Now I don't know about you but when Dutch said during the Blood Feuds mission, "Who steals a God damn boy?" Arthur damn well thought, People could do worse to a boy. Men, somehow worse than him, would take away a boy's life for lesser reasons than stealing moonshine and horses.
Evil men would take away a little boy's life for ten dollars. Isaac had been learning to read at that time; he could have been a doctor, or a lawyer, or an author. Arthur had been teaching him to fish then. Maybe he had been hoping to teach him to hunt, too, or just fire a gun so he could take care of Eliza while he was away.
He could have been so much more than just a little boy, and he died because his only sin was being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Thinking about Dutch saying "I think I...well I mean WE...are going to be okay" at the end of The New South mission.
The other I/We slip ups seem to show he struggles to view the gang as anything but an extension of himself, and maybe that's the case with this one
but I read it as him saying he personally really needed that good day with Hosea and Arthur, he can feel himself unraveling and becoming more unhinged, the pressure of everything is really getting to him in ways he can't manage, he can feel their relationships straining under his paranoia, he doesn't like the path he is going down and he really, really needed this carefree day with his oldest friends to ground him and stop him from spiraling even more out of control.
he starts to say "I think I am going to be okay" and it doesn't feel like a matter of him catching himself talking about himself as a stand in for the gang, but catching himself admitting that he really isn't okay and using the gang as a stand in for himself to deflect from that.

my controversial tdv opinion is that mark seibert's krolock is good, actually. like i get why we clown on mark. i do. i do. but his krolock is actually. he's a bitch. he's a clown. he has the STRONGEST dad energy. he will PERFECTLY play the part of the lovestruck hero for sarah if that's what she wants and then will go and hiss at a bunch of vampires like they're misbehaving kittens.
other krolocks might have more consistent performances, but BECAUSE he switches it up so often it gives his krolock the feeling of being a fucking chameleon. he will lure you in by pretending to be so earnest and sincere and a little bit goofy and then he'll rip your throat out. and then he'll turn and go back to being a little goofy with his son.

Vandermatthews and charthur are so similar to me, not in their dynamics but in how the fandom treats them. There is an abundance of implications for both pairings, but because they are not explicitly said to be non-platonic anyone who ships them is "reaching" and is then suscepted to harassment.
The table scene with Hosea and Dutch, you're telling me they're not in love??
Charles saying "always" after Arthur asks him if he'll ride with him? That's something you'd say to a friend??
Even if there aren't any implications for ships, it doesn't matter (unless it's predatory or incestuous).

I saw this thing about drawing miku in clothes of our culture so because I'm from the Karneval Region of Germany (Near cologne) I had to draw Miku as a Funke Marie, really love how she turned out ^^

I want to expand on this idea in the future:
Dutch Van der Linde is the perfect analogy for the white saviour.
He presents himself as someone who believes in equality; however, he uses his progressive stand views as long as it's rewarded with praise, his support is very minimal (basically not being overtly racist) and receives praise over it, but is willing to overlook racism if it benefits him ( him letting Micah stay in the gang), his views are literally based on a privileged man pretending to understand the oppressed (Evelyn Miller, Lenny calls him out on this), he pretends to care and empathize with the structures of oppression but is very willing to exploit them anyways (the whole thing with the wapiti tribe).
at his core I think Dutch would see himself as a saviour -but the narrative itself shows who he really is, and what every white saviour at its core is: A fake hero.
Sure, Dutch's saviour complex and manipulation is evident with all characters, but to pretend that race or ethnicity doesn't hold a big role in how these dynamics work (especially on the time period) would be willful ignorance.

Whatever you do, don’t think about how Dutch knew he was wrong but still chose his stupid stubborn pride over Arthur while Arthur took his last dying breath hoping Dutch at least realized in the end that he wasn’t the rat and would try and right his wrongs.
Whatever you do, don’t think about how when Dutch has completely lost his mind he hears and sees Arthur everywhere and tries to touch him or talk to him but never seems to be able to get close enough or loud enough to reach Arthur.
Whatever you do, don’t think about the only last thing holding Dutch’s sanity together was probably that he thought Arthur had somehow made it off that cliff and got better because he knew Arthur was the strongest son of a bitch out there and that when he heard Micah confirm Arthur had truly died and Dutch had been living in denial and delusions that sanity finally snapped.
Whatever you do, Font think about how the the trolley accident probably is what truly made Dutch’s grasp slip. Yeah, he was always paranoid and narcissistic but he knew that, and was originally grateful for Hisea and Srtgut keeping him in reality. After Blackwater, he felt ashamed and guilty and that's why he felt the need to prove himself as right in ways so badly but then Hisea died and Micah was whispering around, and BAM! Now the fucker has a slow brain bleed and all sense of reason at that point are bets off.
Just don't.… don't go there. Leave that oath untraveled.
