i mapped out every state that had a "-natural" tag and this is what i learned
Tumblr media
methodology
i did the tumblr search for [state]natural and sorted by recent.
i counted by hand how many unique users posted in the tag. this is flawed because tumblr search index sucks ass and also people might have me blocked for whatever reason
if a state ended with "N" i did two searches, ex: michiganatural vs michigannatural.
for states with two-word names i searched by name as one word, second word if it wouldn't be confusing, and state abbreviation (ex: newyorknatural, jerseynatural, wvnatural)
(i would search "jerseynatural" to find new jersey, but i wouldn't search "mexiconatural" to find new mexico. "carolinanatural" would return results for both carolinas, etc.)
this search does not use pejorative tags (ex: i have used massholenatural before. maybe you guys should learn to drive tho.)
takeaways
mean including every state without a tag: 1.65. mean excluding 0: 4.42
mode is either 0 or 1
median is either 0 or 1
i havent taken stats since high school. here are some tiny box plots
Tumblr media
there are no posters for kansasnatural, the state where sam and dean both live and are from
people from massachusetts are annoying
anyway this was a fun way to procrastinate producing my short film 💖

in delawarenatural, they hunt no less than 15 dupont ghosts. the locations are increasingly ridiculous - at first it's like, in the winterthur museum, which makes sense, but the last one is in an abandoned shack off 13 in lewes. there is no recorded history of a dupont ever being there.

What Supports the Food and Agriculture Industry in Delaware?
According to the Secretary of Agriculture Michael T. Scuse, the food and agriculture business in Delaware is the “number one industry,” and “family farms are crucial to supplying a variety of food from poultry and meats, fruits and vegetables, and many value-added products.” Corn is the leading crop, broilers (chickens raised for meat) are the most valuable agricultural product, and apples are the top fruit. Most of Delaware’s farmland is dedicated to commodity crops like soy, wheat, and corn to support the poultry industry.

Delawarenatural and ⅓ of an episode is devoted to the casapulla's vs capriotti's debate every season.
Dean is a capriotti's man (because you can get a whole Thanksgiving meal on a sandwich) Sam is pro-casapulla's (at least until capriotti's offers vegetarian options)

Delawarenatural is just like:
"You boys aren't from around here, huh?"
"Oh, yeah, we grew up in Delaware."
"What state is that in?"
