To the Flooded Lands!

It's been a while since I updated, but here's the latest bit of my Ironsworn campaign map. This is in the Flooded Lands; Aestrid just completed an extreme journey to get here from the Barrier Hills. Her next goal is to tackle Deeprot Bog and slay a basilisk that makes its lair there. She's been receiving prophetic visions of it, ever since watching over Tancrede's funeral pyre unlocked the Seer asset.

The foe entry for basilisks contains the following prompt:

The adventurer set out to slay a basilisk, only to become its next meal. Because the serpent digests its prey slowly, the remains of the adventurer are still undoubtedly within the beast — along with the heirloom sword he wielded. What is your relationship to this person? Why is recovering the sword so important to you?

I intend to claim that sword, resolve my seer-gifted visions, and use it as the fictional positioning to unlock the last pip of the Blademaster asset, which requires you to wield "an iconic blade". Hopefully the oracles will give me something nice to roll into Aestrid's backstory, too, and I can make a little progress on her background vow at the same time.

Kai's Chart Debut Reviews: Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Charts (10/12/24)

Interesting week. Under Your Spell almost top 10, KEEP UP dropping places, and a set of interesting debuts on our hands here (am very surprised Home did not debut tbf).

23: CHRYSTAL - The Days (NOTION Remix): NOTION is an artist I've known for a while for some of their stuff on DEEPROT (amazing channel for bass house and likewise check it out). To see them make it on the charts is a big moment. The remix does take time to get going but when it does, my god, an amazing drop, coupled with banging production and a solid set of vocals does the trick. Great great song, I hope it sticks around. (9.5/10)

43: FISHER & AR/CO - Ocean: Despite considering FISHER's career dead since the shit disaster that was Somebody (2024), I am really not surprised this charted. I am very mixed on this one though. For starters, FISHER's production feels alright but the vocals sound kind of annoying. And what the fuck is "You got me ocean" supposed to mean? An okish piece of tech house music overall. (5/10)

45: fennecxx & DJ ALEX - Spooky: Every single day I think "Brazilian phonk" will fall off but it doesn't and another random song sticks around for a long time. This song is way too overblown, distorted annd in your face. No. (sidenote: DJ ALEX is fuckin 13 years old god damnit I feel old asf) (2/10)

The Gentleman had told him very plainly that if he tried to play for tips in his establishment that he had to pay a cut to the house, so he’s playing just for the sake of it- providing dramatic back-up music to Jester and Beau messing around in the makeshift fighting ring. With his inspiration, Jester manages to land a few hits, but Caleb, seeing him cheating, puts a spell on Beau that allows her to pummel poor Jester into the ground.

From across the room, Caleb, licorice still in his mouth, meets Molly’s eyes and raises a challenging brow and Molly sticks his tongue out at him, playfully. He’s certain he can keep this flirtation going for a good long while when Cree, appearing like a phantom just when he believed her to be gone for good, clears her throat behind him.

“Ah. Sorry to interrupt. It has just been so long since I’ve heard you play.”
