⚓ What made you want to start drawing?

When I started drawing in my teens, formal art school wasn't an option. I doodled/sketched in every class instead of paying attention. I like to believe I had some degree of talent, but my grades in STEM were good, so I was discouraged from pursuing anything creative.

School and life happened and then I stopped keeping it up.

I didn't draw again properly for about 15 years after (I had a 1 month watercolour phase in there somewhere), but I started again because of Baldur's Gate 3—and the rest is history :)

💫 Who/what is your favourite thing to draw?

I've been trying to branch out from a fixed style (shoujo manga) to more realism. That style emphasizes conveying strong emotions through shorthand, but is not very good for learning proper anatomy.

I drew the same character (Rugan, BG3) over a period of about 6 months—I joke that he's my comfort character but I really learnt a lot about faces and male bodies from doing one thing over and over. I still struggle with his face but in different ways each time I redraw it.

🐑 Do you listen to/watch anything while you draw?

I like to watch chill video games streams (I really enjoy Day9TV's Mostly Walking series, and Secret Sleepover Society). These past few weeks I've been watching/listening to Dimension 20: Fantasy High Junior Year which I've followed from the beginning and I love!

I saw a post about Mostly Walking ‘s (Day9TV on youtubeI think?) playthrough of MID earlier this week, and them talking about “the learning curve of a Nancy Drew game” got me super interested in how their first playthrough went.

Long story short, I’m like 4 hours into watching them play SAW and LOSING MY MIND. Omg its both fascinating and immensely frustrating. I keep shouting about stuff that seems so obvious to me as someone who literally only plays ND games.

Anyway, now I’m super interested in seeing how Clue Crew members would be in trying to play other adventure games. Like, would we struggle just as much because we don’t know how to play “traditional” adventure games. Would it be just as frustrating to, like say, “normal gamers” watching ND purists attempt to play other popular non-ND games? I really want to find out 😂

I’ll confess, I have not gamed much as of late, apart from BoTW on the Switch. That said, I consider myself PC gamer first, then console second.

There is some irony in that the first year AMD has a competitive chip, Intel is the top billing sponsor for the event. Since this is occurring in the middle of the work day, I’ll only be able to occasionally check live-blog/twitter for updates.

Considering how much we already know, the real formality is getting the new Intel gear into more people’s hands - reviewers, and not just for random LN2 bench runs, that have no application for 24/7 use. Anyway, that’s scheduled from 9:15 AM PST, 45minutes ahead of the PC Gaming Show itself.

Really damn glad to see Day9 as a returning host for the event. Curious to see what’s in store for 2017.
