the vibe i get from simm master is that he just genuinely does not get that he’s in love with the doctor and he thinks that the only emotion he feels is Bite and Kill (while he is obsessing over everything the doctor says and does, and also literally never killing him despite being given multiple opportunities to do just that). meanwhile ten knows that they’re in love and because of this is completely okay with overlooking the 170 thousand war crimes the master has committed bc to him the master falls in the very binary category of “worth loving” and his idiot time lord math is essentially “if i love someone i can totally fix them because i’m just that powerful :) problem solved.” which in the end just has me like

what exactly am i counting as "straightbait" you ask?

seeing as straightbait is not an actual thing, i'm going to necessarily be loose about what does and doesn't count. it's up to you whether something counts enough to submit, but if you're unsure, just submit it anyway and i'll make my own call. couples who seem at first to be straightmarriage endgame but are revealed to be queer or otherwise don't get together, couples whose romance is teased but never or only-after-a-fucking-ordeal confirmed as such, m/f pairs who have some kind of weird fucking thing going on that is never explicitly named platonic or romantic, buried straights, straights who for whatever reason have a relationship trajectory that feels queercoded in some way, all of those and more count.

while canon couples are allowed, i may draw the line at couples like jim and pam from the office where there is a will-they-won't-they element, but the romance gets a lot of screen time devoted to it and is very explicitly romantic. jim/pam follows a very tried and true fictional straightcouple relationship trajectory and is very canon from the outset. individually, these traits might still be allowed, but many at once probably means it's a no go. i'm looking for ambiguity and uncertainty of the sort that is atypical for (canonically/ambiguously) straight characters, or those who seem to be at first
