Chapter one is finished! I’m not providing a synopsis because the chapter is pretty telling of what the story will be like, along with the tags.
I hope you enjoy the ride, as I had a lot of fun writing it! Keep in mind this is my first fanfic I’ve ever published publicly, so please be patient. These are new grounds for me :)
Chapter One
Grian runs.
He’s been running for a long time, but never has he sprinted so hard and so fast, his muscles burning, his legs aching with every stride he took. His lungs scream for air as he gasps, the cold air searing his throat as he pumps his arms even harder. The constant pain in his wings aren’t helping him concentrate on running, either. They’re badly bruised, rendering him unable to fly. And never before has Grian been so desperate to take to the air. Behind him, he hears nothing but the swaying branches and the leaves crunching under his feet. It’s eerily silent, shrouded with a deceiving quiet that only strikes more fear into Grian’s heart.
How have they found him so quickly?
They’d only been on the server for a couple of months. Everyone was still deep into their projects, Scar expanding his ever growing Swaggon business, Impulse adding details to his factory, Mumbo doing whatever Mumbo did, Pearl creating gorgeous builds… It wasn’t time to end this season. Not even close. They should have had more than a few more months before they caught up with him.
Grian’s body is burning now, more exhausted than he’s ever felt. He’s pushing himself far beyond his limits, and he still isn’t sure it’ll be enough. He just has to make it to Boatem… There, he can warn his friends, and they can flee the server as they always did when they inevitably caught up with him. Grian thought he had mastered this endless chase through worlds, thought he could stay one step ahead of them. But despite his efforts, he’s failed.
The ground is getting smoother and more worn down beneath his feet as he springs on. A good sign, it means he’s growing ever closer to civilization. He’s so tired, his legs numb and feet barely functioning. Almost there, just a little longer…
WHAM!
Grian smashes to the ground, barely managing to catch himself before smacking his face into the dirt. His foot’s caught on something, his exhaustion finally taking him down. Stumbling to his feet, he continues on, but now he can sense something behind him. They’re even closer now.
Finally, finally, Grian spots the familiar sight of the Boatem hole, a strange stack of boats and various items sitting precariously over a deep hole that lead to the void. By some miracle, all of his friends are sitting around it, engaged in conversation. He can save them, if only he can convince them in the minutes he had left before they caught up.
He can convince them.
He has to.
“…and then Grian unfroze midair and asked me what I was doing. It scared the heck out of me!” Scar is laughing, obviously telling some story to the group. Whatever it was cracks them up, and they’re all clutching their stomachs, laughing as Scar buries his head in his hands in fake embarrassment. Grian skids to a halt in front of them, hands on his thighs, gasping for air.
Scar turns to him, a smile spreading across his face as he greets the newcomer. “Well, speak of the devil! Grian, I was just telling them about-”
“(Gasp!) Scar, stop! They’re here, th—(Gasp!)—they’re coming! We need to leave!” Grian cuts him off, fumbling his words as he desperately tries to get them to understand what had happened. Scar’s face drops from his usual lopsided grin to a worried frown, and he reaches out to grab Grian’s shoulder in support. The others look on inquisitively. “Woah, Grian, buddy, calm down a sec. Take a moment to breathe, you’re exhausted-” Scar moves to let him take a seat next to him, but Grian waves him off.
“T-there’s no time, don’t you see?! (Gasp!) They- (Gasp! )they’ve caught up with us! W-we need to go, change servers, or it’s- it’s all over!”
The world is spinning and blurring around him, and hazy shapes seem to surround him as muffled voices call his name. <<Grian! Grian, are you ok?>>
<<Oh god, what happened to his wings?>>
They’re concerned, but not for the right reasons. They need to go, to run, not check on him!
<<What happened? What’s wrong?>>
<<How can we help?>>
No, it’s going all wrong. They don’t know the danger, don’t know what to do. Grian hasn’t told them, couldn’t tell anyone without putting them in danger. But he guesses it doesn’t matter anymore. There was no avoiding it, because despite his efforts, his friend’s are still in mortal peril.
Grian feels himself sink to his knees as the world tilts alarmingly. He feels nauseous, but he fights it. He needs to get the words out, or else it’s all over.
He manages one word before he feels them arrive.
“RUN!”
The world turns cold.
The wind stops blowing. His friends grow quiet and still.
Grian opens his eyes.
Everything has stopped. The grass no longer sways in the wind, the clouds are still above their heads. And, the most horrifying of all, his friends are frozen. Scar has his arm on Grian’s shoulders, his face covered in anxiety and concern. Impulse and Mumbo are crowded around him, tense and unsure of what to do. But worst of all is Pearl. She stands slightly farther back, but unlike the others, her eyes aren’t trained on Grian. She’s looking over his shoulder, fixated on something behind him. And she looks terrified.
Slowly, ever so slowly, Grian pushes himself up off the ground (gently brushing Scar’s arm off his shoulder in the process), and turns.
And the monster stares back.
Just like that, the world is gone. He’s floating in a vast purple void, alone with the one he’s been running from for years.
It’s a humanoid figure, cloaked in grey cloth and deathly silent. When it raises its head, Grian can’t see anything. It’s too shrouded in shadow to make out.
No. No, no no no no. This can’t be happening. It can’t end like this. Grian won’t let it. If he can’t save himself, he’ll at least save his friends.
He clenches his fists against his sides, his fear turning to hot, boiling rage, bubbling against his throat as the figure looks on, silent. Now that the worst has actually happened, Grian finds himself filled with unexpected bravery. After all, what does he have to lose?
“Leave them alone!” Grian spits at the thing, the years of barely contained fury finally boiling over. He arches his wings over his head in an effort to look more intimidating, ignoring the pain that seares through his bones. “It’s me you want, not them! I’ll go with you, do whatever you want, just leave. Them. Be!”
Grian knows that they work in strange ways. They can’t forcefully take him. He must agree of his own will first. But that doesn’t stop them from making his life hell. They have enormous power, and don’t care who they kill along the way.
Grian waits for an answer.
The silence seems to stretch forever.
But then the thing laughes. It’s a cold, calculating chuckle that chills Grian to the bone.
“Oh, little one. What a silly request you make.”
He holds his stance, watching the figure in front of him. It still doesn’t move.
“What we want is far from just you. You may be the key, but there are many more doors to open.”
Fingers turn to claws as he digs them into his palms, anger reverting back to horror. He chooses his next words carefully, attempting to hide the quiver in his voice.
“What will you do?”
It watches him. It’s been watching him for as long as Grian knows.
“That entirely depends on you, my friend.”
The word “friend” has a hint of malice etched into it, a stinging threat that hangs above them. They are not friends. Never have been.
“We are more merciful than you know. And so, we offer you a deal.”
A deal. That doesn’t sound good. A deal with them never goes well. Grian knows that more than anyone.
“We won’t follow you or your friends anymore. We’ll leave you be forever. No more running, no more hiding. No more living in constant fear.”
His breath catches in his throat. This was too good to be true. Too wonderful of a thought to possibly be real.
He waits for the other shoe to drop.
“But to receive this, you must pass out tests.”
Oh no.
“We have many trials for you to overcome. If you face them all, and win, you may receive our blessing. And if not… we take you and your companions.”
There it is. No gift ever comes for free, not when they’ve been hunting him for years. Not when he’s escaped every trap, every plan they’ve made to capture him.
This is all another ploy. Another mind game to try and get him on their side. Grian isn’t dumb, and he won’t let himself fall for it.
…But oh, it is tempting. Behind his outer confidence, Grian can feel the exhaustion lurking behind his eyes. He can feel the years of stress and fear in ever muscle, every bone. To be relieved of this burden would mean everything.
But suspicion is clouding his thoughts. Something is very wrong.
If he agrees to this, and fails, he can’t backout. A deal is an agreement and is just as binding, magic wise.
But he’s so tired. So tired of putting everyone he loves in constant danger, so tired of keeping them in the dark.
And so, he makes a decision.
“I accept on one condition. I will take your tests, and pass without fail. But in the event I do, you only take me. You leave everyone else alone. This is my one offer, so you better take it or leave it!”
Grian spits out those last words, malice coating his tongue. The formal tone he’s been using drops away, replaced with cold rage. He hates them, hates their games and their tricks. And he is done with it all.
The figure lifts its hands, which hide beneath the folds of it’s cloak. And for a moment, Grian swears he can see a toothy smile beneath the mask, dripping with purple blood.
“We accept your offer”
The purple world begins to fade into white. Everything is fuzzy and hazy, just like before. Grian fights it, fixing his eyes on the blurry grey shape in front of him. He shouts at it, panic and anger mixing together. “Wait! What do I need to do? How do I complete your task?”
For a moment, a strange symbol flashes between them. A glowing square, but with the edges strangely cut off, leaving dashed corners.
“When you wake, you will see.”
The voice is growing fainter, the world lighter, and Grian feels himself slowly slip away.
“But Grian… you forgot one thing.”
The voice is barely a whisper, nearly vanished into the pressing white. Grian has to strain to listen.
“You never said we can’t use your friends against you.”
Chilling horror spreads through Grian’s chest as the words sink in. He thrashes desperately, fighting against the haze.
“No!! No, I take it back, I take it back! Don’t hurt them! Take me instead!!” He screams, pounding at the walls of white mist enclosing him, weakening him. But his words fall on deaf ears, and it’s then when the white overtakes him.
The world fades out into nothing.
And Grian is gone.
The cloaked figure stands in the empty space for a few seconds more, staring at nothing. It turns, cloak swishing behind it, and slowly fades away, leaving the strange, empty world.
Only a whisper is left behind.
“A deal is a deal, Grian.”
….
All around the server, 11 players vanish.
….
A new world opens, receives, then locks.
And Scar opens his eyes to a world of sand.

I found old Desert duo AU notes
Don’t judge my writing please I’m bad at wrting in general lmao

Icarus and the sun: Desert duo
-
Icarus: Scar
Sun: Grian
-
Scar always talked with the sun, wanting to be with Grian up in the sky
Grian constantly pushed him away but he never minded to talk with him, even if Scar will never hear it
Eventually, Scar when he got wings, he flew too close to the sun, the wax from the wings melts, letting him fall
Grian tries to catch him (hug catch) by flying down
Scar at the end smiled, as he saw the appearance of the sun, falling happily to his death knowing that Grian cared. He welcomed the warmth as the sun came nearer, burning and melting him, leaving only ashes and dust at the end
As Scar slowly died in the arms of Grian, Grian couldn't process that his only friend (wow he admitted that he is his friend??? Woowow) was dying. That he died because of him. He was too in love with the thoughts of being near him
Tears formed into his eyes, these shall fall forever until he completely turned into stone
This is why the world turned into darkness, having a sun no longer :D

“Our Precious Son” - Desert Duo Dads AU
Commission I made for @upmostrylan
When Scar was running home, he was shielding himself from the pouring rain with his jacket, a blanket shielding his centaur body. He would fly home if he could, but his Elytra was broken and, even then, he didn't have any fireworks. Scar used his jacket to cover himself, but even then he was shivering and shuddering.
So, when Scar heard a baby crying, he could only imagine how cold he was.
His cat ears flicked, trying to pinpoint where the crying was. He ran over to it, seeing a baby basket with a tiny umbrella covering him. He was wrapped in a baby blanket and didn't look older than a few months. The boy had dark brown hair, tears streaming down his pale cheeks, nothing to protect him from the cold weather.
"Poor thing!" Scar exclaimed. He picked up the umbrella and basket, protecting himself and the baby from the rain, "Let's get you somewhere warm."
He walked home. Even though he was freezing, he didn't care. He could only imagine how cold the baby must be, poor thing. Scar got home and hung his jacket on the jacket hook before putting the umbrella down.
"Scar! About time, what- oh my god, what is that?!" His husband ran over, "A baby?! Oh my god, the poor thing is soaked!"
"I tried to protect him from the rain, but he was already wet when I found him!" Scar sighed, shaking his body on instinct, "Someone just left him, Grian. Left him all alone to... to die. I couldn't just-"
Grian picked the baby up from the basket, cooing and soothing him, "Scar, go take a warm bath and change, I'll help this little guy!"
"Okay."
Scar left to do as Grian said, the dirty blonde going to the sink. He moved all the dishes and cleaned it up before plugging the drain, filling the sink with warm water. Of course, not too hot to hurt the baby.
Grian removed the baby's clothes, the baby slowly calming down. Once the sink was filled, Grian gently placed him in the sink, careful not to let the baby dunk his head under.
"There you go..." Grian cooed, dipping his hand into the water and rubbing the baby's face, "Nice and warm, right?"
The baby just made some grunts and babbles, splashing the water a bit. Grian chuckled before humming. He closed his green eyes and reopened them, eyes turning purple as he used his magic.  Only four months old.  His eyes turned back to green, What kind of sick person just abandons a four month old? Especially in the rain? They're bound to get sick and die!
"Alright, I'm back." Scar walked over, dressed in new clothes with a towel around his neck, a larger towel resting on the back of his cat centaur body, "Nice and warm."
"He's only four months old." Grian said, using his hand to cup and pour the warm water on the baby's head, earning giggles, "Poor little guy..."
"...Grian, what're we going to do? Can you track his parents?"
"Scar, they're just going to abandon him again." Grian responded, "Only next time? Probably somewhere where no one finds him. We were lucky."
Scar hesitated, "But G, you and I...? We're not ready to just... house a baby!"
"I know but..." Grian sighed, "Who's going to take care of him? Mumbo can't, he  still doesn't know how humans work. Impulse loves kids, but he has said he doesn't want his own, at least not right now. Pearl is sort of nocturnal and that's no good for a baby. Everyone else lives far away! Little guy won't survive an air trip with an Elytra!"
Scar hesitated, ears lowering, "...I know all that, but... It's just... I want kids... I know you don't." He looked at his husband, "...I would love to care for this baby, you know that. But you? Do you want to?"
Grian blinked and looked at the baby, who was seemingly entranced by the faucet's head. The dirty blonde gently removed his hand from the faucet.
"Get me a towel?" Grian asked.
Scar did so. When he came back, Grian picked up the baby and wrapped him in the towel before holding him. The baby began sucking on his thumb and Grian gently removed it, using a little magic to give the baby a bee binkie.
The dirty blonde smiled, "I can make an exception... Especially because I feel bad for the little guy... I don't want to just... leave him like his scumbag parents."
Scar smiled and moved closer, cupping the baby's cheek in his hand, "We gotta give him a name. Can't just call him 'little guy' for the rest of his life."
Grian nodded, "Tubby."
"Tubby?"
"Yeah, cause he likes baths. And it's better than Sinky."
Scar rolled his eyes before shaking his head.,"How about Tubbo?"
"...Tubbo."
"Better than Tubby!"
"Shut up!" Grian playfully pushed Scar, the brunette laughing. He then hummed, brushing the brown bangs from the baby's face, "Tubbo... I guess it's a good name." He teased.
Scar chuckled, before smiling at the baby, "Welcome home, Tubbo."
***
"D-Daddy, Daddy!"
The two groaned, sitting up. Grian looked out the window, seeing the sun was still down.
"I got him." The dirty blonde smiled at his husband.
Scar hummed, "You sure?"
"Yeah, it's my turn anyways." Grian reassured.
Scar smiled, "I think Jellie is in the living room if Tubbo wants to cuddle with her? Or Maui and Pearl?"
"I'll ask him." Grian kissed his forehead before he left to the five year old's room.
He saw the poor boy on the bed, curled up on the bed, a blanket wrapped around him. Tubbo hugged his knees, shaking and crying.
"Oh, Tubby, what's wrong?" Grian cooed, sitting in front of him.
Tubbo looked up with teary blue eyes, his father wiping his eyes, "D-Daddy..."
"What happened, what's wrong?"
The brunette buried himself into the dirty blonde's chest, crying, "I-I had a n-n-nightmare! I-I w-was alone! Y-You and Papa w-weren't there! I-I was so scared a-and al-alone and-"
"Shhh, shhhh..." Grian cooed, wrapping his wings around Tubbo, "Shhhh, my Tubby, it's okay..." He gently pet his head, "It's okay... Scar and I will never, ever, ever,  ever  leave you. We love you so much, we could never leave you alone!"
"I-I don't w-want you t-to le-leave-"
"We won't. We will never, ever, ever, ever,  ever  leave you." Grian cooed, gently tilting Tubbo's chin up and wiping his eyes, "You are our little Tubby, why would we ever leave you? We won't. You're our son, we love you more than you ever know. You're stuck with me and Scar!" He gently tickled the boy's sides, Tubbo giggling, "You're stuck with us forever!"
Tubbo giggled, smiling at Grian.
"Feeling better?"
They turned and Tubbo smiled, "Papa!"
"Hey kiddo." Scar walked over, sitting on the floor, his body too heavy. He leaned forward and put his forehead against Tubbo's, purring, "You okay?"
"He's fine." Grian reassured, "Here, lay down, Tubbo. I'll teach you a trick for when you have nightmares."
Tubbo laid down, Scar kissing his forehead. Grian also kissed his forehead, the little boy giggling before he closed his eyes. Scar pulled the covers up, Tubbo cuddling into his bee plushie.
Grian gently placed his hand over Tubbo's eyes, his own turning purple, "This is a magic trick, Tubbo. Whenever you have bad dreams, just come to me and I'll help you. Repeat after me. Bad dreams, go away, I only want my good dreams to stay.'"
"Bad dreams, go away, I only want my good dreams to stay."
Grian's eyes glowed purple and he removed his hand, Tubbo passed out.
"What did you do?" Scar whispered as he and Grian snuck out of the room.
"Just made it so he won’t have any more nightmares tonight." The dirty blonde smiled, looking at his teasingly, "What, want me to do it to you, too?"
"Only if the dreams have you in it~!" Scar teased, the dirty blonde chuckling.
***
Ever since adopting Tubbo as their own, Grian sort of became the 'housewife.' He always liked to cook more than Scar (his husband preferred baking) and Scar... well, Grian wasn't a huge fan of cleaning, but he was much better at cleaning than Scar was. So, while Tubbo was at school, he and Scar would build and stock up their shops, and Grian would always end early to get home, make dinner, and clean up the mess before Scar came home with Tubbo. It's how they worked and how they lived, this was their normal.
One day, when Tubbo was 8, his husband and son came home as Grian was making dinner.
"Hey babe, what's for dinner?" Scar asked, walking over and kissing his cheek.
"Decided on something easy, so spaghetti."
Tubbo walked over and hugged Grian's legs, "Hi Dad!"
"Hi Tubby."
"Noooo!" The brunette teased, bouncing on his heels, "Tubbo! You can't call me Tubby anymore, I'm growing up!"
"In your dreams, maybe~!" Grian knelt down, kissing his forehead, "Now go wash up, dinner's almost finished!"
Tubbo giggled and left to wash his hands. Scar, once again, kissed Grian's cheek. The dirty blonde grabbed Scar's face and pulled him into a proper kiss. Scar hummed and kissed Grian back, holding onto his hips. Grian wrapped his arms around Scar's neck, humming as they kissed.
When they pulled back, Scar smiled down at the dirty blonde, "Hey there, handsome~ Miss me today~?"
"No, I just like kissing you~!" Grian winked.
"You are such a brat!" Scar kissed his neck.
"EWWWWW!!!" The two turned and Tubbo was sticking out his tongue, "GROSS!"
"What, you want kisses?!" Scar teased, pulling back from Grian and kneeling down, shaking his bottom half of his centaur body as if to "hunt"
Tubbo playfully screamed and began running, Scar pouncing. Grian laughed and finished up dinner as Scar grabbed Tubbo. He sat on his back legs, his front holding Tubbo to his chest before Scar began peppering kisses all over his face while their son screamed for help (playfully of course). Grian made three plates and set them up on the table, Scar and Tubbo stopping their playing and sitting at the table. They began talking about their days, Tubbo rambling about his day at school and what he and Tommy (his best friend) did. Once Tubbo was finished, Scar began talking about his day, Grian excitedly telling them how he's almost finished with the back of his latest build.
Tubbo suddenly hummed, beginning to pick at his food.
"What's wrong?" Grian asked.
Tubbo hummed, "...Dad, can I have a little brother?"
Grian blushed darkly, choking on air as Scar nearly spit out his water, face also becoming red.
"W-What?!" Grian exclaimed.
"Well, someone in my class just got a little brother! Well, he had to wait because the baby was growing in his mom's stomach, but I want one! Or a little sister, but I would rather have a brother." Tubbo explained, "So, can I have a little brother?"
"U-Ummmm...?" Grian looked at Scar.
Scar blinked before he shrugged, "I-I mean... L-Let Dad and I talk about it, Tubbo."
"So it's a yes?!"
"I-It's a maybe..."
Tubbo smiled and nodded happily.
Scar and Grian just looked at each other and blushed.
***
"You're not aging." Scar murmured as he preened Grian's feathers.
"You're surprised?"
"No, I just... Tubbo is sixteen now..." He continued gently stroking Grian's feathers, "He's going to question why I look thirty and you don't look a day over twenty."
"Twenty four, thank you very much! It's when I became a you-know-what." Grian replied before letting out a moan, his whole body shivering, "Ooooh!"
Scar chuckled, tail flicking back and forth, "Geez, I know you like preening, but can you not moan?"
"I can't help it!"
"I know, I'm just teasing."
"DADSSSS!" The two turned and Tubbo slammed the door open, a bright smile on his face. However, the brunette paused, blinking, "...Am I interrupting-"
"Preening, Tubbo." Scar interrupted, continuing to preen the dirty blonde's wings, "You hang out with Tommy too much."
Grian shivered as Scar got one specific itch.
Tubbo moved to sit beside Grian, smiling, "Well, speaking of Tommy, I have exciting news!"
"Yeah, what's up?" Grian sighed.
"I'm going to move with Tommy!"
Grian sat up, "WHAT?!"
Scar gasped, "Woah, easy there!"
"You're doing what?!" Grian exclaimed, sitting up fully.
Tubbo smiled, "Him, Phil, Wilbur, and Tech are all moving to a new part of the world! Something about Kristin finding a new home for them? I don't know, don't talk to her much! I want to move with them!" He then frowned, "I... I love it here, Dad. Love it here with you and Pops, but I... I want to see more of the world! I'm not as good a builder as you and Pops, but I can make my own stuff, or I can get my own diamonds, set up my own shops! Or even just have fun exploring, like you guys did!"
"Tubbo..." Grian murmured.
Scar pulled Grian to his chest and smiled, "When are you guys moving?"
"Y-You'll let me?!"
"It'll be hard, but... well, we can't keep you here forever." The brunette then pinched Grian's cheeks, "As much as your pesky bird father wants to."
"Phil says he wants to move Friday!"
"Then go pack your stuff!" Scar teased.
Tubbo smiled brightly and hugged Grian and Scar tightly, kissing their foreheads and ranting to himself as he ran to his room.
Grian frowned, wings lowering, "...Scar..."
"Everyone has to leave the nest, G." Scar gently hugged him, his front legs resting on Grian's thighs.
"...If he leaves, I can't protect him." Grian hugged himself, "If he leaves, they will go after him."
"No they won't."
"Yes they-"
"Gri, do they attack me?" Scar said, "No. They know not to attack us. You will attack back and you're so strong." He then lowered his voice, "They know I'm your husband and he's our son. You already attacked them when they killed me and nearly destroyed the world. Imagine what you can, and will, do if they even think about hurting our boy?"
Grian sighed and huffed, "I hate it when you're right."
"I know." Scar chuckled.
"Dad, Pops!" Tubbo came back into the room, one bag packed, "...Are you guys sure you want me to move?"
"I don't want you to move." Grian teased with a smile, "Want you to stay here with me forever!"
"Dad, stop! I'm trying to be serious!" Tubbo laughed.
Grian smiled, "I know..."
Scar smiled as well, "We trust Phil and Kristin. We know you'll be safe with them. So we don't mind." He then playfully glared, "But you have to tell us if anything bad happens and feel free to call, we all have communicators! And make sure to visit every so often! And-"
Tubbo chuckled, "I get it, I get it! I'll keep in touch!"
Scar chuckled, Grian smiling softly. He reached out and the brunette hummed, taking the other's hand.
Grian pulled Tubbo into his lap, wrapping him in his wings, "...Tubbo... Can I ask you something? Something serious?"
"Okay...?" Tubbo responded, confused.
"...Have you ever seen... something dark? Like, a shadow with purple eyes? Or... anything with purple eyes?"
"Hmmm... no, not that I remember?"
"Okay, good. Promise me, if you see anything, and I mean anything with purple eyes, you call me immediately, okay?"
Tubbo faced Grian, "Dad, what-"
"Just promise me, Tubbo. I just need you to promise me."
"...I promise."
"Good." Grian hugged Tubbo tightly, "...I love you, Tubbo."
"I love you too, Dad. And you too, Pops." Tubbo smiled, "You guys are the best!"
"So you're leaving the best?" Scar teased, causing Grian and Tubbo to laugh.
Grian hugged Tubbo in his wings, kissing the back of his head, "We love you so much, Tubby."
The teen just smiled, rolling his eyes at the nickname. The three just smiled and cuddled, Scar purring, Grian's wings fluttering happily, and Tubbo leaning into his dads.

I have made another au… :3
Tumblr media
Grian is death and Scar is life
vv Doodles of them in other poses vv
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also more info under the cut :3
Death, aka. Grian, goes around putting creatures to rest, anything he touches will die, there is no way around it. The only thing that hasn’t died to his touch is Life, aka. Scar though, Scar wasn’t left the same after, the touch has darkened his fingers and basically they are almost unusable due to it.
Grian has felt horrible ever since and does his best to avoid Scar, Scar on the other hand doesn’t blame Grian, and continues trying to get near Grian and speak with him. As far as they know these two are the only ones with power such as theirs.
These two live in a world where there is little to no humans wandering around, most things on the planet are creatures/animals/plants. All the humans know of their existence but no one knows how death looks as everyone who’s seen him has died, life is popular among the humans (obviously) and they treat Scar with the highest respects if seen. Humans have no modern technology, think of it as the middle ages type of grasp of on world.
I might make a small story or add other hermits into this, but only if I get more ideas for what they’d be.
But honestly I may just make the other hermits humans in the world who have their own little city. I will probably doodle this au more, but that depends on my creativity on it heheh

I AM GOING TO SHOUT A LOT
Buttercup Trio right, they have me in a CHOKEHOLD. I am INSANE ABOUT THEM. I need to talk about them or I WILL EXPLODE!!!!
So now I'm gonna talk about them in the Feather's Embers AU.
Grian invites Mumbo and Scar to sleepovers, Scar choses a random movie and Mumbo is frightened because its horror. Grian sits on the couch with Mumbo hiding behind him, Scar leans a bit too far to the right and ends up asleep over Grian's lap like a tired cat. Mumbo falls asleep with his face in Grian's shoulder and Grian can't help but to feel this soft and warm feeling despite the fictional atrocities going on on the television.
Scar works at his cafe, the Goodtimes Cafe, and Grian and Mumbo come in bantering about paint colors, Grian complains about Mumbo's overuse of teal in his apartment but Mumbo honestly doesn't see the problem. Scar sides with Mumbo just to frustrate Grian more and Grian tries to show the busied Scar that the shades of paint Mumbo wants to use are far too close, and Mumbo flicks Grian in the forehead. Then as they sit down to eat and drink Scar joins them because there's no line at the counter, and they talk about old gossip and heroes on the other side of the world.
Mumbo has an online centric job and he can just bring his laptop and charger wherever, so he goes to Grian's bakery and Scar's cafe, choosing his favorite booth from each business to sit in for his working period. Sometimes Grian and Scar will join him on their breaks or when business is slow, and Mumbo will save his work and close his laptop to talk to them about whatever they want to talk about. Mumbo notices how close Grian and Scar are starting to get whenever he's around them, and to himself, Mumbo mutters that they're both hopeless while shaking his head because he sees the way Grian smiles at Scar, and he sees the warmth Scar's eyes hold when looking at Grian.
Together the three sit and declare their official trio name because they're against the city's biggest villain, The Doctor, who is part goat and allergic to buttercups.
The Buttercups are such a trio to me I literally go insane over them for at least half the day I'm bonkers I'm bonkers
