gosh this is SUPER OLD, like i think this is the first tma comic i ever made but it's still cute imo........jon fell aseep holding tea 🥺🥺🥺 i think i also based this off the fact my wife has a collection of pictures on their phone where im asleep because "you look cute when you sleep" LAWL

[Start ID: Four panel comic of Jon and Martin from the Magnus Archives. Jon is a Persian man with dark, curly hair and a beard, he is wearing a yellow sweater. Martin is a mixed Polish/Korean man with dark wavy hair and glasses and a beauty mark on his left chin.

What a horrible thing to find out. Martin Blackwood, a man who spent his whole life trying to be good enough, trying to be worthy of appreciation, is beloved by a force of voyeuristic terror.

It feels good, right? To be appreciated. Even if it's by something that would eat you up whole for a sliver of fear. To be appreciated by something that's killing the world-it's special, and gut wrenchingly awful.

To find out that in your pursuit of an honest life you've become something that something so evil could be fond of, could want to keep around; that's a shock, and to find out that your very existence in its favour is supporting the torture and inprisonment of innocent people? Also not great.

Martin, someone so sweet, so committed to his partner, fighting to save the world, to help people as he always tried to do, ended up admired by the Web, a key follower of the lonely, and under the fondness of the eye.

Is all this worthy punishment for seeking out an honest life through the path of deception?

Martin was watering the plants upstairs when the sound of a chair tumbling to the floor along with a certain person made it to his ear, accompanied with a curse and the sound of breaking glass.

Martin swiftly ran down the stairs with a fast beating heart.

"Jon?! Are you hurt?!"

"No, I'm--" Jon groaned as Martin entered the kitchen and witnessed the mess of spices on the floor. Jon was sprawled in the center of it, massaging his shoulder. "Goddamn rickety chairs."

"Are you sure you're okay?" Martin frowned, kneeling next to him and grabbing gentle hold of his shoulders.

"Yes." Jon looked away almost sheepishly, a hint of a blush coloring his cheeks. "Apologies for the mess."

Only then did Martin look around to take in the actual scene around him.

"Is that cinnamon?" He looked at Jon quizzically, noticing the smell surrounding them. With a quick look at the counter he spotted a few other spices, black tea and a carton of milk. An idea of what Jon might have been doing entered his mind, and he felt a bit of a blush on his own face. "What were you doing?"

"See, I remember you talking how much you'd like to try masala chai," Jon shrugged slightly. "I vaguely remember how my grandmother made it, I was... attempting to replicate that. But, uh. We ran out of cinnamon."

"And the supply was on the high shelf, yeah," Martin laughed with a bit of wonder. "You could've asked for help, you know."

Jon rolled his eyes and looked at him. "I wanted it to be a surprise."

Martin smiled fondly and shook his head slightly. "I love you."

Jon chuckled and grabbed Martin's hand. "Love you too. Let me clean this mess up."

"Am I allowed to help?" Martin asked innocently.

"Yes, you are." Jon exhaled through his nose. "I need another cinnamon packet from that shelf after all."

DOMESTIC JONMARTIN HEADCANONS!!!

Martin is ABSOLUTELY the pickiest person when it comes to mugs. He’s got so many of them, but if his are dirty, he will not touch any of the ones that belong to Jon. He would rather drink tea out of a literal bowl before he would drink out of the mugs he has determined are Jon’s.

Jon has about 40 crossword books. He buys one every single time he sees it in a shop. Most of them are not complete, but he is so god damn determined to get through every single puzzle.

Martin is a curl up in bed kind of person, Jon is a starfish kind of person. They both end up cuddled in the most uncomfortable looking positions. Jon frequently accidentally kicks the blanket off the bed, and Martin HATES it.

Jon asks Martin to cut his hair for him rather than going to a barber. Martin is terrified every time, but will do it. Jon just loves having Martin touch his hair. He’s like a damn cat.

Martin CANNOT clean without music on. Jon always takes this as an opportunity to sing his little heart out on cleaning days. He mostly does it to make Martin laugh. Jon singing Dancing Queen at the top of his lungs while Martin tries to clean the kitchen.

Jon INSISTS on giving Martin a kiss before one of them leaves the house. If Martin is across the house about to leave, Jon will SPRINT to kiss him before he’s gone.

Martin falls asleep during their movie nights (every time) but insists he’s not tired.

Jon does that dad thing, where he stands behind the couch watching whatever film Martin has on, but acts like he’s not watching. He stands there for like 40 minutes because he gets invested.

Martin knows EVERY person who works at the book store close to their house. He will gladly chat with any of them for 30+ minutes while Jon stands like a bored child. Jon claims he remembers them when Martin brings one of them up. He doesn’t.

Martin stress bakes. Like so fucking much. Whenever Martin is having a rough time and hasn’t slept much, Jon will wake up to like 4 batches of cookies on the counter.

Jon will read his books out loud for Martin. Martin never asks for this, but Jon likes involving Martin. It always ends with Martins head in Jon’s lap, listening to him talk.

How many works do you have on Ao3? 4

What's your total Ao3 word count? 13,296

What fandoms do you write for? i used to write for the Hermitcraft fandom, but i've discontinued the one fic i started for it and moved on to The Magnus Archives. i've got a couple story ideas for other fandoms, but idk if they'll go anywhere.

What are your top five fics by kudos? well, i've only got four! but from most- to least-kudosed, there's: - Double Trouble (Hermitcraft, rated G, incomplete multichapter) - Know What Can't Be Shown, Feel What Can't Be Known (TMA, rated T, oneshot) - Time Enough to Spend Some Time Alone (TMA, rated T, oneshot) - Here, Nowhere, Somewhere With You (TMA, rated G, oneshot) and i'm totally not salty my two most kudosed fics are an incomplete work and something i posted at 3am, respectively.

Do you respond to comments? hell yeah! i love answering comments <3

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? gotta say Time Enough, bc it's more refined than its predecessor, Know What Can't Be Shown (man i really need to stop giving my fics such long titles, i always end up shortening them when referring to them). but for reference, both are pre-Unknowing jmart kiss fics; it's a favored headcanon of mine. Time Enough also spends more time musing on how Jon and Martin are feeling—that is, they feel Bad. Absolutely Terrible. sad and scared, both for the Unknowing and for each other.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Here, Nowhere, Somewhere, absolutely. the ending itself is pretty open, but Jon and Martin have reunited post-MAG 200, admitted they still love each other after its events, and found themselves Somewhere Else. it's the most hopeful.

Do you get hate on fics? not yet, thankfully. i'm not a well-known enough author for that lol.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? i do not! and i doubt i ever will. props to everyone who does, though.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? i don't really write crossovers, at least none i ever planned to publish, but i do have a couple fusion AUs in the works (that is, taking one story's premise and combining it w/the characters of another). and funnily enough, both are based on songs.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? i sure hope not.

Have you ever had a fic translated? no. though if someone offered to, i'd be honored!

Have you ever co-written a fic before? technically? a friend of mine and i made a couple AUs for a few different MCYT fandoms that never really went anywhere, but i've never co-authored something that's made it to publishing.

What's your all time favorite ship? probably jonmartin. i've read a ridiculous amount of fanfic for them, and i think pretty much all my WIPs feature it if both Jon and Martin are there (sometimes i'll make them queerplatonic, and sometimes they'll be part of a poly ship like jongerrymartin, but jmart tends to be pretty Do Not Separate in my mind lmao).

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? ages ago i was reading this one rom-com webcomic where two people wound up as roommates bc the landlord accidentally rented the single apartment to both of them, which i thought was a really cute premise, but then BAM there was some really awful transphobia in it. when called out in the comments, the author doubled down, so i snatched up the concept and decided "i'm gonna make this t4t out of SPITE." but uh i've found spite doesn't work very well as a fuel source for my work, and i can get the same awkward domesticity/mutual pining out of a safehouse fic, so it'll probably just stay buried in the WIPs folder.

What are your writing strengths? dialogue. or at least, making a character's dialogue sound like their voice. vocabulary, things like stammering or using filler words, cutting oneself off or pausing a bunch, that sort of thing. though sometimes the dialogue itself feels a little clunky. i also think i'm rather good at writing emotional scenes, especially once i'm in the editing stage of things.

What are your writing weaknesses? over-editing. my utter beloathed. i sometimes get really caught up in trying to make everything as clear as possible, when that just makes the work 5,000 words too long and takes way more time to do. i'm trying to be better about it.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i think it's neat! but if you're monolingual you should read up on writing bilingual/multilingual characters beforehand, don't just wing it.

First fandom you wrote for? probably Pokémon? i'm not entirely sure.

Favorite fic you've written? Time Enough, hands-down. (though uh, hypothetically, if i wanted to make some small edits to it, would it be weird to do so? especially seven months after posting? there's a handful of lines i wish i'd phrased a bit differently.)

I would like to address all TMA fan theories about TMA2, from least to most likely

“It’s just hype for some bonus content”: they gave us that for free, zero work involved on our part, for like six months after it ended. “But this one would be cannon.” It really seems like a lot of work for so little payoff. Just saying, seems unlikely.

“JonMartin being happy Somewhere Else”: Jonny Sims is in fact involved, and untainted happiness is something rarely found in his writing. Prove me wrong @jonnywaistcoat I dare you. Bet you can’t write JonMartin being happy and domestic with a kid and a cat and also going on nice walks and having good dreams and no nightmares.

“A prequel series following Gertrude”: Maybe. However, we got almost everything from the og series. The only things explicitly unexplored have to do with Agnes, which is fairly intentional, and Jonny has said in the past he intentionally leaves things up for interpretation and I don’t think he’ll go back on that. I think the only character that we might be able to get him to squeeze more out of is Gerry, because I feel in my bones that he’s one of Jonny’s favorites.

“Every episode again but with key differences”: Tasty and a good idea, kind of out there though and if @iwannarunawayandbeapirate got that one right I’m impressed, their take is various parallel universes, as they’re the only one I’ve seen. I’ve also seen “alternate universe” where we start again but canon divergence happens, which is also good but a bit fanfiction-y. To both of these I brand Unlikely.

“JonMartin somewhere else but facing down the fears again”: Possible. Our boys legit killed themselves over it last time though. Not sure how we can increase those stakes or put them anywhere near that emotional precipice again with the same impact. Unless memory shenanigans are involved. Or it’s ghostbustery. Like we get a statement but every single one ends with “and then I, jonathon sims, sucked up the lonely fog with my fancy vacuum and everything was okay.” The more I think about this one the more I like it.

“Our World rebuilding after the Eyepocalypse”: Probably. Jonny said something similar to this back in the day, although the powers that be also said no romance or sequels or kissy noises so very little weight on their word. But again, that’s a bit of a genre shift. Unless we explore the cavities that the fears have left, the edges of what true natural human fear is like. But Martin’s voice also disproves this. So. Probably Possibly .

“Martin and Jon are separated Somehow and working to find each other Somewhere Else”: Likely. Am I saying this is likely because it’s what I think will happen? Yes. It keeps us on edge about everyone’s fate, and addresses all sides of the “did they survive” argument. (They made it through but Jon was STABBED, no they didn’t end up anywhere else, yes they did) Bonus points for Web!Martin. Bonus points for meeting all of our friends in this Alternate Universe. Bonus points for any and all exploration of the Cracked Foundation lore and mechanics.

In conclusion, I have no conclusion, rip me to shreds.

occasionally! if there's something that like. needs a response I do try to give them but otherwise I am very bad at getting back to comments. I do read and appreciate them all though!

it's the IT one tagged above lmao due to the like. 15/16 year old me projecting. I'm not very good at writing angst!

probably either of the broadchurch fics due to. trans joy and also gay domesticity

not actively? during my batman/b*tjokes years (bearing in mind I was about 14) I used to get occasional hate on tumblr due to trans/gay headcanons but that wasn't necessarily fic related. I also once had a pretty big b*tjokes writer comment on an old fic (like three or four years after I'd written it, when I was no longer In The Fandom) claiming I'd stolen their ideas and needed to either remove my work or credit them despite. only having read a few of their works very briefly. the work of mine in Question being a prompt fill. and me just following a lot of the trends of the fandom at the time? like sorry you don't actually have a trademark on hurt/comfort sick fics buddy it's a Fairly Popular Concept. anyway yeah that's about it.

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

nope <3 I've never tried and frankly I don't think I'd be very good at getting any ideas I have Across in a way that reads as sexy or hot enough to warrant actually writing it lmao

I don't think I've fully written or published any crossovers, however! every character I've ever liked has been thrown into a killjoys au in my brain at one point or another (including but not limited to: the scooby doo gang, the penumbra pod gang, the eos 10 gang, Cecil and Carlos wtnv, ect). myself and jon plotted a whole magnus archives/mst3k au that I Wish one of us had written, and another mst3k/the mechanisms au that started as a joke and become so insanely important to us it sincerely helped us get together as a couple. we also had an overall eos10/penumbra podcast crossover that I personally never wrote anything for but I think jon Started some unpublished fics that never got finished.

again, i dont beliebe so, but people are more than welcome to do so as long as im credited ofc

I class at least the first of my broadchurch fics as partially co-written with Jon bc he was a Huge Help in that fic getting written, and as you might be able to tell from above we've Plotted a lot of fic ideas together (another includes a very goofy villain-decay bill cipher gravity falls fic) but basically none of them ever actually get written

14. what’s your all time favourite ship?

argh I can't choose one all time favourite. jonmartin themagnusarchives are insanely dear and important to me, jongerry / jonmartingerry are closely behind that. poly scooby doo gang. vince/howard from the mighty boosh. these are all just sentimental ships if I'm honest. also I became ridiculously attached to mine and Jon's crackship of jonny d'ville themechanisms / Mike mst3k

15. what’s a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

honestly I'm kind of past the point of hoping to get back into writing due to. complete lack of willpower. but I wish I'd gotten round to writing the third trans Hardy fic I had planned at one point </3

16. what are your writing strengths?

idk!! I think I'm good at capturing like. very specific moments of domesticity and comfort. and I think when I'm imagining A Scene I'm quite good at getting the vibes of that scene across. but other than that I'm really not sure

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

oh god uhh. actually writing. linking scenes together. Plot other than just vague "here's two characters hanging out and existing". the list goes on

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't think I've actually attempted it myself? due to most characters I've written have been. incredibly British. I will say a pet peeve of mine in Reading a fic is when it is a fic in 99% English that'll have a large chunk of dialogue in another language, without a translation available somewhere for it. like a word or two is fine but if there's some actual plot in there and you're expecting me to Google translate it, that feels kind of the same as when subtitles simply say (speaking french) or whatever instead of Telling Us What They're Saying

20. favourite fic you’ve written?

it has to be she simply due to the Amount of trans love and support I got to hear about in the comments of that fic :,)
