that post I made with screenshots of that person who reposted one of my gifs and then asked me if I made money off my gifsets when I asked them nicely to not do that is going around again and I just gotta mention this because it is so funny to me—when someone comes at me sideways like that I look at their blog because I'm trying to figure out who they are, like as a person, what am I dealing with and why are they acting like this. And when I looked at their blogs they're out here reblogging tons of brennan lee mulligan stuff and that's so fucking funny because I bet you 10 bucks if you explained the situation to brennan he would fucking go off on a tangent about their behavior. Honestly hilarious but unsurprising that someone can be a fan of someone who is so outspoken about capitalism, social justice, building community, etc and not fucking get it themselves even on the most basic level. their understanding of the people they hold on a pedestal is surface-level at best and honestly it's embarrassing how much they don't get it. I see this all the time and it's wild how uncritical people are about the things they consume and how they behave in their day to day life fully contradicting the values they pretend to hold.

I've been thinking for a while that tumblr seems to be more dead than usual and it's... starting to get concerning? I'm looking at the pride, lgbt, etc. tags and even in the top tab most post have less than 1k notes, which is crazy for the "queerest place on the Internet". Tags from fandoms get the "I'm trending" thing but then you take a look at the latest posts and most of them have barely any notes and the top posts are from a couple of days or even weeks ago. Drawings don't get that many notes unless they are from both popular accounts and/or popular fandoms and even then the notes pale in comparison to what the same drawing gets on twitter... Maybe if I already was in a stable community/net of mutuals I wouldn't mind the inactivity so much but when you're trying to make friends this sucks a lot ngl!

Ever since I made that longass rant about soushin and general stupid fandom discourse I've been seeing even more tomfoolery on Twitter as some weird, backwards effect. Someone saying that most proshippers are pedophiles when "explaining" what proship means, another person qrt soushin gift art to shit on soushin shippers before insulting the recipient by calling them gross and saying that people deserve to feel like shit for ""shipping abuse"" and other BS as well. Also found an account basically just for hating on soushin and its shippers. Oh, and other people watering down the abusive nature of the ship again to defend it too. This fandom makes me so tired sometimes.

I truly think some people in the internet need to log out and talk to an actual real human person irl. If every message you send regardless of context looks like a Twitter callout/discourse starter post it's NOT normal and I can't empathize it enough. You shouldn't talk to people this way??? It's incredibly rude and uncalled for.
I think Twitter in particular has permanently damaged people's brains because I started noticing more and more people acting like they are in a ratioed hit tweet outside Twitter. I even started to see that when I spend too much time scrolling through Twitter, I myself start to formulate my messages in a more provocative manner like I have the intention to hurt someone's feelings to get a reaction. And surprise-surprise! It's not cool, guys! Not just in relation to other people but it's toxic to yourself, first a foremost.
Do yourself a favor: do outside, take a walk, talk to actual people, hang out with friends. Delete Twitter at least temporarily to detox. Literally touch grass.

Hey, sorry that this is a bit awkward ...
I moved accounts in 2021.
There are a few reasons I did this - for one, I didn't think the whole original-fanart-separate-accounts thing was working. I'm not exactly sure if the newer username is working out for me, but we'll see.
Here are some places you can find me for now, and I'll update this post if necessary:
https://href.li/?https://morningmaple.newgrounds.com/art/
https://morninmaple.tumblr.com/
https://twitter.com/MorninMaple (currently locked because of the plans for Twitter, but you can send a follow request)
I'm thinking of whether or not to go back to Instagram (I barely used it), but the pace there seems nuts. Maybe a WordPress or Framer page. I'm open to suggestions in messages.
I'm trying to shift my focus onto my original work. Last month I finished a short comic that's a teaser for my own comic series, so please check it out (through one of the links above)!

this is kinda vent-y and i don’t know how to explain this better but— i miss sanders sides. and i miss when the fandom was truly active. you can only do so much fanon content after such a long ‘’hiatus’’ (if we can even call that). i miss the sides, i miss seeing any new official tss content and getting so happy from it that my face hurts from smiling so much. i miss being fascinated by fanarts, i miss seeing familiar usernames from people that are (to a certain degree) well known in this fandom in my dash. i miss searching for new fics to read every once in a while because i have a Very Specific Taste and have already sorted through all that had my interest. i got into this fandom in late 2019, and even by that time it wasn’t ‘’very active’’ compared to earlier years i guess, but compared to now, it was thriving.
it’s just kinda... disappointing. i thought i would never get uninterest in sanders sides or thomas’ content in general, but now i see myself every day more and more far away from whatever it is that he creates. i still think thomas is an amazing and talented person, but... there’s been a while i haven’t got excited for his content.
i really liked roleslaying with roman, and the characters and pretty much everything about the series. it’s so fun and has a lot of potential fandom/fanon wise, but i think it can’t help but live in sanders sides’ shadow. specially with the name being roleslaying with ROMAN, even though they’re different version of the same characters, we associate one thing with another. i didn’t really mind the merch videos at first, but considering we haven’t had a new tss episode in over a year... it’s getting embarassing. like really, really embarassing. like, i wouldn’t release a new merch for a series i haven’t produced for in more then a year because i would genuinely be ashamed of myself for doing so.
it’s just really unfortunate that it has come to this situation. i get that the season finale is a big project, but he has been working on it for AT LEAST over a year (and i’m not exaggerating). meanwhile several other videos have come out. i mean, of course he doesn’t owe us anything but... even considering from a productive point of view -- it takes a lot of time and effort from script writing, costume prepping, songwriting, filming, editing, all of that -- i personally feel like there is no reasonable explanation for a new episode taking this long to come out. it’s not like he’s procastinating, he’s just neglecting it and hoping people will forget about it.
sanders sides got me lots of positive experiences -- a fun fandom, new friends, amazing fanon creations, incredible characters with so much potential for more development... it was what got me into gifmaking in the first place, but now there is just... i don’t really get excited about it anymore.
it kinda feels like we, the audience, have been left in a limbo. even if thomas’ would come out and say ‘’hey sanders sides is gonna be discountinued’’ it would be... at least SOMETHING. like we would know better than having blind faith and waiting for new content, you know. either get it done or end it, i don’t know.
