ASL Witch AU

Behold. My cuntiest AU to date.

I got so caught up with how beautiful Sabo is in this au I just couldnt stop drawing him. His nose... his hair......... his jawline...........

but yeah so i drew so many sabo that i figured i should just make this a post for his birthday even though it did not start that way. sorry ace, all you get is a design in this au uwu

some more lore stuff:

Everyone uses magic in this AU world, but not everyone can use the magic that devil fruit users possess. While normal people can make a sigil by writing on a paper or drawing in dirt, devil fruit users are gifted with the sigils on their bodies, so they dont have to keep making the sigils whenever they want to use a power. You can also carve sigils into objects like swords or firearms to make them more powerful.

the cracks in sabo's face and hands are corruption, something that others can inflict on you or you can inflict upon yourself by using dark magic. lots of people use dark magic as it is Very Effective in killing people quickly, but usually we see people with arms completely covered in black corruption from it. The celestial dragons who gave him the scar cant use black magic, themselves, but their guns are made extra lethal by having them engraved with the dark magic runes.

In Sabo's case he does use it but only when completely necessary. he wears gloves for tactical reasons but mostly just to cover them up.

Those who are devil fruit users typically dont use dark magic but if they do, theyre real assholes.

This AU is canon compliant, so sorry, Ace does pass away. oopsie~~~ oops~ whups~~~~~~~ ;P

King of Spider Miles

I was going for 'postcard that the Donquixote Family very generously sends to potential business partners in the shitty little town they chose to reside in, so the people will know what their ruler / local mafia boss pirate looks like'

Nah but, I fell for a fictional town that gets almost no screen time at all. I just love that Doflamingo picked a literal garbage dump as his base of operations, sticking his Family into this fortress-looking waste processing plant, allegedly taking in like 100 hopeful but ultimately useless kids as mobster pirate apprentices and then losing all of them because his weirdo brother beat them and threw them in the trash until they ran off crying. What an era.

The landscape of scrap heaps, smoke stacks, industrial brick buildings and the name all speak to my imagination. It's like, Machinarium and Peaky Blinders meets Law's Little Nightmares-esque experience of being a tiny kid in a big hat amongst HUGE monster men. Just very into the Spider Miles vibes and the potential of that place aesthetically.

I also want to know if Doflamingo could use the constant chimney smoke and smog to create sky paths. Just create spiderwebs in the sky all over town and take a little walk.

I was thinking to myself you know a lot of the time Law is like. Super bundled up. In fluffy coats or hoodies or sweatshirts or whatever else, probably partly due to growing up in the North Blue. But then I was like. Okay if that's his normal wardrobe why did he walk around Dressrosa in just a coat and no shirt...and then it hit me. The coat obviously had Cora's name on the back but Law had his shirt off to show off his front. HIS TATTOO. DEDICATED TO CORA. This is the first time we see him without a shirt and get to see that tattoo on full display. Homie really went into this like I'm going to make it so blatantly clear to Doflamingo that Cora is everything to me and that I'm doing this FOR CORA that no matter where he looks that reminder will be staring him right in the face. FRONT OR BACK IT'S ALL CORAZON. I'M WALKING INTO THE OCEAN
