People loooove to take that quote out of context because in terms of society / activism "the systems arent the issue its the people that abuse those systems" is pretty bad but it literally didnt mean that! She is literally talking about a computer system!

Technology is rarely good or evil its entirely up to how people use it. Kerblam, now more than ever, is becoming more and more relevant. To bring up everyones favorite topic, AI has the possibility of revolutionizing our society in the best way and instead of taking over hard, dangerous or repetitive work, it takes over the creative work. That doesn't mean AI is evil, it means the people in power have decided theyd rather have human workers in low paid positions rather than giving them the creative, more difficult and higher paid jobs.

Kerblam does have its issues but people overlook this super relevsnt main point so much! Systems refers to technology!

oh my god this is years late but everyones perception of kerblam is literally wrong??? when the doctor said the "system" wasn't wrong, she meant automation? not the company? like the concept of automation isn't inherently wrong (there is a good point for making dangerous and menial tasks automated) and it wasn't trying to hurt people. And when she said the people exploiting the system were wrong she meant people exploiting automation (including charlie, who was using it to kill people so the system would take the fall. the doctor even points out he isnt an acitivst, he's just killing people). the metaphor is a bit fumbly. but it was never pro company/amazon?? the episode ends with a focus on the company being people led. man, i dont think ill ever not get annoyed with the way people bring this episode up to make series 11 look bad.

do any of u ever think about what the turtles educational situation is? like we know splinter teaches them ninja stuff but we never see him teach them math and science. like who else could teach them he would have no choice right? i can just imagine him confidently helping 1 of his sons with a math problem and then getting it wrong and being like "wait no that cant be the book must be wrong"

gonna be a bitch for a second but "ohhh they're FINALLY teaching usamerican kids metric" 1. they've been teaching metric units in usamerican schools for decades because 2. they are the established common units of science that ALL equations are built around because 3. they're technically not metric units, they're SI (système international) which is the modern standardized form of metric and many units were redefined around standardizations that would allow for their use in these equations (for example, redefining a meter around the distance traveled by light in a set amount of time, or using kelvin rather than celsius). like yeah yeah it's funny to laugh at the usamericans using their weird measurements but if you're gonna act all high and mighty at least know your history

Okay so I put this in tags but I need to say this in a reblog. This is a perfectly sensible way to write this for any math class above, like, middle school math. I won't argue with the last two sentences but if you're going into anything even remotely STEM-related, pemdas is the most basic thing to know. And i understand plenty of people don't use it day-to-day but please don't say "no sensible person" because that's just not true.
