Modified from the pattern "Velociraptor" by Megan Lapp (Crafty Intentions) The body is crocheted in acrylic yarn, then wired and stuffed with poly-fil. I followed the velociraptor pattern up to the end of the body, then did my own thing for the head and neck, as well as all the detailing. Details were added with needle-felting and dry-brushing with chalk pastels, then lightly brushing over the body with a thin! coating of Mod Podge. The result isn't exactly soft or fluffy, but due to the wire frame, almost every part of it can be adjusted for posing: the tail, neck, head, arms, legs, and feet, so it's perfect for display. 10" tall x 13" long.

Posted about my hatred of the deepstalkers on Bluesky and someone was like oooo but they can be iridescent and I'm here to say this doesn't make them better.

Now they look like mutant versions of the dinosaur toys I used to play with back in the late 80's/early 90's. Call Captain Planet these things look like they were rolled in oil and sent off to wreck havoc.

No one likes this, lol.

Also, Mythal's sword looks like something out of Sailor Moon.

can i vote for the tethras crest having deepstalkers like in the style of the cadash tarot card in inq. could even surface level look similar to the vael heraldry which would be delightful (i.e. three deepstalkers surrounding an object, though in a different style than the vael one ofc)

this is so sexy and wise and true but i’m completely losing my mind over the fact that i, someone who has spent a not inconsiderable amount of time thinking of and playing cadash, didn’t even clock that the cadash tarot card was deepstalkers. truly losing it. i thought they were just fucked up lampreys i dont know

edit: whatever it has i do think it should have two critters not three, framed as if in combat, as the tethrases have very literally been doing cain and abel type behaviour since there were first tethrases. just as starkhaven having three beasts is crazy for seb who had two brothers
