Damn that was one heavy episode of Dead Friend Forever. And once again, this director leaves us with an ambiguous ending.

Did they survive or not?

New really was the biggest psycho ever, the way he set up the murders and my heart broke for Tee and White. When they flashbacked to the scene were White said, "But I've done nothing".

Some very good foreshadowing.

R.I.P White, they did you dirty your only crime was falling in love.

But Fuaiz, you are two for two not getting your man and happy ending. Now to go back a re-watch Don't Touch My Gang.

Hmm.... who is objectively more smexy? Tee or Arty.

I feel you linger in the air: I already knew I'd love this show, and I've been enjoying every moment, but especially since ep 4. gosh, khun yai's drunken poem moment STILL has me clutching my heart while I wail around lmao. the acting is too good, the plot is original & I feel like I'm learning more about thai history, I love the charaters... I LOVE THIS SHOW!

dangerous romance: one of my most anticipated shows of the year, and it's been giving! I'm kinda losing hope on an explanation & apology on kang's bullying, but you know what? that's fine, the chemistry & cuteness of this show is enough for me so far. I CANNOT WAIT for shit to hit the fan tho, I'm here for the drama lol

love in translation: cute & silly little show! will I probably will have forgotten most of it by this time next year? absolutely. am I still eating it up, especially considering I saw the actors live irl at the gotcha pop concert? YUPPP.

sweet sensory: finally catching up to this, this is so fucking sweet! finally ploypach in a main role, she's eating!!! it's a really good show to make people more aware of what disabled people have to go through, and the chemistry is really fucking good! even though there won't be a kiss bc ploypach doesn't kiss, I can't wait for these two to get together seeing how much the male lead worships her <3

minato shouji coin laundry season 2: idk why I'm watching this... well I know, bc asakusa is one of my fave side characters ever lol. but this is a mess, I can't believe they even pulled the amnesia trope, the lack of couple-like intimacy is killing me... don't bother.

The Mythic Mumbattan AU is me pouring the following ingredients into an explosive mess:

Hindu mythology and Indian culture overload

college!Spider-Man shenanigans

revamping the original Spider-Man: India plotlines and expanding the lore

character studies!!! my favourite :)

a potential and self-indulgent crossover with another indian superhero (if we ever get there)

the horrors.

Pavitr and his personal cast!!! just!!!! THEY!!!!!!

So the CoffeeBean is a coffeeshop that existed in the mainstream Marvel universe and in real life but that's another thing; the cast below frequently drop by to hang out with one another. The Mumbattan-equivalent of the CoffeeBean is actually the TeaHouse which is another real life thing but shh and so in-universe they're called the TeaHouse gang, but in my heart they'll always be the CBG 😌

Everyone goes to Brihanmumbai State University (BSU). Lots of crazy things happen here. Pavitr's relationship with the others is always in flux but ultimately they're super close with one another (fuck it, they might as well be poly). Their personalities I try to keep as close as I can to the mainstream universe E616 comics, but I'm being creative and letting a few things from the SMI comics and ATSV influence them:

Pavitr Prabhakar — Tamilar (Tamil); he has the charm and skills from his ATSV counterpart and the smarts from his SMI counterpart; he can be a bit of a jerk and a flake, but he tries to be a good friend, and is much more open than he was in high school.

Meera Jain — Kannadiga (Kannada); basically how I've written her in tibim: everyone's first impression of her is that she's carefree and seems to not worry too much about life. She secretly deals with a lot of self-doubt and personal fears, but the gang's presence is enough for her to push them aside.

Gayatri Singh — Gujarati (Gujarati); she's probably the most quiet of the gang, but undeniably the kindest. She's more similar to Pavitr, in that she's stubborn and quick to judge. She's the glue of the gang and always willing to extend a hand to others

Hari Oberoi — Maharashtrian (Gujarati/Marathi/Hindi); the son of the man who tried to bring literal hell to earth, but other than that he's okay. He's a people-pleaser despite having everything, and struggles with his own self-image and who he should become

Ekansh "Flash" Travasso — Goan (Marathi); the high school jock who's grown more understanding and compassionate. He knew Pavitr the longest, so they have quite an interesting collection of interactions. (ALSO I'M SO SORRY I WROTE THOMPSON IN THE ART POST INSTEAD OF TRAVASSO 😭 maybe i should go back and edit that)

Spider-Man is Spider-Man'ing. Mumbattan loves him (sort of. Inspector Singh has mixed feelings). But another question: why is that every where Spider-Man goes the demons of yore all start showing up and begin wrecking havoc? Why is that? I am taking the magic in Spider-Man: India and dialing it up to five million — horrors and magic of every kind! I can get my hands real dirty and /really/ push Pavitr to his limit >:)

That is all for now. There will be more characters, but they'll show up in time. Lots of stories too, all old and new and revamped and crazy, but they'll be told when they're ready. Perhaps this is enough to satiate everyone's hunger? (unless you want to know something else, then by all means go ahead and ask!!!)

this rewatch of sdmi has been wild because once you start taking the talking animals and their place in the worldbuilding seriously it's just like oh wow this is some real final fantasy plot huh. what do you mean the resident discriminated-against beastfolk are not only descended from ancient otherworldly beings masquerading as gods, and not only driven insane even more effectively than non-beastfolk by a curse because of their heritage, and not only serve as apocalyptically powerful vessels for those otherworldly beings, but are easy to read as having been created specifically because they're more powerful vessels than normal animals, and then abandoned to their own devices (being enslaved) for thousands of years until the next time their creators pop into this reality and want a convenient corporeal form to snatch. which game in the series is this

#sdmi #scooby doo: mystery incorporated #shitposting #don't get me started on 'what if they look different to different people depending on what they expect to see'#'we're seeing them through the filter the gang/town would see them through; and/or the filter of the medium itself'#'and that filter might be kind of goofy and a bit abstracted; but still Recognizably Looks Like That Animal'#'if you take that away they look a whole lot less goofy and a *hell* of a lot more uncanny than what we get to see in the show'#'pericles is so completely removed from what his species is supposed to look like--#obviously his head is *way* more human-adjacent than a real parrot; but also there are notable differences from greys specifically--#because he has already been touched by the entity for his entire life; and he looks so completely different before and after the asylum #because the entity's had 20 years of isolation; among people who already see him as a terrifying monster; to turn all his influence on him'#'pericles looks the way he does because we are seeing the *real* pericles'#'or at least more of him than scooby or the others'#'that's what being the entity's special favorite will get you 🙃'#anyway these little fuckers are Interesting Actually and i'm having a lot of fun with them; even if the way canon handles them is upsetting #this isn't necessarily my main headcanon but it's one i like a lot and 'what do they *really* look like' might be a fun design challenge #SDMItag #to draw tag #professor pericles

#day before yesterday i was at starmarks #this guy (probably in college) came in dribbling a basketball and he was loud asf he wasn't even checking out the books #just staring at the girls and dribbling his basketball #and the college gangs are WORSE #they come in fucking packs like they're starting in teen wolf or smth and just keep giggling and gossiping while the books just lie #unread #yesterday I went to another bookstore and this one was my favourite #it was lovely and there were only two people and the guys helped me out when i accidentally misplaced the books #BUT THENNN #this college girl and guy came in and they literally did nothing i kid you not #they just sat in a revolving chair and talked SO FKING LOUDLY about their grandparents???#and the guy was like “oh don't touch the books uwu~”#not to me ofc bc he would've been in the hospital by now if he did that #but to his supposed gf #it pissed me to no end #like my guy it's okay if you don't like reading #we respect the fact that you don't like books #but please don't infiltrate safe spaces for people who actually do love reading #anyway fuck them

this is such a wild premise the budgeting issues and plot holes don't even bother me. I am entertained

#mr. white you're doing WHAT #the fact that his name is white and his twin's name is black #the absolute lack of hospital staff anywhere even in whats supposed to be ICU #the single oxygen mask on a guy in a coma and no other medical equipment. i don't think that pillow had a pillowcase #which may just be a hospital budget issue in-universe but it really stood out. us this supposed to be an underfunded hospital?#the fact that white was in touch with todd and wanted to meet up with his twin and todd knew where black was #but white never asked him I guess despite having his number #the fact that his dad told him to just forget his twin brother forever #the fact that white took a handkerchief as 'take my place in my gang and avenge me' so he starst taking pics of his unconcious brother's #body on order to replicate his tattoos and piercings #in order to impersonate him and infiltrate a gang. a nerd like him who clearly hasn't had to fight anyone in years #todd finding it the most natural decision and not even questioning him on it???#it's all so bold that I can't even complain. it's just an experience. fewer shows should make sense actually #and it gets right to the action without wasting time #love that #not me lb

If I had a nickel for every time I had a wolfboy OC named Peter Andy Wolf I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, and it's a pity that I've only been able to use that name twice.
