what a lot of people don't understand is that linkin park is about doing something different. that's what they've ALWAYS been about. even if people didn't like it. the thrill of doing something new and innovative has never scared them, even if it came at the expense of a few naysayers and elitists within the fanbase.

that's why choosing emily as the new singer just makes sooo much sense to me. they didn't want to replicate their old sound. they didn't want someone to try to be a carbon copy of someone whose shoes were too big to fill anyway.

they wanted something new. different. revolutionary. and i have a feeling that's what this new era will be.

Having a mother that's pretty in the know of her children's interests makes for really weird conversations. One time I was playing bass in my room, and she walks past and says "Gonna be the next Dave Farrell, huh?" like you listen to EDM how the fuck do you know who the bassist of Linkin Park is??? Was driving home on the highway with her one time and talking about my hair and she said it's "better than Mikey Way with those terrible glasses" HELLO? WHY IS 2003 MIKEY WAY CATCHING STRAYS FROM MY 50 YEAR OLD MOTHER?

The people who call themselves Linkin Park fans but complain about how Emily "ruined" the band or the ones who call themselves og fans and their entire personality is to hate on her shouldn't be allowed to even pronounce Chester's name.

A lot of LP's songs are about letting go and keep living your life, that's the last thing some of y'all are doing and it's probably the last thing Chester would've wanted.

"She's not as good as Chester." Emily is not a replacement, it's a new start.

"Why didn't they change the name if they're starting from zero?" They have no reason to, and even if they did I just know some of y'all would be complaining about it and saying it's disrespectful to Chester anyway.

I love Emily, she seems so kind and passionate about singing both old and new songs and I feel so bad for all the hate she receives. You og fans are nothing but meatriders and hypocrites you don't deserve to even be called fans
