It's finally here. The season of candlelight and coziness. Weather is slowly cooling. The nights are colder and everyone around looks more sleepy in the morning. The only thing I miss is daylight. Hello! yes I have, let me attach it here:

I’m loving your solas work [I’m late to the party] How do you see Solas in terms of shapes? At first I was seeing triangles but he wont come out right for me. How do you see him?

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy it! 😊 He has quite the dramatic face! but I don’t think of geometrical shapes when drawing at my usual level of stylization really! I think this technique is great for character design and especially for animation but a higher level of abstraction than the one I use is needed to reduce a character into a single shape like repeating triangles or circles! I do reduce and stylize though, by trying to find some rythms, I use a lot of curves in general in the way I draw regardless of what I’m drawing, so the triangles don’t work for me either, I have to force the straight lines in sometimes 😆 I have this structure I mentally go to that is like a very simplified reilly method I suppose? I don’t actually draw the structure but I do have this in mind when I draw his face, it is something like this 

so the T area and the cheekbone curve are what I use the most to sort of anchor the face, I’m not sure if I’m making sense but they are my guidelines for the rest of his features and the volume of the head, I’m no expert though! this is probably not the best way to draw a face but it works for me 😆 I hope it helps!

also I wanted to add I’m sorry for the late reply, I never really get to answer all asks, the truth is I manage to reply to around ¼ of them at random and I’ve been particularly slow these days because I’ve been waiting for a really important work email that has my already high anxiety levels through the roof and social media is not the best place to be when in that state of mind 😆 so I apologize to everyone for being so quiet lately!! I got a ton of asks these past couple of weeks with super cute prompts and ideas that I’m dying to reply to and maybe doodle a few and I’m waiting for some peace of mind to do it properly ;;

love to see updates on how you feel about characters in Code Geass as it goes on.

I’m almost finished episode 12 and so far: 

Suzaku is a handsome cinnamon roll and I’m in love with him. He’s naive to the point of stupidity (”optimistically trusting the system” that declared war on his country, killing countless numbers of people, and basically enslaved his people and leaving them with zero rights in their own homes? Babe, no)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Lelouch is a melodramatic bitch but I kind of dig it. I want to see him stay focused on wiping out the royal family and really deal damage on Britannia, but I feel like everything might get sidetracked. We’ll see.

The Britannia students' ignorance can get on my nerves, especially in moments where the others are fighting for their lives and people are getting gunned down, and they’re pouting and whining about Lelouch being missing, but it’s not really their fault. They’re sheltered kids. And the friendship group is pretty cute ngl

Kallen, on the other hand, is kind of The Worst. I enjoy her moments of badassness in the field, but after I saw how she treated her own mother, I just... couldn’t like her

No real opinion about C2. I hate the “mysterious young girl who was used as a weapon by the military” trope, because it often involves long lingering shots of her naked (which it definitely does in this case), but I kind of like her as a character. 

I have no emotional attachment to the Black Knights aside from the fact that Lelouch needs warm bodies to enact his plans (yikes)

Meet Sam. @tectonicrhythms . We met in Big Sur Cali last week at Big Surreal Festival. He lives in Oregon. I drove here over the past few days to study with him. Upon arrival he gifted me the sacred deer drum with a Holly beater. Deer is sacred animal medicine for gentle, stillness, compassion, beauty. Holly tree is sacred plant medicine for wisdom, God energy, strength, come and go, ebb n flow, sacred masculine.
