so it's always a bit funny that they so often want to claim the name "american" for themselves.

Do you have any tips for getting your artwork seen by other people? I feel like every time I post it’s just crickets and it’s a little demoralizing sometimes
ahh I know that feeling. Unfortunately here on Tumblr there's no algorithm so you can't get more visibility by doing some annoying trend. I think sometimes it's a streak of luck + having good friends that will share your art tbh 😭 it takes time to build a following but reblogging your own art every once in a while can help with ppl who didn't see it bc of timezones, and fanart can help with visibility and getting more followers I think. But yeah there's really no real way to guarantee your art will get seen, but best of luck to you

cool and fun part of being chronically ill is deciding whether you want to just get blasted with Symptoms every day or take meds that will stop the symptoms but cause equally as bad, if not worse, side effects

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i know that being good at Everything isnt feasible, but it is Extremely Frustrating to be mediocre-to-okayish at a moderate number of things, but not actually excel at any of them
#like i can think of a number of things that im okayish at#(like sewing/raiding/fighting games/archiving/academic research/baking/etc)#but i never have the follow-through to actually like. put time and effort into overcoming my shortfalls and improving my strengths#so i stay steadfastly mediocre and either get surpassed by other people or flit to something else and repeat the whole cycle#and thats not an inherent moral failing on my part or anything. i DO know that its just another way to exist in the world#but it does mean that i very rarely have an Unambiguous Win#(whether thats finishing a project that turned out great or winning a fighting game set/tourney or not being the last to learn a mechanic)#and it is extremely demoralizing lmao#like yes the first step to being good at something is sucking at something. but what if i just always get stuck partway through that process#personal#negative ////////
