Art in The Good Fight and (The Good Wife) - Part 1
as promised, i am resharing some of my art threads from twitter over here. to recap, as a history major and art nerd, i have always loved looking at the art shown in the sets of period drama, but it was really striking to me how obviously intentional it was being used to assist in telling story in The Gilded Age (plus Impressionist lover Mrs Sylvia Chamberlain was just begging for it).
while part of it is about identifying the art because i do love an easter egg, the other part i find really interesting is thinking about how art reflects character and story. so, i started thinking more about art in The Good Fight/The Good Wife, and i started a twitter thread and it became a season long thing this year for the final season.
this post is part 1 of 2 about the art in The Good Fight/The Good Wife, and in particular, Diane Lockhart's impeccable art taste. so, without further ado...
this is my hands down fav, which is in Diane's Boseman/Reddick office in TGF, Girl with Peony by Andy 'Zig' Leipzig 🔥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i adore the surrealism and guess what i found? sunflowers of course 🌻🌀🌻 this is Andy 'Zig' Leipzig's Have a Heart, 2014.
Tumblr media
in Diane's old apartment in TGW era, the engraving on the right is by Jean-Pierre Louis Laurent Houël, Vase cineraire et figures antiques (1782, Gennadius Library).
Tumblr media
the left looks like Bougainvillea, Parivolia, Italy by Isabelle De Borchgrave (watercolour).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is not Diane's, this is Sweeney's, but i have never been able to find this still life from TGW 419, which is a shame because it is GORGEOUS.
Tumblr media
in the McHart apartment post TGF s2, there's an engraving by French artist Jean Louis Prévost, Flowers & Fruit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
behind Kurt and more clearly here is a French Watercolour Landscape (distributed by Soicher Marin gallery).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there are also a few pieces in the bathroom, including some botanical prints visible only in the mirror. and this one above the fireplace, A Rainy Day, by an unknown American Continental School artist (20C, oil on canvas).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i'll be back next week on Thursday (aka missing TGF more than usual hours) for the rest of my thread, which focused on the art in s6 and was possibly more intentional than the rest of The Good Universe put together.

Up to this point what is your total vision of Gilbert's character, what do you think of his personality, history and his development. Personally, he is the best built and most striking character, basically the perfect boyfriend, he is very dependent on Violet and I think much more than Violet on him, also what do you think about his enigmatic and false family, I think it is false because he seems alone keep an image. I DEMAND AKATSUKI KANA TO WRITE A COMPLETE SAGA ABOUT THIS FAMILY (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻
That's too much to talk about. XD He's very complex. I can't summarize my thoughts on him into just a few paragraphs. It'd turn into a full-ass essay, lol. But in short, I absolutely love this man. He's one of my all-time favorite male characters.
I think they're equal in that regard. And every other regard. They're just so similar it's not even funny.
Well, Gil clearly loves his family, no matter how twisted and toxic it is. There are three things in the world that he loves unconditionally, and his family is one of them. I love Julia, and I'm sure I'd love Henrietta and Diane too. Of course, I also love Dietfried. Don't know what to think of their mom, don't really care about their dad. And yes, I'd love to have a story about them!

The Bougainvillea Ball - PART 2
All chattering and movement ceased when the door suddenly opened. The most awaited head of the Bougainvillea is here at last, but what stunned them the most is the god like woman beside him. No matter how one look at it, the golden haired beauty possess an impressively rare features. Also, her natural charm outshines every women inside the ball, making most of the men bewitched at the sight of her.
Silence engulfed the entire ball as they walk together. The way Gilbert guides her is incredibly gentle. It is very obvious that he held that woman so dear, just by looking how soft his stern look becomes when he glances at her.
"Gilbert, what took you so long? And...who might she be?"
Madam Bougainvillea already knew who she was but did not want to acknowledge it. She only looked at Violet with a wary look.
Upon noticing that stare, Violet bow gracefully at her and said,
"My name is Violet Evergarden. It's been my pleasure to meet you."
It was very elegant and dignified like. All of them were mesmerized by her. There is no doubt that she'll be the main star this evening.
The Madam smiled flatly at her as she introduced herself as an 'Evergarden'.
"Likewise."
She looked at her son in an almost troubled look
"My, It was very kind of you to accompany your cousin. It was indeed an admirable act. Now that you're here, I shall introduce you to the fine young maidens."
The Madam clapped her hands to motion the musicians. The music started, a cue in which the dance is about to start. Most of the people were dancing already. Gilbert on the other side, calmly arguing with her mother while Violet is being entertained by someone who approached her.
"Violet! You came! I miss you!"
A woman blissfully hugged her in the middle of the crowd.
"It's been a while. I hope you're in good health."
It was no other than Henrietta, the second daughter of the Bougainvillea. Her voice is loud enough to attract the nobles inside the ball. It doesn't even bother her even if she is currently being dreadfully glared by her mother.
"Come with me! I shall introduce you to my lovely sisters!"
Henrietta drag her away and ran towards her sisters. Her actions seems kind of bold enough for a woman of noble birth and to add it all, they are the ones who stood out the most.
Gilbert noticed the sudden disappearance of Violet and was about to go and find her but some stubborn elder woman wouldn't let him go.
"Mother, I already told you, didn't I? I love her and I don't need anyone other than her."
Just by talking with her gives him a terrible headache. Just how much will he be able to convince such mother?
"You simply cannot do this! The reputation of the Bougainvillea family is at stake!"
Although, the conversation of the two are quite heated, the tone of their voice is amazingly low.
"My decision is final."
"Listen to me, you fool!"
But Gilbert didn't listen. He simply turned his back at her and started walking away. Madam clenched her fist and tried to compose herself as she is seething in so much anger.
Meanwhile, Violet is having a ladylike conversation with the three Bougainvillea sisters. Apparently, she looks quite pleased while talking to them because her icy looks unbelievably warms up like a glowing sunshine.
"Brother... Is that kind of person?" Diane, the youngest curiously asked.
"Yes. Lord Gilbert is that kind of man."
Violet told them in an almost dreamy tone. Her reaction is very cute as it struck the eldest, named Julia. The gesture that she made surprises them all. Julia gleefully pinched the soft cheeks of the blushing Violet.
"My, you are so adorable. Now I see why brother has a gentle look kuku."
The Violet who didn't like being treated that way, surrendered her cheeks to the three of them. The sight makes one wonder if the golden haired woman is being bullied or being worshipped.
"Indeed. Oh, speaking of which, where is that foolish brother?"
"It seems that he is currently being held by mother."
"Well, that sucks..." Henrietta absentmindedly replied. The eldest tried to confront the sister for saying such words but Violet interrupted for a moment.
"Lady Henrietta isn't bad. She is but a soft-hearted friend of mine." 'Aww'. The three were quite touched by her sincere innocence.
"Violet..." A gentle voice called out to her and was surprised when someone enveloped her waist to his.
"Lord Gilbert?"
"Ah, may I intrude for a while? It appears that you're all having a good time." Smiling broadly like he had never done before.
"Absolutely!!!"
"Brother, what took you so long?"
"I've been asked by some ladies to dance with them...but I kindly declined. I am proud that my time is completely occupied by Violet." His slight like intimate tone is not something that a Bougainvillea head should possess but the sisters found it quite endearing.
After interacting with his sisters, Gilbert escorted Violet to the dance floor and had a splendid time with her, not caring about the judgeful glances that's being transmitted to them.
"I have an announcement to make." He shouted in a low and stern tone, making everything engulf in a deafening silence.
"I, Gilbert Bougainvillea, chose Violet Evergarden as my Countess Bougainvillea. If there's anyone who would dare to disapprove, then I suppose, you are all ready to face my wrath." Firm and determined, gaze that seems to burn with blazing fire.
These are some of the times where Gilbert is proud of belittling the people who are below him, as someone who possess a higher status in the pyramidal hierarchy. All in order to protect the woman he swore to love for the rest of his life. All in order to stop them from tampering what was left behind.
All in order to break the fiery curse in the Bougainvillea clan.
This is one of the marvelous event in which, another Bougainvillea heir destroyed the so called 'tradition' of their prestigious clan.
All in order to be with Violet Evergarden.

190822
It was on the ride home three days ago when I first noticed them. They could have been there weeks before without my having considered either or both. On the day I did see them, they were apart though I now feel certain working together. One, the squat older fellow sat on the back row beyond the door and facing my direction four rows away. There! And I was here just behind the operator facing the rear, trying to read my book in peace. It too is a mystery.
He wore scruffy jeans with hand-rolled cuffs, cheap imitation slip-on deck shoes without socks and a loose orange-red ombre shirt with black prints. Palm trees and pineapples I believe. He had but a few thin hairs, the jowls of a bulldog, a fat nose like a boxer and dark, beady eyes that did most of the work. He seemed particularly interested in her but didn't seem to take notice of me in the least. Thumbs for fingers, they mostly sat clenched on his lap in rounded prayer. His actual thumbs twirled away as if burning off the adrenaline of anticipation or fear or both. There was a pair of thick black frame glasses waiting in the shirt pocket. I presumed them more for distance than close work.
The other one, thin and tall sat there across the aisle from me. One row closer to and facing his cohort. His clothes were nicer though seemed somewhat out of place. I said he was thin but it was a sickly, almost terminal kind of thin. He didn't appear frail so I judged him a junky or severe alcoholic. He chain-smoked Marlboro Reds from a hard pack, stamped out the butts on the bottom of well-worn cap toed Derbies and flicked them out the open window only to retrieve another and light it with a stainless Zippo. It had a skull emblem with the American flag in it. The cover was loose and the fluid was running low.
My fingers rubbed at my lips then poked at my left pocket. I remembered my lighter was in the center drawer of my desk at home. He wore dark grey cuff-less slacks and an Oxford white shirt with the sleeves rolled just above the elbows, at least it was on the right. He had a tattoo on his right forearm but it muted to the point I never settled on what it was. I believe there may have been an anchor in it but as I said, I was left uncertain. His hair was short black but choppy in he cut it himself kind of way. Oh, his left ear was pierced. I noticed it when he looked to the window, a silver screw back and single clear stone setting. He had high cheek bones and a bridging nose.
"And Mrs. Ericksen, where was she?" the Detective asked.
She, missus did you say, I-I wasn't aware. My hand scraped at my face and consoled my chest. I knew her only as Diane and don't recall ever seeing a ring. She was always impeccably dressed, well enough I often questioned her riding a streetcar. It was queer. She seemed more a debutante than in anyone's employ. Anyway, she was here, the same row as the thin man but on my side of the aisle. With no one in the seats between us, we faced one another, her and I.
She would only sit in a forward facing seat. She said that to another one of the regulars some time back and it obviously stuck with me - Mrs. Whitney who had never learned to drive. Her husband Jack had driven her until his death in a car wreck no less. After that she began walking and using public transportation for the bulk of her travels. She too recently passed, though from natural causes as I understand it.
Though quite my junior I always held a certain affection for Diane and had multiple times sensed some interest from her. I felt she had an old soul. I could never afford to venture such a pursuit. Could you imagine.
It was a summery Spring day and she was wearing a knee length dress, white pleated skirt, large pleats with Pink Bougainvillea climbing the hem, a wide, crisp white leather belt with a flower applique buckle, pink bodice and an invisible back. She almost always wore simple round cut diamond studs of course each was bigger than a supermoon. She had a thin gold box chain with a subtle gold cross and a Faget hummingbird broach, a thin band gold watch on her right wrist, Longines I believe but no, no ring. I can't ever remember her wearing a ring, of any sort.
"I see," said the Detective.
And nylons and pink patent leather pumps, open-toed. That finished her outfit. Oh and she had a small white leather clutch with her.
"Do you recall her speaking to or with either of the men you described as suspicious?"
I'm not accusing them, just stating they seemed interested and knowing now what I didn't know then it seems so un-circumstantial. To think it was the last time I would ever see her alive. If I had only known but then how could I.
"So you have no recollection of them speaking?"
No sir I don't recall any actual conversation but there was something. The fat guy at her rear appeared to go unnoticed, oblivious to her, a trait I believe she developed in dealing publicly with her looks. She was a stunning beauty, easily could have been one of the top five models in the world in my opinion. Most of the time she seemed a million miles away in a world she created only for herself.
There wasn't anything said but I do remember at one point she looked ill-tempered in regards to the thin man. She looked around as if she was thinking of moving to another seat. I remember thinking it odd that she got off one stop before her usual departure. She seemed to be watching to see if the thin man was going to follow her. He didn't but the fat guy did get off. The thin man climbed off at the next stop and headed north, where we had come from.
"You did nothing to intervene?"
I-I didn't know, especially in the moment, I had no idea what would or could come of it. It wasn't until after that the pieces really started falling into place, hindsight being what it is. I love reading mysteries and have developed what most feel is an overactive imagination so I've learned its oft best to keep my thoughts to myself. And maybe that's all this is me imagining something that didn't happen.
"Sure, sure. I appreciate you meeting me here today. If there's anything else, I'll phone you."
I'm certainly happy to help, especially for Diane, um, missus, what did you say her married name was?
"Ericksen, Mrs. Charles Ericksen III of Ericksen Industries."
The family that owns the shipyard?
"Yes, the shipyard, a tug and barge line, barge manufacturing, rail cars, trucking lines, multiple food co-packer facilities, the largest beverage distributorship in the state and all in all, more money than the Pope."
And possibly more political power too.
"Right, so this one's being tracked with a stop watch."
Well Detective, whether it's the two I described or not, I do hope you get your killer.
"Thanks, all I have to do now is to find Laurel and Hardy."
If I come across either of them, I'll phone you straight away.
"You do that. Oh before you go maybe you could answer one more question."
I waited.
"You described the two men and Mrs. Ericksen so well, can you tell me about anyone else on the streetcar that day?"
I imagine so. I thought back to the day. George the building maintenance supervisor sat behind me, behind the operator William, they are both African Americans and friendly toward one another. They like to chat the whole way. George often brings an egg or tuna salad sandwich and a sandwich bag of Charles Chips that he shares with William. He not supposed to eat and drive at the same time but he's been doing it for so long, no one ever complains, it doesn't affect his performance. George rides all the way to the barn, the end of the line.
"Who else?"
The chatty Kathies were there that day in the seats directly across from me. They get off three stops before Diane's usual stop, seven before mine. All three are named some sort of spelling of Kathy and they all live near one another and believe it or not all three are paralegals. They work for different law firms and the chatter like hungry sparrows the whole of their ride. They typically keep the conversation at a respectful level but do occasionally get loud with a laugh or rebuff.
Old man Fine was there that day too in the front seat across from George. He had been into the city to see his wife at TMC, she was down with pneumonia, real bad from the sound of it. He was quiet with worry, his face was drench in it. He lives on the same street as me, but opposite side of the line. I thought about seeing him home but had a pressing engagement that evening. Beyond that, some college students and strangers got on and off here and there but nothing that stands out.
"What was your, how did you put it, pressing engagement?"
A retirement party for a man who was a great mentor to me most of my life.
"Ah. Good party?"
Actually, I never made it. I took to not feeling well soon after arriving home and wound up in bed early.
"That's too bad. There are far too few parties in my opinion."
Right.
"If I asked you about your ride to work the week before, would you be able to provide such detail?"
With some time to chew on it, I believe so.
"So do I Mr. Thompson, so do I."
Steve, please. Mr. Thompson is a son-of-a-bitch? The Detective snickered and shook my hand. I made my way home and cried for her and for failing her. I hoped I had provided some measure of assistance to Diane.

Swimming with Sharks - Main Title Sequence from Wesley Ebelhar on Vimeo.
Set in the cutthroat world of Hollywood's film industry, Swimming with Sharks follows Lou (Kiernan Shipka), a young female assistant as she schemes to get closer to the studio's executive (Diane Kruger).
Playing off the idea of obsession and ambition we wanted to create an impressionistic sequence where LA's signature bougainvillea vines burst from within the lead characters and entangle them together.

My English is very basic, and I don't have this aap and I don't know how to use this blog, but here we go. How do you think they are and what relationships do Gilbert's sisters have in VE?
Omg. I love this question. I'm lowkey obsessed with the Bougainvillea family because of how little info we have on them. So thanks for sending this! Here we go~
Julia: Actual sass queen. From her letter to Gilbert, I could feel how smart and snappy she is. Knows what she wants in life, takes no shit from anybody. Educated, capable and badass are the vibes that I got from her. If the line of succession were decided by meritocracy rather than being passed down to the eldest male son, I'm willing to bet that she'd be the family head instead of Gil or Dietfried, lol.
I'm not sure what "relationships" refers to here, so I'll just analyze the five siblings + Violet.
She's the leader of the sister trio, if there's any hierarchy in it. I sense a boss here. A bossy princess, maybe, but a sensible one, if you will. Perhaps with a touch of remorse from being able to marry for love while her sisters might not have the same luck.
We saw that she's always gotten along well with Gil, which goes for the two other sisters too, but maybe not so well with Dietfried. I think they might've had disagreements, since they seem like polar opposites. Julia appears to be as dutiful as Gil, but not the least bit lenient. Dietfried's total disregard for his own responsibilities and all the injustice imposed on Gil might've gotten on her nerves.
As for her relationsip with Violet, she was told about Violet by Laurus and Gil before-hand, so she already had an idea of what to expect. Since she was willing to get along with Violet from the very start, I think Julia would be the first of the sisters to warm up to her. Violet hardly starts with the right foot when meeting people for the first time, but even if she happens to give the wrong impression at the beginning, I'm sure they'd soon start getting along.
Henrietta: I believe the second sister is the nice, innocent one. Probably the one who keeps the trio together. Perhaps she's also the one who's more shackled by the orders from her elders than anybody else.
If she's as good-natured as I think she is, she must be faint-hearted as well. This might've made her an easy target for bullying from Dietfried. If he can do it with Gil when they're in their late 20's, he definitely did it with his little sisters when they were kids. Cue more anger from Julia. Gil was probably especially soft on her.
I think Henrietta would be a little freaked out when hearing the truth about Violet and her relationship with Gilbert. But I also think she's the one with the biggest heart out of the three, so although it'd probably take a bit of convincing, my guess is that it wouldn't be long till she accepted Violet. Either that or Julia would be the one to need some convincing from her, lol.
Diane: This one. This one would be the black sheep. My guess is she's annoying but lovable, kinda like Ann. The cliché little sister archetype, but with a touch of genius to her. It's her fucking city, bitches.
There's a big age gap between her and the others. She never met her father or Dietfried, so she hasn't experienced even half of what her other siblings went through. She most likely has single child syndrome, lmao. Gil probably spoils this attention seeker rotten and she loves it.
Diane is at least 13 years younger than Gilbert, so she's only 2 years older than Violet at most. Her older brother marrying someone almost her age probably doesn't look good in her eyes. Plus, she's the one who has spent the least amount of time with Gil out of all four siblings. She might have the feeling that Violet stole him away, just like Ann with her mother. Violet would have to win her over. And she'd definitely succeed. No catfights involved, though. It'd probably go a lot smoother than the way Charlotte had to handle Damian's sister, for example. I bet it'd be funny as hell to watch.

The Aristocrat Woman
One. Two. Three. Swaaay. One. Two Three-- These are the basic steps that one needs to accomplish today. Perfection is a must because it is a duty that a high class noble woman must posses.
"This is hopeless. I can't even dance properly! Huk."
A woman with a glossy navy black hair and a teary dark green eyes sat grumpily on the floor. Such trait is forbidden and not befitting of a lady. It was no other than Henrietta Bougainvillea, the second sister of Gilbert Bougainvillea.
"My lady, do not be discouraged. You are doing quiet alright."
A young woman with an unbelievable godly features spoke in a soft yet elegant manner. It was the famed Auto-Memories Doll named Violet Evergarden.
"That is easy for you to say. You are the perfect embodiment of class, both appearance and character. I envy you."
A small tear escaped from her right eye. Violet became troubled as she immediately sat in front of her and held her hand.
The two are at the dancing hall of the Evergarden's Mansion. At first, they were all shocked to see an unexpected visitor at such an early hour. To add it up, she asked for Violet and after being thrilled by her beauty, Henrietta shamelessly declared,
"Please teach me how to dance like a lady!"
And now here they are. An hour has already passed and the dancing skills of Henrietta still needs a little polish.
"There is nothing to be envied. Lady Henrietta's dancing skill is making progress."
"That's a lie."
"I am unable to lie. Just a little more and you will definitely achieve your goal. Should we try once again? Or would you like to take a rest for a while?" Violet inquired and sincerely smiled at her.
Henrietta was unable to respond as she was once again dumbfounded by the lovely smile of Violet. The beating of her heart became irregular. 'What kind of sorcery is this?' She wondered.
"Is everything alright?"
"Y- Yes! Ah, I would like to talk to you for a while."
".....Very well." Violet stood up and extend her hand at the sitting Henrietta. "Shall we?"
"I...Of course." She accepted it with a glint of embarrassment.
Violet's wording is absolutely of a princess and her gestures is like a reminiscent of some noble knight in a fairy tale story.
They sat in a comfy floral couch together. Violet is the first one to break the silence.
"Lady Henrietta, what is it that you would like to talk about?"
"I want to know why you are in love with my brother. I have read a letter about you. It was a letter that brother gave to older sister. Do you perhaps...hold a grudge against him? I mean. After all of what he did to you and..." She looked at her prosthetic arms and looked away as she was hurt for seeing her like this. "Your arms are no longer...there." Henrietta can no longer hide the pain. The tears overflows endlessly as if to sympatize with her.
Violet was speechless for a second. She held her hand once again and told her to look at her.
"I love the major. And, I will never hate him because he is my precious loved one. A man who gave his 'everything' to a 'nothing' like me. I am glad to be by his side. The arms that I've lost is gone and nevermore return..." She touched the emerald brooch in her chest and gazed lovingly at it. "But, I am very happy that he is alive & well and just being loved by him is more than enough for me."
Her figure is like a maiden in love. Henrietta realized that whenever they talked about her brother, Violet's cold demeanor will naturally change into a warm heartfelt sunshine. A figure that is beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Her etherial loveliness is both a blessing and a curse to those people who got bewitched by her and...She was one of them.
Henrietta is impressed at the sight before her and also, convinced why her foolish older brother is in love with this God like creature.
"I would like to be your friend!"
"Eh?"
"I do not have a friend. Money and influence is always the main cause why I do not have one. But, you are different! I would like to be your friend!" Henrietta bluntly told the stunned Violet. Her appearance is like a mixture of Dietfried and Gilbert but the way her eyes shone excitedly is like a reminiscent of Gilbert's.
Violet let out a chuckle and sincerely responded with a "Yes."
Meanwhile at the Bougainvillea household, Gilbert is arguing with his stubborn mother.
"I cannot consent to any of these. I have a lover and I intend marry her SOON."
"Gilbert, my son! These are the fine young ladies that is befitting to be a Bougainvillea. We cannot allow that commoner to dishonor this household. Besides, your father w--."
Gilbert stood up from the couch he is sitting. He courageously looked at her eye to eye.
"I am the head of the Bougainvillea household and I will marry who I want to marry. Forgive me mother but I will protect the one I love. I've already sacrificed a lot for the sake of this family, and just so you know, I am only able to breathe when I am with her. I will not let you or any of our relatives take her away from me." He said it in a very stern tone and left the room once and for all.
Gilbert's mother was unable to counter argue as she was still unbelievably stunned at the foolishness of her son.
When Gilbert got out of the room, he was surprised to see Julia and Diane, his younger sisters, as well as Laurus, Julia's Betrothed. He looked at his left and right.
"Where is Henrietta?" It was indeed odd for him not to see her when he come home once in awhile. Although, Gilbert cherish his sisters dearly, he still did not like going here because it was suffocating him.
"Sister went to the Evergarden to meet a woman named Violet."
"She did what?!" He was unable to keep his composure because of what he heard. He was about to ran outside when Julia grabbed his hand.
"Brother, please bring your lover to the ball. We will not harm your precious jewel. I, Julia will definitely protect Violet."
"Yes. Diane will also protect Violet. After all, she is the one who made brother this soft."
"You heard it all?" His voice has a glint of shyness but his eyes is clouded in determination.
"Yes. I am sure Henrietta will also feel the same way. Do not be afraid. We will be Violet's ally."
"Thank you." He hugged his sisters and bid farewell. Laurus also went out with him, telling Gilbert that he'll drop him off in the Evergarden mansion.
"Laurus, I have a car." He stated the obvious.
"What's with that chilly attitude. Can't I be good to my future brother in law? Kidding aside, I am actually indebted to you for allowing me to marry your sister."
He started the engine of the car and told him to come along.
"A political marriage. I am glad that the two of you end up falling in love. Julia most likely resented me before." Gilbert let out a heavy sigh and just hop on the car as if already tired of every shit.
"Be at ease, Gilbert. Your flower is well loved and protected."
In a certain room of the Evergarden mansion, there lies two woman who seemed to be enjoying their time. The dance became much more smoother than the previous one. The efforts were paid off nicely. Also, Henrietta was very sorry for stepping at Violet's foot many times.
"Lady Henrietta, if I may ask, why did you requested me to teach you how to dance?"
"There's this ball that the Bougainvillea oldies organized. I already am tired of being ridiculed by the people in that household. Just how dare they treat me like that! I am aware that I got so many flaws unlike my two other sisters but that is too much! I am a human too!" She, once again let out a cry while sitting in the carpented floor. She was but a crybaby.
It appears that Henrietta was really having a hard time and went all the way here just seek the solace that she couldn't have in the Bougainvillea household.
Violet kneeled in front of her, hug her and tried to soothe her while ushering words that will forever remain in the heart and mind of the aristocrat woman.
"I am Lady Henrietta's friend and will forever be, your solace."
So, hush now. You don't have to cry for not being loved anymore.

There are two new booklets of VE. "Dietfried Bougainvillea If" (new) and "Starry night and lonely two" (new work). I wonder what kind of IF this is right now. Do you think the second one might be about Gilvi? I really hope there are more booklets to come
I hope it's about Dietfried actually having balls and never leaving his family. I want to know what he's like with his sisters. Especially Diane. She was born after he left home, which means he never even met her in canon, so I’d love to see them interact (even if it’s just a hypothetical scenario).
I also wanna know what the sisters look like. I’m not even asking for an illustration, just a written description would be fine. I also wanna see more info on how his mother is in canon. All we know about her is that she's very strict.
It most likely is! We already had Gil and Violet visiting Drossel, so I think this one might be about them visiting Iustitia. I wonder if Violet will tell Gil about the stars she studied and all the things she learned from Leon. That would be cute as hell. ;v;

The three Bougainvillea sisters should also be in the anime world. They would have loved Violet too, you knooow? :'( It would have been so cute uwu
True. I think there could be enough time to introduce them in the movie if it were fifteen or so minutes longer. But what good would it be that they would love Violet if Gil was just gonna run away from his family in the end and they’d seclude themselves in the island? ;-;

Do you think the Bougainvillea sisters would love Violet despite being an automatic assassin doll in the past?
I think it’d be better if they never find out. There’s no need for them to know, anyway.

Sorry, my ask didn't go through earlier. I wanted to know info about Gil's sisters. He mentions them briefly but I feel like some people have more info than others...(is there a secret Violet evergarden society of knowledge clan? Shhh... I won't tell). How many sisters are there? What are their name and ages. And where is all this info about V that you have, senpai?
No, there isn’t. 🤣
There are three sisters. From oldest to youngest, their names are Julia, Henrietta and Diane. Julia is the one that Laurus is marrying. Their ages are never revealed, just like everyone else’s.
Hum. It’s in the novel. ^^’

Vow of Everlasting Love - PART 1
The dawning sun is unexpectedly warm after the terrible rain a week ago. The birds are chirping happily in the sky. The trees and the flowers are dancing mellowy in the wind. It was truly a wonderful day for the people who are looking forward for this day.
A special event is about to begin in the land of leidenschaftlich. Today is the wedding of the two important people who are celebrated as the heroes of the Great War. It was a special day for Gilbert and Violet.
Gilbert Bougainvillea, the powerful head of the bougainvillea family and an influential Colonel of the Leidenschaftlich army. His leadership, intelligence and battle skills are remarkably exceptional. Violet Evergarden, a former warrior maiden of leidenschaftlich that holds extraordinary beauty, intelligence and strength oriented abilities. She is currently the most popular and regarded as a legendary auto memories doll in the whole continent, she who was said to saves the hearts of many people.
The wedding will be held at the beautiful Cathedral in Leiden. It was a private and intimate event where families, friends and close companions who became part of their lives gathered together to celebrate the union of the two people.
The security are very tight due to the fact that there are a lot of important people in the said event. Among those who are invited are Queen Charlotte of Drossel and King Damian of Fluegel, the prestigious aristocrat daughter, Isabella York, the famous playwright novelist, Oscar Webster, the well-known theatrical actress and singer, Irma Felice, The chief director of Shahar observatory, Leon Stephanotis and many more.
Gilbert who was standing in front of the guests cannot keep his emotions in tact because of the overwhelming happiness that was budding inside of him. He cannot wait to meet his beloved bride and hold her tight in his arms. He cannot wait to call his Violet, "My Wife" and cherish her all throughout his life.
He is wearing a luxurious white leather wedding suit with gold feathery design that is well suitable for the honorable individual. On his left chest is the golden medals that is regarded as a proof of his excellence and achievements in wartime. And on his right chest is the insignia of his high ranking prestige as a Colonel. His navy black hair is comb neatly while wearing a black eyepatch to hide his lacerated eye. Despite of all the scars that he had, it doesn't hide the fact that he was an incredibly handsome man. His well-toned features and aura blends with the extravagant suit that he is wearing right now
The Bougainvillea and Evergarden families cannot help but glance to Gilbert who is currently smiling like an idiot. It was indeed hard to believe for those people who knew Gilbert to be a stoic and strict man is now freely showing an emotion in front of all the people. They too, cannot help but smile because they can feel that Gilbert is genuinely happy right now. It was truly an unlikely sight to witness especially for the invited superiors and subordinates of the Leidenschaftlich navy and army.
The musicians started to play a slow and ear catching melody and it was Irma who sang the song 'Violet Snow' that is originally composed by those people who loved her which are Gilbert, Hodgins, and Benedict with the help of an automemories doll, Cattleya Baudelair. The song was dedicated to the true nature and lifelong journey of Violet Evergarden in finding the true meaning of love. It was a lovely song and everyone can't help but reminisce the past up to the present time and thought 'Yes. They went through a lot. They deserve to be happy.'
The door opened loudly and everyone glanced to the half open door. Their eyes and mouth went wide because the one who was standing there is a breathtakingly gorgeous bride. Her name truly fits her identity for she is indeed a living Goddess of flowers. It was..
Violet Evergarden, a woman who possess an outstanding sophisticated beauty has become more elegant and graceful because of the perfect ornamented lace fitted wedding gown that she is currently wearing
It highlights the impressively sexy body structure of the bride. Above her perfectly plump breast is the emerald brooch which is in contrast with her shining gem like aquamarine eyes that holds deep mysteriousness within her image and character. Her silky golden wavy hair is beautifully untangled and both sides are neatly braided with violet flowers. Above her head is a golden flower crown that holds gem like irises flower crystals. Her figure right now is considerably rare to the extent because she is too perfect to be in this chaotic world. She was but a stunning angel who came down from heaven and the one who was captivated by her ethereal beauty is now his wife to be. It was Gilbert Bougainvillea himself. The people cannot help but feel envy towards the lucky man because his never ending love was reciprocated by a god-like being.
The one beside her is President Claudia Hodgins, a proud bestfriend and most of all, a proud parent. The two important people in his life is now getting married. The one who was tasked to accompany her in the altar was originally Patrick Evergarden but Violet made a heartwarming request and that is to make Hodgins to be the one to accompany her in their special day. Gilbert also feels the same way and was impressed with the kindhearted request of his beloved. That day the President was so touched to the point where he ends up bawling like a baby.
The most surprising of all is the crying figure of the groom. Dietfried, his older brother tap his little brother's shoulder in an affectionate comforting manner. Once again the emerald and deep aquamarine eyes were glued together as if they were hypnotized by one another.
While clutching his racing heart that was shouting immutable love and devotion for the woman he loved.
While waiting for his bride, he silently uttered the words "I love you, Violet" to her. It reached her. His prayer of love reached her and it made her blush while crying with so much happiness. She responded softly "I love you most...Gilbert" with a genuine dazzling smile and with that, Gilbert blushed when he received the message of love and that is when violet cheerfully laughed in an elegant manner.
The guests are convinced that the bride and the groom are completely absorbed with the presence of each other. Julia, Henrieta, and Diane were surprised with the reaction of their brother and because of that, they end up giggling gleefully. Colonel Laurus and Major Idris laughed at the amusing scene in front of them while the rest of the army and navy gawked at the oddly rare reaction of the mighty Colonel. He was but a soft hearted and affectionate man when it comes to the strong golden haired beauty.
Even with the transparent veil, he could still see her lovely weeping and smiling face. From that moment on, Gilbert realizes how fortunate he is to be loved by her in return and sincerely promises to God to love her endlessly and to make her happy for the rest of their lives.
