people don't use weapons.

Daniil (batting his pretty little eyelashes): Except for meeee, because I am so poor and defenseless and need a gun so you will give me one 🥺

Saburov: I don't have a lot of weapons, but here, take this one, since you very clearly need one, bachelor. (Gives Daniil a gun and ammo). Also the black market downtown sells guns if you ever need more. Haha.

Daniil: OH how regrettable! Sucks that there seems to be a gun shortage around here. If only there was someone who could help with that 😬 (pockets third weapon)

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Haruspex route, Artemy kills an eight year old for a gun or some shit idk.

The possibility to choose one of the other characters' endings added so much depth to Patho Classic. Mostly because as Artemy you can choose Daniil's ending but you know you really shouldn't, and that scratches the "I want to fix him, how far am I willing to go?" itch I have for this accursed ship.

I love Pathologic because the game is so so serious and then the fandom is just like

“oh yeah those two are definitely in love”

and it’s two men who hate each other so much that when the player doesn’t intervene they spend the entire game trying to kill each other

I love how in pathologic with Daniils quest to conquer death, it’s kind of paralleled by Artemys dedication to his children and preserving the future of the town. As in a way children are a way to beat death and continue your legacy.

walks out into the steppe & nearly dies talking to some wretched little beastie that shouldn't exist who openly admits to being the cause of the plague. takes a bunch of girls' blood anyway, realizes none of the girls are the cause of the plague (because the wretched beastie is), falls into a despair and sits by his suicidal girlfriend's pond for six hours trying to figure out where he went wrong
