today is an important day-it is nico hischier's birthday. in honor of that, here's a rec list of some top tier nico fics!
collision course by greenteam : i have said it once and I will say it again, but greenteam always puts out some of my favorite aus, and this jack/nico fic is no exception
fire and flood by pretty_vacant: the devils ferda omegaverse is actually something that can be so personally. i have read this many times, and it always slaps
i want your belly (and that summer feeling) by clementiae: ngl this nico/bratter fic is just like. next level good. nothing will beat the high of reading this for the first time
this is where we both break free by overturnedgoal: obsessed with how they write nico/jack and also y'all know i love to read fics about trans joy
blood and oil by wilderhockey: exquisite concept (cyborgs! dystopia!) and also just as exquisite dynamic and banter between jack and nico. one of my favorite nico characterizations
lionheart by aliquis: prince nico/bodyguard jonas is actually the most apt depiction of them ever. I am, in fact, fully obsessed with this. 100000/10
i knew him well by adjacently: love is stored in the kitchen and also in getting into fwb situations with a healthy does of pining. my best friend's brother by victoria justice etc etc
take my hand, wreck my plan by passengers: absolute top tier nico/nolan fic right here (to no one's surprise, since it is ao3 user passengers). there is fake dating and nico is a teacher, what else could you need?
never bet the devil your head by philtatoi: as a noted lover of all of philtatoi's work, i do really love their devils fics most of all. this one has pining AND supernatural elements-truly has it all
kiss me on the mouth (and set me free) by coastalhighway: the vibes of this jack/nico fic are absolutely incredible, and it has some of my favorite world building. spectacular!!!
take the wheel by greenteam: if u see me reccing a second greenteam fic pls mind ur business!! this jacknico street racer au is, in fact, perfection! if i could lovingly kiss this fic on the forehead i would!
(self rec disclaimer but my jack/nico college au will always be one of my favorite things i've written)

2010s BOLLYWOOD ! -- TOP 236 FILMS OF 2010s BOLLYWOOD !
INDIES TOP 236 FILMS OF 2010s BOLLYWOOD !
With westernized Bollywood on the throes of its mini-liberation from old school film-making, the 2010s gushed in bringing an unsettling western-modelled ‘dark art’ culture along, dominated by mission ideas of dechauvinizing art societies, that laced with a new generally hyper-aggressive female liberalization pitch, & a more deeply politicized grain of art that Indian mainstream culture had surely never seen before. If to offer an interesting analogy, the 80s Bollywood revisited, but with female action heroes in lead, fighting the feminine way forward, & with 80s alternate cinema mode of art, breaking in to acquire & establish itself as the new mainstream Bollywood core.
That said, a decade that saw, the by now totally & utterly multi-nationally corporatized Bollywood, via fiscal networking, bring an amazing to the point of mysterious, further average 5 times growth in box office collection figures, over the previous decade no less. If to offer an imaginary comparative analysis, films that wouldn’t stand 2 days in cinemas in old Bollywood systems, now raking in cool 50-60 crs + worth of net biz!
If the 2000s ushered in “New Bollywood”, the 2010s transformed it beyond recognition.
Hold Indies hand, through the decade’s best most presentable art from “Genetically modified Bollywood”. A collection that can well be described as the best of “Intelligent Bollywood”, with John Abraham & his array of patriotic spy thrillers infused with praiseworthy integrity ruling the roost at Indies, followed by the talented Arshad Warsi & his modern classic courtroom drama exposing the deep root in the nation’s police & legal systems, a classic investigation drama on the corrupt bio-chemical industry, as also a slew of modern classic to highly entertaining comedies, following closely next. Also noteworthy being the super-legendary late Farooq Shaikh (in Indies All-Time Top 20 Actors!) registering no lesser than 6 films in the last 3 yrs of his marvellous career!
Till we meet again.

End of year sappy post
We all knew this was coming especially after this shitshow of a year so let’s all be sappy together 😂 I just want to say I appreciate every single person who followed me, interacted with my fics or posts or just said hi. It means so much to me to have this safe space and have people who love and support me.
Special mentions:
@eeyore101247 - Lolo, my best friend, my stitch. I love you so so much. I can’t imagine surviving this year without you. We grew a lot closer this year and became best friends in a rather unconventional way but I wouldn’t change it for the world. You might live far away but you’re close in my heart and every time I give my stitch plushie a hug I think of you. You make me smile and laugh and cry and game/movie nights with you are my favourite. I love when we share tiktoks and fic ideas and hype each other up. I love you to the ends of the earth and back. Thank you for being by my side and for being my best friend.
@angelhaz11 - CAREBEAR! I know you’re not on tumblr much anymore but I couldn’t do a sappy post without mentioning my carebear. You were one of my first friends here when I first started and now you’re one of my bestest friends. You always make me smile and laugh, you go out of your way to help me and others and radiate such sunshine and positivity. I hope you know I’m always here for you just as you are for me and I will always be here to hype you up and support you no matter what. I hope we have lots more friend nights next year on discord because I love hanging out with you and maybe that you’ll finally be able to come to London!
🌿 anon - I know I don’t know your name but I really wanted to mention you because for the past few weeks you’ve been making me smile with your asks. You appeared when I was going through a really rough time and your strength and positivity inspired me and others. I know this year has been rough for you and I really hope it gets better because you deserve the world lovey. I hope you keep talking to me and stay because I will always be here for you and even though I don’t know you I love you a lot. Thank you for being you and for coming to my blog.
@mayberosey - My bubs. In the short time I’ve known you (which feels like forever btw) you have been like my anchor in the stormy sea that is 2020. You’ve stuck by me through a lot of drama and hurt and I don’t know how you’ve put up with me but thank you for everything. I will always be here for you too even when things are tough. You’ve pulled me out of the darkness a lot of times and I hope I do the same for you. You’re a blessed angel and I love you so so much.
@glowunderthemoon - Fay I love you so much. Whether it’s convincing you to join tiktok and laughing about them, helping each other out with rants and advice or just talking about the state of Britain haha. You’re one of my favourite people to talk to on this site even if I suck at replying. Also your fic ideas are always so amazing and I will get the motivation to write them soon I promise because I want to do them justice. You’re so smart and kind and talented, more than you know and I love you.
@parkerpeter24 - Cookie! you are one of the kindest and sweetest people I’ve met on here. I know we don’t talk as much as we should because I’m a shy bean and don’t know what to say but you’re one of my favourite people on this site and in this fandom. Your interactions with your mutuals are always so sweet and even thought I need to catch up on your writing I know you’re so talented. I love you and I hope we can talk even more next year!
@farfromparker - Jade! In my eyes you are the sub smut queen and you inspired me to start writing that kind of smut which I now love. You are so  so talented and your writing is amazing, you’re one of the writers I look up to on here and I still have many more fics to read which I can’t wait to do. You’re also so sweet to talk to and even though I was a little intimidated by you at first, I’m so thankful to be able to call you one of my mutuals. I love you and I hope you have a good new year love!
@hollands-weasley - Addie! We only started talking recently even though we’ve been mutuals for a while because we’re both shy baby beans haha. You’re honestly one of the sweetest people I’ve met and I love you. I’m so sorry about the drama you’ve been through lately, you don’t deserve it, you deserve the world. You’re now officially my favourite Gryffindor and my sweetie hehe.
@cosmicvibecheck - Div Dev! the Tom to my Haz, the Elsa to my Anna and the Ned to my Peter, I love you and I’m so happy we started talking again. You always make me laugh and have great recommendations for me to watch and read and listen to. You’re so talented and creative. You’ll always be the other half of the dream team and I can’t wait to start working together again and helping each other out. I love you, you div.
@theliterarymess - my British buddy! I can’t wait to talk to you more next year because you’ve easily become one of my favourite people. You’re my British TV soulmate and I love you. You’re funny and kind and sweet. I will always be here for you to rant to or just to send tiktoks and hype you up.
@fallinfortom - Adeline, you are a beautiful soul and one of the blogs I look up to. You are so strong and talented and sweet. I love talking to you even though I’m shy and I can’t wait to binge your master list soon hehe. Your blog is amazing and you’re just one of my favourite blogs. I love you.
@lovelyblossomcherry - Nida! I’m so grateful to have met you even through slightly weird circumstances. You are the sweetest person I’ve met and you always lift your friends up and radiate positivity. You’re a ray of sunshine and I really hope we stay friends and talk more because you’re awesome and I love you.
@spideyspeaches - Kriti! You’re so so sweet and kind to everyone, I love speaking to you and seeing you in my notifications. You’re always there with a cute meme or kind words and I love you. I hope you have a good new year because you deserve it.
@sunflowerspidey - Jess you were also one of my first friends here and I’m so happy we started talking again because I really missed you. You’re one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and I know I can come and speak to you about anything and I hope you know you can do the same to me. I love you and I love talking to about video games and Marvel and everything else. Have a good new year love because you deserve it.
@tomhollandsgirlfriend - Kat! My skittles buddy! My fellow thirsty bitch! I love you so much. You’re so awesome and just your tags can make me smile which are a whole entire mood by the way haha. Talking to you and thirsting about Tom is so much fun and I love you. May the new year bless you with new Tom content and skittles.
There are also a few people I’ve lost this year as friends and who I’ve hurt and they’ve hurt me but they still mean a lot to me. They are people who have helped me grow and learn for the better. Even though they might never see this post or even if I never get to speak to them again, I want to thank them.
And to everyone else who was here for me this year or people who I looked up to and was too shy to speak to, thank you for everything. I hope I get to make more friends and talk to more of you in the upcoming year and I hope you make the most of it because if this year has taught us anything it’s to be grateful for the things we have.

Our Interview With The Dev Team Below The Cut!
Introduce yourself! Macdev: Greetings and salutations. I'm Mac, writer, artist, and programmer for Cadeau, as well as the founder of Halfworld. I've loved Rpg games since I was about 10, and have been creating them since! Bruno: My name is Bruno and I'm the music composer. I got into game music approx 2 years ago and I've currently made music for a couple of games and other projects, and Cadeau was the first one of them. Aidan: I'm Aidan/kanteramcneil on Tumblr! I'm one of the voice actors, and I'm super excited to be able to follow Cadeau's progress! I've been in the RpgMaker community for a few years now and I adore being able to watch all the devs progress and grow Rindre: Hi I'm Rin! Currently, I'm on an indefinite hiatus, but Big Mac managed to catch me, chain me up to a chair, and make me say stuff about myself against my will. So... I make games, I guess. - Note from macdev: Erm, not true? These accusations are SLANDER and I will not stand for it. WariA: Hello! I’m WaraiA, one of the voice actors of Cadeau — A pleasure to meet you! I will be voicing the oh so mysterious ‘Your Admirer’, so please look forward to listening to my antics ☆〜(ゝ。∂) I am a Japanese/Chinese Australian born citizen, with a tendency to speak in an American accent. Any pronouns are fine for me My most notable role so far has been Harpae from Pocket Mirror, so some of you may be familiar with my voice already! Nothing much has changed — I enjoy cosplaying, role playing, drawing every once in a blue moon, Final Fantasy XIV, and most importantly, catboys (Nael, I’m coming for you, boy) As ‘Your Admirer’ is a rather elusive character, I cannot disclose much. But I do suggest always keeping one eye open throughout your journey
Tumblr media
What is your project about? What inspired you to create your game initially? *Macdev: Cadeau is a game about a troubled young woman named Charlotte Émile-- who is a "tomboyish" and bold individual who has been unfortunately presented loneliness by a series of disastrous events. After giving up on companionship, she miraculously receives an affectionate letter from a mysterious person aliased as her "Admirer". This "Admirer" character beckons poor Charlotte to visit them at a mysterious well in the woods, and to come armed with nothing but a strange golden coin. From there, madness ensues. Our protagonist must learn of her past and the events that lead to her misfortune, all while becoming entangled in a family drama rooted in witchcraft, raging years before her unexpected arrival. It is a story about self-love, friendship, acceptance, magic, and all that corny-ness. Sounds fun, right? My initial inspiration was The Witches House. The game was originally meant to be simple, and maybe an hour or 45 minutes long. A simple story, and a straightforward 2-ending path.... How have we managed to get here from that?
How long did you work on your project? *Macdev: Two years, I believe! Its anniversary is April 8th. In the beginning, it was very off and on-- because I was having a difficult time with school and-- as I mention-- organization. So not a whole lot of progress was made then. I'm proud to say I've been chugging quite a bit faster than my previous pace!
Did any other games or media influence aspects of your project? *Macdev: My inspiration would probably lie in Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts, and Alice returns to madness. As for RPG games? The Witch's House, Havenfell, and Pocket Mirror. As well as many other beautiful artists and creators in the video game community. Overall, my biggest inspiration for this game has got to be the stop-motion movie: Coraline. I even reference the movie once or twice in Cadeau. The tone of Coraline, and the whimsical yet eerie people and creatures within it give me inspiration for this game. It was very much a favorite of mine when I was younger, and that still applies today!
Tumblr media
Have you come across any challenges during development? How have you overcome or worked around them? *Macdev: The biggest problem I've run into has been a lack of structure. In the beginning, I hadn't even written out the story halfway. I was just pulling ideas from thin air, going back and forth, and deleting entire concepts-- only to bring them back and re-arrange them as I went. Characters weren't fully dished out; the game didn't even have an ending. This state of creating is fine, but not when you have other people expecting things from you. Thankfully, things are sailing much MUCH smoother than before.
Tumblr media
Did any aspects of your project change over time? How does your current project differ from your initial concept? *Macdev: It's absolutely taken a turn from what it was originally! As I say, it was meant to be an extremely short game in the beginning, and now obviously that’s not the case. The goal for Cadeau now is: around 2-3 hours long in playtime, and full of many diverse character types! As well as a storyline that extends far more than face value. Which is in high contrast to the basic, short, immemorable experience that it was going to be.
What was your team like at the beginning? How did people join the team? If you don’t have a team, do you wish you had one or do you prefer working alone? *Macdev: I do have a wonderful, beautiful, talented team working with me on Cadeau. - A composer! (Bruno Buglisi), - As well as voice actors! (WariA as Allete, Aiden/kanteramcneil as The Botanist, and Rindre (who I have definitely not kidnapped...) as The Maiden) I met everyone in the team through volunteer posts-- and I had never done that before-- but it worked very surprisingly well! We worked very quickly together, and we had a very mutual understanding of what each other wanted. It feels good to know I have such talented people helping this game come to fruition. I owe a whole lot to them for helping the game become what it is now.
What was the best part of developing the game? Macdev: Being able to make the world in your head interactable, for sure. Since I was 8, maybe even younger, I have loved writing stories and making art. Webcomics were my main thing as a kid, so story-telling is something I’ve always loved. So, the fact that I can turn my ideas into something someone can experience and interact with is a wonderful feeling. There's nothing more fulfilling, honestly!
Do you find yourself playing other RPG Maker games to see what you can do with the engine, or do you prefer to do your own thing? *Macdev: Very often, actually! I try not to ride too close to the material I see in other games, but I do gain lots of inspiration from my fellow creators! One thing I am laser-focused on, though, is making Cadeau quite unique content-wise. I want it to have very interesting, uncommon puzzles and mechanics that you may not expect from this type of game-- or one of this engine. So far, I think I've achieved this-- so look out for that!
Which character in your game do you relate to the most and why? (Alternatively: Who is your favorite character and why?) *Macdev: My favorite character has got to be The Botanist. At the beginning of the game he has no dialogue, yet still presents such a strong personality. They are kind, thoughtful, and absolutely adorable. Look at that foofy hair! I'm a sucker for it. Their character arc is something I'm excited for. It's been a blast writing it so far-- and I won’t spoil anything-- but you guys will love him. I'm sure of it. Now if we're talking character design, Naël has got to be my favorite. He recently received a “tune-up,” as I would like to call it, and I think everything works together very cohesively in his design now. It's probably one of my favorites out of all of them, at this point.
Looking back now, is there anything that regret/wish you had done differently? *Macdev: Thankfully, things worked out perfectly-- and the universe blessed me with a wonderful team in the end-- but it was very stressful once I realized I had asked for help way too early. I essentially made a single map, and a little character sheet-- then asked for a whole team to help me out. As I said, it luckily worked out in the end. Now we have so many amazing people helping us-- but we also lost a few in the madness-- and that's a mistake on my part, 100%. If you don't know what you want, it's hard to ask for help. It will lead to confusion, lots of back and forth, frustration, etc... Just wait until your way further in development. Trust me. I know it’s easy to jump the gun and shoot for the stars, but sometimes it won’t work out as well as it has for the Cadeau team!
Do you plan to explore the game’s universe and characters further in subsequent projects, or leave it as-is? *Macdev: I won't say as of now! The idea of a sequel/prequel has floated around, but if it does come to fruition, it won't be until way after the release of Cadeau. We'll just have to see. (This isn’t to say I’m not hopeful!)
Tumblr media
With your current project, what do you look most forward to upon/after release? *Macdev: I have so many amazing project ideas lined up for after the release of Cadeau. I won’t spill too much, so they'll be more of a surprise-- but they range from classic, adventure-themed true RPG's-- to 3D teenage-thrillers. I'm honestly stoked, there's so much in store for Halfworld.
Is there something you’re afraid of concerning the development or the release of your game? *Macdev: I think my biggest fear is letting people down. Also, I worry about losing interest or having people form the idea that the game is never going to be completed. It’s just going to take some time, is all, and that’s okay!
Do you have any advice for upcoming devs? *Macdev: I already mentioned above not to jump the gun and ask for help too early, so some more advice I'll give: is to keep all your material, all your ideas, and all your concepts in one concise place. I would say do it digitally from the get-go, but if you would prefer to write it down physically that's fine! Just make sure it's only one or 2 notebooks, and not 13. The information for Cadeau is spread throughout my hideous mound of notebooks, as I get up during ungodly hours of the night to scrawl a sudden idea down. So, I'm currently in the process of moving them to one digital spot-- and while it's generally easy-- I would have been able to avoid it if I had just put everything in one spot in the beginning. Oh, and back up your progress regularly! I have separate backups of Cadeau from months in 2 different years, and in 4 different places. So, I take backups very seriously—and so should you!
Tumblr media
Question from last month's featured dev @atlasatrium: What's your favorite RPG Maker game and why? *Aidan: I love End roll, Ib, OFF, Prom Dreams, From Next Door, and Aria's Story! Bruno: Mm, definitely Long Gone Days (though it’s not being made on rpgmaker now) Midnight Train, Heartbeat and Glitched! WariA: I don't really have any :0 the devs I've worked with so far have all been really sweet (´꒳`);; Macdev: This is a tough question! I have a lot of favorites. Probably Stray Cat Crossing overall, but I also love Home and Starboy. Starboy brings a lot of memories, and Stray Cat Crossing was what inspired me to start making games! Oh, and Home is just very cute.
We mods would like to thank HALFWORLDstudios for agreeing to our interview! We believe that featuring the developer and their creative process is just as important as featuring the final product. Hopefully this Q&A segment has been an entertaining and insightful experience for everyone involved!
Remember to check out Cadeau if you haven’t already! See you next month!

Another edition of What I’m Consuming for you to consume.
What I’ve Been Consuming 05/13/20
Look, we are not heroes for staying home and watching ungodly amounts of tv, but it’s the smart thing to do. So let’s all be smart while calcifying our brains with movies, tv, video games, comic books, Zoom meet ups, the FUCKING INTERNET that contains the entire collection of human creation and knowledge and our favorite snacks. I’m settling in with Flaming Hot Cheeto’s popcorn, Pork Rinds and the occasional edible with my favorite cocktail. I wash all this down with my nightly dose of Simvastatin, my cholesterol medication.
Also, let’s get out and walk around since it’s beautiful weather right now. This is especially important for those of us in the Midwest who were blessed with snow just last week!
TV
Recently finished the Amazon series Hunters. It was good, but looking at it as a whole it seemed  to be holding something back. The characters felt like they were supposed to be larger than life and more bombastic, but they were instead subdued. Even Al Pacino is reserved. Was it a comic book adaptation or an inspired-by-actual-events type show? it was a compelling story somewhat overshadowed by not being sure what kind of show it wanted to be.
Midnight Gospel! Oh my god where to begin? This is simply great tv. The rhythm of the show sets in super fast and all you can do is hold on for the duration. I’m nearly done with the season and it’s deconstruction of philosophy and life and death are pretty timely, but never preachy. Just sit down and enjoy. Best served with a side of your favorite marijuana infused edible.
The new limited series RUN from HBO quickly got me hooked. It’s premised on two old lovers who have a pact to meet again if one texts “RUN” to the other. After 15 years one texts the other and our story begins! It was no struggle for me to dive into this show since I’m already well along in my Merrit Weaver addiction. She has been a spoonful of sugar with a side of cake in shows such as Godless and Unbelievable. I’m making room on my calendar now to watch her in Nurse Jackie and I’m super embarrassed to admit that I had no idea she was Denise in the Walking Dead. Ok, enough about Ms. Weaver, Domnhall Gleason is in this show too.
I’m rewatching Watchmen because it was one of the best shows of 2019. It is great to see Damon Lindelof stick the landing like Simone Biles on this one. It was completely engrossing in every way.
For a much needed salve of humor in these times Middleditch and Schwartz is absolutely sting free healing. It’s a short three episodes and all three episodes are solid, but one and two are the best.
Killing Eve is back and I couldn’t be happier! So so happy to have all of these characters in my life. So so sad at what happens to them.
Quick Bites - Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is still living its best life. Real Time with Bill Maher not so much. Still keeping up with Homeland, but season 5 is not the best. The Westworld  season finale wrapped up a wobbly season with a solid if forgettable final episode. I miss the heady hard to understand first two seasons. Props for some good action sequences this season though.
I need to get back too… I started Lock and Key a while back and lost it somewhere in the ether. Also, an FB convo reminded me to get back to Doom Patrol. I never finished Counterpart either. (Looking back at my post from last moth I see that I also mentioned getting back to Counterpart then too, so it’s probably safe to say I won’t be getting back to it.) Not sure if these shows were good or bad or just not coming at me the right way. Oh, oh! Devs I do want to finish that, but yes I do agree with others comments that the main character’s acting is… not the best.
MOVIES
The Apostle - Starring Dan Stevens from Legion, The Guest and Downton Abbey this movie starts out a bit slow, but winds itself up to a flat out bonkers ending. Worth watching with the lights off and no bathroom breaks.
I started the great Korean action flick The Villainess, but I fell asleep before finishing it. Can someone call a movie great if they fall asleep during it? If that someone was absolutely thrilled by watching the opening sequence then yes, yes they can.
GAMES
Still finding myself indulging in the occasional Mario Kart binge. Also got some friends together for Bomberman which is frivolous fun. Spent a few hours back with Mario Odyssey too. Purchased Child of Light a few days ago so I’m hoping to get to that soon.
BOOKS/COMICS
Not much in the way of books month. In the comics world I did start JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, but was thrown off by the revelation that the book I’m reading, which is marked book 1, is actually part two in the story. Shrug emoji.
I did finish the first trade in the Outcast series from writer Robert Kirkman, now superrich and superfamous creator of The Walking Dead  and not so famous, but no less talented, artist Paul Azaceta. It is filled with great dread and atmosphere. It does not wrap up the story in the first trade which always irks me.
MUSIC
I was excited to see that Fiona Apple’s new album “Fetch the Bolt Cutters” came out! Then I listened to it. And listened to it again, and then listened to it one more time. It is an uneven album that frustrated me with how many songs are filled with the same refrain. I love the music, the writing not so much. That being said Under the Table, Rack of His and For Her are repeat listens for me.
Drake dropped a new album/mixtape called ”Dark Lane. Demo Tapes” and so continues my love/annoyance with Drake’s music. Listening to  Drake’s music is like being in a 60+ year marriage and still being very much in love, but absolutely hating how your partner chews with their mouth open.
RANDOM NOTES
I discovered Coco Rico soda in a local Asian Market. It’s a lovely sweet coconut beverage.
As mentioned earlier Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Popcorn is becoming my new go to snack. Move over Doritos Cool Ranch because Chester Cheetah is here!
I was in a good running routine and then it started snowing and raining all the time. Back to the couch for me.
That about sums it up for this month. Don’t be afraid to skip your next work Zoom meeting. The work will be there tomorrow.

Let’s start serious and move towards our yearly Thanks blog at the end.
I’ve heard from a lot of you asking if the recent messages that White Wolf have posted on their social media are something that will be bad for Onyx Path. As of this writing, everything we’ve heard from over there is that it’s business as usual between our companies. We are still going to be sending projects over for approvals, they are still the ones who OK our pitches for new WW-IP projects, and we’re still running our successful Chicago By Night KS, the first licensed V5 TTRPG supplement.
So fear not, True Believers!
I mean, I just had to channel Stan Lee there, after last week’s MMN blog.
Which was, oddly enough, the least commented-on blog I think I’ve ever posted. Very strange, but I’m just assuming you were all in mourning for Stan, too.
In case you missed it last week, here is the lovely graphic our own Impish Ian Watson made to show what game lines are wholly Onyx Path‘s, the ones at the top, and which are licensed from whom:
I actually didn’t think we’d need it again so soon, but there does seem to be a fair bit of confusion out there, so feel free to point to this if you need to explain things to a friend.
And that’s one of the awesome Chicago By Night full-page pieces up there at the top, illustrated by the amazing Michael Gaydos. More Chicago Kickstarter news – we’re headed into the last week! – down below in The Blurbs!
Trinity Continuum: Aeon art by Sam White
    A bit of related news:
One of the first times I ever heard of Matthew Dawkins, who is our Chicago By Night developer, was when he interviewed me for his YouTube channel a whole bunch of years ago. From then, his Gentlemam Gamer videos have taken deep dives into many of the White Wolf (and other) games, and were very helpful in explaining aspects of V5 during this last year.
Now, Matthew has agreed to create a series of Gentleman Gamer videos for our Onyx Path games starting with the pantheons in Scion 2nd Edition, and you’ll also be seeing Matthew in other ways too, as he helps ramp up our online gaming presence. More on that in the weeks to come!
BUT DON’T WORRY, his dulcet tones are still going to be appearing weekly on the Onyx Pathcast – which this coming Friday features Dixie interviewing Jacqueline “Jax” Bryk with a one-on-one covering not just her work with us, but throughout the TTRPG biz, and how she has become one of our industries leading lights for safe play game writing.
Trinity Continuum: Aeon art by Marco Gozales
    And now, the thanks!
Let’s start with the newest member of our Monday Meeting team, Dixie Cochran:
I am thankful that the whole Onyx Path team gave me the opportunity to work on these books in a greater capacity this year. I am thankful that Eddy, Matthew, and Rich are always supportive and willing to answer my many questions, and that Rose Bailey recommended me for this job as she moved on to a new stage in her career. I am thankful for all of my amazing Chronicles of Darkness and Exalted developers, writers, and fans, who continue to do amazing work and be a wonderful community. I am also thankful for lovely editors and indexers, Word’s “track changes” function, and Oxford commas.
From the art and layout side of things, there are these points from Mirthful Mike Chaney, in no particular order he tells me:
Thankful our first Storypath IPs are really close to being done and ready to release.
Thankful our non WW stuff has been continually well received…
Thankful that Wraith 20 is almost done… and Scion…
Thankful my wife is still as into 40k as I am… now if I could only get her into D&D 5e.
Thankful that the midterms weren’t an utter shitshow.
Thankful that I still get to work with all of you and still get to make game books after all these years.
Our marketing guru and developer/writer extraordinaire Monica Valentinelli shares these thoughts:
I’d like to thank fans for their continued support and enthusiasm. People are really excited for the games we make, and that’s the reason why I do what I do.
Here’s Eddy Webb, with his thanks:
I continue to be thankful for all of the fans of Realms of Pugmire.
I am thankful that Monarchies of Mau is shipping (and ahead of schedule!)
I am thankful to find so many people who are really excited about our upcoming Storypath games like Scion, Trinity Continuum, They Came From Beneath The Sea!, and Dystopia Rising: Evolution.
And I am thankful that there are still people who love and support Onyx Path Publishing.
Mighty Matt McElroy takes a long sip of coffee and sez:
I want thank everyone who has had the time and energy to introduce an Onyx Path game to someone new. Whether that is inviting someone to join your gaming group or running a demo at a convention, this past year has been an amazing opportunity to meet new gamers around the world.
Our behind-the-scenes keeper of the flame, LisaT has these thanks to share with all of you:
I am thankful again this year for the opportunity to work with so many talented and creative people. And this year I had the opportunity to meet a number of them face to face along with many fans of our products. I’m looking forward to meeting even more of you at PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia in just a couple of weeks. So if you’re in town stop by and become part of what I’m thankful for for next year!
Impish Ian Watson, lord of Bloodlines modding, also does some other stuff he has thanks about:
I’m thankful that, after years toiling in the word mines, the Trinity Continuum and Æon are almost done, and we’ve done a significant chunk of the next two supplements, plus Aberrant. I can’t wait for people to see the fruits of our labours.
I’m thankful to Trinity‘s Kickstarter backers for having faith in us.
Let’s see what sort of thanks Mr. Dawkins has to share:
Yo Gentlemaniacs, it’s Thanksgiving night, and this is the happiest time of year for all the maniacs, brother! You know, me and all my little Gentsters, we got a lot of things to be thankful for. Number one: we’re thankful for being happy and very healthy. We’re thankful for having time to share with our loved ones. We’re also thankful that Gentlemania is still the strongest force in the universe. And after the turkey’s done, after the blessings are all done, I can tell you what the Gentleman is mostly happy about: it’s SURVIVOR SERIES TIME! And I’m thankful for my team of Gentlemaniacs!!
That, and Onyx Path are pretty cool.
Uhhhhh. He may be cracking under the pressure. Hard to say.
From me:
I sometimes sit at my desk, stunned by the realization that I still get to do this after all these years and I’m thankful for that – a lot! Thanks to our creative freelancers who continue to find delightful new ways to verbally and visually describe our game worlds, and our full-time folks who orchestrate all this rampant creativity into the formats and pages that we all love to read and play. Thanks to all of our associated partner companies that give us the reach to deliver and communicate this thing we do to all of you!
Which, of course, actually brings me to all of you and all of our community who have supported us through our growing pains, lo! these many years, and even through pains not of our choosing! Without this intricate eco-system that includes all of us and all of you, we just would not have been able to keep building all our game lines and worlds!
Thank you.
Many Worlds, One Path!
  BLURBS!
KICKSTARTER:
Lo the darkness that lies like a pall over Chicago.
The V5 Chicago By Night Kickstarter has passed 200% funding and continues to knock through Stretch Goals like the El through a sleet storm! Congrats to the whole team and all our backers, as we continue to build the Chicago Folio with Cam, Anarchs, and Independent sections and the Let The Streets Run Red Chronicle Collection, as well as activate additional projects too!
We’d be thrilled if you’d give it a look here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/chicago-by-night-for-vampire-the-masquerade-5th-ed/description
And here is a Q&A Matthew and several of his writing team held on his Gentleman Gamer YouTube channel that goes into a lot of their thinking about Chicago By Night and then they answer questions from the chat: https://youtu.be/v8YbbzEPuiI
Next up, we’re working on the Kickstarter for They Came From Beneath the Sea! (TCFBtS!), which has some very different additions to the Storypath mechanics we’ll be explaining during the KS.  They take an excellent 50’s action and investigation genre game and turn it to 11! Our current plan is to start on Dec 18th but run it extra long into January!
  ELECTRONIC GAMING:
As we find ways to enable our community to more easily play our games, the Onyx Dice Rolling App is now live! Our dev team has been doing updates since we launched based on the excellent use-case comments by our community, and this thing is both rolling and rocking!
Here are the links for the Apple and Android versions:

DAY 3580
Jalsa, Mumbai                   Jan 12/13,  2018                   Fri/Sat 1:01 AM

And I am on cover .. and I am on the context of an entire book .. and I am aggrandised and epithetted to embarrassment .. and I am now documented for posterity benefit .. and I am least deserving or qualified for such attention !!
I did however glance through a few pages and found it well researched and detailed with references to many other write ups and media interludes .. making an assessment of what the author has conceived or assessed ..
What the writer has assessed .. !!
Not the subject ..
This is important, for the subject then, has the liberty to correct deny or ignore such glorifying episodes of many humbling proportions .. documentation has been honoured, and that is a step in the right direction .. we as a community lack and runaway from the idea of ever keeping record of the largest Film Industry in the entire World .. of having aspects to the process behind the longevity of this Industry .. more than 100 years has to have some strength to survive this period and time ..
I admire and respect those colleagues and contemporaries of my fraternity who have the courage and the acumen to publish for public consumption, their life and its journey .. the ‘i me mines’ in their years of presence .. the honesty and the truth to their stories of achievement and glory .. they are special that do this - and there are many .. for generations, after we have gone, shall address the issue and lament the fact that some of the most impressive and golden years of the Industry.. some of the largest and most influential talents were never documented or spoken to for the purpose of history and meaning ..
Yes social media shall to some extent be responsible for this factor .. and blessed are they that bring in the events and moments of the past .. of the present .. and the hope of bringing it back in the future too ..
What prompted Dev Anand to pull up the sleeve of his pullover over his shirt sleeve and make it a fashion statement ..
What prompted Raj Kapoor to wear pants that were rolled by the cuff and remained above the level of the ankle in his film Awaara ..
What prompted Dilip Kumar to plead to a dying Vijayantimala in Gunga Jamuna, with the admonition almost ... “na Dhanno na ..”
What prompted Kamaal Amrohi to make the water fountain in Pakeeza , an actual rose flavoured fountain for the sequence with Meena Kumari ..
So many thoughts and questions run through the mind and reach the dead end of a wall that never breaks .. that stops all discussion and debate and .. documentation  ..
What ..??
Procedures and opinions and  signing of surety absolving all in the event of mishap, enjoy exposure for several hours .. the deed is done and is always done with the efficiency of swift pristine clear supportive personnel .. masked or unmasked .. uniformed or not .. leading the talk and speech for the comfort of them that supine themselves for the investigation .. and at times instant relief and cure .. at times .. the results often take time ..
Helplessness in continuance, is of the greatest value in the lives of those that profession with the face and body .. once lost and defeated, they seldom regain the volume of praise in the environment of public space .. retirement is not in the same realm .. hence the stigma of vacancy in the vacuum of our lives never gets to be looked upon with any seriousness or resolve .. why should they .. prime time is gone and done with .. look for fresh pastures .. or if beyond that effort .. succumb and be in remorse on missed exigency ..
I am missed .. missed by the calling of that which has been devised, fresh warm and hopefully comfortable ..
Good night my dear ones .. you are all the reason for my prolonged presence and my love for you .. may that be maintained oiled and polished for all the time beyond ..

Tina Ambani’s Leadership Inspiration: Steering Her Cause by Her Passion
“We all dream alone, are triggers our own and the abilities to craft our destinies, ultimately rests with us. Leadership by its very nature is an individual impulse”, said Tina Ambani chairperson of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani once. Tina seems to have reflected these facets of leadership quintessentially in her approach all along. She started off her journey in Bollywood depending solely on her instincts and turned out to be one of the most phenomenal actresses of her times. So much so, that she became a household name with her back-to-back hits owing to seamless finesse in acting, always up her sleeve. Of course, she had a Godfather like Dev Anand, but once she got out of the nesting period, she winged out high and sky became the limit for her success. Much same was the course for her when it came to handling the project of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
What came as a surprise to her, transcended into something that became an indispensable part of her life and she continues to lead the way impeccably today even if she does not belong to the sphere of medicine. A life which is driven by watertight schedules from Friday night openings to Monday morning admin briefings, from reading movie to scripts to medical journals, from a life driven by perception and performance to one steered by passion and purpose, she feels her journey has been blessed and one-of-a-kind.
She says that there’s too much that she has learnt along the journey and it is the past that prepares one for the future. Having worked in an industry where success is fleeting, she says that her days as an actor taught her composure, crisis management, and self-belief that stand central to driving operations at work and dealing with the ordeals that life throws in.  She feels that one of her biggest takeaways in life is that people are one’s greatest assets and your interactions with them are one’s finest classroom. She adds that the time that she had spent right from co-stars to camerapersons, junior artistes to light boys helped her build the groundwork. And then, bringing the characters with contrasting realities to life polished her acumen. Today, these honed skills have aided her in coordinating and connecting with numerous people right from heads of state to homemakers, writers, artists, doctors, and her own team.  And consequently she gets rewarded with intellectual growth, mutual respect, collaboration and delegation, all of which hold integral to the success of any organisation.
Being of the opinion that no journey takes place in vacuum, she feels highly empowered by her parents, husband, and children who have been giving her all the support and love that is integral to a journey like this one. That being said, she feels that none of the relationships in life can define one.  She sums it up saying, “Leadership by its very nature is an individual impulse”.
She feels that is important that women especially understand this. In her opinion, every woman has limitless potential and the ability to create, nurture, transform and lead, with her emotional intelligence, adaptability and intangible strengths. Irrespective of her background, circumstance or her story, Tina feels that women hold this latent power in her grasp. She feels that it is unfortunate that years of marginalisation have made Indian women forget their own innate value. The Global Gender Gap Report of World Economic Forum published in 2018 ranks a grim 108 out of 145 countries. Till date our country is adjudged amongst the most dangerous for women. And a study by New York-based Centre for Talent Innovation lauds Indian women as superwomen despite facing “the greatest barriers to both personal and career growth”.
Tina feels that it is no wonder why we fall appallingly short when it is the question of women empowerment. She feels that it is time for comprehensive and rigorous change that tends to the problem of women at every stage of life. And this she believes could only happen if we include eradicating female foeticide; endorsing reproductive, neonatal and paediatric healthcare; ensuring education, hygiene and safety; removing gender bias at work and home; and enabling financial empowerment and independent living in the silver years. She adds that while we press our cases for institutional change, we must also, draw our strengths from our own reservoirs and take ownership of our lives. Only then, she believes, can we engage with the world outside with resolve, and fulfil our aspirations —from Bollywood to the boardroom, science and sports to social service, staking our claim in our communities, neighbourhoods and the global community as true leaders. Yes. We’re headed out this week to the MidWinter Convention in Milwaukee!
It’s going to be cold.
It’s also going to be a great chance for fun, edumacation, and making deals and brainstorming projects. See the notes in the BLURBS! section, below.
I’m planning on bringing a folio of character art from both Pugmire and the new signature characters from Monarchies of Mau, so hit me up while we’re there and I’ll give ya a sneak peek.
Beast: Conquering Heroes art by Avery Butterworth
This week, Rose and Matt continue to grow into their full time positions with serious work on our infrastructure, and conversations with our Devs. Many Google docs and Excel spreadsheets were started and consulted.
They will both be at MidWinter, and my plan is to have a mini-summit where we look at both current projects and our possible releases for the next three years. I doubt we’ll get into new gamelines, but we’ll be devoting serious thought to the White Wolf lines, and Scion 2e and the Trinity Continuum and how all these lines need to fit together.
So, most of our conversations today were some discussion followed by “we’ll go over this when we’re sitting down at MidWinter“.
Lavinia from Scarred Lands The Wise & The Wicked by Bryan Syme
Meanwhile, while I’m running amok in Milwaukee, it is the beginning of the year tax time for Lovely LisaT, our Office Manager, as she prepares all the documents our accountant needs to tell us if we are still OK as a business.
I really feel bad about heading to a con during this time of the year.
No, really.
    BLURBS!
KICKSTARTER!
We’re exploring card game Kickstarters, packaging, and components, for Prince’s Gambit. Justin, Eddy, a crack team of players, and our talented videographers have finished shooting the KS videos in Atlanta and are assembling edits even as you read this. Things look good, and we are all for starting the KS in late January so long as the process of pulling the KS together cooperates. If so, then Monarchies of Mau KS would be next, after Gambit.

Promethean: the Created 2nd Edition comes to life in both PDF and PoD physical book versions NOW on DTRPG! http://ift.tt/2aUBEnc
You are a pilgrim now, one of the Created. You rose to life from dead flesh or inert matter, under the ministrations of one of your own, or a mad scientist, or perhaps just the power of the Divine Fire. You wander the world, sometimes alone, sometimes in the blessed company of your own kind, driven by memories of events and facts you never knew, all in the service of one Great Work…
…to be human.
Humans don’t make it easy, though. The Divine Fire that animates you burns too bright, blinds people, and scorches the land if you linger too long. It masks your disfigurements and makes you appear human, but that mask slips and people see your hideous, true form. The Pilgrimage is a long, difficult road, but it is yours, and you know, somehow, that the salvation of the New Dawn waits at the end.
This book contains:
The complete guide to playing a Promethean in the Chronicles of Darkness
Reimagined Lineages and Refinements, and a redesigned system for Transmutations
A more detailed approached to the Pilgrimage that presents players with more control over their characters’ path
New challenges on the road to humanity, including deranged, greedy alchemists
      CONVENTIONS!
Onyx Path will be at Mid Winter Con 2017 this week in the lovely city of Milwaukee. Come brave the cold wastes to game and cavort with us! Please keep an eye out on the MidWinter site for announcements as to our very special beta test and Play With The Creator special events! http://ift.tt/Lfx9nY
Here are three reasons to attend, if you had any doubts!:
RPG Playing! We have once again convinced Dave Martin and his Wrecking Crew team of game masters to run a vast plethora of Onyx Path games. Everything from World of Darkness to Scion to Cavaliers of Mars and Pugmire, as well as a bunch of Prince’s Gambit casual vampire card game sessions. We have a whole ballroom dedicated to our games this year, so sign up and play.
RPG Playtests! Onyx Path loves to use MidWinter as a sort of test-lab for our games, and this year is no exception! Eddy Webb will be playtesting Monarchies of Mau, the cat follow-up to the smash-hit Pugmire, as well as a couple of card game projects he has been tinkering with. Rose Bailey will be running a playtest sneak-peak of Cavaliers of Mars, and Neall Raemonn Price may have some Scion 2e goodness to share.
The Onyx Path Gang! Yep, a bunch of us will be at MidWinter, and not only will we be at the intimate Onyx Q&A listed during the events, but we’ll be at our booth in the sales area, at other events, hanging out in our gaming room with the Wrecking Crew, or just sitting back and chatting around the hotel. MidWinter is a great venue to speak with us as it is nowhere near as hectic as GenCon, and we have fewer business commitments. So look for me, Rose, Eddy, Neall, Monica, Matt McElroy, and a bunch of our awesome creative contributors too!
