Day 3 of SapphicSeptember
Day 3: “Come back to bed.” or “Why did you have to leave me all alone?”
“Steph.” Cass was on the windowsill of her bedroom. She couldn’t see anything through the black eyes of Cass’s new attire. New costume. Her voice was warm and it had sounded like it was had been on the tip of her tongue through the entire way here. Her body posture was slightly relaxed, as relaxed as Cass can be, and her head tilted, maybe smiling.
“Cass.” Steph couldn’t bring herself to bring any emotion to her voice. It came out flat and bitter. She dropped her arms to her side holding her books beside her. Her body language probably also revealed everything to Cass the moment she shifted her feet into a better retreat position. If that even made any sense.
“What’s wrong?” Cass went down from the windowsill and was now standing on Steph’s floor. She approached Steph and while Steph may admit that she doesn’t have the fastest instinct in the world, her movement back towards the door was quick and might not have sent the best vibes towards Cass. She pushed the ugly feeling in her stomach and gathered her courage. She closed her eyes and felt tears gathering. She wants to lie but nothing goes past Cass. And Cass wouldn’t leave until she got the truth. She faced the hallway. She considered running to the door but it was pointless.
“You left.”  Without any explanation, too. Steph shouldn’t be mad. Bruce was Cass’s dad and she didn’t want to get in the way. But it hurt. She could handle Bruce’s hate. Tim’s. Barbara’s. But Cass’s leave felt worse than death. It felt like her heart kept on breaking and breaking. Even until now.
“But I’m here now.”
“That wasn’t point my Cass.”
“What is it then?”
“Why did you have to leave me all alone?”
It’s awful but I missed the first two days but I still wanted to contribute something. I’ll try to do better on the one tomorrow. Also! I did the first option over in my HP tumblr so send a raven if you’d want to read it (but why would you)
