Happy Blorbo Blursday!
What is your character's greatest fear? (ex: being alone, not being good enough, loved one dying, etc.)
~Morri🗡 (@memento-morri-writes)
oh man it's way past blorbo blursday, sorry- but hm...Devrin Gray's greatest fear is not making his mark in the scientific community. He's a go big or go home kinda guy. If he's not making history with his research, he doesn't want it.

in this episode of The Spirit Well, Devrin Gray is back and I am delighted:
[Devrin] gave a slight bow to the head of the division, strode off towards the hall door—then paused with a grin in front of Cal’s desk. “Ah, Ms. Breslin. I’d heard you’d joined the Council.”
All eyes landed on her. Cal pretended like none of them were there.
“Indeed I have.” She smiled at him. “Are you well?”
“Never better. Are you running the show yet?”
A tricky question, with both her rival and boss within earshot.
“Simply doing my best,” she said brightly. Dev scoffed.
“If they’re not idiots, you’ll be running it in a month.” He tapped her desk. “Let’s have tea next time I’m in the city, yes? And bring that spirit of yours.”
“Of course.”
“And that musical arm candy as well.”
Somewhere in the distance, Cal was sure Emry’s ears were going red. She tried not to laugh at the thought.
“I’ll be sure to bring them both,” she said. “Have a good trip, Dev.”

WIP: The Stray Spirit
Devrin Gray
30, he/him
Mr. Devrin Gray, or Dev, is a trans scientist thriving at the fringes of mainstream science. His specialty for ten years now has been surges. What causes the earthquakes, shining trees, and waves of white energy particles that strike the south every five years? Why do they kill every forty years or so? And why do they seem to be getting stronger?
Confident, daring, and messy, Dev is the trio’s final and most important resource in their own surge investigation.
Cal folded her arms.
“Just because they rejected your thesis doesn’t mean they won’t listen to me.”
“Cal!” Emry looked to her, then over to Dev. He just smirked.
“So they told you about that, did they?”
Aspen stepped in before Cal could continue.
“How did you suspect that a wave was coming?”
Dev just sipped his tea.
“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”
Cal dug into her satchel and pulled out her notebooks.
“As a scientist, you might think the origin of this information is a little unusual-“
“I like unusual.” He gestured with his teacup. “Go on.”
