uh, hi! Would like to start by I'm sorry this took so long (literally a month) lol. Got nothing to offer but the usual excuses, school finals are coming and I'm in my last year. Initially, I was gonna write way more for this prompt (the wonderladian one) but I've been way too stressed lately to even think properly, let alone be creative. So I hope you still like it even if it's pretty brief, I did end up liking it and I plan to expand this scene a bit more on a fic I'm brainstorming over about the Wonderladians when I get more time and inspiration

Darling twiddles her thumbs, staring at the dark blue drapes on Maddie and Kitty’s dorm room. “So...you guys do this often?”  Maddie turns her head to meet Darling's eyes. "Do what?" "Eh, you know..." Darling trails off. Chase is dozing at her side, cheek squished against the pillow, and mouth slightly open. On the other side of the bed, Kitty is sprawled across Alistair's legs, her head resting on Lizzie's chest while the princess of hearts scratches her ears with an ungloved hand. Bunny is in her animal form to make space―Thank Grimm―she seems content all bundled up under Alistair's chin.  Maddie is behind her, closer to the edge, instead of being with the others. Her hair branches out in the pillow the same way it does when she's upside down. She's still staring at Darling, expectantly. "...have sleepovers like this?" Darling finishes when she realizes Maddie wouldn't take the hint.  "Oh! All the time!" Maddie says, bouncing her head and grinning. "In Wonderland, we used to have nap parties after tea. All of us cuddled up under the tree―" "Or in the branches," Kitty says with her eyes closed, from her designated position on Lizzie's chest. "I still say that it is always better to take a nap in a tree than in a bed." Maddie giggles. "But, Darling likes beds, silly." Then, Maddie is crossing the untold line of Darling’s personal space, wrapping her arms around Darling’s midsection. The knight swallows a squeak. Maddie sighs on Darling’s shoulder. “I’m so glad you came, Darls.”

ohhh if you’ve seen enough of my posts u already know this . DIZZIE. AKA DARING AND LIZZIE. AKA THE ONE CANON SHIP THAT HAD SOO MUCH POTENTIAL BUT DIDNT GO ANYWHERE!!! if you’ve read the wonderlandiful world book you’ll especially understand where i’m coming from. literally even a snippet of it is in my header. it’s just sooo!!! idk!! i like the drama of everyone expecting daring to be with apple or at the very least a “Proper Princess”.. but here comes this wonderlandian princess who threatens to chop people’s heads off and there is just . Hearts in his eyes (pun intended). he’s completely smitten. and lizzie is just like Ugh this guy again but secretly finds him intriguing and likes the fact he likes Her for Her. my fav ship dynamic. obviously not biased but i think it’s the best out of the daring ships mainly bc i cant personally imagine cerise being attracted to men and i already told my thoughts on darabella.. i have many more thoughts on dizzie i should probably make a post on that.

this ship is just so criminally underrated there’s rlly not enough fics on this. i have soo many unfinished dizzie fics that will hopefully one day see the light.. who knows

oh u already know what i’m gonna say. CHARMING SIBLINGS!!!! the books especially portray their dynamics so well. which is why i have a bone to pick with fics or interpretations where dexter or darling, specifically dexter, get rlly annoyed at their brother or daring is rlly condescending bc while dexter mayy be a little tired of being in his shadow they all still love each other!!! daring and dexter playfully wrestle, daring laughs as darling swings on his arm like a monkey bar, daring is proud of “dexter” suddenly improving in hero class and reassures him later that he knows this isn’t his thing but he isn’t going to hurt him while jousting…. i also find it entertaining to read about dexter and daring shooing off all of darling’s suitors, it’s nice to see how protective they r of her. and that one diary entry of darling remembering a memory of the three playing in the mud and then running away into the forest, making fun of their mother. it’s so cute . so good.

i reckon my love for this sibling dynamics and most sibling dynamics in media is bc of me being an only child and projecting bc i’ve always wanted siblings like this but anyways…..

ooh interesting question . is it weird to say the castleteria LOL. i’ve always wanted to be in those american school type cafeterias and the different levels in the castleteria just seem even more fun. so that or the study lounge bc i’m a Nerd and like to study in environments like that.. i liked to study in my high school’s yr 12 study room especially when it was quiet, but it was also Just as fun to just chat about anything with friends and other classmates

Things I'm changing in my eah fix-it fic because they just make sense

Instead of Milton cursing Giles with a babbel spell, it should've been in the cave. It would give Milton a more understandable mindset to why they should follow their story, and it wouldn't just be an asshole move.

Instead of Darling waking Apple up, it should have been Raven. They built it up for multiple seasons, and then they went for a ship with less chemistry.

The unplugged well of wonder shouldn't exist. It felt like it was unplanned and randomly added for spring unsprung and way-too-wonderland. One of the wonderland girls probably would have tried jumping in anyways.

Let Apple be the villain. She was villainous multiple times, just let her be evil sometimes.

Crystal would not be nice. I want her to be evil. She literally can't do anything by herself.

The evil queen being more sympathetic. Since Raven became evil after signing, it probably also happened to her. On the back of the comic-com exclusive, she only wants what's best for her, even if she's went about it the wrong way.

Jackie not being the villain. I don't know, if we had evil Crystal, then the workers could be the ones being wronged. They probably aren't paid, and could be mistreated by the royalty. They work constantly over winter making sure everything goes well. They don't get a break during summer, as they're also working at the ice palace.

Do you guys think fairytale people look down on those who aren’t from a fairytale? Because, Ever After High seems to be the most like prestige school, but not everyone can go to it. Is there like racism going on between fairytale people and normal people?

It’s said many times that Apple will be like, the future queen, but when we meet Snow White she’s a fucking capitalist. Also Apple being queen means kinda nothing cause half the school are royalty and will grow up to become kings and queens. That title doesn’t mean anything

We had like, ten kids from wonderland, but no Oz kids? I feel like a Dorothy child would be very obvious, like what the hell, same with the witches

The school actively encourages evil people to be evil, then become surprised when they are evil. Like, Evil Queen cursing Wonderland and almost taking over the world? That’s on you, principal

Also can we place lock up the principal in jail? He lied and manipulated his students, stole from Raven, and kept his brother cursed and locked up in the basement. Like, ???? The brother comes back and is just like “Oh I missed you so much brother” like no!!!!!! Get that man out of here!!!!!

Do the fairytale people reproduce like, asexually, or do we have a ton of inbreeding between the royals? Well, it would be the most realistic aspect of the show

Hot take: Apple is a great character. Like yeah she’s a little selfish, but when we’re shown how she was raised it’s fully understandable that she’s so obsessed with fulfilling her destiny, but she’s never rude or bitchy, not ever really to Raven. Also she gets better! Active character development! She’s one of my favorites

Why the fuck is Allister frolicking in Wonderland. Bro Alice came back, she left that place, yet everyone is just like “Yep he’s a wonderlandian”, like no! Also he’s a royal? Bro you can’t be a royal, you were actively rebelling against your story by going to wonderland early

It’s a little messed up how many of the kids are like, being forced to die. Like Ramona? She will be fucking gutted after eating her sister if she goes with her story. Like what is this school, what are these rules?

Apart from Sparrow, surprisingly, everyone of the boy designs are so fucking boring. Ew

I love the direction they took for Briar. I think they kinda realized after the first episode that shit, it’s kinda weird that this girl who’s destiny it is to sleep for 100 years to just be fine with it. Briar is also one of my faves

Speaking of the sleeping beauty story tho, do you think it’s rare for the school to have a sleeping beauty? Cause we’re shown that this school has housed like, generations of fairytale characters, but since Sleeping beauty clocks out for a hundred years, and probably only had a child after that, they must only get her like, every fourth or fifth generation. Kinda interesting actually

Daring X Cerise > Daring X Rosabella. Like idk, maybe it’s that Cerise can like, fully challenge him in his views, forcing him to become better in a way. Like, with Rosabella it feels more like an “I can fix him <3” mindset, while with Cerise it’s more “I can knock him down a peg”. I just thought they had a better dynamic, idk

Speaking of the Charming family, gf and I fucking hate Dexter’s name. Like, Daring and Darlings names match each other so well, not just that they sound alike but that they have meanings. Dexter is just a boring name

We tried to come up with name ideas, Dating was the funniest one to us, but we thought Dastardly was kinda fun.

Like, our thought process was that he was meant to be like, the classic jealous twin brother, always looking to sabotage his perfect older bro, except he wasn’t that at all. Like, a running joke would be that it would look like he was sabotaging Daring, or like being mean, but then the camera would like zoom out or smt and show that he was like, playing a video game or just doing something completely different. It would have been more fun, plus it would have given Dexter like an actual personality instead of just, inferiority complex the person

Dashing could also have been an idea for a name

Kitty should have a tail. As should her milf of a mother have. Also like, real cat ears instead of just a hat or a headband. It feels obvious

I mean Bunny has actual bunny ears, plus she can transform into a bunny, but why is the cat just like A Girl

How can Hunter belong to both the Little red ringing hood story, and Snow White. Is his dad just a mad multitasker, or does he have two dads? I like the second option honestly

The storybeat of the characters all living through each others story honestly should have been like, an entire special. It’s the most interesting thing the show did, and I wish we could have seen more, cause it lasted only like seven minutes. But that gives us more time to see that thrilling book all storyline, amiright?!

Briar’s moment was especially heart aching, and I wish we'd gotten more of it

But like, since Briar as the evil queen saw Apple poisoned instead of her mum, does that mean that Raven was talking to herself in her story

But at the same time, Blondie saw the current queen of hearts instead of Lizzie, so like what's going on

Snow White and The Evil Queen have like the vibe of high school rivals/ex girlfriends, and they did go to school together, but like Queenie is literally her step mom. Like what. If Raven were to live out her story, would that mean that she would marry Apple's dad? Whoever that is?

The more you think about the lore of this world the more it doesn't make sense, but it also becomes like incredibly dark

The Pied Piper is one of if not my favorite fairytales, but I hate how he is represented in this show. Like he kidnapped children and then drowned them, that man shouldn't be a teacher!

Also white queen is a teacher at ever after, yet her daughter is still in wonderland. Like bitch just left her there, what the hell.

I love that they didn’t make any of the princesses stuck up bitches, like Descendants did. Like, the girls are all kind, with vibrant personalities and a lot of love for the people around them. The closest thing to the “mean girl” stereotype is Duchess actually

But Duchess makes total sense! She fucking drowns at the end of her story, of course she wants another one. Why is Raven’s rebellion praised but Duchesses scorned? Also why is she a royal, girlypop is literally trying to steal other people’s happily ever after, she a rebel

A few Darling Charming HCs <3

Darling addresses apple as either “my lady”, “your majesty” or “your grace”, even though apple keeps telling her she can call her by her name

Darling always kisses apples hand as a greeting

Darlings favorite day of the year is Halloween. She loves costumes and dressing up. Her favorite years were when she went as a pirate, a ninja, and one time as a Jedi. she always chooses something with a sword of some kind, and now she just has a huge collection of fake (and real) swords.

She wasn’t allowed to learn sword fighting in the castle, so when she was about 11 she convinced an older guard to teach her in secret

Shes into pottery

She always gets the same thing from coffee shops- a green tea matcha latte

She doesn’t spend a lot of money, way less than the average princess usually would. She rarely buys things she wants, just what she needs. Daring and dexter have tried to talk her into spoiling herself on multiple occasions, but with no success

The three of them go to the mall together a lot, daring will walk out with a mountain of new clothes, dexter with a bunch of Techy stuff, and darling with… a pack of hair ties and that’s it.

She’s the only one who has ever beaten Lizzie at cards

She spars with chase and Lizzie often, often winning against Lizzie, but pretty evenly win/loose with chase

She’s learning riddlish from books in the library, the wonderlandians help her learn too

she and apple can talk over a single game of chess for hours

she brings a book back for rosabella every time she goes to the library

darling sneaks into the gym past curfew to work out in secret. She sometimes bumps into Cerise. She never asks.

unlike many other students, darling actually takes Maddie very seriously. She would never dismiss anything Maddie has to say just because she was talking crazy

maddie shows her how to brew tea and lizzie teaches her the rules of croquet. alistair and bunny ask her to tag along and be the muscle on their adventures. kitty asks her input on pranks to do on her brothers. lizzie says ‘we’re having a wonderland tea party this afternoon’ and darling replies ‘oh, okay :( have fun’ and lizzie is like ‘what do you mean? aren’t you coming?’ and lizzie barely likes anyone so being accepted by her means so much. maddie gives her an honorary wonderlandian hat. she starts learning little bits of riddlish and can follow along in their convoluted card games when no one else can. she picks up their habits of affection—she starts getting big hugs with no real reason and platonic cuddles while working on homework and eventually learns to give those same things back. one day the other students realize that, at some point in the past, they started including darling when they referred to ‘the wonderlandians’. when someone asks darling how many siblings she has she says she has three brothers and three sisters. they’re a family.

Rating the pets of EAH based on what is on the EAH wiki and my limited knowledge:

Adelita - Rosabella's butterfly. I have never heard of this. Also apparently Adelita translates to 'noble'?? 3/10 I don't think it suits her and also how do you keep a butterfly as a pet.

Barber - Poppy's squirrel monkey. I guess squirrel monkeys are cute and I can see it as a pet for her but I have yet again no memory of this. 5/10

Clipper - Holly's lion cub. Apparently it is 'charmed' to stay a cub forever?? Don't know how that work or why she has a lion or why she would name it Clipper?? there are better names girl. 3/10

Carmine - Cerise's dire wolf. Okay so technically they're part of the same pack or something but it's the daughter of Littler Red Riding Hood and the big Bad Wolf. You can't go wrong with giving her a wolf friend whose name is another shade of red. 6/10

Carrolloo - Kitty's caterpillar. A sneaky little guy. From what we saw of him he compliments Kitty's personality and you know, a caterpillar with a wonderlandian? It's not like I can be mad. 6/10

Clockwork - Cedar's wooded cuckoo. Okay I do actually like this a lot. Even if we never really saw him it's a great concept for her pet to be wooden like her. Especially when you consider it would probably have to been made specifically for her. I love it 8/10

Clydesdale - Farrah's pet mouse. Don't recall and there are better mice. 2/10

Divacorn - Briar's unicorn. Absolutely slayed so hard I don't care about the name which is an astonishing feat. I mean of course Briar would have a pink unicorn it just makes sense. 8/10

Drake - Hopper's dragonfly. Drake. 2/10 Only getting extra points because it is a literal DRAGONfly. He breathes fire.

Earl Grey - Maddie's dormouse. Perfection. Best dressed of all of the pets. Is a silly little guy with a silly little hat that lives in her hat. Impeccable. 10/10

Gala - Apple's snow fox. Gala is a great name just because of the fact this it is not only a type of apple but also a fancy party. Very royal, on brand, like to curl around her neck. Iconic. 8/10

Grizz - Blondie's baby bear. Blondie. Girlie. You are a reporter. Please get original. A bear for goldilocks' daughter is fine but it's just like. I'm bored girl. You can do better. 3/10

Jelly - Ginger's gummy fish. I. Love this. A sentient gummy fish she accidentally made? So iconic I'll ignore the basic name. It's like naming your goldfish 'Goldie'. Anyway, I love the concept, love the execution. 8/10

King Benedict - Humphrey's chicken. No. 2/10 for egg related name.

Mr. Cottonhorn - Dexter's jackalope. Guys. Guys. look at him.

He's just a little guy. 10/10.

Moustro - Melody's rat. I like the idea and the pun name but I feel like I'd need to see a picture to be impressed. 5/10

Nevermore - Raven's dragon. There is no need for discussion. 10/10

P-Hawk - Daring's peacock. I think I remember him being kind of terrible so uh 1/10 because Daring I don't think that's how you say peacock honey.

Pesky - Hunter's squirrel. I love how even though they're like enemies they have the same haircut and Pesky has a little acorn bag that Hunter definitely made for him. Lives up to his name. 7/10

Philia - Cupid's Pegasus. Apparently 'Philia' is one of the ancient greek words for love that is often translated to friendship. soooo, even though I didn't know about her she gets a 6/10 because I think that's sweet.

Pirouette - Duchess's swan. Queen. Icon. Slay. Need I say more? 10/10

Sandella - Ashlynn's phoenix. The fact that Ashlynn has a phoenix because it rises from the ashes is so hardcore and I love it. Even if her name is Sandella. 7/10

Shuffle - Lizzie's hedgehog. The bestest and cutest little croquet ball. I don't have much to say but love you dearly. 7/10

Sir Gallopad - Darling's horse. He can change colour and camouflage which is THE coolest thing. Horsegirl Darling. 8/10 Also Daring officially has the worst pet out of the Charming siblings.

Spindle - Faybelle's pomeranian. Of course an evil fairy you have such an unassuming evil little dog. And of course she named it after her evil destiny. Iconic. 8/10.
