"....you're less weird than the rest of our kind.." a cartoonishly proportioned creature chuckles approaching the imposing demoness, his legs short and muscular, his torso disproportionately tall and oddly chiseled, eyes like lime gemstones and head adorned with a ring of six small horns "why don't you look like a failed painting?"

The Demoness looked up from her grimoire with an inquisitive frown. Her eyes narrowed as she inspected the new comer; she didn't often get visitors. Brave company was too far and few in between, and just for the simple fact that he approached her no less, she was eager to know more of him.

"... I cann6t fath6m if y6u mean t6 c6mpliment 6r insult me," she didn't hold much emotion for either, "...th6ugh much can 6e said the same f6r y6u."

She closed the book and stood with her scythe in hand. She was a tall woman, towering over this oddly disproportionate man. Was he even a troll? Not like she could judge. She looked down at him with her milky white eyes and quirked a brow.

"...Wh6 are y6u, and why have y6u c6me?"

As he managed to look up at them. The entire reason, he was even alive, was Hantengu sorrow, was so great, that it manifested to create him, all he felt, was nothing other than complete and utter sadness. At the world around him, that humans and slayers, target an innocent person like Hantengu, and try and kill him, what has Hantengu ever done in his life, to deserve the harsh and horrid treatment he gets.

Nothing...

Hantengu was innocent, Hantengu was pure, Hantengu was a gentle soul, who just wanted to live in peace, but nothing, ever does go the way you wish for it, thus he and his brothers, have to be the ones, to protect Hantengu and kill .. anyone who dares try to hurt him.

An emotional being literally and figuratively. The essence of sorrow and wallowing spreading from this demon was somewhat suffocating to her. Even with the aura of calm the female prided herself in sustaining, she found the energy of the other a force to be cautious of. Her tone remained ever-gentle while speaking to this one. As true as sadness was to the very nature of this creature's existence, the air of contradiction seemed not too far off. Obviously laced within his words, his apparent purpose was to protect. Regardless of whatever the truth was to an outsider, one's reality is their truth, and arguing against it is meaningless.

If you are unable to open yourself up to the perception of another, your mind will forever cling to the 'truth' you live by... and interference can only make you cling harder. Demons were not always the most rational creatures. Some are gifted with an inhuman sense of intelligence and rationale. Others are simply given power and operate more akin to wild beasts... They are governed and created under a different set of circumstances than humans, reason and logic are not required to continue existing in this world. Nor are they required to abide by the whims of other demons... unless their existance is threatned to be erased or captivated by another.

"So you fight for him? Your burden is certainly a heavy one to bear dear one if this 'Hantengu' is truly so tortured... "

Perhaps, no amount of kindness or acceptance would penetrate such a being who was ruled by such grief and sorrow; but, the demoness was willing to try for curiosity's sake.

"If it is of any consolation to you, I have no intention to harm you or the one you fight for with such conviction... may I ask for your name?"
