Display

The display should be visible under sunlight, but what type of display is capable of that?

Well, after about half an hour of google, i’ve concluded i have no clue what’s the most sunlight readable display. I could not find quick and easy documentation about what is better.

But i have concluded that LCD works under sunlight and requires backlight in the dark. Less glare on display means brighter. Contrast makes it easier to decern the text.

So, an LCD screen that is big enough, has excellent contrast, and has anti-glare.

So there is the choice of segment and Full-area 2-dimensional displays.

For a first try, a segment display is probably easier, less software is needed, but the full-area display allows for much more hijinks.

Size

So, dragonboat’s about 12m long, so a text height of 17mm would work

so, simply, yellow and black, blue on white.  also it should probably be a different colour than the case

Probably using phone screen protectors cut to size would be enough
