Slipped Disc Treatment in Delhi
What is a slipped disc? If an intervertebral disc of your spinal column loses its usual form and/or consistency, it is referred to as a “slipped disc.” In order for the disc to change shape, its softcore substance bulges or leaks out of its outer fibrous covering. Herniated, ruptured, ripped, bulged, or projecting discs can all be referred to as slipped disc. This results in pain and discomfort. In cases when the disc slips and compresses a spinal nerve, numbness and pain can result. If you have a slipped disc, you may need surgery to remove or fix it. It is composed of a solid outer rim and a soft middle. Outer damage to the disc can allow its inner component to emerge through the disc, resulting in a defective disc. A slipped disc, herniated disc, or prolapsed disc is the medical term for this issue. This is a source of distress. In the event that a spinal nerve is compressed by a slipped disc, symptoms of numbness and discomfort might be felt along its route. A slipping disc may necessitate surgery in extremely rare cases.

Disc Herniation
What is
Disc herniation occurs when an intervertebral disc degenerates and deteriorates, causing the inner nucleus to leak into a weakened area on the outside of the disc.
The weak point in the outer nucleus of the intervertebral disc is directly below the spinal nerve root, so a herniation in this area can put direct pressure on nearby nerves or the spinal cord.
Therefore, herniated discs are sometimes a cause of radiculopathy, which encompasses any disease that affects the nerve roots of the spine.
Dr Ashu Consul, best orthopaedic in Dwarka, consultant at Venkateshwara Hospital, adds that, initially, herniated discs can be confused with the following pathologies: “piriformis syndrome, facet arthropathies, deep gluteal syndrome, peripheral neuropathies, muscle trigger points and, in more severe cases, tumors”.
Causes
The vertebrae of the spine are separated by discs that cushion movement and leave space between the vertebrae. In the same way, they allow their movement, which makes it possible to bend down or stretch out.
In addition, the vertebrae of the spine protect the spinal cord that comes from the brain and runs down the back to the lower back. The discs fulfill a very important function of cushioning and distribution of loads and any damage to them can be serious if not treated quickly.
The disc can move out of place, that is, herniate, or rupture due to injury or stress. This can cause excess pressure on the spinal nerves resulting in pain, numbness or weakness in the patient.
Normally, herniated discs are located in the lumbar region, with the second most affected area being the cervical discs (the neck).
Tumblr media
Symptoms
A cervical disc herniation can cause pain in the neck, which in turn can radiate to the arm, shoulder, or can cause numbness or tingling in the arm or hand. Sometimes the pain can be dull, constant, and difficult to locate.
In addition to this pain, the symptoms of herniated discs are the following:
The first sign that the patient has a herniated disc is pain in the arms     and neck. If numbness or tingling occurs it may indicate that the     problem is more serious.
Typically, the patient complains of sharp, cutting pain, and in some cases, there may be a prior history of episodes of localized pain, present in the back and radiating down the leg.
The episode of pain may come on suddenly or be heralded by a tearing or snapping sensation in the spine.
When the pain starts slowly, it can worsen after the patient spends a long time sitting, standing, at night, when sneezing, coughing or laughing.
Weakness is also a common symptom that affects the leg or arm and may require excessive effort to move them.
Usually, the numbness or weakness goes away over a period of several weeks or months.
Prevention
According to Orthopaedic in Dwarka, “exercising regularly and appropriately is important. Also avoiding leading a sedentary lifestyle, being overweight and smoking helps prevent this type of back pathology. Finally, avoid unnecessary risks such as lifting heavy objects, improperly bending or twisting the lower back, or sitting or standing in the same position for many hours and in an unergonomic way.
Types
There are three degrees:
Disc protrusion: when the nucleus pulposus has not yet come out of the annulus fibrosus, it is therefore weaker and gives way in its structure. This is the first stage of a herniated disc.
Disc herniation: the material of the nucleus pulposus is ejected from the limits of the annulus fibrosus.
Disc extrusion: the exit of the disc material is violent and breaks the posterior common vertebral ligament, leaving free fragments in the vertebral canal.
Diagnosis
To diagnose a herniated disc, the orthopaedic doctor in Delhi will carry out a medical examination of the spine, arms and lower extremities. Depending on the region where the patient's symptoms are located, the orthopaedic in Delhi will look for possible numbness or loss of sensitivity.
In addition, he will test your muscle reflexes, which may have been affected and slowed down or even disappeared. He will also study the patient's muscle strength and the shape of the curvature of the spine.
On the other hand, the patient may also be asked to sit, stand or walk, bend forward, backward or sideways and move the neck, shoulders or hands.
Diagnostic tests that can verify the existence of a herniated disc are:
An electromyography that will determine which nerve root is affected and where it is compressed.
A myelography to specify the size and location of the hernia.
An MRI that will show if there is pressure on the spinal cord.
Finally, an X- ray of the spine may also be performed to rule out other injuries that cause cervical or back pain.
Treatments
The first treatment given to patients with this condition is short rest and pain medication, followed by a period of physiotherapy session with physiotherapist in Dwarka. In most cases, almost immediate recovery occurs, but in other cases medication or injections may be required.
In the case of corticosteroids, they are usually administered, above all, non-steroidal anti -inflammatory drugs to control pain and also muscle relaxants.
Injections into the area of your back where the herniated disc is located can help control pain for a few months. In addition, these injections greatly reduce the swelling of the disc.
The last option is microdiscectomy, considered as the surgery that is used to relieve pressure on the nerve root and allow the nerve to recover more effectively. This type of intervention does not entail great difficulty, since it is usually enough with a small incision and one night of admission.
Regarding the therapeutic approach to herniated discs, Orthopaedic in West Delhi states that "one of the most important advances has occurred in the increased precision of diagnostic tools, which has made treatment much more effective and specific, both in management conservative as in the surgical. From the surgical point of view, the trend is towards minimally invasive, what we commonly know as microsurgery, so that the tissues suffer the least negative impact after the surgical intervention”.
At what age do herniated discs usually appear?
“Disc herniation can appear at any age, since its causes are multifactorial. Although, it begins to be more frequent in the range of 30 to 50 years of age. And they are more prevalent after the age of 50, where it is estimated that more than 80% of the population begins to show disc degeneration”, says orthopedic in Delhi.

New Breakthrough in Degenerative Disc Disease Treatment
Tumblr media
There are many myths surrounding spine injuries. People often wonder why there is so much misinformation on the internet. For example, people tend to believe that ‘back injury’ and ‘spine surgery’ is synonymous with ‘pain’. It doesn’t matter how much money you spend on supplements, treatments or procedures. If you don’t take good care of your body, then no amount of medicine will ever be able to heal you.
If you want the best chance of avoiding pain and suffering from degenerative disc disease, then you need to know exactly what causes this type of damage. The answer to that question is simple; your discs begin to degrade because of a lack of nutrition in your body.
Introduction: A New, Breakthrough Treatment for Degenerative Disc Disease Is Being Researched and Developed.
There are two main types of discs in your spine: 1. intervertebral discs and 2. nucleus pulposus. These discs act like shock absorbers between your bones. They allow you to move easily and protect the nerves that travel along the spinal cord. When they become worn out, the symptoms you experience are called “degenerative disc disease”. The most common symptom is back pain which may be accompanied by weakness in the legs.
The good news is, research into a new way of curing this condition has just begun. It involves injecting stem cells directly into the patient’s body which will help them regenerate their own damaged discs. This new method has already proven successful in animals and more tests are currently under way to see if it can work for humans too.
What Is Degenerative Disc Disease?
Tumblr media
Degenerative disc disease (DDD) is a condition that affects people of all ages and backgrounds. However, it’s most common among older adults. DDD occurs when the cartilage that protects the discs that cushion bones in your spine becomes thinner and begins to wear down.
This causes the spaces between the discs to narrow which can result in painful symptoms. The narrowing of the space can also put pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, tendons, ligaments, organs and bone structures of the body.
The New Treatment:
Osteoarthritis is a chronic condition that affects many people around the world. It’s caused by wearing down of cartilage, which allows bones to rub against each other. There are several types of OA and they vary in severity and symptoms. People who suffer from this disease usually experience pain and stiffness in their joints.
There is no cure for arthritis, but there are ways of managing it. Medications such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, aspirin, naproxen, and celecoxib are used to treat the painful symptoms associated with this condition. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can also be effective in relieving inflammation, swelling, and redness.
However, while these medicines may help to ease the pain, they do not eliminate the underlying problem.
How the New Treatment Works:
It is estimated that globally, there are currently around 33 million people living with HIV. Although antiretroviral drugs have helped to reduce deaths among those affected by this disease, there are still problems with drug resistance. In addition, some patients don't feel well when taking medication and so they stop taking it. To combat this problem, researchers are looking for ways to produce treatments without the need for a prescription.
A team led by David Baker, PhD, professor of chemistry, biochemistry and chemical biology, used a computer-based model to generate a 3D structure of two molecules: CD147, which is naturally produced by cells infected with HIV, and cyclosporin A (CsA). Both molecules bind together to form a complex.
Potential Side Effects of the New Treatment:
Tumblr media
Breast Cancer is a disease that affects millions of people every year. It’s estimated that there were over 2.09 million cases in 2018 alone and around 40% of them had positive lymph nodes.
There are several treatments available today, but some are better than others. One of the latest is called Neoadjuvant Therapy. It was developed to improve patient survival. A lot of research has gone into developing this kind of therapy because a large percentage of patients who receive chemotherapy die from it.
This drug can also be used if you already have cancer, so that the size of your tumour can be reduced before surgery. The drug is made up of three parts: capecitabine, epirubicin and cyclophosphamide. This combination will reduce the size of the tumor by 50%, making it easier to remove during surgery.
Who Is Likely to Benefit From the New Treatment?
The future of gene therapy looks bright thanks to a number of developments in recent years. The main goal behind this kind of treatment is to replace faulty genes with healthy ones. In fact, some scientists believe that this type of therapy has the potential to cure genetic diseases.
In order to understand exactly why gene therapy is so promising, you need to look at how genes work. Genes are small molecules found in every cell. They help cells to grow and function properly. If there is a problem with a specific gene, then that gene will not perform its job correctly. This means that the affected organ or tissue won’t be able to do what it needs to do.
This is where gene therapy comes into play. Gene therapy works by replacing defective genes with normal ones.

Sciatica Pain and Back Pain Treatment In Delhi, slipped disc treatment in delhi | removemypain
Back Pain (Slipped disc) and Sciatica
In simple words, low back pain can be defined as pain experienced in the bottom region of spine (between lower margins of ribs and the gluteal folds). It may remain localised to back or radiate to the legs.
Sciatica is a term used for pain radiating down from the lower spine to the legs. Most common cause of sciatica is irritation or compression of the nerves as they exit the spine on their way to the legs. It may be accompanied by numbness, tingling and weakness in the distribution of the affected nerve.
Globally low back pain (LBP) is one of the leading causes of disability. LBP is an important cause of limitation of activities, absence from work with resultant economic implications. In industrialised countries lifetime prevalence of non-specific low back pain is estimated at 60–70%.Despite the high incidence and intensive research into this area, pain generators are not easy to identify and the diagnosis Nonspecific Low Back Pain is used commonly. This is different from situations where a specific cause such as fracture, infection, neoplasm etc. responsible for pain generation can be identified.

Shoulder pain may be an isolated problem localised to the shoulder or be a part of widespread pain as in rheumatoid arthritis. A combination of history, examination and diagnostic investigations is utilised to identify the pathology and guide further management. Diagnostic ultrasound scan is an effective bedside tool as it can reliably identify common shoulder pathologies and reduce the requirement of additional investigations. I routinely perform ultrasound scans at the time of initial assessment. This reduces the requirement of additional investigations and if required a guided injection can be performed at the same time.
