What If the Hokey Pokey is What's All About?

It's one of those days when I am super tired because of a Thanksgiving Break hangover and my mind is running a hundred miles a minute. What better place is there to get out all of these thoughts out then to write them on my blog. I am glad we are all in agreement on this one.

I have decided that I sometimes worry about saying what I want to say because of how people might look at it, but I didn't start this blog in hopes of being liked or pleasing other people, but I did this for me. I truly am so appreciative of all the support I get, don't get me wrong. It's been so motivational, but at the end of the day accountability and honesty is why I started this.

I have to be honest, guys have body image issues too. You ladies aren't as special as you be thinking you are. I have an ideal image in my head of what I would like to look like. It is some culmination of some media ideal unattainable image I am sure. Yet this is what I strive for. It's kind of foolish, and I know it is, but I still do it.

Why do I keep asking people that I perceive to have an ideal body what they eat? I just keep hoping they that get to eat crap and be this magnificent looking athletic wonder of a man and I can follow suit. I keep hoping this will be the case. When I see athletic people chowing down at the pancake house I think, well they can do it, surely I can as well. I assume this is a regular everyday meal for them. I surely don't think that maybe this is a special occasion of some sorts. Why can't I just accept that being healthy and fit is gonna mean eating healthy and watching portions?

How lucky am I to live in a time that I have to sit around and ponder about how hard it is to resist all these kinds of scrum diddly scrumptious foods. So glad that I don't have to worry about being hungry or searching for my next meal. So glad to have to this first world problem of mine.

I want my body to be able to perform all the things I have ever dreamed it possibly could. I am already amazed at what it is doing and so excited for what it is about to throw down in the coming days, months and years. I am inspired daily by so many people here. Your determination and will power motivates me to pull deep when I would rather just revert to the days of the path of least resistance. I know now that the saying "I took the path least traveled and that made all the difference." is a true statement!

I am happier then I have ever been and I have to chalk it up to a major change in thinking and a major change in lifestyle. I think we can all think back to our heaviest days and think that coincides with some of our most miserable days, am I right? So this journey is totally worth it, absolutely no question. Yet it is a journey with destinations to enjoy along the way, but this journey never has an end point.

And finally why must eating the side of things be so hard. I love food. Sure I have moments of emotional eating, you betcha, but honestly I just mostly love the tastes! It tastes good, it makes the little endorphins in my head sing all kinds of happy songs. I'm pretty sure that's how The Sound of Music gets into my head. OK, END RANT!
