just thinking about how totally leftists opinions shifted from 2020 to 2023/2024 like

"a person of color being a bad person doesn't mean they deserve to face racism" >> "bad jews deserve what they get"

"black lives matter" >> "slavery is okay if the houthis do it"

"the US government is bad but people arent usually represented by their governments, most of us didnt vote for trump anyway" >> "all israelis are evil because of netanyahu's actions"

"if one nazi sits down at a table of 9 normal people, there are 10 nazis" >> *allowing swastikas and HH salutes at protests*

"silence is violence" >> "it isnt my job to talk about antisemitism"

"racial minorities shouldnt have to try to pass as white, 'white passing' privilege is complicated and should be treated as such" >> "jews are white and i wont entertain any other possibility, historical or otherwise"

"let minorities define their own bigotry" >> "jews dont know what real antisemitism is and theyre exaggerating anyway"

It took about 30 hours over the course of nine months, and I learned about four new painting techniques for this, and it was all so worth it to finally bring the Gallifrey in my head to something tangible.

I’ll never understand why anthropomorphic animal cartoons like Robin Hood and Zootopia will go to the trouble of creating character designs that are meant to be understood as “attractive” or even “sexy” to the human audience but explicitly avoid showing interspecies romances between anthropomorphic animals. Why is THAT weird but, like, trying to make rabbits recognizably sexy-coded to humans isn’t?

There’s no world in which I’d ever be able to hear a song literally called “My Best Enemy” and not apply it immediately to Thoschei (aka the OG Best Enemies). Bonus points for one of the singers being Belgian (Stromae) and literally one of my fave artists since I was 9 years old.

This art piece is called "The Game": In a world where the Master accepted the Doctor's offer of traveling the stars, a quiet game of chess is a much more enjoyable battle of wits than fighting across the cosmos (and a much less destructive avenue of flirting with one’s best enemy, much to the Universe's relief). It’s almost a year old at this point but why would I not use every chance I get to show off something that took over 30 hours of work?

the thing about an episode about the doctor & master regenerating in the same room and they don’t know who is who, is that they would obviously have to get it wrong so that at the end it’s revealed that they thought they were the opposite person. and that’s just crazy because you’d have to be so incredibly similar to confuse another’s identity with your own. and i think that both of them would be horrified to be confronted with the fact that they have just enough kindness or just enough cruelty to get their identities wrong

So the other night during D&D, I had the sudden thoughts that:

1) Binary files are 1s and 0s

2) Knitting has knit stitches and purl stitches

You could represent binary data in knitting, as a pattern of knits and purls…

You can knit Doom.

However, after crunching some more numbers:

The compressed Doom installer binary is 2.93 MB. Assuming you are using sock weight yarn, with 7 stitches per inch, results in knitted doom being…

3322 square feet

Factoring it out…302 people, each knitting a relatively reasonable 11 square feet, could knit Doom.

It just occurred to me today that First Contact occurs in 2063, which is also the year of Doctor Who's 100th Anniversary.

So, we're gonna have a big ass geek fest that year, right?

Can we all promise to be there? To not give up. Because we have a big freaking party to look forward to.
