Greatest Show on Earth ((darknessshards))
"You're lucky I like you," she muttered to her cousin, slumping down further in her seat. Izumi hadn't been to the circus in years, and very little of what she remembered was positive. What she recalled was excessive noise and cramped strangers packed tight against each other. However, her cousin--only eight--had insisted she accompany them tonight, and it was very hard to refuse a pout nearly as good as her own.
Still, the gymnast was a little curious to see just how good the acrobatics might be. And a friend who had gone the night before mentioned something about a hot guy performing with them, so at least there was something to look forward to.

The darkness whispered at the other, right against his ear. "Why is your darkness weak?"
Kouichi stared at the newcomer. He looked deep into the other’s eyes. He stared back in horror as he saw himself. Only this version was… different. He realized that he was looking into the eyes of a a corrupted version of himself. One that had not been purified from Cheriubimon’s darkness.
" Huh? My darkness weak? What do you mean? I am the warrior of darkness like yourself…Does that mean you are.. different from me?"

Yuu took a look at the group of people, he wondered why there were someone here let alone this many. "Do you want something?"

darknessshards replied to your post: "Weaklings are not wanted. Leave before you perish." Red eyes glared at the other, his presence was annoying to say the least.
The one before him, he’s younger, and that makes the him frown. Closing evil eyes, he responds lowly. “Your nightmare.” Seeing the other makes him irritated, and his hands clench at his sides as he watches, for signs of weakness.
He stares back with wide eyes. The darkness is something familiar to him, but he's no longer confused. He faces it without fear, accepting the older one as he was--not for his words. His own hands clench in mirror of the other's.
"Why are you doing this?"

He didn’t move, and hissed again. “If you wish to stay mute, disappearing seems an option.” He wanted to get away, lest he actually strike and harm the twin he kept so precious, yet the one he wanted to murder and see dead.
"I thought you already know."
Kouji leaned forward, pulling his bandana out of his forehead. He reflected the image of his brother's face as what their genes likened them to be, identical twins from the same zygote, but their countenance were of two complete opposites. Kouji had dull, dark blue eyes boring over his darker twin's reds that saw no hatred, fear, love, or sorrow over the familiar image that had, once upon a time, brought him to tears. They were the last tears he'd shed, the last he felt anything - the time he conquered it all.
"You are Darkness and I am Light. There's nothing to talk about. I'm bound by my honor as a Warrior to never run away from an opponent but you're free to turn around now and leave. "

Home: I’ll write our characters living together.I sort of did this, but I tweaked it and made it a little strange on purpose. You’ll see.
The first time he woke up feeling the strange prickle of his skin that came with a strong sense of darkness, Taiki knew that something around him was different. His couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but it was coming from the apartment directly beside his. He never saw who moved in there, but it wasn’t a friendly person. Not that he cared for friendly. He just knew not to let his guard down.
It was only after the fifth day of that strange feeling being around that Taiki finally figured out who was there. He should have known, because that darkness was unique, but while his mind allowed him to memorize things he saw, feelings were different.
He still should have known it was the darkness belonging to Duskmon and his human host, Kimura Kouichi.
The first time that he saw him, Taiki was busy, hurrying on his way to class after sleeping in more than he meant to. He had come to a complete stop, staring at the boy who was physically younger than him, but who was actually a digimon a millennia older. That was a strange concept. It was almost like a tense staring contest, but Taiki needed to get to class, so he had to look away first.
He wondered if Kouichi - Duskmon - even needed blinked.
These strange meetings continued from there on. It seemed like no matter which way he was coming, Kouichi seemed to be going the other way. He didn’t understand what he was even doing in the building, especially after learning that an old woman was supposedly the tenant there.
Taiki had a strange feeling that the woman was still there, at least in a physical sense. That brought the question to mind though, why was he there. It couldn’t be a coincidence that it was the apartment right beside his, the two bedrooms sharing a wall that couldn’t keep the darkness from creeping in. Then he started thinking that it wasn’t him who Kouichi was watching.
That was when the alarm bells started going off.
"What do you want?" Taiki finally asked him one day in the hall. There was no one else around, but Taiki knew that the darkness would make sure no one interrupted.
Kouichi said nothing, but he blank eyes regarded him coldly for a while. Finally, he spoke, but it didn’t answer his question. “You’re more attached to light than you think.” It sounded like an insult, and it probably was meant to be.
There was a double meaning to those words though, one that Taiki didn’t like. “I know what I am and where I fit in. That’s more than you can say. Fire is a form of light, and you’re pretty attached to that, form what I know.”
Taiki should have been scared, but oddly enough, as Kouichi just walked by him, he felt like he had passed some sort of test. Whatever test that was, he honestly didn’t really want to know. There wasn’t much that Taiki feared, but there was really something about this kid - digimon - that always set him on edge.
That night, Kouichi left and he didn’t come back. Taiki could feel it, even without actually seeing him leave. The darkness lifted a little bit, but it was really the strangest thing, because without that darkness around, everything almost seemed a little too bright. He wasn’t the only one to notice it either.
That was strange, he wasn’t one who walked in the light by any means, but he still found that he missed living next to the darkness.

{ Got any ideas for this one? I think Ichi (his Alt self) would make a pretty good preformed. Maybe Izu could be a spectator that falls for him and gets introduced into the Circus life with him. }
((That works for me ^^ she'd probably already be a gymnast and then decide to join up to become an acrobat or something?~))

He slid a black box toward Kouji, inside there's a 'gift' from The Dark to The Light; a new bandanna, crudely fashioned by the older twin from pieces of red and black fabric he could find around his belongings.
Kouji wasn’t sure what was going on, but he was able to choose instantly what to believe. No matter what otherworldly explanation or mysterious past there was, Kouji would always choose to believe in his brother.
He accepted the black box and opened it. Inside was a gaudy red and black cloth. Upon pulling it out, what he thought were pieces of junk strewn together turned out to be a bandanna, stitched from separate pieces.
Kouji looked at his brother then at the bandanna at hand. He smiled.
Without hesitation, Kouji replaced his bandanna with the new one, tying it behind his head into a firm knot.
"Here."
He stretched out his hand holding his own bandanna.
"It’s yours."

"Weaklings are not wanted. Leave before you perish." Red eyes glared at the other, his presence was annoying to say the least.
Though he knows at his current state he is no match, he shifts into a mildly defensive stance, carefully watching his counterpart. He’s older, the eleven year old notices. It’s clear by his tone, his general appearance, that he is older and far stronger. There’s the sense of darkness about the other that he feels very familiar.
It is him but not him.
The boy forces himself to calm, straightening his posture. There’s no point struggling, but he doesn’t follow the other’s words. He stays where he stands.
"Who are you?" His words are cautious but curious.

"Birthday? That word holds no value. You of all people should now, or must I remind you?" His crimson capped irises glowed with the lust for battle, to see the other's marred flesh stained with bright ruby. "I don't care about you like some people. You are merely a mirror."
"They are the Enemy, Kouji. Have you forgotten? Vile creatures of darkness, twisted abominations of Chaos. A prey preying on preys."
Kouji didn't reply, still nonchalantly resting his eyes. Like some people? He wondered who they were.

∞: A random headcanon about my muse and yours.
Somehow, possibly because of the darkness that seems to always exist around the other boy, Taiki’s able to pick up the fact that Kouchi’s around before he even sees him. He’s still very wary of the other.
((Sorry, they haven’t really interacted and I have no idea what to write. I’ve been trying to think of something but couldn’t so I just decided to give this obvious one instead of ignoring it.))

1. Why did you choose your muse? Long story short, I love Ken. He's possibly my favorite Digimon character. Loved his arc, loved the warring cruelty and kindness in him, and while I'm glad he ended up the way he did in canon, I thought it would be fun to see what he could have been like had he not fought so hard against the darkness within.
5. What is your best trait? Pffffffft. I'd have to say my determination, though many would just say stubbornness. It's a problem sometimes, others it's all that's kept me going.
3. What do you and your muse have in common? I'd like to think my mean streak stays well away from my real-world interactions, but damn am I a sadomasochistic bitch when it comes to my writing. All my characters need a really long hug. I hope that as far as my own personality goes, I share a good deal with canon!Ken as opposed to dark!Ken, in that I'm well aware that there's darkness inside me (not in the way of cruelty, but in terms of depression and such) but I still do my damnedest to fight against it.
