Just got back from seeing my friend Danny Marks playing at @relishtoronto. This guy has been making a living in the music biz for 50 years. He started with his band Edward Bear in 1969 when he was 17. 19-freakin-69. That's pretty incredible longevity. Congrats on lasting all this time Dan! . I was at the @cadillacloungetoronto yesterday to watch my buddy #DannyMarks and his band who play a matinee there every Saturday between noon-ish and 4-ish. There’s no better place in Tdot for day-drinking and live music on a Saturday! 😀 Here’s Danny’s non-reverse #Gibson #Firebird. He’s changed the tuners to @klusonofficial and had the pickups rewound (and magnets changed) to more accurate 1960s specs. He plays this #guitar direct into a 1965 #Fender #TwinReverb. No pedals. This ain't #NAMM, it's my friend Danny Marks of legendary Canadian band #EdwardBear blues-ing it up at the @cadillacloungetoronto earlier today. This guy's #guitar collection makes mine look like a beginner's, but here he's playing a #Fender #AmericanVintage '65 #Stratocaster in #sparklingburgundy, because dammit, you just don't take a a 1972 #Gibson #FlyingV #medallion to a Saturday matinee gig! 😁 He is, however playing through a very fine #vintage Fender #DeluxeReverb (a 1965 model I believe...) with no #pedals - the #reverb on the #amp and natural #overdrive are his only #effects. #guitars #guitarcollection #dannymarks #torontomusic #toronto #fenderguitars #strat #straturday #fenderamps #vintageamps #vintagefenders #blues #livemusic #guitarphotography #notnamm2017

So long ago when I couldn't get to that deeper note I can now reach. 🎼 However I was feeling shy to join Danny Marks on stage that day during a time when I never got nervous to perform... his mates weren't familiar with this song as they were more into playing the blues so we were all being troupers on this one. Also during this same time, I was gigging with my band of jazz players and Canadian Opera Company members and we would do two one hour sets of jazz ballad standards along with some of my originals. I wish I had film footage from those times.. I did record most of the shows and there are a few pics around. Here's a video clip of my buddy playing his 1965 #Fender #ProReverb the other day at the #CadillacLounge in #Toronto. There are no #pedals here - the #guitar is direct into the #amplifier. And there's no mic on the #amp either...it just sounds that huge on it's own! The guitar is an #AmericanVintage #Reissue '65 #Stratocaster in #Burgundymist.
