✨Star Summer Night - Masquerade Ball 🎆
Greetings, Enderal Fandom,
I have some exciting news to share with you all! The Star Summer Night celebration is fast approaching, and it would be delightful if you would join me on June 1st! 🎇
Although canonically this holiday is celebrated on the first day of spring - according to the Butcher of Ark books, we are choosing to be fashionably late this year - and our good friend Nico approves. He has even kindly provided us with a list of animal costumes that the canon characters would wear for the masquerade🦁
By the way, I will include the text of both letters under the cut below.
So, whether you are an artist, a writer, or simply someone who loves Enderal, we would be thrilled to see what you can come up with. You can share your work on social media using the hashtag #EnderalStarSummerNight.
Can’t wait to see all the fantastic things you create and to share in the excitement of this amazing event together 🎭
Text of the letters from the image:
“Dear Esteemed Guest, You are cordially invited to attend a grandiose celebration of the Star Summer Night, a masquerade ball of utmost elegance and grandeur. This enchanting event will be held at the renowned Ark Theatre on the first day of the summer, commencing at the dusk hour and extending until the wee hours of the morn. The theme of the event is as unique as it is fantastical; we humbly request that you grace us with your presence dressed as the animal of your choosing. Allow your imagination to soar and your spirit to take flight, as we honor the arrival of summer under the light of the stars. With great anticipation, we eagerly await your arrival. Sincerely, The Organizers of the Star Summer Night Masquerade Ball.”
And the second one, which is an addition:
“Esteemed Guest, It is with great pleasure that we anticipate your presence at the Star Summer Night Masquerade Ball. We write to inform you that several individuals, whom you may be acquainted with, have already confirmed their attendance and selected their attire for the evening's festivities: Jespar Dal’Varek — Wolverine, Calia Sakaresh — Red Fox, Tharael Narys — Panther / Hyena, Dijaam Onelys — Scorpion, Lishari Peghast — Cat, Lexil Merrayil — Otter, Yuslan Sha’Rim — Moray Eel, Konstantin Firespark — Grumpy Old Hippo, Tealor Arantheal — Lion, Natara Dal’Veram — Lioness Esme — Albatross, Ryneus — Butterfly, The Father — Immortal Jellyfish We trust that this information will be of interest to you, and we eagerly anticipate your own unique representation at this enchanted gathering. Sometimes I really want to read a short summary of what to expect from a game with a very particular description that CATER to my OWN SPECIFIC interests, so here we go.
what to expect from ENDERAL
Free Skyrim mod which has an indipendent lore and story from Skyrim. It is a sequel of Nehrim but Nehrim is not necessary to understand the story
This game deals with PTSD, abuse, trauma and depression in quite an explicit way to be careful, if you are triggered by these topics
You are a refugee looking for a new life in Enderal. You can choose different abilities (magic/assassin etc.) and races (always half human)
Very eery feeling and mystery feeling - honestly, some of the sequences in this game still haunts me
To avoid spoilers I will just say that you end up thrown in trying to solve a mysterious diseases that makes people aggressive, murderous, called the Red Madness
the game has a lot of lore and is mainly based on finding out more about this mystery and how to stop it - you won't find all of the answers, and not everyone will tell you the truth
like Skyrim the game has combat + dialogue choices, expect that your choices here matter for the outcomes of different quests and the final ending (there are three endings)
many quests are actually quite long and filled with material and characters, not a lot of fetch quests
you have two temporary companions (Calia and Jespar) who are recurrent, and then you have other characters who sometimes accompany you. You cannot choose your companions, they are more like characters who gets assigned to the same quests
Romance is indipendent from your gender and you can romance Calia or Jespar. Both have multi-parts personal quests/interactions
There are other characters who have big roles/quests: Tharael, Esme, Yuslan, Lishari, Dijaam.
The game is quite big, the area/world is also pretty big
One of my least favourite parts is that the game is quite dark - as in I had to use torchlights all the time (my pc also doesn't help, here)
You can buy two houses and decorate them!
The game is relatively linear, you have a series of main quests and you can explore the whole world and accidentally find other secondary quests
beautiful scenery!
there is fast travel all over the world, plus you can ride a horse or a donkey
ALL characters are voiced (a part from the protagonist)
plot? You play as a refugee escaping from their old home. While on a ship to Enderal, you end up discovering you have mysterious magical powers, a magical fever and can sometimes see events that have not happened yet. gameplay? Action rpg with dialogue choices and exploration, story-rich also it is a free mod characters? yes even secondary characters usually have an interesting story/personality. You end up with a cast of main characters, among these Jespar and Calia are sometimes your followers and have personal quests sadness level? MAXIMUM LEVEL
Under cut HEAVY spoilers about death-level in all three endings:
.
.
There are three main endings: one where you sacrifice yourself and it is assumed that part of the city got destroyed... everyone dies but your lover/closest companion. Another ending where you escape with your companion - the world is destroyed and only you two survive. And a third ending where based on when you drink a potion, you save the world without sacrificing yourself and survive with your companion - or did you? It might be a dream.

The Wineglass Question
Kim sees the glass as half-full
Calia sees the glass as half-empty
Jespar just wants to drink the damn wine
Dijaam says the glass is twice as big as it needs to be, and offers to sell you a replacement.
Tharaêl just goes ahead and drinks it. Then spits it out because it was vinegar the whole time.

just finished the golden sickle questline on this playthrough and i haven’t shared my opinions on dijaam yet here. so that is what this post is.
at first glance i really liked dijaam. she’s quite charming and is much nicer to the prophet than anyone they’d encountered in the questline thus far. however during her personal quest i understood how uhh questionable she was, despite the fact that i believe she’s a lot better than maél.
even in real life i despise when people go on a ploy to make others proud of them, which is exactly what dijaam does. she starts with trying to make the prophet pity her regarding her upbringing, but then, in a conceited way, she brings the focus to her own achievements. i (the player) think that not everyone can “rise to the top” the way dijaam did, but in my worldstate, elurah had just bought and furnished the house in the nobles quarter with only money from mercenary work, i.e. done exactly that. so elurah’s just sitting there in both approval and disdain. i don’t like dijaam’s attitude towards how she “earned” her wealth, but i especially don’t like how she assumes everybody can and should do so as well.
maél is extremely racist and sexist towards dijaam. this makes me hate him. why? aside from the obvious, dijaam is good at convincing the prophet to sympathize with her. almost makes you forget that she’s just as motivated by money as he is.
so yes, i believe dijaam walks the line between cordial and manipulative, and that’s the second reason i don’t like her. there is a reason that the first time you meet with her, you aren’t wearing much clothing. i think that’s a bit of a metaphor for the way she tries to lower the prophet’s defenses by acting as a friend rather than as an executive, in the way maél does.
i ended up siding with her at the end, but not offering to split the profits of the scarabeus with her. in other words, the Bad Ending where nobody wins. i see the entirety of scorpion and lion as dijaam progressively betraying the prophet, which is uncomfortable to watch. dijaam is willing to be tortured by the guard to get this scarabeus entirely for herself, and the prophet is just a tool for her to do so. it’s obvious she never cared about the prophet in the first place, and even if they do decide to sleep with her, i think she’s doing it for her own end and not because she actually cares for the prophet (and probably to lower their defenses yet again).
my point is that like every other major character in enderal, dijaam has more flaws than positive traits, and once you get to know her, even more of her flaws are apparent. that’s what i like about this game. no one is a hero, no one is entirely good nor entirely bad, and everyone is figuring things out as they go along, for better or worse. nothing ends well in enderal, and i’m fine with that.

And here we have the outlandus sapiens, shown here to be puffing their quite unremarkable bosom as a means of attracting a mate.

Any moment now, an Endralean will remind them that they are not welcome here. Extraordinary.

The Scorpion Imprisoned
Fictober19  Day 27 - “Can you wait for me?”
Fanfiction - Enderal: Forgotten Stories
Dijaam Onêlys
Warnings: Language, mentions of torture
*********************
Dijaam Onêlys had been in her fair share of predicaments. Living through the sacking of Uunil-Yâr; the war after the death of the Lightborn. She thought she’d seen the worst humanity had to offer.
That was, until coming to Enderal.
The locals made it known they hated her lying, cheating ways, tan skin and accent. A madness was spreading through the common folk like wildfire. And undead apparently roamed anywhere that wasn’t the main city or its neighboring towns like it was a roaring party of the afterlife.
But she didn’t care about that. She’d come for one purpose: retrieving the Jade Scarabeaus. The symbol of her home country Kilé.
Saras’Joduule. Being chained in Ark’s dungeons was ten steps backwards in the grand scheme of things. But she had turned herself in after the Golden Sickle’s leader decided to make himself scarce, scaring the guard and immediately pointing the blame. It was the truth, though, that she had no idea what happened to him. She didn’t care for the man and thought he was a giant stick in the mud with that stick shoved way up his ass. But she did care enough not to do anything to him. He was responsible for the Scarabeaus getting stolen, though. And it seemed her interrogators only cared about where she came from, if the beatings had been any indication.
Saras’Joduule! She turned herself in to prevent more bloodshed! What happened in the Golden Sickle’s trading post—it wasn’t meant to happen like that!
It really wasn’t.
Her thoughts turned to her new partner. A non-local. Someone from Nehrim of all places. Dijaam genuinely hoped that they were okay. After shoving the other woman back down into the crypts so as not to get caught as well, there was a familiar coil of worry in her gut. Not for herself but for the other woman. It was such an odd thing that she laughed out loud.
The guard to her cell yelled at her to shut up. She called them coinless shits.
When no response came, she felt momentary satisfaction. It disappeared when she heard hurried footsteps and the jingle of a key to her door. She steeled herself for another round of interrogation, only to be met with someone she wasn’t expecting. Granted, a rescue was a long shot but Dijaam wouldn’t turn down any chance she had to get out of here. With the Scarabeaus of course.
Bright yellow eyes widened with shock and within a few minutes, Dijaam was out of her shackles. I’ll be damned. Right now, this woman, this tiny woman, was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. Even if she was covered in grime, blood and smelled like death.
Maybe things would start to turn her way again.
