I wasn’t sure what I was expecting from the “do it yourself experiments”, but I thought it’d probably be something like a baking soda volcano that everyone’s seen a million times. Dilton, I’m sorry I doubted you and the publishers of comic books from the 80s. This is actually legitimately really cool.
#however#dilton how and when and why did you take that photo?#of all the photos that could have been used this looks startlingly suspect#don’t be a creep man c’mon#archie comics#dilton doiley#dilton’s strange science#dilton’s home experiments#I’d try it myself if I felt worth the trouble of trying to aquire phenolphthalein#I really like doing chemistry experiments!#I took honors chem in high school and I was maybe the only person in the class who 100% enjoyed it#(the complaints about the teacher moving through things too fast and not explaining well were legitimate but luckily I kept up okay)#I really really wish I still knew stuff about chemistry but I FORGOT basically everything I learned >:(#I loved doing the labs! I loved balancing the equations! I loved all parts of the process!#I even invented a secret code based on the periodic table! and I don’t remember how to solve it anymore! >:(#I’m taking an introductory chem class next semester and I’m very excited to re-learn everything I used to already know#and I hope I RETAIN that knowledge! not just long enough to ace the tests! but forever!#I want to Know Things About Chemistry! 🐸 + sweet Teddy?
YES MY TEDDY BEAR THANK YOU SO MUCH @daughter-of-melpomene
Something they collect: Rocks - but he keeps them hidden away cause he knows Kippi would make fun of him.
Their sun, moon, and rising star sign: Libra, Capricorn, and Scorpio
The first thing they bought with their own money: A chemistry kit, to try out experiments at home since he and Dilton were barred from using the science room at school after one too many explosions.
One positive personality trait of theirs: His unwavering optimism. If you need someone to make you feel better, Teddy will know what to do.
Their favorite 80s song: I'm So Excited by The Pointer Sisters
If they're a good or bad cook: TERRIFIC cook. Seriously, he can do just about anything. It gets even better once he's accepted into culinary school.
Their favorite horror movie: Shaun of the Dead
Who would play them in a biopic about their life: Thomas Mann
Who would play their older/younger version: Jacob Tremblay for the younger version and Jason Segel for the older version
An event from their High School reunion (if they haven't had one, time travel and make one up!): Teddy and Dilton blew up the science room beyond any repairs and had to legitimately flee the country for a few months until things blew over

EPISODE 58
HERE’S A PLAY BY PLAY OF ME READING THIS EPISODE.
Me: “Oh, okay so they DID have sex.“
Me:
-SCREECHES AT BIG ETHEL ENERGY-
I FUCKING KNEW HOW DARE THEY
I KNEW HE WAS ASEXUAL/AROMANTIC!!!! HOW DARE THEY STRING US ALONG THIS STUPID NOT-MYSTERY FOR 58 EPISODES. YOU COULD HAVE DONE THIS SO MUCH BETTER!!! -AAAAAAAAHHHHHH-
WE FUCKING BEEN KNEW!!!!!!
GOD. I LOVE ACE/ARO JUGGIE, BUT THIS TONE THAT EVERYTHING IS ABSOLUTE OKAY AFTER 58 EPISODES (AND WHO KNOWS HOW MANY YEARS IN THE STORY).
Re: The Trula being an exception shit - I’m willing to look past with skepticism because being ace/aro is not something that fits into a fixed set of parameters. Sexuality is fluid and how you experience differs between people. If Jughead is our only ace/aro (maybe demi?) then his representation of asexuality/aromanticism feels kinda iffy if you’re depict him as having an exception. It feels like his character is playing into the very thing you say he’s unhappy with. You’re displaying him and his sexuality as having “found the right person,” which (I’m only asexual so I can’t definitely speak for the aromantic experience) feels so incredibly insulting.
Though they also don’t explicitly state he’s asexual or aromantic which sucks. Do better Big Ethel Energy. Why are you afraid to say it???
BUT GOD YOU’RE JUST SWEEPING IT UNDER THE RUG NOW IT’S DONE LIKE ALL YOUR OTHER PLOT POINTS!!! (Ex: DILTON BEING THE INTERNET TROLL/BULLY (They treated you so bad Dilton, my boy. Honey you did not deserve that), VERONICA’S CHEATING!) YOU’RE SWEEPING UNDER THE RUG.
I am glad there is communication and that they handled it so maturely. But they both spent YEARS feeling a certain way. If I was Ethel and saddled with the emotional baggage due to someone’s treatment of me I would not be over it so fast.
I genuinely appreciate these panels.
But it also feels so wipe-my-hands over and done with. I’m also still a bit bitter that asexuality and aromanticism was a ~mystery~ plot point and was the REASONING WHY JUGHEAD WAS ACTING SO COLD THIS ENTIRE TIME. If you’ve been following along with my read along/rants you know that I think that using his sexuality as the reasoning for his behavior feels reductive. Though, I guess with how Jughead states that he deals with people telling him, “You just haven’t met the right person,” when it comes to romance I understand that he would act irritated by it all or cold to justify his behavior, but I also can’t since he’s been portrayed as acting cold toward the people who only show him romantic interest not those who are dismissing his feelings.
Yeah, no, I’m going back to my original opinion that how they handled this could have been a lot better. They made him cold and crotchety because of his sexuality. That’s not good.
This plot point could been handled so much sooner.
...And honestly does Jughead’s dislike of Ethel actually make any sense? Guy’s my brain is bouncing about as I think about this. They had sex, he found out he wasn’t interested in anyone sexually or romantically, and then he proceeds to avoid her and get pissy at her when she returns home? No, his initial dislike of her makes no sense. Even if you spin it as she reminds him of that time/he has some sort of lingering frustration toward the event of them having sex. It just doesn’t fit right. Emotions can be irrational/misdirected, but I don’t think that’s what’s happening here. And if that was the intention it’s portrayal has missed the mark.
I feel that the writer PLAYED this UP for the tension. His initial reaction toward Ethel in this series makes no sense.
ALSO TRULA FUCKING KNEW???? I’m glad she didn’t say anything cause he wasn’t out, but she also didn’t fucking help with stringing this along. Like I know keeping your nose out of things isn’t good for plot progression, but I’m just ‘Hmmm“-ing how Trula handled it. She can absolutely be a flawed character/ unreliable narrator. NO one has to be perfect in this comic, but I don’t know something with how Trula’s information was handled or presented doesn’t sit right with me.
Alright, so yeah. That’s it for me reacting to this episode. Jughead and how they treated his character was my emphasis for reading this long, so now I wonder what I’ll latch onto next. Maybe if there’s more info or mystery about Ms. Grundy (making her a lesbian was a phenomenal idea 10/10), but I don’t think so? We got answers there, but it also didn’t feel like a finish plot line.
This webcomic feels like a jumble. Anyway that’s it for my ranting this episode.
My personal highlight of the episode: Jughead has an undercut/shaved sides which I like aesthetically.
If you want some straight up good representation of asexuality and aromanticism please check out Jughead 2015.
Also here’s a collection of screenshots of Juggie being ace and aro from the comic if you want to take a look and see what the comic is like. I can’t recommend another comic more highly than Jughead 2015.

Riverdale Rewatch Review - Season One
Hey guys! So, as everyone knows, there’s like, this big thing happening in the world right now causing everyone to have to stay inside and a lot of people have way more free time on their hands than they know what to do with. I am one of those people. After I finish my schoolwork I find that barely even half a day has passed. What do I fill that time with? Animal Crossing. But also, watching Netflix.
I’ve wanted to rewatch Riverdale for the longest time, and I figure that now is the best time to do it.
So, the way this will work, I’ll give my overall thoughts and review of the season, my favorite episodes, and then I’m going to give you a play-by-play of my thoughts while rewatching each episode under the break. So, without further ado:
Overall Review
Looking at the bigger picture of everything I know Riverdale has come to be, I think the statement stands true that Season One is one of their strongest season, if not their actual strongest (Season Four has been climbing up there for me in fav seasons).
Watching it all together, the drama seemed evenly paced, and everyone seemed to get the same amount of screen time, including characters we barely see anymore like Kevin and Reggie. There are some interesting shots, and I found myself jammin to some of the songs they had the characters sing as well as the background music.
It was clear that they had a plan, and they knew where they were going. Hints of relationships happened WAY before they became official, and it seemed like everyone was on the same page, which is difficult to say for later seasons (which I will also be making reviews on shortly).
For only having 13 episodes, Riverdale did an excellent job in it’s first season hooking everyone in to the drama and the mystery, including me. I believe it was after the second or third episode when this blog was created, and I’ve been here ever since. This season is responsible for why a lot of fans stuck around, and for why a lot of fans left.
Overall, I would say it had amazing storytelling, character development, cinematic techniques, and everything else you could think of. My final rating would be a 10/10. Even if you don’t like later seasons, you can’t deny this one was really good, and had a lot of classic Riverdale moments -insert gif of Jughead saying “I’m a weirdo” here bc I tried to find it but couldn’t-.
My personal favorite episodes: Episode 6, Episode 10, Episode 13

this is what riverdale is about (part 6)
part 1
part 2
part 3
part 4
part 5
and now...we come to the end of our journey...the final 4 episodes of the season. who killed jason blossom? you forgot that’s what we were doing, huh. you were way too distracted by sex archie and the jughead/betty relationship (called ‘bughead’ in universe).
i have a friend who has been watching riverdale because i have basically tricked him into doing so and frankly, what i am typing here was and is only the surface of this show’s nonsense. as he watched episodes, he reminds me of all the completely bananas shit that this show throws at you literally every second it is on screen and honestly its a relief to know that, as much as i can try to just give you some basic facts, watching the show itself is still a totally different transcendent experience. its really the only show of its kind; shamelessly stupid but unaware of it while openly delighting in all the silliest cliches presented as straight faced as possible. if these write up do anything for you at all, please, please. watch the show. you will be shocked at how much more there is to discover.
images are from the riverdale wiki
---
SEASON 1 (PART 4):

the lost weekend: this is the one with a very special guest star in it: molly ringwald as archie’s mom! she and fred (luke perry) have been separated for some amount of time for an unknown reason. yay she’s so cute! i love her. oh uh, also they’re getting a divorce. the papers are going through. archie gets the bad news in the middle of a gaming sesh with jughead.
meanwhile, veronica meets with her dad’s lawyer (whose name is paul sowerberry?? he never shows up again despite his unbelievably silly name) and tells him she’s not giving him a good statement as to her father’s character to help him get a lesser sentence. “fuck you dad!” is the general sentiment before she stomps out to go to school.
oh man there’s a weird aspect of this show that i have neglected to mention. this isn’t something i’ve ever experienced in school so it was totally foreign and weird to me but the students have their own lounge that they mingle and talk in...at...some point during the school day?? jughead’s opening monologue of this episode makes great pains to talk about how every moment of their lives are scheduled from 8am to 3pm but there’s apparently plenty of sittin’ time where they can just laze about this random room talking about crimes they have or are going to commit. a great deal of talking happens in this room when usually you’d have to like, sneak a convo while getting shit out of your locker between classes. i dunno, it’s weird. this is where archie tells veronica about clifford blossom sending her dad to jail so he can jack the land everyone is fighting over.
archie and betty make plans to celebrate jugheads birthday by taking him to the movies, which i feel like is in poor taste given his movie house was just destroyed but whatever. with betty coming along it’ll be just like the three muskateers! betty replies “AcTuAlLy ThErE wErE fOuR mUsKeTeErS” and somehow he doesn’t beat her to death with his bookbag right there and then. betty then doubles down on the bad words flowing out of her mouth and proposes they hold a surprise party for jughead since, according to his dad, he’s never had one. i have no idea what would compel her to think he would want this. even i know he doesn’t want this and i only know him through a tv screen. on top of this she goes out of her way to invite his deadbeat alcoholic dad multiple times. i thought she was supposed to be the smart, observant nancy drew type but like...what the fuck betty. jughead does, in fact, get pretty pissed at archie just for telling his girlfriend that he even has a birthday. presumably instead of telling him he emerged fully formed from the leader of the black parade’s forehead.
after finding out from some files that her dad was receiving money monthly from clifford blossom for some unspecified reason before the arrest, veronica challenges cheryl to a dance off and wins. unfortunately, veronica cant come forward with what she knows because it would make it look like her dad put a hit out on jason in retaliation. dance off to relieve the pain.
jughead fucking hates his party and makes sure everyone knows it. this is something NORMAL people do and he is NOT normal!!! he leaves the party in a huff when cheryl shows up to get her dance off revenge by ruining the party by inviting the whole school. this is the episode where he does his famous “im a weirdo, i have a hat” speech, which is deliciously dumb. they get in a fight, while jughead’s dad talks to kevin’s boyfriend (who you will remember is a member of his gang he assigned to keep tabs on the progress of the teens looking into the whole land plot mess) while betty’s mom secretly listens in?!
cheryl activates chaos mode and locks everyone in the house so they can play a game called “secrets and sins” which is really just an excuse for her to ask everyone horrible questions to make them feel bad. veronica accuses cheryl of fucking her brother, dilton doiley tells everyone about grundy’s statutory rape of archie andrews and chuck tells everyone about dark mode betty drugging him for an impromptu bdsm session which causes jughead to go apeshit and try to throw a weak little baby punch. jughead’s dad, as the only adult who for some reason let all this happen, finally throws everyone out and tells them to go home.
archie and veronica sleep together, by which i mean, next to each other in the same room. veronica testifies on her father’s behalf and discloses to betty the link between jugheads dad and the serpents and her dad’s land plot dreams. molly ringwald appears for 20 seconds.
INHALES. OKAY.

to riverdale and back again: its homecoming babey! archie’s very supportive mother has a nice talk with him. :) veronica founds out that her dad only has to serve “a few more months” in prison for his various white collar crimes, further proof that riverdale takes place in america. jughead and his dad have a nice normal breakfast while fp sweats and asks him “hey uh, how come uh you’re writing about the uhhhh murder and investigating it and stuff” like a normal dad would. archie and veronica tentatively agree to start going out.
penelopy blossom brings polly (betty’s pregnant sister, remember her? i didn’t) a strawberry milkshake in the most ominous way possible. veronica plans to sneakily find out if jughead’s dad is helping her own and for what purpose, ultimately. jughead accepts and invite to betty’s house for dinner, not knowing her mom is going to grill the shit out of him and his dad over the whole kid murder thing.
polly finds the ring jason proposed to her with back in penelope’s room while snooping, and has no idea how it wound up back in the hands of his mother. according to penelope, jason threw it in their face when he renounced his lineage, then gives her another milkshake.
the cooper family event is disrupted when betty, wise to her mother’s horseshit, invites her estranged dad to dinner too. all hell breaks loose when the subject of homecoming comes up and fp reveals that while alice and hal were crowned homecoming king and queen, they got in a knockout, drag-out fight backstage. alice flips out before he can reveal what it was about and betty and jughead flee for the dance. meanwhile archie and veronica try, and fail, to find something incriminating in fp’s trailer.
cheryl discovers the milkshakes are DRUGGED and polly is going to sleep through homecoming. she informs her parents that she has disposed of the ring (evidence) and they dont have to worry about it anymore. you can see where this is going.
jughead’s dad drops a bomb on him right before homecoming that they’re going to move to toledo to meet up with jughead’s mom and baby sister. jughead hates this bc he just got used to betty and he wants to write his murder book.
archie and veronica sing a truly terrible cover of “kids in america” that has to be seen to be believed.
youtube
meanwhile, sherrif keller tears up fp’s house with a search warrant and finds the gun that was used to kill jason blossom. WHAAAA??? BUT ARCHIE AND VERONICA JUST SEARCHED IT??? how could this happen.....jughead finds out about the web of deception weaved by the friends and tells them all to fuck off so he can go to toledo with his family. jughead literally turns around and is informed that his dad was just arrested for murder. his life is so hilariously bad.
the sheriff sucks so bad at his job because he tells his gay son everything who then spills the beans to archie and co (sans jughead) who learn that fp is being framed, because they already tossed the place before.
cheryl has the ring. at this point none of these things mean anything.
i cant believe i still have two more of these. i’m going to have to split this post after this one.
anatomy of a murder: as it turns out, archie discovers, information you discover during a breaking and entering won’t hold up in court. oops. meanwhile fp inexplicably confesses to kidnapping jason after his fake drowning at sweetwater river so he could use him as ransom after discovering he heir to all that sweet maple syrup money. according to fp, jason nearly escaped so they cut their losses and blasted a hole in him. he also confesses to torching the car and stealing the sheriff's files (which we, the audience, know hal cooper did, not fp). well. that’s that, i guess.
betty’s dad comes back to the family home to destroy the murderboard evidence all like “whoo hoo! fp took a bullet for me!” hal’s concern and his reason for stealing the files in the first place, as it turns out, was because the feud between the coopers and the blossoms is more complicated than we thought. the coopers WERE blossoms, until grand-pappy was murdered, so they packed their shit and left with a new name. so that makes polly and jason related. cool!
fp apparently used his his last phone call to call kevin’s boyfriend who, after some pressing by the gang, admits that while he didnt see fp pull the trigger, he did help him put jason’s body in a freezer. this tip leads them to the corpse of a serpent who had a sack of money in a monogrammed dufflebag with the initials “h.l.” (hiram lodge). this is a comically dumb move for a crime boss to make. it is shockingly stupid.
joaquin tells kevin about a secret stash he and fp set up before he bounces from town forever because riverdale sucks. in the stash is jason’s jacket. everyone puzzles over what it means until betty, noted brain genius checks the pockets. in it they find a usb drive.
they sit down and watch the usb and react like they’re watching a sad documentary and not a snuff film. betty calls CHERYL OF ALL PEOPLE and tells her what they just saw on the usb. cheryl, queen of chaos, confronts her dad and tells him that everyone knows what he did.
it turns out the video depicts jason tied up in the basement of the whyte wyrm, there the dead serpent watches over him. clifford blossom walks in and blows a hole in his kid. fp confessed to protect jughead, who was threatened by cliff as the heat poured on.
clifford dies surrounded by his greatest love, maple syrup, by hanging himself in the syrup barn. lol

the sweet hereafter: how the fuck is there another episode of this? they solved the murder, what else could there possibly be to do. wtf. anyway.
the cops find hella drugs in the maple barn after clifford’s death. the assumed story is that jason learned about his dad’s heroin smuggling business and threatened to tell the cops on his dad which lead to his abduction, and eventual death. i guess the polly thing is in here too somehow. not important i guess. the lodges prepare for hiram’s arrival. betty and archie are going to be honored by the mayor for cracking the case at the 75th annual jubilee (wtf). hermoine attempts to buy fred out of the project now that the cops are cracking down on the serpents and making them the face of the construction company is now a very bad look.
betty tries to write an article for the town paper about fp being innocent but her parents wont publish it, citing it as a conflict of interest given she’s smooching the subject’s son. jughead FINALLY JUT NOW gets a social worker who realizes that fred has a dui and is not fit to care for a kid. he has to transfer to a new school district...SOUTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL!!!
cheryl apologizes for throwing hands at jughead in a previous ep and gives him her iconic spider brooch. i am only bringing this up because she says, specifically, that selling it will net him a good amount of hamburgers and “s t-shirts” for years. why is she the only one who notices he only wears one kind of shirt. betty’s article getting published in the school paper leads to the above retaliation.
veronica’s mom honest to god asks her to sexually manipulate archie into convincing his dad to sell the project to her.
betty’s mom, after a confrontation, tells betty abt the fight she and her dad had on homecoming night when they were high schoolers. turns out...alice was pregnant. she gave the baby up for adoption after she went to the sisters of quiet mercy, like she did with polly, even though hal wanted an abortion. betty immediately tells all her friends this shit.
jughead transfers to the new high and flourishes. turns out they’re all baby gangsters there so they look at him and his dad as kings to be admired. when the archie group heads off to go rescue him, it turns out they dont need to do anything. but now that theyre all conveniently together, veronica gets a txt from cheryl saying she’s going to go be with jason....
they rush to the river where cheryl is having her ophelia meltdown in his stupid little river boat dress where she punches through the ice until she falls through. theres no way to describe how silly this scene is unless you see it so i won’t try but its so melodramatic and cheesy that youre going to be amazed that it got through the writing team at all. archie saves her by punching through the ice the other way. from under the ice. you will soon find, that all of archie’s solutions are to punch things.
betty does a speech at the jubilee that convinces fred not to sell. a nice ending for him.
meanwhile cheryl burns her fucking house down for a lark. just for the drama of it all.
the same night, jughead and betty start to fuck, as do veronica and archie. not int he same room, like totally separately. but jughead is interrupted by the serpents and a dog named hotdog, who give him a jacket of his own so he can join the team. betty is scandalized.
archie goes to meet his father for a breakfast at pop’s chocklit shoppe for a serious talk. but while he’s int he bathroom, a man with a gun is holding up the chocklit shoppe. he demands fred’s wallet, then pops a hole in him and runs off.
and that.........is where this season......ends.

hey can you write a story for varchie with the prompts 32, 33, and 41 please!!
This was my first time writing Varchie, I’m not used to those characters. I apologize in advance if it suck, xx
Please continue to sent requests from this list of prompt!
32. “Don’t be scared, I’m right here.”
33. “Just breathe, okay?”
41. “I love you.”
.
Night terrors.
Often mistaken with nightmares, night terrors occur during non-rapid eye movement sleep, during the short wave period of sleep. They include motor activity, such as a thrashing of limbs, sweat, exhibit rapid breathing, and have a rapid heart rate.
Along with his knife scars on his lower stomach, Archie also brought home these incessant nightmares. Or, as psychiatrists would say: night terrors.
When an episode would occur, Veronica would wake up - whether from the sweat soaking the sheets or her boyfriend’s thrashing around - and worriedly waited it out, watching his eye go nuts under his closed eyelids. She had tried to wake him up in the middle of an episode but she read online that it was best to wait until the episode had passed before waking him up.
Most of the time, he’d wake up in the morning and wouldn’t remember a thing but Veronica had a feeling those night terrors were about his horrific experience in Juvie.
Once he would wake up, she’d keep Archie awake by holding small conversations that wouldn’t trigger anything just to make sure he wouldn’t fall back asleep too quickly, knowing there was a higher chance to have a second episode in the same night.
Tonight, they talked about Vegas. Archie missed his furry best friend a ton while he was in Juvie - even more than his dad but, he won’t tell Fred that. Although he had escaped, going home wasn’t possible. Not yet. The guards from L&L - and probably Sheriff Minetta and his men too - were still searching for him, therefore, he had to stay in Dilton’s bunker.
Veronica furrowed her eyebrows, seeing something that wasn’t there before. “What’s this?” she asked, her finger going over the dark, wrinkled patch of skin on Archie’s hip.
Archie looked down and stiffened, terror flashing through his eyes at the memory of his scar. “I-” His breathing quickened and suddenly he couldn’t breathe. It was like the air he inhaled from his nose was stuck somewhere and couldn’t get to his lungs. The redhead sat up on the bed and brought a hand to his chest, panicking. With wide, terrified eyes, he looked at Veronica. “Ron-”
Lucky for him, it took Veronica two seconds to put two and two together: he was having a panic attack. She’s had her fair share of those following her father’s arrest back in New York.
Veronica kneeled beside him. “You’re having a panic attack. It’s gonna be okay. I’m gonna walk you through it.”
“I’m gonna need you to empty your mind and focus on your breathing. In…and out. You have to concentrate on your breathing, Archie.” Archie opened his mouth to speak but she shook her head. “Just breathe, okay? Breathe with me.”
She coached him through his panic attack, putting the redhead’s hand over her chest so he would follow her breathing pattern and soon, Archie’s breathing was back to normal.
“Ronnie?”
“You don’t have to tell me. If thinking about it triggers a panic attack-”
“He burned me, Ronnie.” He pushed the elastic of his boxers down a bit, revealing the whole scar. “This scar you see here, he did it to me. He took his fiery stamp and pushed it on my skin until it melted.”
Veronica’s face twisted into horror, tears brimming her dark eyes at the thought of the barbaric practice that happened behind closed doors. Burning someone? What era were they stuck on?
“Who?” she demanded, fearing her father was behind this. After everything he did as revenge because she chose Archie over him, she wouldn’t be surprised if he was the mastermind behind Archie’s burn.
“Warden Norton.” Archie paused and guild invaded Veronica. She knew it. “Every time I see it, every time I think about it- It’s like I’m re-living the moment over and over again.”
Sensing the terror and anxiety inside of him rise, the raven haired girl pulled Archie into her in hope to reassure him. She couldn’t imagine the mental disturbance an experience like this must leave on you. It’s the type of horrible memories that will never leave your brain.
“Don’t be scared, I’m right here.” She held him tighter, pressing her cheek on tip of his red hair. “It’s over. You’re safe.”
Archie tightened his hold on her, needing to feel her close before his mind would swallow him.
“I love you, Archiekins. I’m so sorry for everything that happened to you.”

Knowing Pt. II
Hi!
This is sort of a follow up to my last piece. Again, I am no writer, sometimes I just have things in my head I wanna write out. This was inspired by the promo shot of Betty and Jughead kissing with his hat in his hand, and by the ending of last episode. Mild spoilers ahead!
Her entire body froze the moment her gaze flittered across the old photograph. Her own smile, the one she had spent countless shameful hours flashing into her mirror, critiquing the shape, how much her teeth showed, the way her cheeks bunch around her eyes, was turned up to her from a frozen snapshot in time. Confusion prickled at her mind as she lifted the photograph and flipped it over, looking for an explanation or a notation, like the kind she inscribed on the back of her own photographs in pristine hand writing before tucking them into the frame of her mirror, but found only a blank back.
It was taken in a class room that didn’t stick out in her memory in any way, her own figure sitting at a desk, slightly turned away and erupting in laughter. She knew instantly that it was taken without her knowledge, or she would not have let her smile grow so broad, her gums showing. Judging from her clothing in the image and the roundness of her face she could guess it was taken a year, or perhaps two, prior.
She lifted her gaze to her beanie-clad partner, both of them standing out in the unfamiliar space. His suspenders were stretched over his rounded shoulders and his face was turned away as he crouched over a wide desk, pulling drawers open, shuffling through art supplies and drawings, his long fingers grazing over pens, markers, papers, unsure of what they were looking for. Betty spoke after only a moment of hesitation.
“It’s me.” She declared almost too loudly in the quiet room.
Jughead’s blue eyes flicked to her immediately, his brow already furrowed from his hasty investigation through Dilton’s personal belongings. Betty watched his gaze drift to the photo she was holding up towards him, her own confusion mirrored in his expression until is cleared away to recognition, or understanding? Before she could name is properly his face shifted to smug, the small smirk that played across his mouth confused her further. And irritated her.
Which must have reflected on her face as her mouth snapped open to demand an explanation. Jughead raised his hands up, his palms out in mercy right before she began full steam, “Why is this here!? Tucked away in a book, even! Was he trying to involve me in these rituals – Why are you smiling??”
“Ah – I’m not.” Jughead began, his hand reaching to his beanie as if to tug it, but his stayed suspended near his eyeline “You see, he is– was - “ he grimaced at his own use of present tense, licking his lips to restart his statement,
“He sort of… Had a thing for you.” His hand fell to the back of his neck, the unique composition of shame coming from breaking a confidence filtering across his face. Which she recognized easily from years of her countless demands of which girl Archie was interested in, wanting to know what Ethel had passed to Jughead in a note, demanding there be no secrets between the boys and herself.
“What..? Did he say that to you?”
Jughead shook his head, crossing his arms across his chest and lifting his shoulders in a small shrug, his gaze landing on her face again, something guarded in his eyes.
“No, but he didn’t need to.”
“Since.. When?” Her mind filled suddenly with Dilton, his nervous smile, his glasses constantly partially fogged. Insisting she read his favorite fantasy novel, offering to help her with her biology homework. Handing her a small, sloppily wrapped Christmas during secret Santa. The loss of this person she didn’t make enough effort to know, the reality that he was gone consumed her, filling her lungs with a painful ice grip. The room seemed to tilt under her feet, too warm and too muggy, this room was suddenly unbearable – which she had never stepped foot in until 10 minutes prior – filled with his things, his memories, his –what right does she have- oh God.
‘Betts”, her heart throbbed again as the familiar sensation of Jughead’s palm resting against her cheek cut through the panic. Her hand lifted to his chest, her palm flat against the spot where his heart resided. She counted the rhythm, strong and sure under her scarred skin. She allowed herself several moments of counting, the feel of his heartbeat one of her favorite sensations, before she lifted her gaze to his to repeat, “Since when?”
The question was met with his soft, concerned look she was so familiar with, that she somehow both loved and hated, that made her feel cherished and hatefully fragile simultaneously. His mouth formed a crooked line of indecision momentarily before he shrugged again, his chest rising with movement under her palm.
“Since…I don’t know. Since you wore that yellow dress…The one that was sort of crinkly material and had the bow in the back? Freshman year.”
She furrowed her brow, seeking the memory in her mind.
“You looked like lemon meringue.” He added softly, not quite teasing. Food he always took seriously.
A second wave of demanding questions was forming in her throat but stilled to silence when he continued, “Since our seventh grade science fair? When you did your presentation on those slugs, but you couldn’t complete your experiment because you became too attached to them. You spent the entire presentation explaining their personalities and why you named them after leaders of the women’s suffrage movement.”
A smile erupted on her face at the memory, recalling how she made Archie and Jughead help her return each beautiful slug back to their natural habitat, both boys gagging and complaining the whole time.
Had Dilton been in that class with them?
Her smile fell.
“Since you yelled at Reggie and called him ugly when he made Ethel cry in fifth grade?”
Betty blinked.
“You walked her home and baked her cookies the next day. They were peanut butter with a Hershey kiss stuck in the middle.”
Unexpectedly, Jughead flushed furiously, and took a step back from her. His arms wrapped across his chest, his weight shifting to lean against Dilton’s desk as he shifted his gaze away from her. She could see the flush on the tips of his ears.
Later, when writing in her journal, Betty wouldn’t be able to describe this moment to fully explain how it felt when this warmth, prickling really, started at her scalp, filled her face with heat, sent her heart plummeting into her stomach and her knees actually weaken and begin to shake. It was like the sun rising, like waking up anxiety free, like getting glasses and seeing a flower up close, this whole new beautiful world opening up to her.
It wasn’t until this very moment did she realize that she had this amazing, big hearted, mess of a boy by her side, loving her this entire time. He had loved her always.
(She knew, very clearly remembered now, that Dilton was always around on the weekends and summers, but he had undoubtedly spent fourth through eighth grade at a military school that he had begged his parents to go to. He returned to class with them after an incident in which he had pulled a practical joke on another student with itching powder who ended up having a severe allergic reaction that sent them to the hospital.)
Having also realized his slip Jughead huffed a little annoyed breath as a smile blossomed across her face, down to her toes, to the tips of her fingers, “Juggie…” she began, closing the space between them tentatively.
He pushed at his hat nervously, tugging on his hair in a familiar, anxious habit.
These moments of self-doubt and hesitation were much fewer and farther between at this stage in their relationship. The confidence that he had of her love for him typically radiated from his skin. He would drum it out from his long fingers to the length of her torso as they lay next to each other, exhausted and spent from passion. He would hold the truth of her undeniable love tucked away in the corner of his lips, always ready to pull into a smile.
This moment of vulnerability and fear felt like the last of its kind, breaking away this last hidden piece of his heart. He pulled his hat off in a fist, running his other hand through his hair a few times, readying himself to speak. She gave him this moment, this last vestige of the wall he kept around his heart that he had torn down for her. To love her and be loved by her.
Both arms were crossed across his chest in a protective pose, his hat fisted into the crook of one his elbows. His mouth was set in a stern line, but his were so, so soft when they met hers, “You are very easy to love.”
She closed the distance between them fully, pressing her body against the length of his, pushing her hips into his, threading her fingers through his hair, cupping his jaw, tilting his beautiful, stubborn face up to her own to kiss him sternly.
She held him firm and true, not caring they were wasting their snooping time, not caring they were in a strange room. She stood a little taller than him with him sitting and took advantage of the delicious angle, tipping his head back, pressing soft insistent kisses to his lips, his checks, his nose, his jaw. While his body language remained rigid, tucked into himself, his face was soft and peaceful. His eyelashes jumping and resting with each soft kiss she gave to him.
She had never really been that good with words, not the way Jughead was. He was witty, he was thoughtful. Yes, she could investigate, and push herself and write a flaming article with great talking points, but when it came to expressing her own feelings in her own voice she stumbled. She tripped up and repeated herself. She never quite got the words out the way she wanted, they never sounded to her hears the way she was shouting them from her heart. There were so many things she wanted to tell him that didn’t sound right with her voice.
So, she slipped her useless tongue against his gently, wanting tell him everything this way. To say, thank you for loving me all along. You are easy to love, too.
She knew that she would probably feel this small guilt in her heart forever. Partially hating herself for not knowing of or being able to discuss with Dilton his affection for her, and partially hating herself that she could not truthfully tell Jughead that she always felt the same for him as he did for her. She could pour all of her love and longing and heartache into this kiss and this boy, and he would be there to take it all from her.
Eventually, and all toon soon (remembering where they were and that a grieving family was sure to walk in on them at any moment) Betty pulled away from Jughead slowly, his mouth traveling with her, his lips the last point to lose contact. His eyes opened slowly, blurrily, grief and love mixed together in his achingly beautiful gaze.
Betty had to swallow down the emotion that rushed through her, causing the corner of her eyes to prickle. Her gaze landed on the ground between them to the blank photo back innocently empty to them now.
Jughead reached over to pick up the photo that had fluttered out of her hand. It wasn’t until he was lifting himself back up with the photo in hand facing towards them did she notice the most important detail. Mostly cut off by the framing of the shot, but in the corner, clear as day, and in the direction photo-Betty was turned to, the source of her carefree laughter, was a hand on a desk. A hand she’d know anywhere, from countless touches and moments being intertwined with her own. The hand that touch her own bloodied palms and covered them with understanding and acceptance.
Betty placed the tip of her index finger on the photo-hand that she adored and declared, “It’s you.”
Jughead jolted in surprise as he whipped his gaze to hers from the photo, her smile warming in response to his wide eyes. He blinked at her for a beat, before his features melted into her favorite half small, his eyes softening and turning her to goo all over again.
Reaching into his pocket he withdrew is wallet, folding the picture to slide it into one of slim pockets before returning it to the worn square in his jeans. His eyes flicked to her before softly wondering, “Think he’ll mind..?”
Betty shook her head softly, her ponytail brushing along the line of her shoulders, and her smile faded with the movement.
As they left the darkened bedroom dusk began filtering through the window, casting long orange shadows across the walls. In time with their padding steps Jughead’s hand slipped warmly into hers, as it often so easily did. Betty turned over her shoulder to gaze back into the room belonging to a boy she did not know well enough and closed her eyes for one quite moment. She said a small little prayer from her heart to Dilton, again, not having the right words...
I’m sorry. Thank you.

Again,
read under the cut!
She couldn’t breathe. She was covered in sweat. Her heart was pounding against the walls of her chest. All she could see were photos of herself; photos that she didn’t realize were being taken by someone she thought she could trust, some even right through her bedroom window. She couldn’t feel her fingers. “Dilton?” She said, scared to continue with her question. The uneasy feeling intensifying tenfold. The look in his eye was predatory. She was alone with a fucking psychopath. “Yes, Betty? Do you like them?” he asked her, innocence in his tone. “W-why do you have these?” “Because we belong together, Betty. You’re mine. You always have been. And I’m yours. Do you see? I’m everywhere you are.” He began walking towards her, his hand grabbing something from his back pocket. “What are you doing?” He came to an abrupt stop right in front of her. He rolled up the sleeves of his shirt baring his forearms to her. By the time she figured out what he had in his hand, he had already grabbed her. “Betty, you’re mine. I mean it. You’re mine and I’m yours and I’m going to carve it into your skin so you’ll never forget it.”
She woke herself by screaming.
Tears had streamed down her face, she didn’t know how long she had been crying but she knew it had to have been a while. Her face was swollen and she was trembling. It had been so long. He shouldn’t be able to just come out of nowhere and infect her dreams anymore, especially not with him locked away.
“ Shit, Betty. Get yourself together,” she thought to herself.
After allowing herself a moment to regain composure, Betty padded her way into the kitchen where she began making coffee. She wasn’t the type to miss work, not even after a nightmare like the one she just had. She was feeling drained, sure, but she could be a little slower at work. She could use the distraction anyway. So once she finished her coffee, she jumped in the shower to wash the last of that horrible night’s sleep from her body, then got herself ready to kick the day’s ass.
-
She was feeling so much better by the time she was ready to leave the house. She had listened to music so she wouldn’t feel alone, checked her blog notifications, and read a little more of wordsbyjughead”s stories, trying to find an answer to his question. She decided she wouldn’t let the night die down without responding.
-
Walking from the house to her car, she spotted Mr. Jones next door doing the same. Thoughts of last night’s fantasy flooded her mind and she suddenly felt warm and flushed, just as Mr. Jones looked at her. He smirked. FUCK. “Good morning, Mr. Jones. How are you today?” she called over to him.
“Please, Elizabeth. Call me Forsythe. I hate the name, but I hate it less than Mr. Jones. I know it’s cliche, but Mr. Jones is my father. I’m doing well, how are you doing?” He had an ease about him when he talked to her. He always maintained eye contact. Betty always felt like he was staring into her soul when they exchanged even the smallest pleasantries.
“I have had better mornings, Forsythe. But don’t worry. I won’t let it bring me down,” she said with a smile.
“Good girl,” he said.
Betty’s heart felt like it had come up her throat and dropped down to her toes all at once. Good girl. Good girl!!! She remembered him saying the same thing to her in the same fucking tone less than twelve hours ago as she sat in her bathtub and pleasured herself. Shit, shit, shit . She was losing focus fast and needed to say something so she didn’t look like a total jerk. Instead, she smiled her signature bright, blinding smile and winked before getting into her vehicle.
What the fuck am I even doing??? She thought to herself. First Jughead, now Mr. Jones? She mentally scolded herself for her out-of-the-ordinary behavior and set off on her way to the office.
-
Her day had seemingly flown by. She spent most of her day responding to emails. She did a little editing, and some research, and before she knew it, it was time to head home. After forging herself something to eat, she sat at the table scrolling through wordsbyjughead. She vowed to find him an answer before she went to bed, but it was proving difficult. She really enjoyed all his stories. He was always dominant in them, that much was clear, however he was also soft; almost overly romantic in some of them. Those, she decided, were her favorite.
-
“We went back to my place after, both of us tired and nearly spent. I couldn’t let the night pass, though. Not without telling you. So, I did. ‘I love you,’ I said, and I put my entire soul behind the words. When you looked at me in shock, I said it again. I put more feeling behind it, if that were even possible. ‘I love you,’ I whispered.
“A slow smile spread across your face as you walked toward me. ‘I love you, Jughead.’ You let out a small laugh as the words left your lips. Almost like you couldn’t quite believe your mouth had betrayed you like that. You were happy though, and I took a step to close the distance between us. I nudged your nose with my own before bending slightly. I grabbed your thighs and hoisted you up so that you could wrap your gorgeous legs around me.
“You could feel my arousal just as I could feel your warmth. I began walking toward the nearest surface I could think of, which happened to be my kitchen counter. Hands freed, I used them to stroke your legs, to push past your skirt. My mouth moved from your mouth to your jaw to your neck to your collarbone. I was starving.
“I hooked my fingers around the band of your panties and whispered ‘Lift.’ With your panties off and in my pocket, I turned back to you. You were panting, your normally bright eyes turned dark with want, and you were so turned on you could hardly stand it. I took a step back and gripped your ankles. ‘Scoot back,’ I directed.
“Once you were back far enough, I placed your heels on the edge of the counter one foot at a time. ‘Don’t move, Princess.’ You were totally exposed and glistening. Fuck, you looked delicious. I had to taste you.
“I wasted no time with teasing. Instead, I dove right in; your juices coating my tongue made me growl into you. Going down on you was an experience I’ll never be able to forget. You tasted amazing, smelled incredible, and you were so fucking responsive. I licked your core, closed my lips around your most sensitive spot, nibbled and sucked and devoured until you could hardly stand it.
“Once I sensed you were close, your legs shaking and your moans growing louder and more uninhibited, I thrusted two fingers deep inside you. I lifted my head only to look at your face, and damn you were a sight to see. Your eyes were rolling back, your mouth slack, your body straining against the pleasure. I smiled at you, my perfect girl, and got back to work.
“I dropped my mouth back to your gorgeous pink core and continued thrusting my digits into you. I curled them inside you while gently biting your clit causing you to scream. ‘Come for me, baby girl,’ I told you, and like always, you listened. You splintered. I removed my face and hand only to replace them with my cock, thrusting into you hard and fast.
“‘Oh god, please, please,” you cried. I thrusted harder, my body stimulating your clit consistently. I could feel you falling apart again. ‘Not yet, sweetheart. Wait.’
“You groaned in frustration but held back, waiting for my voice to tell you it was okay. I blissfully tortured you for a few more moments before nodding, ‘Now, baby girl. With me.’ The look of relief and ecstasy that crossed your features was something out of a dream.”
-
cookiesandcupcakes: I think I found my favorite story on your blog if you’re still curious.
wordsbyjughead: Oh, I’m still interested. Go ahead.
cookiesandcupcakes: I think they’re all good- I stand by my statement from yesterday, but my favorite is the one which features the kitchen counter.
wordsbyjughead: Hmm. Interesting. What do you like about it?
Betty grew slightly flustered at his question. She wasn’t expecting to have to admit more than which story she liked best. Was he psychoanalyzing her?
cookiesandcupcakes: I don’t really know. I can’t put my finger on it exactly. Maybe it’s because of the intimacy? There is an intimacy present in all your stories, but this one feels different. Maybe it’s the declaration of love?
cookiesandcupcakes: Also, as a woman, I would think it would be really exhilarating to be exposed like the woman in your story.
Hitting send before she could talk herself out of it seemed to be a recurring theme while talking to Jughead. Betty waited for what seemed like hours but in reality was only a few minutes for his reply.
wordsbyjughead: Not to be creepy, but can I ask your name?
cookiesandcupcakes: It’s Betty. Why?
wordsbyjughead: Because I just learned so much about you, but I realized I didn’t know you by any name other than the handle of a baking blog. Hi, Betty ;)
cookiesandcupcakes: Is your name really Jughead?
wordsbyjughead: No, it’s just a horrible nickname which hides my even more horrible birth name. I’ve been known as Jughead my whole life, at least until I started my career. I’m a writer, you know. Can’t be going by Jughead for my published works.
cookiesandcupcakes: Aha! I knew it! What genre are your published works, if you don’t mind me asking?
wordsbyjughead: I told you, it’s a secret. Why do you want to know, Betty?
cookiesandcupcakes: Because my day job requires me to interview up-and-coming authors and feature them in a well-known literary journal. I’m wondering if your writing would be the type of writing which would be interesting to our readers.
wordsbyjughead: Well I can tell you for sure that it’s not what I have on my blog. I enjoy writing mystery and suspense. Sometimes even thrillers. My published work is definitely different from what I post here. I keep them very separate.
cookiesandcupcakes: Do you enjoy one more than the other? What possesses you to write the kind of material featured on your blog?
wordsbyjughead: I love my professional writing. My first novel was born out of pure need to have my words published. That particular work was based off the town I grew up in. There was a great tragedy that affected the entire town. No one else was telling that story, and it needed to be told. I love that I’m capable of sharing such things with a large-scale audience and it’s well-received.
wordsbyjughead: On the other hand, though, this blog was born from a different kind of need. I am good with words. I always have been. I enjoy women. I enjoy making women feel good, both physically and emotionally. I enjoy building a woman up and then breaking her down blissfully. I enjoy giving a woman peace and safety. I have a dominant personality, Betty. I’m not into whips and chains, I don’t need them and never will. I use words.
wordsbyjughead: I needed an outlet for myself.
That surprised Betty. She wasn’t even sure why.
cookiesandcupcakes: So then, Jughead. What is your analysis on me based on my favorite story of yours, then?
wordsbyjughead: My analysis, Betty, is that you’re in desperate need of a guy like me. Someone who would take the weight of the world off your shoulders. Someone who would allow you the intimacy you crave without you feeling ashamed for it. Someone who would take care of you. That’s what you really want.
cookiesandcupcakes: Jughead, how… How do you know all that? Just from my story choice?
wordsbyjughead: Well, Betts. You took an entire day to decide on a story. I’m sure you scrolled through my blog in its entirety looking for the most perfect choice. You wanted to pick a good one. You subconsciously needed to pick one that would please me (it does please me, I promise you). You’re also revealing more of yourself today because you’re feeling more comfortable with me. I’m thankful for it too, by the way. I can tell you crave intimacy because of the story you chose, yes. There’s a different level of passion in that one. It’s like the upper echelon of emotions so intense there are no names for them. Am I wrong?
She thought for a while about what he was saying. He pretty much hit the nail on the head, she had just never put it into words before.
cookiesandcupcakes: You’re right. I’ve just never thought of myself in that way, nor would have had the words to describe it.
wordsbyjughead: I’d say so! So what are you going to do with this new information about yourself?
cookiesandcupcakes: Honestly, I’m not sure. What would I do?
wordsbyjughead: I can think of a few things, if you want. You know, to test the waters a bit.
Betty thought about it. Jughead was absolutely right about everything he’s said so far. Besides, if she took him up on his offer, he probably lives on the other side of the country. She could always block him if whatever this was ended up getting too intense for her liking.
wordsbyjughead: I can practically hear you thinking across the chat window Betty.
cookiesandcupcakes: Sure. I’m in.
-
The next day was Betty’s scheduled day to work from home. She sat at her table, laptop open, staring at Jughead’s blog. His words still hadn’t left her from the night before.
Rather than pleasuring yourself to one of my stories, just plugging someone’s face in as mine, I want you to pick one and pretend you’re the woman. Pretend I’m the man. I want you to come with my name on your lips, Betty. I want to hear you say it.
She did. And then she did again. And again.
-
A little later in the evening, Betty received a message notification from Jughead. She settled in with her computer and opened it. She was prepared for just about any outcome. She had done as he asked, though picturing him without knowing what he looked like was a little difficult, but that was part of the appeal, she supposed. But, she had also ran every possible scenario through her mind. It’s what she does, what makes her Betty Cooper.
wordsbyjughead: Good evening, Betty.
cookiesandcupcakes: Hi Jug.
wordsbyjughead: So, I’m not a big fan of beating around the bush. I’m just going to come right out and ask, okay? Did you do as I asked? Were you a good girl?
cookiesandcupcakes: Yes, I did.
wordsbyjughead: And? How did you feel? How many times did you do it?
cookiesandcupcakes: More times than I should have, most likely. I lost count.
wordsbyjughead: Oh baby girl, you really were good for me. But you didn’t tell me how it made you feel.
cookiesandcupcakes: It felt different, but not in a bad way. It was insanely sexy knowing that someone else knew what I was doing.
wordsbyjughead: Good girl. Are you ready for your next assignment?
This was the outcome she was secretly hoping for. The one she spent the most time thinking about between the end of their conversation the previous night and right now.
cookiesandcupcakes: Yes. I’m ready.
-
A few days later, Betty found herself literally bumping into Mr. Jones again. She was returning to the house after checking her mail and he was out for his afternoon jog.
“Oh, Elizabeth! I’m so sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going! Are you alright?” He asked, genuinely concerned.
“Yes, Forsythe. It’s okay. I’m fine, see?” She turned to show him she suffered no bumps or bruises. “Thank you for checking, though. It’s very gentlemanly of you.”
He smiled. “I've been meaning to ask you but haven't had the chance. Are you feeling any better? Last we talked you seemed a little off, almost sad. Or scared.”
She returned his smile with a warm one of her own. “I'm doing very well. Thank you, honestly, for checking on me. It's nice knowing you have someone looking out for you.”
“Absolutely, Elizabeth. If you ever need anything, you know I'm just next door.”
“Thank you, Mr. Jones. Enjoy the rest of your run.”

Jealousy Pt 9
Word Count: 3347
A/N: haha, she didn’t delete this one in my French class! Enjoy guys, much love
MasterList
It was a quiet day in Riverdale, the rapids of Sweetwater River calmed to a slow and steady stream, the leaves on the trees stood calm, and the birds ceased their singing. All was oddly still, and no living and nonliving thing bothered to disturb it. Inside the Andrews house, Jughead sat writing on his laptop and Archie sat strumming his guitar, the boys were home alone due to Fred being out of town to meet with Archies mother. Together, the boys enjoyed the silence of the afternoon, that was until Jugheads phone rang loud, scaring the two boys half to death. Archie picked up Jugheads phone off the bed and looked at the caller ID, smiling softly to himself, it was Y/N. Sure, Archie was with Betty, but he couldn’t help but still have feelings for the y/h/c girl, and calls from her were rare these days, and no one had physically talked to her face to face considering what happened to her a few weeks ago. It didn’t deter her, the incident, she was still going as strong as ever to solve Jasons murder, but she hadn’t talked to anyone about what had happened in the school. She knew who killed Jason, everyone knew she did, she just needed more evidence, evidence that wasn’t purely circumstantial or just based off her word.
Rumor was that she told Sheriff Keller who attacked her in the school that night, but he didn’t listen to her. He wrote it off as a ‘vision/hallucination based purely on adrenaline and fear’, and sent her on her way. Keller wouldn’t tell anyone who she had named the attacker, nor did he plan on it anytime soon. People were starting to think that he feared the murderer, of what this person could do. Around Riverdale, if you were of any higher status, you were now automatically a suspect.
“Who’s calling me?” Jughead asked, snapping Archie out of thought.
“Y/N.” he said, tossing the phone to the beanie-less boy. Jughead looked at the caller ID and his face lit up, she hadn’t called him in days, and he was getting worried. He swiped to answer it, and brought the phone to his head.
“Hey Juggie.” Y/Ns voice rang through his ear, and he smiled.
“Hey princess, how are you doing?” he asked.
“A little sore, very tired, very hungry for a cheeseburger at Pops, and very much in need of a date. What do you say?” she asked hopefully, and Jughead chuckled.
“Yeah, I’ll see if Dilton wants to join you there, I’m assuming you don’t have his number.” Jughead teased, and he heard a giggle on the other end.
“Sounds good, why have a writer when you can have a boy scout. Maybe he’ll teach me how to shoot a gun.”
“Or tie a knot.” Jughead said, earning another laugh from Y/N on the other side of the phone. “I’ll meet you there in 15, sound good?”
“Only if Dilton is there.” She said, and Jughead rolled his eyes playfully.
“Alright, see you then. Hey, Y/N, you remember that I-“ before he could finish the sentence, the phone beeped, signaling that Y/N had hung up. “love…you…” he mumbled to himself.
“Love you too, bro.” Archie said teasingly, and Jughead rolled his eyes.
“Not for you, Arch. That was for Y/N before she hung up on me.” He said, grabbing his beanie from the side table and putting it on.
“Did she sound better?” Archie asked, wanting to make sure Y/N was alright.
“She did, but then again, Y/N is a terrific actress and liar, so I doubt she’s okay. But I’ll find out for sure when I meet her at Pops.” Jughead said, and Archie nodded.
“Please keep me updated.” Archie asked, and Jughead eyed him suspiciously.
“You’re done with Y/N right, you know she’s with me, and I’m planning of having it that way for the rest of my life.” Jughead stated protectively, and Archie felt his heart drop a little bit, but he didn’t want to show it. He threw his hands up in surrender and gave a half-heartedly chuckle.
“She’s one of my best friends Jug, I just want to make sure she’s alright. The whole town is on edge that she’ll be the next Jason Blossom, and I’m sure she thinks she will be too, just take care of her.” Archie said, sighing. Jughead nodded slightly and reached for his shoes.
“I’m sorry, Arch. I don’t know what got into me there, I shouldn’t have started accusing you of things. You’re with Betty now, and I guess I just-“
“You don’t have to explain yourself, just make sure she’s okay, please.” Archie said, and Jughead put his shoes on, making his way out of the room.
“Always.” Jughead called, running down the stairs and out into the cold, autumn afternoon. He started walking down the street, his hands in his pockets and started thinking on how he was going to ask if she was alright. He knew it was going to be a sore subject, but he needed to know the details so he could put them in his book. He had been having such bad writers block, and he knew that if he only knew what happened in the school that night, it would add special, specific details that the story needed. He also wanted to know what happened to his girlfriend, he loved her and wanted to make sure she was alright, and wasn’t too traumatized. He was scared for her, and he was scared for the town. He turned the corner and started walking by Y/Ns apartment building, looking up to where her bedroom window was, and saw no one in there. She had beat him to Pops for sure.
He made it to the brightly lit diner and opened the front door, looking around. He saw Y/N staring right at him, and she gave him a smile. He could tell it was forced though, he knew her well enough to know when she was upset. He made his way over to the booth and she stood, walking towards him as well. Jughead opened his arms, and she flew into them, wrapping her arms around his neck and he wrapped his around her waist, picking her up and holding onto her as tightly as he could.
“I missed you.” She whispered, her voice muffled into his shoulder. “I love you.”
“I’ve missed you too, more than you could know.” He said, putting her down on her own two feet and releasing her only slightly. She leaned up and kissed him, and he gladly kissed back, her hand coming up and holding his face. They finally broke apart and took a seat on one side of the booth, his arm draping across her shoulders and she snuggled into him. He gave her shoulders a squeeze, and she squeaked out in pain, making Jughead quickly retract his hand and look worriedly down at her.
“Don’t worry about it.” She quickly said, looking up at the worried raven-haired boy.
“No, I hurt you-“
“it was an accident, my back is still a little sore from being used as make-shift whiteboard, that’s all.” She said, and he nodded slowly.
“Is it healing nicely?” he asked, and she turned, lifted her shirt to show only the bottom half of her back. Jughead saw the marks of the cuts, the stitching they had to do were now gone and it was healing on its own, scarring over in some places.
“I think I’m going to have the letters J.K permanently etched into my skin.” She half-heartedly joked, trying to make some light of her awful situation, but Jughead frowned, he could hear the hurt and sorrow behind her joke. She was going to forever be reminded of her traumatic experience because it was forever going to be a part of her back.
“I’m sorry Y/N, I really-“
“Don’t be, this is not your fault.” She quickly interrupted, and Jughead frowned even more.
“If only I had gone with you, I could have protected you or-“
“Jughead, this is not your fault, you couldn’t have done anything to protect me!” she snapped, and Jughead shut his mouth, silence falling in between them for a moment. “Juggie, if you try to protect me, you’re going to get hurt too. I can’t… I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if something happened to you, you have so much to live for.” She whispered.
“So do you.” He said quietly, and she shook her head.
“I’m as good as dead, he made it quite clear of that in the school that night.” She quickly said, tears starting to form in her eyes.
“What happened in there?” Jughead asked quietly, and she shook her head again. “Look, you don’t have to tell me, but you need to tell someone-“
“I tried, I told Sheriff Keller and he called me delusional and a liar.” She spat, but Jughead wasn’t giving up.
“I won’t though. I’m not a dick, at least not to you. I love you, Y/N, and I only want to help you, and it would help me, help you to know what happened in there.” He said softly, and she looked up at him, tears falling from her face now. She slowly nodded, and Jughead smiled softly, taking her hand in his and rubbing circles on her knuckles slowly.
____
“Let me go you ass!” Y/N sobbed, the door shutting behind her and a large figure stood before it. Y/N couldn’t help but cry, sure her life was complicated and kind of shitty, but she didn’t want to die. She had so much to live for, and now here she was, probably about to share the same fate Jason Blossom had come his way. “I swear to god if you don’t let me go, I’ll kick your fucking ass!” she spat, trying to stand. She wasn’t going to lie here and take it like a little bitch, she wanted to live and she was going to fight for it. The figure walked up to her and pushed her down, and she hit her head on a nearby desk, her head pounding. She heard as Betty banged on the door and yelled for her, but she couldn’t will herself to say anything, she just sat there and cried. The door opened again, and she saw the figure reach for Betty, but thankfully he didn’t catch hold of her. She heard running down the hall, and Betty calling for her, promising to send help and she watched as the figure ran after her.
The person who had pulled her into there had left the door open, and Y/N stood to get out, she needed to get out. It was the only way she was going to survive. She pulled herself up, her head spinning and she felt as adrenaline and pain flooded her body, she stumbled towards the door, opening it all the way, and she started running for another exit. She made her way to the stairs and started climbing it, hoping to find the science classroom with the fire escape. Halfway up the stairs, she heard heavy footsteps coming down the hall to where the classrooms she was pulled into was, and she realized they were going to see she wasn’t in there. She climbed faster, stumbling on stairs until she made it to the top, her adrenaline starting to numb the waves of pain shooting through her. She stood mostly straight, and started down the science wing, looking for the room that would free her from the possibility of death. She finally found it, bursting through the door and running towards the window. She struggled to open it, but when she finally did, she swung one leg out and got ready to put her other one out as well, until she was grabbed by the waist and pulled into the classroom.
“Let me go before I fucking hurt you!” she screamed, flailing around and the person dropped her, freeing her from his grasp. She ran over to where a scalpel was lying next to a dead frog, and grabbed the sharp knife, holding it up to her attacker. The large figure slowly approached her, and she held it up higher. “Don’t get any closer, or I swear to god I will-“ before she could finish her sentence, the figure jumped towards her, and she swung her arm, cutting the attacker with the knife and earning a loud grunt from the man. He quickly ripped the scalpel from her hands, and she went to run, but he caught hold of her shirt and yanked her back.
“Oh no you don’t, Clifford won’t like it if I let you go.” He growled, throwing her to the ground.
“Clifford Blossom?” she asked, trying to get back up. “Is that who killed Jason, his dad? What the fuck is wrong with that family!” she yelled, again making her way towards the door, this time successfully. She threw a desk behind her to slow her attacker down and flew down the flight of stairs, making her way to the exit where she guessed Betty had left. She was so close, but a yank of her shirt brought her back to the ground again. The man climbed on top of her, pinning her stomach down to the cold tile, lifting her shirt up on her back. She felt the cold metal of the scalpel against her skin, the sharp edge dragging ever so slightly.
“You’re going to give a message to those people out there, and then you’re next. Clifford will know soon you know too much, nothing will be able to save you after that. I’ll take some pity and let you say goodbye to those you love, but just know your precious life will soon be over.” He growled, digging the scalpel deeper into her skin, causing her to cry out.
____
Y/N shook with fear, the tears falling from her eyes and her voice cracking as she did her best to recall that night at the school to Jughead. She looked up and noticed the whole diner listening to story, people were looking sympathetically at her, others were looking skeptical. Jughead stood from the booth and pulled Y/N out as well, bring her into his side and protected her from the glares and stares of the Riverdale civilians. They walked out of the diner and she calmed herself down, the pain in her back stinging her slightly. They walked in silence for a few minutes, the only sound was the crunching of leaves under their feet and the occasional sniffle from Y/N.
“I-I can’t even imagine what you’re going through…” Jughead started, and she looked up at him. “That’s-that is an awful thing to go through, and I swear on my life I’m going to help you-“
“Juggie please don’t.” Y/N said, looking away from the boy, realizing she was in front of Archies house.
“I’m not kidding, and you can’t talk me out of this. I love you, Y/N, a lot. More than I know how to explain, more than I could even fathom someone loving another person, and there is no way in hell I’m letting anything else happen to you.” He said, practically pleading with Y/N to let him help. She looked back up at him, and tears were running down his face, and her heart broke.
“I can’t let you do that, you’re going to get killed if you help me! What am I supposed to do if you die, Jughead? I wouldn’t be able to live with myself knowing it was my fault, and I sure as hell wouldn’t be able to live without you. I love you too, more than anyone in this whole damned word could comprehend, and because of that I need you to know that I’m doing this on my own.” She argued, her hand reaching up to wipe the tears from his face, but Jughead quickly grabbed her hand, pulling her into him as his lips crashed with her own. His other hand flew around her waist, pulling her flush into his body, and she felt as his hand at her waist slowly moved lower. He started to walk, pushing Y/N backwards until her back hit the front door to the Andrews home, and he removed his hand from her lower back to open the door, causing her to stumble in, her lips never leaving his though.
While Y/N was a stumbling mess, Jughead stood tall and strong, his hand flying to her wrist and he pulled away from her. The door closed behind them as he pulled her upstairs to Archies room, checking to make sure he wasn’t in there before he pulled Y/N in. She closed the door behind her and turned to face Jughead, and he pushed her up against that door as well. “I’m protecting you, because I love you. This is not up for discussion, am I clear?” he asked lowly, and Y/Ns voice was caught in her throat. She nodded slowly, leaning up to kiss Jughead again, but he backed up slightly, pushing her back into the door. “Am I clear, yes or no.” he said, smirking down at her. “Use your words.”
“Y-yes. Very clear.” She stuttered out, and Jughead have a low chuckle.
“You promise not to argue about this later?” he asked, and she rolled her eyes, still out of breath.
“I can’t make any promises I can’t keep, I’m stubborn you know?” she teased, and he crashed his lips onto hers again. Her hand flew up to the nape of his neck, pulling on the raven curls that sat just below the edge of his beanie, which she quickly took off. Just before things got more heated, Y/N heard the front door downstairs slam, and she pushed Jughead off of her, straightening her hair before she turned to open the bedroom door. Just as it opened, she saw a very panicked Archie standing and out of breath.
“You-Your apartment!” he stuttered, and she looked at him confused.
“What about it?” she asked, worry starting to set in.
“It’s on fire!” he yelled, and Y/N didn’t waste any more time, flying down the stairs and out the front door, ignoring Jugheads yelling behind her. She ran all the way to her apartment building and froze as she saw flames spilling from her home.
She ran up the steps to her front door, ignoring the yelling of the fire department and the police who stood also observing. She opened the front door and watched as her living room burned, and she noticed the pictures on the walls that her and Archie were admiring just weeks before as they burned as well. She looked to the wall next to it and saw in red spray paint, ‘Next Time, You’ll Be The One Swallowed In Flames’ She went to go step in, but a pair of arms grabbed her by the waist and pulled her away from the deadly flames, and she heard screaming and crying but she couldn’t tell if it was coming from her, and all of life was moving in slow motion.
As she was being dragged down the stairs, she felt as if her life was burning away. Her new beginning was up in flames and was soon to be no more, and it crushed her, made her feel empty. All the pictures and memories she had saved in there, the whole new beginning she had built for herself was now ruined. For the rest of the night Y/N sat in front of her burning building and watched as all of her hard work and courage turned to ash, Jughead and the others by her side. She wasn’t going to be pushed over, not anymore, she wasn’t going to die without putting up a fight. They could take her home, but sure as hell they weren’t going to take her life, shit just got super personal.

Secrets- Riverdale X Reader Chapter 3- Body Double
Fandom: Riverdale
Warnings: none
notes: sorry for the clusterfuck of confusion on the uploading time of this. my editor was busy and then I had no wifi for 2 days and ughhh. anyways its here!
You were sitting on the couch sketching when your phone started binging like crazy, you set down your pencil and picked your phone up to see about 16 texts from Kevin. You unlocked your phone to check your texts but before you could even open the messages app Kevin's face filled your screen and his obnoxious custom set ringtone stopped you. With a sigh you hit the green 'answer' button.
"hey Kev wha-" You started but Kevin cut you off mid sentence.
"Holy crap (y/n) you will not believe* what just happened! where are you?"
"Home? I didn't feel like going to school...though, if anyone asks I'm grievously ill."
"Well you better recover ASAP, and get over here!" Without waiting for a response Kevin ended the call.
You put your sketchbook on the couch next to you with a dramatic sigh and stood up, throwing everything in a bag and tugging your shoes on as you stumbled out the door towards the school. You quickly covered the two blocks to Riverdale high, and when you got there pretty much all of your friends were waiting out front looking like they had seen a ghost.
"(Y/N)! FINALLY!" Kevin grabbed your arm and dragged you back towards the rest of the group. "While you were sitting around at home being a recluse- something I do not endorse by the way, we already have Jughead for that- Cheryl dropped probably one of the biggest bombs since July 4th! In bio she totally confessed!" Kevin looked like he was about to explode.
Betty stopped him before he could go into further detail. "All Cheryl said was that she was guilty, Kev, she didn't say of what." Kevin Rolled his eyes with a dramatic sigh, "Well theres not alot of other things it could be!"
You waved your hands signalling them to slow down, "Hold on, what happened exactly?"
"The Sheriff's department came into class, and Cheryl stood up and said they were here for her, because she was guilty." Veronica summed up for you.
"I-- wow. Really?" you were stunned. sure Cheryl was a mythic Bitch, but you didn't think she could kill Jason. Or anyone really.
Later that day you were all chatting in the student lounge.
"So are you a suspect now?" Veronica asked Kevin.
"My dad says we all are, including me."
"Not me girl. I don't know these people. neither does (y/n)."
You nodded silently and looked at the ground. You did, actually know these people but nobody needed to know that, and it didn't even matter you sure as hell weren't the one that killed Jason.
Kevin fiddled with a piece of licorice and looked at the rest of your group with a grin. "Guys, should we maybe rebinge making a murderer on netflix tonight?"
Betty laughed, "Sorry can't, gotta stay late to work on the paper."
"Count me out too. I've got a date tonight." Veronica added.
"You do?" Archie asked.
Kevin smiled, "Which Riverdale Hottie made the cut?"
Veronica tilted her head towards the door with a cryptic smile, towards one of the jocks "Hey V-Lo, I'll swing by the pembrooke to pick you up at 8?"
"I'll be waiting." she smiled at him.
"Cool." The boy grinned while putting on his jacket before walking out the door.
Betty and Kevin both had immediate reactions.
"Chuck clayton?" Betty looked extremely concerned.
"You're going on a date with chuck?!" Kevin looked weirdly excited.
"Wait whos Chuck Clayton? You wondered out loud.
The rest of the group semi-ignored you, opting to keep talking about Chuck. "He's kind of a player..." Betty leaned back into the couch.
"Who cares? hes the hottest of Hot! And he's the football coach's son. in Riverdale that's like dating a Kennedy!" Kevin was grinning.
Veronica smiled and raised her eyebrows mischievously. Betty sighed and stood up, "I have to go, I have a newspaper meeting." You shot up out of your seat and grabbed your bag. "Can I walk with you? I have something to ask you." Betty nodded and you both walked into the hallway.
"So I was wondering if you had any openings in the school paper. weatherbee is actually still on my case about extracurriculars. And I think it'd be really cool."
"Well since it's just me, I think we have room for you." Betty replied as you turned the corner to the old dusty newspaper offices.
"Wow these computers are ancient..." You laughed lightly, "I wonder if we could sell them on Ebay as antiques."
"I don't think anybody would buy these things." Jughead leaned against the doorframe, his lips turned up into a faint smirk.
He turned his attention to Betty."If print journalism is dead, what am I doing here?"
The Blue and Gold isn't dead, Juggy It's just dormant. but waking up." Betty swiped some of the dust off of one of the ancient monitors. "You're writing a novel right? About Jason Blossoms murder?"
Jughead picked up a magnifying glass. "I am. Riverdales very own In Cold Blood." He held up the magnifying glass and peered through.
"Which started out as a series of articles! I'm hoping you'll come write for the Blue and Gold." Betty grinned nervously, stretching her arms out like a magician after pulling off some amazing trick.
"I just don't think the school papers the right fit for my voice." Jughead said hesitantly.
"Truman Capote worked at the New Yorker for 2 years before he wrote in Cold Blood." You added. Betty and Jugheads gazes both snapped to you with questioning looks. "What? I know stuff and it's kind of relevant the new yorker is a newspaper." you muttered defensively. Betty shook her head and turned back to Jughead.
"Juggy, Jason's death changed Riverdale. People don't wanna admit that but it's true we all feel it." Betty walked closer to Jughead. "Nothing this bad* was ever supposed to happen here, but it did. I wanna know why."
Jughead glanced away his gaze softening. "Would I get complete freedom?"
"I’ll help and edit and suggest...but it's your story, it's your voice." Jughead looked less and less convinced with each word out of Betty's mouth.
Jughead rolled his eyes with a grin, "Doesn't sound* like complete freedom...But- I'm in."
Bettys face lit up and she clapped her hands together. "Okay great! um, in that case I have your first assignment. There's one person who was at the river on July 4th that no one's talking about."
"Dilton Doiley and his scouts."
"Exactly."
Jughead smirked and flicked his nose with his thumb as he turned to walk out. But Betty called after him. "(y/n)s coming with you Juggy!" You both stopped dead.
"Wait I am?"
"She is?"
"Yes, she is. (y/n) doesn't have a lot of journalism experience so...I thought you could show her the ropes." Betty explained, with an almost pleading smile.
Jughead rolled his eyes. "Fine. come on."
You grabbed your bag and walked out after him. "You know, I think Betty is just worried about you scaring the crap out of a bunch of 11 year olds."
Jughead rolled his eyes again, but there was that familiar spark of amusement. "Meet me at the adventure scout hall tomorrow. Don't be late."
"This is gonna be fun, Jones it'll be like Sherlock with a way prettier Watson!"
The next day you got to the field outside the adventure scouts building and he was standing near the kids all lined up while Dilton Doiley lectured them. You walked over and smiled in greeting. Jughead nodded, and held up a hand for you to be quiet. Dilton was lectureing his troops about dying, or something. You didn't really catch it.
Jughead approached him, "At ease Doily we're writing an article for the Blue and Gold, hoping you can help."
"Dismissed! but stay close." Dilton ordered the kids.
"Cheryl and Archie say they heard a gunshot July 4th, but they don't know who fired."
Dilton immediately got defensive, his posture shifted and his face hardened. "Sheriff Keller already asked me about this, like I told him, my scouts and I...we didn't hear anything weird."
You narrowed your eyes in suspicion, this kid was definitely hiding something.
Jughead took a step closer to Dilton, his eyes were filled with the same suspicion as yours,"Well, did you see anything weird?" his tone was a little more accusatory than it had been, it was clear Jughead believed Doily about as much as you did.
Dilton straightened his back and crossed his arms. he glared at jughead. "A white winged crossbill, A long eared owl...oh. And Cheryl, sitting by the river soaking wet."
Jugheads expression was hard and unreadable as he stared at Dilton. You grabbed Jugheads arm and dragged him away from the other boy. "C'mon we're not going to get anything more out of Doily. He's on the defensive now."
"That's alright. I have another lead."
Later that night you met Jughead at Pops. "I'm always up for food, but how is pops a lead?"
Jughead gave you a deadpan look, "It's not the diner it's what's inside, one of Doily’s scouts was looking at us like he wanted to say something, and we're gonna find out what."
"Or maybe he was checking you out?" you joked. Which earned you a fairly impressive bitch face from Jughead.
You walked through the door with Jughead a few steps ahead, the boy from earlier was in a booth chatting with someone, who you assumed was the kid's father. The dad got up and left the table and Jughead crouched on the empty booth seat while the kid was looking away Jughead grabbed the cherry off the kids sundae and ate it. You ran a hand through your hair, immediately regretting being there.
The kid dropped his spoon and threw up his hands as the metal utensil clattered on the table. "What the hell man." his face was full of confusion, and maybe a little fear.
"I saw the way you looked at me.-"
You rolled your eyes. "Cause that didn't sound creepy Jug." you muttered under your breath.
Jughead slid the kids sundae towards himself,"-during grizzly training. you're hiding something."
The kid leaned in, "It’s scoutmaster Doiley, he's lying."
"About what?" Jughead kept eating the scouts sundae, and watched the boy with a weird expression, a mix of curious and suspicious.
"The gunshot, It was him. He was teaching us how to shoot targets."
"Dilton Doiley shot the Gun on July 4th?"
"What the hell is with this town?" You blurted out.
"He's a hardcore survivalist. He says if we don't protect ourselves, no one will."
Jughead and you exchanged a look, this was big.
The day after your confrontation with sundae boy, you were sitting in the student lounge eating a muffin and reading the article on Chuck Claytons class A douchebag status being exposed. When your phone chimed with a text from Betty telling you to get to the Blue and Gold office ASAP.
You shoved your phone in your pocket and threw the rest of your muffin away before dashing out the door and down the hall to the Blue and Gold offices.
Betty and Jughead were waiting for you when you arrived but before you had a chance to greet them or ask what was wrong Dilton Doiley walked in.
"Have a seat Doiley." Jughead said, while kicking a chair towards the space in front of the desk. Dilton straightened it and sat down, facing the three of you. Jughead jerked his chin up at him as a signal to start speaking.
"If you publish a story saying I fired that gun, my life will be ruined. I’ll be banished from the adventure scouts and charged with a misdemeanor. So, what if I have a better story?"
Jughead glanced back at you and Betty and you both shrugged and shook your heads, none of you had any idea what Dilton had to offer.
"If I tell you what I know, promise me the gunshot stays between us."
Betty walked out from behind the desk and came to stand next to you and jughead. "You have our word. as journalists."
Dilton leaned towards the three of you and dropped his voice so if anybody had been listening there was no way they would hear it. "I saw something at Sweetwater river. Something nobody else saw--Ms. Grundy's car, by the rivers edge. She was there."
"Well. shit." You said quietly.
Dilton Doiley had just opened pandora's box

Hi, I've got your name on the box bingo card and saw that you have a umbrella academy ocs. Can you tell me more about them?
Hey! I would love to, I don't get to talk about them much anymore. So all the ones I have are in the same story and I really adore them all. More under the cut so this doesn't clog up anyone's feed!
So, first up, the one I created while watching with my friend for the first time, we have Joy Hargreeves aka Nr. 10 aka The Changeling. She has the power to take on the looks of any person she wants by instigating physical contact. Growing up, Reginald allowed Five to experiment on her (and Jill and Jinx) with his time travel powers because there's were considered inferior, and therefore they were "less useful anyway". One fateful day Five ends up sending away Joy, Jill, and Jinx into three different time zones. Before this Joy was very much similar to Luther in the regard of always wanting to prove herself to her father no matter what, only he would never give her the time of day. She spends a year alone in the 40s, trying to evade authorities and somehow survive. When she is sent back, it is as a baby and two years after Jinx and Jill. Suddenly she has to grow up alongside her siblings all over again, still trying to prove herself to a man who would never show affection. One who most likely couldn't. She began to abuse her powers, testing her limits while also secretly learning ballet and putting on performances for her mom. She met Aiden Calloway in the neighborhood and the two got together, which eventually resulted in Joy getting pregnant. When Reginald wants to do tests on the baby like he did with the kids, Jill helps Joy flee. Joy, Aiden, and Cooper live together happily for three years, then Cooper dies in an accident, Joy blames Aiden and things fall apart. She begins to dance professionally, never quite reaching the same fame as Vanya or Allison but famous in her circles. She only ever stays in contact with Jill, Jinx, and Klaus. When Reginald dies, Joy reluctantly returns home only to find out the world is ending. Joy is a perfectionist, intense sometimes, and artistic, she is also loving though and longs for a permanent family.
Jill aka Nr. 9 aka The Empath has the power of, well, empathy. Her powers were considered to be the least useful as they aren't offensive. She was sent back into the 50s for a year and returned a year after her brother Jinx. Jill has always been brasher than others. She doesn't sugarcoat anything and she will tell you off if you annoy her. She lives with Diego in the boxing gym and boxes in her free time whenever she isn't delivering pizzas. After moving out of the Academy she never truly looks back and she doesn't want to go to the funeral either. But Jinx drags her with him nontheless. Jill and Jinx are like Ying and Yang, they simply belong together no matter what and Jill is incredibly protective of Jinx. She is also fiercely loyal and yearns for more in life than just delivering pizzas.
Jinx aka Nr. 8 aka The Inferno is the oldest of the Three J's and his powers are considered the second "least useful" by Reginald as he can only generate lighter-like flames from his fingers at first. He is sent to live in the 60s for a year which was an incredibly hard time for him. After he returns he tries to find ways to get out of the Academy as quickly as possible but doesn't manage until he turns 18. Allison uses her powers to compel him a place at College and he studies to work with kids, meanwhile also working with youth outreach programs. He is bisexual and dating DJ (who is Dilton Doiley but my version crossing over from Riverdale). Jinx is sweet, kind, quiet, helpful, clumsy, and very fun to be around.
Aiden aka The Fang (a name he insisted on because he felt left out) grew up around the Academy and met Joy at a young age. He comes from a rich family and moves into a van shortly before graduation. He is generally pretty giving and only keeps enough of his allowance to support Joy and Cooper, donating the rest. He is incredibly sweet and loyal, the other Hargreeves siblings often calling him "The Golden Retriever". After Cooper's death, Aiden gives Joy the time she needs but never stops loving her. After Joy tries to resurrect Cooper and ends up accidentally killing Aiden instead, he is turned into a vampire and has to deal with his new situation.
Winter Lowery aka The Ice Queen was one of the special kids, only her family refused to give her away, even after seeking out Reginald's help. She isn't the smartest in school but she is incredibly kind. After graduation, she begins to work as a stripper under the name "Lacy Lovelace" where she meets her husband Jeffrey. Jeffrey turns out to be emotionally abusive and Winter, eventually having enough, divorces him and starts working for her father's P.I. firm as a secretary instead. She works there with him and her brother and sister. Winter is sweet, loving, loyal but also troubled due to bullying and knowing she is different than anyone else and can do nothing about it.
Rudolph is a centuries-old warlock who owns a potion shop where he sells fakes to humans and real ones to other witches and warlocks. He lives with his honorary son Valentino, also a vampire. Joy approaches him with the mission to resurrect her son, he refuses initially because he knows people aren't meant to be resurrected. But after listening to Joy's desperate pleas he gives in only to kill Aiden instead. When Valentino turns Aiden to try and make up for it, he and Rudolph have a falling-out that only starts mending when the two must try and find a way to help Aiden and save the world to boot. Rudolph is romantic, open-minded, loyal, mysterious, and somewhat of a recluse.

The manips are old but they introduce the characters well so far haha. There are a couple more (DJ, Benji and Misty who crossed over from Riverdale) and Jinx's birth brother and his best friend but the last two aren't properly developed. Thank you so much!

Aliases: Number 10, The Changeling
Faceclaim: Lili Reinhart
Age: 22
Species: Human
Powers: Glamouring, Shapeshifting
Status: Alive
Slight Summary: Joy was one of the 43 miracle babies born in 1989. She was dubbed Number 10 by her adoptive father Reginald Hargreeves. Always eager to please, Joy tried her best to do good in Reginald’s eyes but all of her efforts were for nothing. Her powers simply weren’t developing right, so Reginald tossed her aside along with other Three J’s. He would let Five experiment on Joy, Jill and Jinx. The Three J’s resented Five and would grow to hate him even more after he accidentally sent them back in time. Joy spent years stuck in the ‘60s until she was whisked back into her time, two years after Jinx and Jill. Suddenly, Joy is the baby of the family, her older siblings close to moving out of the house. Joy spent her days trying to perfect her power and secretly taking up dancing. Her adoptive mother Grace and the family’s butler Pogo loved to watch her do little routines. Joy grew to resent her father much like her siblings. After their brother Ben dies, the family is in shambles. All of her siblings move out or run away from home, leaving Joy behind to pick up the pieces. She meets local boy Aiden Calloway and the two start a relationship. That would eventually lead to her getting pregnant. Reginald tries to take her son from to conduct further experiments and find out whether or not he also has powers. Joy nips that in the bud and runs away from home at last. She lives with Aiden until their son dies in a tragic accident. Joy pulls away from Aiden, Jill and Jinx and decides that she won’t accept her sons death. She gets in touch with local warlock Rudolph Easton in hopes of finding a way to get her son back. Then, her father dies and Joy goes back for the funeral. Already enough of a bad day, suddenly her brother Five comes back from the future with troubling news.
Story: Free Falling

Real Name: Jillian Scarlet Hargreeves
Aliases: Number 9, The Empath
Faceclaim: Sarah Jeffery
Age: 23
Species: Human
Powers: Empathy, Resurrection
Status: Alive
Slight Summary: Jill was another one of the 43 miracle babies born in 1989. She was dubbed Number 9 by her adoptive father Reginald Hargreeves. Jill hated her father with a passion. In fact, she hated most of her family except for Jinx, Ben, Joy and Diego. She also had a soft side for Grace and Pogo. Jill was a rather blunt person. Her powers were mostly considered useless, so she was relegated to being Five’s lab rat. When he sent her back in time, she ended up spending a few years in the ‘50s all by herself at age twelve. She came back to the real world a year after Jinx. Both of them had returned as infants. Joy joined them a year later. Luckily, Reginald managed to speed up the Three J’s aging process, putting her at only seven years younger than her older siblings. She hated growing up as a Superhero, so she was more than glad to run away from home and start her own life. Unfortunately, College did not work out as she had hoped, so instead she took up a job delivering pizza and moved in with Diego in the back of the boxing studio. When she gets news of her fathers death, Jill can’t help but feel relieved. After the things she did to her and her siblings, especially Joy, she can’t bring herself to feel saddened. She opts out of going to the funeral but Jinx drags her along anyways. At the funeral, Five appears back at the house and brings catastrophical news with him.
Story: Free Falling

Real Name: Jinx Oscar Hargreeves
Aliases: Number 8, The Inferno
Faceclaim: Lamar Johnson
Age: 24
Species: Human
Powers: Fire Generating
Status: Alive
Slight Summary: Jinx was another one of the 43 miracle babies born in 1989. He was dubbed Number 8 by his adoptive father Reginald Hargreeves. As a child, Jinx’s powers were severly underdeveloped. Instead of helping him get control of his powers, Reginald shunned his son and let Five conduct experiments on him. Five accidentally sends Jinx to the ‘70s. Alone and afraid, Jinx had to learn how to survive on his own rather quick. He is the first to be sent back to his time and the first to be brought up closer to his by now older siblings’ age. Growing up, Ben and Jill were Jinx’s best friends. When Ben dies, Jinx has enough and flees from home. He goes to College, deciding that instead of trying to be the kind of Superhero that fights bad guys for his father, he wants to be another kind of Superhero. He studies to become a social worker and keeps steady contact with Jill. When he hears of his fathers passing, he isn’t saddened though he still goes to the funeral to pay his respects. But after going back home and hearing the news his brother Five springs on the family, he’d wish he’d have stayed away.

To escpae the situation and somehow come to terms with his son’s passing, Aiden buys a van and travels across America, giving Joy the space she needed. He comes home after finding out from Klaus that Joy is willing to ruin her life in order to bring their son back from the dead. Suddenly caught in the crossfire, Aiden dies. He innitially turned Joy away, too afraid to dabble with any more ressurrections. Though, she eventually won him over and he attempted a ritual. It backfired and instead Joy’s boyfriend Aiden dies. Winter grew up trying to suppress her powers but eventually she couldn’t do it anymore. Martin called Reginald to see if he could help but when Reginald wanted to buy Winter rather than help her, he threw him out and never contacted him again. Winter wasn’t very booksmart and didn’t make it into College. But she didn’t want to live at home and bother her parents anymore either. So after many attempts at finding a job, she turned to a stripper locale far from her parents home. She took on the stage name Lacy Lovelace and did her thing for a while. Through her job, she met her future husband Jeffrey. Winter didn’t want her parents to know what she did for a living, so instead she called herself Heather Smith and eloped with Jeffrey, never telling her parents about it. While not physically abusive, Jeffrey was emotionally and mentally abusive. In the end, Jinx would convice Winter to leave him. She returned home, head down low.
