Great Demon King Koopa

There is a lot of information and imagery in the games that connects Bowser the King of the Koopas to some more hellish imagery.

First off his Japanese name is Daimaou Kuppa, which translates to either Great Satan Bowser, Great Demon King Bowser, or Great Demon King Koopa. Which definitely matches up a lot. Side note yes the literal translation of Daimaou isn't always supposed to be literal.

There is also the various castles Bowser has built over the years. Many of them have an entrance where you enter through Bowser's mouth, which seems to be similar to a hellmouth. This Castle design shows up in Super Mario 3D Land, Paper Mario 64, Mario Kart Double Dash and Wii, Paper Mario: The Origami King, and even The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

There is also the fact that World 8 the Koopa Kingdom is often depicted as a hellish landscape, aka the Bowser Badlands or Dark Land.

Note this is just making some connections with this type of imagery, it's best seen as a hypothesis. By no means is this useful for satanic panic nonsense.

Hey everyone I guess I'll be sharing the new first-year witches that were introduced in this game :D I'll try translating their in game descriptions and names as best I can however please take these translations with a grain of salt. I'm using google translate and some of these give clearer descriptions than others >_<

Mint - Earth Witch (Main Character 1)

What's up with almost all the new girl's names being after some sort of fabric? Even the year 2 new girl (who I'll get to later) whose name translates to Cotton. Also got mixed feelings about both Mint and Daisy's character descriptions and the in-game mangas (which I'll also share) about their possible implied relationship.

Until someone comes along with better translations, this is what I got for now. Again, please take this with a grain of salt this is just what I could understand from the jumbled mess thats was google translate >_<

Funny Scene from Demon King Daimao

I decided to watch the first thing I came across that I had never seen before and didn’t look too awful. I landed on Demon King Daimao and thought the blurb sounded interesting enough, and hey - a dragon. How bad could it be?

It's not great by a mile, but is fun in its own way. The story has some real creativity to it, a healthy dose of characters that are far from original but still manage to be likeable and people you end up rooting for, and, yes, there is most definitely a dragon. Every bad anime cliche surfaces at least once, many become constant barrages. The fanservice is so far overdone that it becomes ridiculous trying to take some of the characters and arcs seriously. The harem aspect becomes stupid once characters turn on a dime and change, and all of it is so slanted towards the protagonist it's hella eyeroll.

All that said, though, I didn't think DKD was all bad. I liked parts of it quite a bit, actually. Demon King Daimao is just one of those that you kind of have to take the bad with the good to enjoy. The climax is still just about every kind of wtf, but there were enough smiles and turns along the way that I kept watching up to and through it, and in the end Daimao just is what it is: Kind of good, kind of not.

Not throwing a recommend at Demon King Daimao, but there are definitely way worse shows out there. If you're bored and have a few hours to kill, it just might be the way to spend your day.

Re:ZERO Season 2 Tops Summer 2020 TV Anime Ranking Voted by Japanese Fans

One month after the "anticipation ranking" was announced in early July, Japan's largest mobile phone operator NTT Docomo reported the result of its regular online research survey to ask the users of its streaming service dAnime Store which summer 2020 TV anime they were still watching as their favorites.

  The survey was conducted for one week between July 24 and 31, and a total of 69,421 votes were cast for the 29 titles that were available via the service. The ranking includes some of the spring 2020 TV anime that were canceled during their original broadcast period and had been postponed to the summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater, Food Wars! The Fifth Plate, and APPARE-RANMAN!
