pope’s secret
summary: pope’s got a secret.
warnings: typos, probably.
notes: yall need to hype up pope more like you do with the other white boys.
Tumblr media
When Pope tells you to hold his hand while you’re trying to balance on a shallow piece of concrete, you don’t think much of it. You’re too busy trying not to fall, deciding your ego wasn’t as important as keeping your shins nice and clean. The bottom of your Converse is hitting the hot concrete and you can feel the heat from underneath the soles, but you don’t care. It’s a nice, sunny day out and you would be damned if you were inside the Chateau with minimal air conditioning, if anything.
His hands are surprisingly soft. This is the last thing you think about before giving up on trying to balance yourself. Pope laughs at your attempt and holds onto your hand when you step off of the makeshift balance beam and he holds on to you until you pull your hand away. You miss the delighted grin on his face when you tell him you’re happy he came outside with you despite the sweltering North Carolinian heat.
In all honesty, the Pogues never cared much about keeping secrets and it felt like the lot knew more about each other than they did about themselves. You knew everything there was to know about the rest of the group and they could say the same for you if someone were to have asked. The Pogues prided themselves in their ability to never keep secrets to avoid a major rift in the friend group because that was the last thing they wanted.
But Pope has a secret. He keeps it in a drawer hidden behind thoughts that consume him daily and he tries not to think about it unless he’s alone, if at all. Pope’s always trying to brave a smile and find new hiding places in his mind when he can feel this secret crawl to the tip of his tongue, ready for the secret to be spilled. His secret is that he likes you more than a friend.
When you look extra beautiful on a particular day or you say something profound that makes his eyes widen with interest, he has to breath to keep himself in check. Pope tries to clear his throat and make it look like he was coughing when he wants to think of anything but your lips on his. His mind races and his gaze focuses on anything that isn’t in your vicinity because he doesn’t want to give himself away.
Pope think he likes you because you took the time to understand him. Out of everyone in the group, he always felt closest to you and he knew it was a matter of time before his feelings graduated from platonic to romantic.
He can remember the instance when he first felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest if he wasn’t able to kiss you. You were tired and JJ had convinced you to smoke his joint a few times after you expressed interest in trying it for the first time. None of the Pogues could tell if it was because you had an eight hour shift at The Wreck, the joint, or both, but you were so out of it to the point where JJ had to physically hold you up to keep you from falling while your eyes were drooping.
Pope looked at you with adoration and loved the way your cheeks became red as the heat of the air seemed to increase. He watched as your cheek pressed against JJ’s shoulder, your face scrunching into an adorable pout when you realized he wasn’t going to carry you to the spare bedroom. Pope volunteered and JJ stood still until he was able to successfully carry you into the bedroom, which both he and JJ were happy to let you occupy.
Your lips were plump and Pope fantasized about stealing a kiss, but only when he knew you felt the same. In that moment, he tucked you under the comforter and promised to be there in the morning when you woke up.
He sat with his thoughts that night on the couch as Kiara went back to her house while John B. and JJ shared his room; he liked the way you looked at him if the others spoke over him. He liked to think you were encouraging him to continue talking and his heart always felt like it was beating faster than it should’ve been. He notices that your mind doesn’t wander when he talks about his academic studies and you never make jokes about him being the “mathlete” stereotype. You sit with interest and your eyes don’t gloss over any detail. When you’re around, he feels confident enough to tell the full story, not just a summary.
But that night, he decided he would never disclose his feelings for you to anyone in fear of ruining the friendship all of them had dedicated time into building.
You and JJ share the same personality and Pope think she doesn’t stand a chance against the blond that girls can’t seem to get enough of. He never noticed the amount of time you two spent together but started to put together just how often you two hung out if you weren’t with the Pogues and how often you two would sit by each other when you were. Pope tried not to be jealous and tried to remind himself that you hung out with John B. alone as well, but he couldn’t shake the lingering feeling off of his shoulders that seemed adamant to make him feel anxious about a potential rejection if he were ever to tell you about his feelings for you.
The man sat with his mouth shut one day when he realized you and JJ were late to the Chateau. Kiara tried to console him, upon learning his feelings, but even she had to admit you were spending more time with JJ than usual. JJ was at your place if he wasn’t in the Chateau or you’d be int he van with him, off to the beach to catch a wave at sunrise.
Pope’s heart began to falter when he realized he might lose you, and the idea of the two of you. to JJ. His daydream about being in a healthy relationship with you was slipping from his grasp and he didn’t know if he wanted a last first kiss or not. He could feel his heart clench when you two arrived and when you had barely looked at Pope before dashing to the spare bedroom with JJ. Neither of you had said more than a meek “hello” with a wave before disappearing around the corner and Kiara gave pope her most hopeful eyes. But there was no hope.
Until Pope decided to approach the guest bedroom.
“You’re not a loser,” JJ reassured. Pope couldn’t see anything and his back was flat against the wall beside the threshold. “You’re just someone who doesn’t know how to confront their feelings.”
“Is this supposed to make me feel any better?” you asked. Pope could hear the sarcasm drip from your tone and grinned to himself.
“Shut up,” JJ said, which made Pope think he rolled your eyes. There was always an ounce of sarcastic humor between the two of you. “You’re the person he trusts the most. I know I’m shit at this ‘love’ stuff but I know Pope and I know you. I can’t imagine two better people dating.”
Pope’s heart was caught in his chest and his eyes widened at JJ’s remark. He heard you sigh and hadn’t dared to let out a breath as he waited for your response.
“What do I say? How do I tell him that I’ve been in love with him since we were twelve and that I’d do anything to make sure he gets the future he deserves? I can’t even get the courage to hold his hand under the table, for Christ’s sake.”
JJ saw Pope’s figure emerge from the doorway and Pope didn’t miss the grin that donned on JJ’s lips. The blond put his hands you on shoulders and turned you around, your eyes widening at the realization that Pope heard your confession.
Wordlessly, JJ stepped around the two of you and left you to your wits and merits. Your eyes locked with Pope and you knew it would be useless to deny everything you had just said. The ball was in his court now and he knew it.
Pope didn’t need to say anything. The feeling of his lips on yours and his hands around your waist told you everything you needed to know about how he felt about you.

The Game is Afoot - pt. 4
Bill Masters x Alec Hardy Masters of Sex / Broadchurch Crossover Link to Part 3
So sorry for the long wait! Both my co-mod and I have been extremely busy with our personal lives. I’ve come down with the flu and also had to deal with an emergency that led me to move homes so I’ve had my hands very full. But this update became unexpectedly long, so there actually will be one more part to follow! (Though I feel I’ve been saying that for the past two updates already). Also, wow 300 FOLLOWERS! I am FLOORED. Thanks everyone for the support! I hope the newcomers are all enjoying the content here. I’ll also be putting up a navigation page for the blog soon so it’ll be easier to find the fanfics and fanart that we make.
-
Everyone was staring.
It was one of those rare days that Masters had gotten him to agree to get something that vaguely resembled a complete meal for breakfast, yet by the time they had sat down Alec was quickly losing his appetite.
Pushing thin-rimmed spectacles up the bridge of his nose, he pointedly ignored the sticky feeling of several pairs of eyes on him as he perused through the list of fifty or so names and phone numbers in his hand, taunting him.
“Holmes.”
Alec groaned. He was nowhere near cracking this case than he had been a week ago. There had to be something that he was missing!
“Holmes.” A hand shot out to grab his forearm. Alec looked up to Masters’ steel blue eyes lit up with… worry? “I know this serial burglary case has been driving you mad, but you look horrifying. Just, please, eat something.”
Alec blinked blearily at him. “I’m fine, Watson,” he said, mustering up all the vitriol that he could onto that last word.
“That’s doctor Watson to you,” said Masters, on the slight edge of teasing once again. “But in all seriousness, I am an actual doctor, so you better listen to me when I say you need to take better care of yourself.”
Alec snarled. “I bloody hate doctors.”
“And I’m sure they find you an absolute delight to be with.” Masters took a sandwich from Alec’s plate and held it up to his face. “Now, eat.”
There was something about the doctor’s tone that was so commanding, in a way that never failed to grab Alec’s attention. It was always paired by those cold blue eyes and set jaw. Alec could tell he wielded this weapon on more than one occasion. He could picture Masters talking down rivals or even superiors, looking every bit like the prim and proper man that he presented himself to be, the presence of danger in his eyes the only indicator of his vicious intent. Masters probably never had much difficulty in getting anything he wanted.
Damn, Alec thought, And why did this bastard have to be so bloody attractive?
Alec was able to hold down half of his sandwich. He managed to convince Masters that he would finish the rest at a later time at work. Masters looked doubtful, but that seemed to satisfy him enough.
The whispers restarted when they got up from their seats. Alec grit his teeth. Did this town have nothing better to talk about than what other people got up to? He took a deep breath and nearly prayed that Masters hadn’t noticed at all that the entire bloody town thought of them as an item and could not seem to shut up about it.
Masters walked a step ahead of him and opened the door. “Pleasure as always, Mr. Holmes,” he said with a smooth grin. Please, please please don’t notice how other people have been talking about us. Above all, please don’t notice how much I want them to be right.
Alec startled at the hand on his lower back, gently pushing him out the door. He tried to look more relaxed, but he could see Masters had taken note of it.
They stepped out onto the pavement. Alec lingered, not wanting to leave things awkward between them. They spoke at the same time.
“Look—”
“I’m—”
“You first,” Alec said.
“Holmes…” the doctor started, eyes darting around nervously. “You know what? It’s nothing. I enjoyed breakfast today. And your company, um… thank… you for that.”
Alec felt his cheeks warming. “Y-yeah? I mean, alright. It-it’s fine, I—” he could see Masters slightly pursing his lips. “You know people talk, right?”
“I imagine they do little else,” said Masters flatly.
Alec scratched the back of his head. How can he get his message across without sounding too presumptuous? “I mean they—ah, they seem to think that we… are together.”
Masters blinked. “But we are together.”
The blood in Alec’s veins turned to ice. “W-what do you—”
“Right now, we’re here. Standing. Together. Is there something so scandalous about that?”
Alec tried to look for any signs on Masters’ face that he was kidding, but there was none. His brow was furrowed in concentration, mulling over the oddity in Alec’s statement.
“O-oh, you meant—I mean, yes! Yes, we are indeed, um, together.” Crap! He’d completely misread the situation. He scolded himself. Don’t look any more like a bumbling idiot in front of him! What was he even doing? Bringing this up with Masters was a surefire way of sending him running for the hills. Alec internally sighed. What kind of respectable man would want to be associated with a “shitface” disgraced detective? If Masters had any idea that the people of Broadchurch had branded them as the town’s Couple of the Year, he’d never want to see Alec again, much less be seen with him. “I suppose I’m just worried about your um, privacy.”
“My… privacy.”
“Yes! You know how it is in here. Everyone’s always up in other people’s business and—oh, would you look at the time!” He raised his wrist and realized a bit too late that he’d forgotten his watch. “I best get going. This was…” There was no reason to look like a flustered schoolgirl, he told himself. “Great, uh… mate.” And before he could stop himself, his fist bumped dejectedly onto Masters’ arm.
For Christ’s sake.
Masters looked at his miserable excuse for social communication and thankfully said nothing.
“I’ll see you around.” Masters gave his arm a firm squeeze that sent electric jolts straight to his chest cavity and left.
Alec kicked the pavement—and inhaled sharply at the contact and the stabs of pain that coursed up his foot.
 -
Just to add a cherry on top of his already messy, bloody cake, a whole bag of bad news greeted him at work. Cold leads, no new suspects, and inconsistent witness statements. Alec spent the next six hours bent over files and data cards, shutting off all his bodily functions and channeling his energy into coming up with anything that might be able to make sense of this increasingly complex case.
“CCTV brought up nothing, sir,” said Miller, looking not much better than he did. “I searched all night-”
“But that’s impossible!” Alec rifled through his own notes, skimming across messily scrawled witness accounts. “You should able to find that red van on the corner of Ivy and Hodges. Without that, our entire case is just mere speculation!”
“I don’t know what to do, sir. I’m just astounded as you are.”
Alec groaned, taking off his glasses and pinching the bridge of his nose. “We can’t be caught theorising, Miller! We need evidence.”
“Hang on, I’m working on it!” Miller put her hands on her hips, indignant. “Don’t have to make it look like you’ve been doing all the bloody work. You know how many all nighters I’ve put on in this office?”
“I’m not accusing you,” said Alec, rubbing his entire face, trying to keep himself awake. He could feel his mind floating off elsewhere and that was not good.
“All the while you were off gallivanting with Doctor Masters—”
“Do not bring him into this, Miller. He’s got nothing-”
“Oh don’t put that ‘we’re strictly acquaintances’ bullshit on me! I’m happy for you, really I am. And you definitely need to unwind more than all of us here.”
“It’s not bullshit. We’re barely even friends.”
Miller rolled her eyes. Her expression shifted drastically from the hopeless look she sported before. “At this point, it’s not even cute anymore. You’re just being very annoying.”
“Glad to see I haven’t lost my charm.”
Alec raked a hand through his hair, fighting through a pounding headache. “Masters has given no indication whatsoever of him… caring for… in that way. Just let it go, will you?”
A voice from the main entrance halted their conversation.
“Delivery for a… Sherlock Holmes?” The poor delivery girl was holding up a brown paper bag in her arms as she read the card with pure confusion on her face. She flushed. “Oh no. I-I think this may have been a prank. Is anyone of you actually-”
Miller shot a pointed look at Alec, who stood frozen with his mouth open.
“No, luv, not to worry! He’s right here.” said Miller, walking over to free the girl of the package.
Alec briefly snapped out of it enough to process what he was seeing. “H-how much is this?”
“Oh, no, it’s already been paid for by card, Mr. Holmes,” said the relieved girl. “Have a nice day!”
Alec still couldn’t move by the time Miller had brought the paper bag over to him.
“Go on, then. Open it! This is probably the only entertainment I’m getting today.”
Alec glared at her. “Entertainment. Really, Miller, we’re not a soap opera.”
“Hardy, I have had a very long week and things are very bleak right now with the case, so either you open this bag or I open your skull. Your choice.”
Alec opened the bag.
Inside was a box of takeout from one of his favorite Thai restaurants nearby. A sticky note taped on the top read—I’m aware we’re both busy. Consider this my way of buying you lunch. (Finish all of it.) W.
Miller had been reading over his shoulder again.
“This doesn’t mean anything,” Alec said.
“I swear to god. I can’t deal with this right now.” Miller groaned loudly and cradled her head. “God, I need a coffee.” Alec heard her retreating footsteps.
Alec took out the food from the bag, staring at it as if it were on fire. What did all this mean?
The whispers came back full force. Apparently the entire office had a good view over what just occurred. It was clear the package was addressed to Alec, and they could only think of one person who it came from and they, unfortunately, were correct.
Alec grabbed the food and stomped over to his office, slamming the door behind him. He needed to put a stop to this. The situation was getting out of hand. If people got more ideas about him and Masters, it would ruin everything they had at present. Why, oh why did Alec have to always want more than he deserved? Why couldn’t he just be content with what he was given? Why did he have to develop shoddy feelings for the man?
He of course knew the answer to that. Masters was striking. He commandeered a presence in every room he entered. But more than his appearances, he was also interesting. Alec could never quite tell if he was a being a righteous asshole or just plain blunt. He’d only known Masters for five months, but the companionship between them grew with hardly any effort from either side. He was intelligent and funny, often without meaning to. Alec saw him and instantly felt the need to smoothen his suit, or fix his hair and just try his might at keeping up with the brilliance of this man, to impress him somehow. To make any sort of impression on him, really. He orbited around Masters, held in place by a natural gravitational force.
He absolutely cannot ruin this just because of some vastly exaggerated stories from the grapevine. Still, these people showed no sign of slowing down. He resolved to the one thing that was left for him to do: slam on the brakes.
He needed to avoid Dr. William Masters.
 -
The next day was barely any better. They had made no progress with the case, and both Alec and Miller were at their wits’ end trying to piece everything together. Alec hasn’t handled a case as harrowing as this in about a year. He stayed in the office all night so that Miller could go home and check up on her kids. Alec ran through more CCTV footage and transcripts from witness’ statements. He could feel the answer nearing him, almost within his grasp. He just needed to know which direction to take his hands.
Alec downed the rest of his tepid tea. He set the mug down. When did he get two mugs? It was only then that he noticed his vision spinning. He shook his head. There was no time for sleep when the truth was only millimetres away from his fingertips!
The vibrations from his phone woke him back up. He turned to look. Why was Masters calling at this hour?
“What?” His voice was gruff from disuse. He’d been alone in the headquarters for hours now.
“Ah, so you are still at work.” Masters’ voice was infuriatingly proper and formal, as always.
“Did Miller tell you that?”
“Ellie sent me a text saying you’ll be out all night. I see you’ve not had any luck on the case,”
Alec huffed. “Have you come to gloat?”
“Gloating’s not really my style. However, I will share with you the fact that I’ll be accepting an award next week for my groundbreaking research on improved strategies for in vitro fertilization.”
“That hardly sounds impressive, Watson.” It was very impressive.
“If properly adopted, they could increase IVF success rate by up to forty percent.” Alec could sense the excitement radiating off him through the phone. “Fertility treatments used to be so taboo, Holmes. But we live in an age where these conversations have been opened up in the vernacular. If these techniques—these conversations about the human body—could be made more accessible, imagine how many people can live without that social pressure burdening their shoulders, how many women would not be made to feel so-so ashamed of their bodies! This… This age is a turning point, Holmes, I can feel it. And I would like a part in it. Dabble my footsteps in it, so to say.”
“You’ll leave the most impressive footprints,” Alec found himself saying as a fond smile made its way over to his face.
“Will I?” said Masters, a little flirtatious.
There was no one around at the moment. Alec allowed himself to bask in it, his heart only a little bit broken. “Guarantee it. Be a goldmine for Forensics, I say.”
“Well, I’m glad you have so much confidence in me. Not very many people do.”
Alec took a glance at the clock. 2:17 A.M. and no signs of finishing work anytime soon. He took a deep breath—eyes opening in shock as the air rushed into his lungs like knives.
“Is everything alright?”
He clutched at his desk, making feeble attempts at normalizing his breathing, but the panic only grew stronger. His vision was blurring. Masters’ voice on the phone sounded much farther away.
The last thing he registered was the voice from the phone yelling out his name. His name. And then he blacked out.

Chibs POV
They had been in Ireland for a few days working and partying with SAMBEL. Jax had been told he would see Abel in due time, but he was growing restless. Father Ashby’s men had escorted Fi and Kerrianne to the clubhouse where he was waiting for them. He sat with his wife and daughter in his arms, happier than he had been in a long time. “We ‘aven’t heard anythin’ about Jimmy’s plans,” she said to him as they sat together on the couch in the den.
“Nothin’?”
“No. He’s kept me in tha’ dark for months.”
He held on to Kerrianne tighter. “There’s plenty o’ room on Oswald’s plane. Yer comin’ back wit’ us until all this blows over.”
“Oh yeah? When’s tha’, Da’?” she asked. “I dinna want ta leave Ireland.”
“We’ll be fine here, Filip.”
He sighed, wanting nothing more than to keep his girls safe. Chibs rested his head on Fiona’s as he pulled his daughter closer. He believed that if he let either of them go, they’d disappear forever. “Can we stay here tonight, Ma?” she asked.
Fiona glanced to her daughter and then back to Chibs. “I think yer da would like tha’, but just for tonight.”
Kerrianne smiled, something that was rare these days and it warmed Fi’s heart. “Go get ready for bed. Yer da’ and I need ta talk.”
She slid off the couch to borrow clothes from Trinity. They waited until she was out of the room before turning to each other. Fiona crossed her arms and stared at him with a raised eyebrow. “So,” she said, “who was tha’ woman staying wit’ ye, Filip?”
His heart raced as he thought of Isa waiting for him to return home. The last image he had of her was her standing in the parking lot, sun dancing down her body, as she watched them ride off. “She’s a friend of the club,” he said.
“Oh, is tha’ right? Then can ye tell me why she was standin’ in yer bedroom door wearin’ nothin’ but yer SAMCRO shirt?”
He felt a little annoyed by her accusations. “Look, Fi, what happens in Charmin’...”
“I ken. It’s none of my business.” She smiled. Fiona knew she couldn’t expect him to not move on. She knew he loved her, but he needed to get on with his life since she was no longer in it. “She’s awfully young.”
“Twenty-six.”
Fiona laughed. “Christ, Filip. She could be yer daughter.”
“Aye. She’s waitin’ fer me when I get home.”
She stood up and walked to the door. “I’m goin’ ta find Kerri. We’ll be back.”
“Fi,” he said, waiting for her to turn around and face him, “I still love ye.”
“I ken.”
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and looked to see if he hand any messages from her. There was a loud knock at the door, and then Jax walked in with a large grin on his face. “Just ran into Fiona,” he said, sitting down next to him.
Chibs laughed. “And?”
“I heard her muttering under her breath about some twenty-six year old Mexican girl.”
“She’s probably jealous. As much as I like tha’ lass, I want ta spend more time thinkin’ ‘bout ma family.”
Jax sighed and sat down at the edge of the couch. “I just want my son back,” he said.
Chibs patted his brother on the back. “You’ll find him, Jackie Boy.”
Her POV
They had been gone for barely a week, and she was obsessively checking her phone. Working at the diner had helped time pass by, that was until those men from the week before decided to come back to the diner. She was set to close that night, and asked one of the dishwashers to stay until they left. They waited until an hour before close to pay their bill and leave. The blonde one threw his money at her before leaving.
Isa finished wiping down tables and counting the drawer before heading out with her co-worker. “Do you work tomorrow?” He asked.
She smiled and shook her head. “No, I have the day off tomorrow. I’m moving into my apartment, so Becky gave me the day off.”
“Nice! Where at?”
“I was going to move to Oakland, but I found a place here in Charming for lease.”
He smiled and patted her back. “Congratulations, Isa. Enjoy your day off tomorrow.”
She waved goodbye and walked to her car. Digging through her purse, she fumbled to find her keys. She heard footsteps rapidly approaching her from behind, so she quickly turned around. The group of pervs from the restaurant where coming up to her. “Shit,” she said under her breath.
“Where’s your old man?” the blonde one asked.
“On his way to pick me up,” she lied.
“He hasn’t been here in the last week,” he said.
A panic rose in her as she realized that she was helpless. No one was around to rescue her this time from these creeps. She immediately began imagining the worst. That was until a voice came out from the shadows next to the diner. “Not so fast.” Tig stepped out, crossing his arms.
She smiled at him and leaned against her car.
“Been here all week, because he warned me about you.”
“Three on one ain’t hardly fair, old man.”
Tig pulled his gun. “I’m not about fair right now. Leave the lady alone, and find a new diner to eat at.”
They raised their hands in surrender. “Woah. Look, we just wanted some latino puss before heading back to school. She’s not worth dying over,” he said.
“Then leave.”
The three of them scattered, and Isa ran to Tig with her arms outstretched. “I told Chibby I’d take care of his girl while he was away. I’ve been here all week, just in case.”
She kissed his cheek. “Thank you so much.”
“Of course, darlin’. Now, we aren’t telling him until he gets back.”
“I would rather not tell him at all,” she laughed.
He handed her a helmet. “We’ll come get your car in the morning. You’re staying at the clubhouse tonight.”
“But tomorrow I’m moving into my apartment.”
“We can help with that,” he said, “but tonight you’re staying somewhere safe.”
She sighed and grabbed her phone. “Hold on.”
Isa dialed her aunt’s number to let her know she was staying in Charming with a friend so she wouldn’t worry. “Yes, Biazi, I’ll be careful. Okay. Love you too. Bye.”
She hopped on the back of the bike and held on. Before she knew it, they were pulling into Teller-Morrow and parking in front of the clubhouse. “You can stay in Chibs’ room tonight,” he said, “I’m sure he won’t mind.”
Chibs POV
He woke up the next morning and checked his phone for any messages. Even though he wanted to focus on his family here, he still wished she would send him a quick text or leave a voicemail. It pained him that she hadn’t. He opened a blank text and started to send something to her. After several attempts and multiple deleted drafts, he closed his phone and shoved it into his pocket. “Oh, just call ‘er,” Fiona said.
Chibs blushed. “It’s no’ tha’ simple, Fi. Besides, I’m here to focus on ma’ family and Jackie Boy.”
She raised an eyebrow at him as she combed her hair out. “If yer waitin’ fer my approval, ye dinna need it. We lead separate lives now.”
“Yer still ma’ wife.”
She nodded and rested a hand on his face. “If we aren’t goin’ with’ ye back ta the states,” she began, “we need ta talk about tha’ too.”
“No, we don’,” he replied.
“Yes, ma’ love. Ye canna start yer life over out there unless ye finish the life ye have here,” she added.
There was a knock on the door. “Chibs,” it was Jax, “let’s go. Clay wants us outside.”
“I’ll see you later, Mo ghaol,” she said.
Chibs left the room and joined Jax as they briskly walked outside to their bikes. There had been some doubt in Liam’s loyalty to the club and that he had double crossed them to Jimmy-O. Clay had recently found his safe house and was going to pay him a little visit. Chibs’ mind was half with the club and half with Fiona. He knew their talk was going to be an uncomfortable one. Once this was all over and Jimmy was out of the picture, they needed to determine what was to become of their little family. She and Kerri were not moving to America, and it was very doubtful that he was going to move home to Ireland. They both knew what the outcome was going to be, but because of their painful history, they did not want to say it outloud.
He was hurt to imagine things officially over between them, but he knew deep down that it was over long before today. Though they deeply cared for one another, they weren’t in love anymore. Chibs looked back at the clubhouse while he buckled his helmet and sighed. She was right. He couldn’t truly start a life in Charming if he still had a life in Belfast.
Her POV
Early the next morning, she woke up in the Chibs’ room in the clubhouse. She slid over to the dresser and grabbed a SAMCRO shirt and slid on her jeans. Isa stumbled out of his room to the bar of the clubhouse. She noticed that everyone was gone, except for a prospect who was cleaning glasses.
“Where’s Tig?” she asked.
“He, Piney, and Kozik had to meet with Alvarez this morning.”
“For what!” she exclaimed.
He shrugged.
“When did they leave?”
“‘Bout ten minutes ago.”
She ran into Chibs’ room and grabbed her purse. “I need a car, a bike, something.”
He tossed her keys. “Take the van,” he replied.
She ran out the door as fast as possible, hoping to reach the three of them before they could reach her uncle. “Idiotas,” she said under her breath.
They were already outside the Alvarez homestead when she arrived with Sons and Mayans alike pointing guns at each other. “Woah!” she exclaimed, running over to them. “Everyone just put your guns down.”
Her uncle saw her and lowered his weapon first. “Sobrina, what are you doing here? With them?”
“First of all,” she said, “I thought you all had a truce.”
He sighed. “Until they showed up here. At my house!”
“Look,” Kozik said, “it’s Salazar. He’s got Jax Teller’s Old Lady and her boss.”
Marcus took a deep breath and rolled his eyes. “That man is becoming a bigger pain in my ass every day. What does he want?”
“He wants you dead.”
The surrounding Mayans took several steps forward, but Isa stood between them and the Sons. “What do you mean?” she asked.
“He’s pissed off at you,” indicating Marcus, “and wants you dead. As well as Two Hundred and Fifty K.”
“Do you realize what will happen to my territories if everyone thinks I am dead?” he asked, annoyed.
“Just give us twenty four hours! Then you can rise from the dead and all them vatos will go spooky respect with that shit, you know?”
“You come to my house, where my family is pull gats and make demands. You got any idea what I can do to you?” Marcus added.
“Okay, it was stupid coming here. But Jax's son is already missing. And the thought of him losing the girl he loves We can't let that happen. Look, I'm really sorry we upset your family, but we're desperate. You're the only shot we got at saving those women. Look, we'll make it up to you. Somehow. Please,” Kozik begged
Marcus shot a glance at Isa before answering. “All right. I play dead 24 hours, and that's it. But you come here again truce, no truce, I'll kill all of you.”
They shook hands and the Sons left. Tig turned to Isa. “Look, Angel, we’d love to help with your apartment…”
She smiled. “It’s alright. Wolf was going to help me anyway.”
He winked at her and followed his brothers. She turned back to her uncle who was giving her the usual fatherly look of disapproval as he looked at her SAMCRO shirt. “Sobrina, Te he dicho que te mantengas alejado de ellos,” (Niece, I’ve told you to stay away from them.) he said.
“No lo siento. Me han cuidado bien desde que me mudé a Charming,” (I am not sorry. They have taken good care of me since I have moved to Charming.) she replied.
He sighed and folded his arms. “Pensé que te mudarías a Oakland. ¿Qué cambió tu mente?” (I thought you were moving to Oakland. What changed your mind?)
“It was cheaper to live in Charming, Tio.”
Marcus smirked at her. “I’m sure it was. Did the Scot go to Ireland with them?”
She looked down at her watch. “I have to go. Wolf is meeting me at my apartment in forty five minutes with a truck full of my things.”
“After, I want you and Wolf to come here for dinner. If I’m to be dead, you are to be here, mourning.”
She kissed him on the cheek. “Te amo tio”
“Te amo.”
***
Wolf was waiting just outside her apartment building when she pulled up in the Sons’ van. “Where’s your car?” he asked.
“We have to go pick it up later. Right now I just want to get moved in,” she said, grabbing a box out of the back of his truck.
It did not take long to finish moving some of her furniture to her apartment on the second floor. They had finished unpacking and re-assembling by 3:00. “I’m going to shower,” she said, “and then we can head over to Tio Marcus’.”
“Sounds great,” he said, “Should we drop off the Sons’ van for them?”
“Sure!” she exclaimed down the hallway. “Just ride with me to the restaurant. We can pick up my car from there before giving them back the van.”
The car ride to Oakland was very awkward and silent for the most part. Finally, when the silence was unbearable for Wolf, he cleared his throat and said, “Where’s the Scot?”
“I’m not sure,” she said, “I haven’t talked to him in a long time.”
“Oh, really? Where did you stay in Charming last night?”
She blushed. “Tig picked me up. I had a rough night at work, and he didn’t want me driving home alone.”
“Tig…”
“I’m telling you, I don’t know where Chibs is. I haven’t spoken to him.”
He sighed. “I just find it odd that you’ve suddenly become one of them.”
She shook her head. “Chibs helped me see that my hatred was misplaced.”
“So after all that time, you just forgave them.”
“Yes.”
“Wow,” he said under his breath, “I thought you would stick to your convictions more.”
“They didn’t kill my father, alright? After I found that out, I was able to release all this pent up aggression towards them.”
They pulled into Marcus’ drive and got out of the car. Diana ran outside and hugged Wolf immediately and then wrapped Isa in a quick embrace. “Come on in,” she said, “We have dinner ready.”
Isa smiled and followed her aunt into the house. She picked up Tessa from her high chair and held her in her lap. “Dinner smells delicious, Tia.”
“Gracias, Mija.”
She motioned for help in the kitchen, and Isa handed Wolf Tessa. “Your uncle tells me that you’re living in Charming now?” she asked, pulling the pork out of the oven.
Isa nodded. “Yes, Wolf helped me move there this afternoon.”
Diana smiled. “Does this have anything to do with that Son?”
She avoided her aunt’s gaze and pulled a piece of meat off the tray. “Not entirely.”
“Just be careful,” she said, “you know Marcus has worked hard to keep you away from that life.”
“I know,” she sighed, “but it’s part of who I am.”
“Does Wolf know?”
She shook her head. “I doubt it. I’ve tried to tell him several times we are never going to happen, but he won’t listen.”
“Grab that green platter,” Diana said, walking in front of her, “just let him down easy. He’s sweet and means well.”
Wolf had placed Tessa back in her seat and jumped up to grab the platter from Isa. “Is there anything I can do to help?” he asked.
“Nope,” smiled Diana, “this was the last of it.”
Dinner passed by slowly, but they stayed for several hours before driving back to Charming. They didn’t arrive at Isa’s apartment until 11:30. “Thanks for the invite,” Wolf said, as he leaned against the door for her building.
“You know you’re always welcome,” she replied, “You’re a great friend.”
He sighed. “You know I want more than that.”
“Wolf…”
He interrupted her with a kiss. His arms wrapped around her, pulling her closer to his body. At first she was caught by surprise, not sure of what to do. When she finally had her bearings, she put her hands on his chest and pushed him away. “Wolf!”
“I’m sorry, Isa. I’ve been in love with you since the day we met. You have to know that.”
“And you have to know that I don’t see you the same way!” She slugged him in the shoulder.
Hurt, he backed away from her. “You can’t seriously mean like the way you look at him.” Obviously meaning Chibs.
“Isa. He’s older than Marcus!”
She shrugged. “Lo siento. I don’t feel what you want me to feel for you.”
Her phone rang. They both looked down and saw Chibs’ name flash on the screen.
“Oh for the love of Christ.”
Isa answered it, happy for the interruption. “Hello?”
“Isa.”
“Chibs?”
“I’m comin’ home. T’night.”
She smiled. “When will you be in?”
“T’morrow some time. I’ll call ye’ when we land.”
There was a long pause. “Isa?”
“Chibs.”
“I’m glad ta hear yer voice.”
She could feel her cheeks run red. “Me too.”
They both hung up the phone. When she looked up at Wolf, he was driving away in his car back to the reservation.

Samuel Johnson once wrote “Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice. Injuries are revenged; crimes are avenged.”
But revenge is not always solely passionate, most times it is acted out of desperation.  The need to avenge wrongdoings with the most primal thought in mind; An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, blood must have blood - whatever you prefer to call it- with no other alternative in near sight.
People would argue that forgiveness, the common ground for the combat between past grievances and future healing, is the noble high ground, and while that might be true, one, you have never considered yourself as particularly noble and second, in your experience the taste of revenge, however fleeting it is, is undeniably sweet.
And lucky for you, forgiveness is the last thing on your mind...
“Open up you wooden piece of shit!” You clutch the axe in your hand before bringing it down, the blade ever so barely stopping right before it would scratch the coffin´s surface.”FUCK!!”
“Are you done?” Stefan asks, leaning against the cold stone wall.
It has been two days since you and Stefan snatched Klaus precious coffins he had been driving around in his very suspicious white van.
It's safe to say that you have never been this close to one, playing Klaus like a puppet and second, to Kol.
But like everything in your life, something has to get in your way. For whatever reason, the coffins are spelled shut, and there is no way to open them.
Which does not mean you won´t try your hardest.
“Does it look like I´m done?”
“Kind of.”
“Haha, you´re so funny. You know, I don't even understand why these witches decided to screw with me anyway. I was an ally to their kind back in the day.” You bring the axe down once again, hoping that your persistence would make a difference, when clearly, it won´t “Where's your loyalty now, huh?”
Even Bonnie, your newly made ally tried to get it open when she showed up after her dreams led her to the burned down house.Whatever is going on, witchy dreams are never a good sign.
At all.
“You and witches? You hate witches.”Stefan asks surprised, the sheer thought of you working with witches hard to grasp. You always seemed unsympathetic towards them. Or so he thought.
“I don't hate witches. I just hate what they can do to me. Especially the aneurysm. Ouch.” You remember the first time a witch gave you an aneurysm, it felt like your head was about to explode like fireworks. And not the good kind. “But I do have to say, I like Bonnie. She hates Klaus almost as much as we do. I like that in a person.”
You decide to give the axe one more try. You bring it over your shoulder, ready to break this coffin in half if you have to. You swing the axe down for the millionth time but as expected, it didn't hit the surface.
“I give up.” You throw the axe aside and let yourself fall on the floor, your back resting against the wall next to Kol’s coffin.
Stefan joins you on the cold floor, his jacket scratching against the textured stone wall. “Tell me about him,” he says glancing over at the coffin.
“About who?”
“Your boyfriend. Klaus brother.”
And there it is. You knew he must've eavesdropped.
“So you did hear my conversation with Klaus. Why didn't you say anything? You ask.
You knew Klaus didn't just start talking about Kol just for the fun of it. He must´ve seen
“I don´t know. Busy saving my buddy Klaus I guess.” He jokes.
To other people I might seem like his forced flipped switch is done and dealt with, but if your family is known for something is definitely to bury feelings under any form of wit.
“Ugh, don't remind me.” You roll your eyes, the thought of the epic failure that was supposed to be Klaus downfall makes you want to dig a hole and never come out.  “Look, I know how this must look for you, but Kol is different. He's no-”
“Is that his name? Kol?” You nod “Do you know who the others are?” Stefan asks. He has been wondering who he's been carrying around.
“These two are either Elijah or Finn. Only this one, I don´t know who that is.” You say pointing to the coffin It's true you don't have the slightest idea who might be in that coffin. Perhaps its the spare coffin for Rebekah?
“How can you tell who is who?”
“I´m not sure with Elijah or Finn. But with Kol...I just feel it.”
“You...feel it?” he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. He must think you´ve gone completely mad.
“Never underestimate the intuition of a woman, Stef.” You joke, earning the most exaggerated eye roll from your little brother. “Look, I know it sounds impossible to love anyone close to Klaus after everything he has put you through. But Kol hates Klaus as much as you do. Maybe more. No, definitely more. And I love him, Stefan. I really do.”
“So he's the reason you came back? Because Klaus has him?” He asks, his gaze evading yours by fumbling with his daylight ring.
For a fleeting glimpse there, young and vulnerable Stefan seeped through the cracks of his mask of bloodshed and vengeance. He must be worried that he's just a stepping stone to get Kol back. But of course, that's not true. You are glad you get to spend time with him after all these years. Even under these circumstances.
“Yes and no. he’s a very big factor as well, but you were and will always be my number one priority. If I had to run into a burning building to drag you out I'd do it. Again.” You say, the memories of that incident still so fresh in your memory as if they happened yesterday.
“But while we´re on the topic of me coming back to this god awful town, there is something you should know about that involves Elena and you're probably gonna hate me fo-” You stop midsentence, as two very familiar voices reach your ears. You always use your vampire hearing once in a while just to be safe of anyone that might be coming for you “Oh Jesus Christ.”
“What?”
You gesture to your ears and then upstairs, the chattering of Damon accompanied by Elena as they approach the ruins, reaching Stefan's ears. He looks at the coffins, the moment he lays eyes on them they disappear. These witches think fast.
Stefan?” Elena approaches the dark room with caution. Damon had to wait outside because the witch spirits resting in this house hate his guts and screwed with his daylight ring. Honestly, you can't blame them.
“Buh!” You whisper in her ear. Even a blood-sucking monster has to have fun, right?
“Y/N?! She jumps back in shock “What are you-” Elena begins, but Stefan's dramatic appearing from the shadows startles her.
“Elena, go away, you shouldn't be here,” Stefan tells her, his voice indifferent and cold.
“Stefan, I need your help.” She says, her voice shaking with worry and anticipation “Bonnie said that you would be here.”
“Well, Bonnie sucks at keeping secrets,” Stefan replies.
“Listen, you two need to give Klaus his family back.”
“Oh, really? Is that what we need to do?” You scoff. There is no chance you will let any of these coffins out of your sight again. Not until you know how to open them.
“Klaus compelled Jeremy to stand in front of a speeding car!” Elena argues.
“I don't really see how that involves us.” You shrug.
While you understand the need to protect your little brother, if Klaus resorts to such methods he is beyond desperate.
“Don't you get it?”You shrug again “Stefan, he's not gonna stop until he gets what he wants.”
“Elena, stop talking.” He rolls his eyes and you chuckle at his annoyed undertone he developed ever since Elena entered the room. “I'm not giving Klaus anything.” He shakes his head.
It must be hard for her to acknowledge the fact that even though Stefan flips his switch, and you're certain he did after Klaus set him free, he is not running back to her immediately.
“Are you listening to me? He's gonna kill Jeremy!”
“Not really my problem.” Stefan shrugs his shoulders.
Elena raises her hand and slaps Stefan with all the force her mortal being possesses.
Interesting. There is some fire in her after all. Who would´ve thought?
“And you can go to hell!! She yells at Stefan, then turns to you “Both of you.” she says on her way out.
“Already there, Elena. Already there.” You mutter, not caring if she even hears it or not.
You and Stefan only have the chance to share a look before Damon rushes through the house, his skin sizzling like bacon in a pan.
“Wow! That was impressive.” Stefan says in a sarcastic tone, almost sneering “But the coffins aren't here, so...You can go away now.”
“I don't care about the coffins.” Damon winced as his skin heals from the sunburns.”We need to talk.”
“Okay, let's talk.” You lean against the wall to your right “Tough, If you prefer a punch in the face again, let me know.”
“Nothing's ever easy with you two, is it?” Damon says before he attacks Stefan, vamp speeding him out of the house, so he doesn't have to watch out for the light shining through the windows.
You hurry after them, pushing Damon off of Stefan when he tries to hurt him with a wooden stake. Instead he plunges it in your chest, several inches away from your heart. Of course, he's not trying to kill you, just to hurt you.
Stefan punches him in the face as retaliation, but Damon is quicker and stakes him in the stomach with a tree branch.
Perhaps Stefan even wants him to let out his anger Damon has every right to be angry. From his point of view, Stefan blew the only chance of getting rid of Klaus. However, he doesn't know the whole story.
“That is for screwing up my plan! You stop me from killing Klaus and you steal his family! Why?? Doesn't make sense!” He yells and twists the branch and Stefan groans in pain. “Answer me!!”
“Stop it!!!!” You throw the piece of wood you retracted from your chest into Damon's shoulder before pushing him off of your little brother.
You wrap your hand around the branch and pull it out of Stefan's chest with one tug.
“Piece by piece Klaus took everything from me.” Stefan groans as you reach for his hand to pull him to his feet. “I'm doing the same to him. We both are.”
“But I had him, Stefan!” Damon snaps, pointing an accusing finger at Stefan “Why did you screw it up?”
“He did it to save you, you dumbass!!” You yell at him.
“What??” Damon freezes, the sickening feeling of realization settling within his bones “No. No way! You didn't do this for me.”
“He was one step ahead of us.” Stefan explains “If Klaus died, his hybrids would have killed you.”
“When are you going to get it through your head? Stop saving me!!” He yells at him and walks back to the house, his shoulder purposely colliding with yours.
But then he stops.
“Do you know what I can't figure out? Why steal the coffins?” He asks and faces both of you again.
“Even if it doesn't seem like it, Klaus´ siblings are a weak point we can exploit and use against him.” You tell him.
“Use against him to do what? You're not gonna kill him, you know how I know? 'Cause there was only one way to kill him and you blew that to save me.”
“You're wrong Damon.” Stefan shakes his head, reflecting Damon's usual denial “Klaus doesn't just get to live forever. There's another way. There has to be.”
There is. Two ways actually, one deadly one non-fatal but equally painful. But telling them isnßt an option. They would use the same weapon to get rid off all of them.
You can´t let that happen.
No, you won't let that happen. Even if it means you have to lie to them. Again.
“Fair enough.” Damon nods “But whatever you two are doing, I want in.”
“We don't need your help.” You shake your head. Planning anything with Damon most likely ends in a disaster. History speaks for itself.
“Really? Last time I checked you're hiding in a haunted house.” He argues and cocks his head towards the burned ruins.
“So? We like spirits. And not only the alcoholic kind.” You
“You're going after Klaus; Y/N.” Damon needles reminds you, as if you didn't know that already. “You have to be cutthroat and devious. I'm so much better at that than you two.”
Oh if you only knew, brother. If you only knew...
“Come on.” Damon continues “What do you say? If you're gonna keep saving my life at least make it for a good reason.”
“You want in?”
“Yeah.”
Stefan looks at you, waiting for your reaction. Having Damon on board would certainly be easier as facing his fury, but there is also the risk of Damon being….well Damon.
“Okay, fine.” You sigh “But it's just us three. Your precious Elena stays out of it, alright? Completely. If this is going to work we have to stick together.  No matter what happened or will happen. This is the only advantage we have on Klaus. We can´t let anyone screw it up.” You look at both of them and while Stefan nods, Damon rolls his eyes. How typical “No matter the consequences”
“Fine. Whatever, it's a deal.” Damon sighs, his foot impatiently tapping on the floor.
“Good.” You nod your head; ”Follow us.”
“Wait. I'm not so...welcome in there.”
“Don't you worry Damon. We all want the same thing.
You and Stefan lead him to the bad lid and dusty room and Damon follows close behind eager to know where you might have hidden the coffins.
“Have a look.” Stefan gestures to the empty room.
“What? Klaus is allergic to dust?” Damon jokes and looks at Stefan with a questioning look on his face.
“Hm...Look again.” You tell him and he promptly does as you ask, his eyebrows rising in surprise.
“Witch spirits hate Klaus as much as we do. They're using their powers to hide the coffins.” Stefan explains.
“So even if he comes in the house…”
“ ...he won't be able to find them.” Stefan finishes his sentence and Damon smiles, enjoying this hide and seek already.
While Damon ran back to bring Elena the news of his epic misjudgement, Stefan decided to dig deep into the lore, trying to find a way to open the locked coffins. And you, well….you don't want to let the coffins out of your sight. Especially, of course, the one with Kol in it.
He has been lost for decades upon decayed and now he's so close, so undeniably close with only a wooden barrier separating you.
You close your eyes for a mere moment, perhaps for a breath or two, leaning on the coffin supports. The air suddenly feels heavier as questions upon questions fill your head, the silence forcing them out of the shadows.
Why would the witches close the coffins? Will working with Damon work? Will they forgive you if they found out what you did? Will you ever see Kol again´?
But when you open your eyes again, instead of the pale, rigged surroundings, a different view lies before you. A beautiful night sky stretches itself above your head, the stars twinkling in shining as bright as they can while a street parade strolls through the streets, the music filling the silent night air.
You don't have to turn around to know where you are. How could you ever forget this night? But how the hell did you get to New Orleans, on the same rooftop of the Mikaelson house? Is this a dream?
You smile as the song you and Kol danced to start playing on the old Grammophon. You breathe in the feeling of tranquillity and wholesomeness spreading throughout your body.
This has always been your happy place. No matter what your immortal life threw at you, you always had this memory to come back to.  And being here in person, or whatever this is, couldn´t be more perfect.
“You’re a sight for sore eyes.” Your heart jumps at the familiar voice, you can feel it hammering in your chest. This great pounding, this great pressure, every beat now magnified.
Could it be….
You turn around and your heart now completely sinking to your knees, your eyes fixated on the person in front of you.
“Kol?”
To be continued….

Chuck vs 72 Hours
A/N: This takes place somewhere in Season 4. No idea where, just wherever you'd like it. I've seen some of these done before, but I felt a bout of my own silliness so here you go. Nothing else was working today so this one shot was needed.
Disclaimer: Don't own Chuck, and if I'm ever this high, please just take me out and shoot me.
"100 bottles of beer on the wall, 100 bottles of beer, take one down pass it around 99 bottles of beer on the wall," Chuck sang, very, very, off-key. Chuck stopped singing and looked toward the front seat at Casey. "Casey, will you be my sugar bear?"
"WALKER!" Casey yelled. "Get control of your boytoy or I'm pulling out Maggie!"
"Casey, if you shoot him I'll kill you!" Sarah yelled back.
"I was going to use it on me!" Casey retorted. "Christ, his singing sounds like cats having an orgy!"
"WHY ARE WE YELLING?" Chuck yelled, grinning. He stared at Sarah. "You're so pretty," he said frankly
"Focus, Chuck," Sarah said, grabbing both of his arms. He leaned forward, looked around, and smiled at her.
"I need you to tell me the truth," Chuck said, soberly. Sarah nodded. He spoke very softly. "Is my real name Focus Chuck Irving Bartowski, because you're always saying it, and I'm going to be SOOOO mad if it is and no one told me." Sarah closed her eyes, prayed for strength not to kill her fiancé, and opened them.
Somehow Chuck had managed to have found himself right in the middle of a chemical being sprayed. They were supposed to stop from a nerve agent from being spread. During the fight, one of the terrorists had grabbed an unknown vial and threw it at Sarah. Of course, Chuck had thrown himself in front of Sarah, thinking he was saving her….never really noticing or thinking about the fact that she had a gas mask on, and he didn't. Sarah had no idea what the side effects were of this unknown toxin, but he had been like this ever since they pulled him out of there.
"Call incoming!" Casey barked, pulling Sarah out of her thoughts. Casey put it on speaker.
"Good job, Team," Beckman said. "Now I understand we had a minor problem."
"Chuck," Casey grunted, as if that was all that was needed. Apparently it was.
"We recovered all of the toxic gas we sent you after," Beckman said, sifting through papers. "Oh," she said. Sarah waited, nerves eating at her insides, and then, she swore she heard laughter. "Well, there's good news and bad news." Sarah knew she was hearing Beckman laugh. "It's a type of truth serum with a nasty side effect."
"Is he going to be alright, General?" Casey asked, real concern in his voice.
"Well, it depends, are all of your guns stowed away?" Beckman asked. "Basically it makes them very…high."
"Christ," Casey muttered.
"Physical activity can make the blood stream move the chemicals out quicker," Beckman said. "Maybe you could get him to spar." A crash filled the van. "What was that?"
"Chuck just fell of the seat," Sarah said. This time there was no mistaking Beckman's laughter. "I'm not sure Chuck is in any shape for physical activity."
"Agent Walker, I am putting you in charge of Chuck's detox," Beckman replied. "It is up to you how to use Colonel Casey. He might help, he might be detrimental, your call," and with that she disconnected.
"Walker," Casey growled.
"What's that scary noise?" Chuck asked from the floor. Sarah buried her head in her hands.
}o{
"Casey, how long ago was Chuck exposed?" Sarah asked.
"Three hours ago," Casey replied. He looked up with a grin. Sarah was shaking her head no, and both giving him a death glare, and pleading with her eyes at the same time. "So just 69 hours or so to go." Sarah closed her eyes. She heard Chuck begin to giggle.
"Chuuuuck," she said.
"Sorry, Sarah," Chuck replied, and fell out of the chair from the laughter.
"Casey, go pick him up," Sarah said, her eyes still closed.. Casey grunted.
"AHHH!" Chuck yelled. "Scary, not pretty!"
"Casey leave Chuck alone," she said. She opened her eyes, huffed a breath, put a smile on her face, turned, and walked over to Chuck. She squatted down in front of him, her elbows on her knees. Chuck began to giggle again. "What's so amusing Chuck?" she asked, trying hard not to show her exasperation.
"That out fit is really tight," Chuck said. Sarah had an amused grin on her face. They were her normal black BDUs, it wasn't even the tight catsuit, that was at home.
"You like this outfit, Chuck?" she asked coyly.
"Sarah, you're beautiful in anything," Chuck said, grinning. The grin fell from his face. "I know what I must do," he said, scrambling to a sitting position.
"Chuck," Sarah began, trying to keep him still.
"I need to sing," Chuck said.
"Christ, no," Casey muttered.
"Baby, I-I wanna be….your soul provider," Chuck belted out, very off-key.
"It had to be Michael Bolton," Casey grumbled. Sarah turned to look at him.
"How do you know it's Michael Bolton?" Sarah asked. Casey went quiet. Sarah turned back to Chuck, but he had hopped to his feet.
"It takes two to make a things go right!" he sang to her, off-key again. Sarah had one eye shut.
"CHUCK!" she yelled. He became completely quiet and still. Sarah stood and took his hand. "I don't think you singing is the best idea right now." Chuck grinned, leaned over, and looked at Casey. He did a couple of slow shallow nods, and leaned back to face Sarah.
"I get it," he said, giving her the Bartwoski eyebrow dance. Apparently this dance was the new and not improved version. Before it was cute, this…this looked like a spasm. "You might not be able to control yourself and you don't want old captain grump over there to judge you."
"Christ, he thinks he Don Ho or something," Casey muttered. Sarah turned to look at Casey, who shrugged. Sarah turned back to Chuck, knowing she shouldn't want to know where this was going, but fascinated by it, like a passerby watching a car crash. Chuck leaned in toward her.
"But see, here's the thing," Chuck said, in a voice that was not a whisper. Sarah thought the way he positioned himself, he was going to whisper, but he didn't, in fact, if anything, he was talking louder. "He's rooting for us." Chuck leaned back, proud of himself.
"That's bull," Casey said. Sarah turned back to Casey, grinning. "I have better things to do," he said, and walked off.
"Good, now I can sing to my girl," Chuck said. Sarah turned back around. "Or we can talk about our pasts," Chuck said, his eyes widening with excitement.
"Sing away, Chuck," she said, pinching the bridge of her nose.
}o{
"Where are we with Agent Bartowski, Colonel?" Beckman asked. "And what is that noise?"
"That's Chuck singing," Casey replied.
"How do you stand it?" she asked. Casey held up a pair of earplugs, grinning.
"It's been eight hours, General, can we shoot him?" Casey begged.
"No!" Beckman yelled.
"I mean just a little tranq?" Casey pleaded. Beckman shook her head.
"However, I will sign off on your recertification for torture resistance," Beckman replied.
"I'd rather do the class for four straight weeks," Casey muttered. Beckman signed off.
}o{
"And then in 9th grade, Tommy Barnhart, pulled my pants and underwear down in front of my entire gym class where the cheerleaders were practicing," Chuck said, hugging his knees. "I had just had a very cold shower, and I hadn't hit my last two growth spurts."
"Now is that hart or heart?" Sarah asked, writing his name down. There was a small list of names of all of those that had done something to Chuck in school and what that transgression was.
"I'm not sure," he said.
"Don't worry, I'll find him," Sarah promised.
}o{
"Colonel, you look terrible!" Beckman said, looking at Casey.
"It's been 24 hours, General," Casey said. "I've lived in walls for weeks. I've gone seventy-two hours without sleep, but this is torture."
"What is going on?" Beckman asked. Casey turned pale.
"Walker had an idea of physical activity that might get things out of his system," Casey said. Beckman's brow furrowed, and then it raised to the top of her head. "Yeah, and when he's like this, he's very vocal, moreso than the earplugs can handle." Beckman was snickering. "General, permission to leave."
"Not until Agent Walker gives the okay," Beckman said. "Why don't you go to another part of Castle."
"I WAS AS FAR AS WAY FROM THEM AS I COULD BE!" Casey yelled. Beckman burst into laughter. "Sorry, General." She just grinned, and cut the feed.
}o{
"Casey, go home," Sarah said, looking exhausted.
"No, the marines leave no one behind," Casey replied.
"Casey, I don't know if I can do this," she said, near tears.
"Look, he's locked out of the system from Washington, there is no way he can get out," Casey replied, his voice full of despair. "We shoot each other and then we don't have to deal with him anymore."
"It's a small world after…" Chuck began to sing. He looked down to see six darts sticking out of him. "I feel a weewoozyh," he mumbled and collapsed on the floor. Casey reached over and took Sarah's tranq gun away from her.
"Perhaps we both shouldn't have shot him," Casey said looking at him. Sarah shrugged.
"I told him what would happen if he sang that song again," Sarah replied.
}o{
"Casey! Walker!" Beckman yelled. The two agents rushed into the briefing room, looking refreshed. Beckman raised an eyebrow. "Whatever you do, do not tranq Bartowski." Sarah's eyes grew wide.
"Crap on a cracker," Casey muttered.
"General, if we did, what would happen?" Sarah asked.
"Once he woke up, each dart he was hit with would make the toxin last an additional 12 hours," Beckman explained. Casey openly sobbed. "Colonel?!" Sarah looked sick. Beckman looked from one to the other. "Dear God, how many?"
"Three," Sarah replied. Beckman nodded. "Each," Sarah added. Beckman tried to control her face, but it twisted and she burst out laughing, and cut the feed.
"We thought we were halfway home, now we have 4 ½ days left with him like this," Casey cried. Sarah patted his back.
"Maybe they were wrong," Sarah said. Casey looked up at her. "Yeah, if anything knowing our luck it was too short of an estimate."
}o{
"My fiancé shot me in the heart," Chuck sang off-key.
"It wasn't in the heart, Chuck. It didn't reach the heart," Sarah said.
"My fiancé tried to shoot me in the heart but couldn't reach it," he sang, giving her a look.
"Chuck, I'm sorry," Sarah said. "This is just hard."
"Tried to save your life," he sang very low. "And then you shot me….YEAAAHHHHHHH. You shot me." Sarah rolled her eyes. The printer began to print and Beckman came on the screen.
"Team, we're going to try something," Beckman said. Chuck wandered over to the printer, and picked up the paper. He looked at it, finally focused, and flashed. He fell over after it was over. "Well, that answers what happens if the Intersect flashes drunk." Sarah ran over to Chuck.
"Owie, my head hurts," Chuck said.
"Focus, Chuck," Sarah began.
"I knew it was my name," he replied.
"CHUCK!" she yelled. He froze, his eyes nearly bugging out. "Do you know the antidote?" He didn't move. "You can respond." He nodded slowly. "You seriously know the antidote?" she asked, starting to get emotional. He nodded. "What is the antidote, Chuck?" He shook his head no. "Chuck," she said, the warning in her tone.
"No, you two shot me, and I'm not gonna tell," Chuck replied.
"CHARLES IRVIGN BARTOWSKI!" She screamed. "If you don't tell me that antidote, I am going to kill you, and then eat you, because you've made me so mad I can't stand it!" Chuck was giggling.
"You're so cute when you're angry, plus, I knew it, you are a cannibal," Chuck replied.
"BARTOWSKI!" Casey yelled. "I have a needle I'll stick in your eye if you don't tell me!" Casey roared. Chuck screamed and passed out.
"CASEY!" Sarah yelled, frustrated. "You know he has a low pain tolerance!"
}o{
"You sure about this, Walker?" Casey asked, as Sarah walked by wearing a trench coat. Sarah turned and looked at him. "Heh."
"Now remember, no matter what you hear, do not come in there," Sarah said.
"Walker, short of Ronald Regan walking in here and commanding me to go in that room, I'm not going anywhere near it," he said. Sarah walked in. Casey heard the trench coat hit the floor.
"Ack," Chuck mumbled.
"Chuck, will you please tell me what the antidote is?" Sarah asked, seductively.
"That's nota…nope…not gonna tell you," Chuck sputtered. Casey heard Chuck make a few noises. "I'm stronger…this is no way to start marry time….you're so pretty." Casey heard a soft hum, that sounded like Walker. "NO!" Chuck yelled. "I'm not telling you the antidote is milk!" Casey heard heels, and Sarah walked past wearing a black lingerie outfit with heels.
"Christ, I'm shocked he lasted that long," Casey muttered as she walked back by. She stopped, started to say something, shook her head, and headed back into the room, carrying milk.
"NO, SARAH! NOT GONNA GULPAPhahapyguwytjh!" he yelled.
"It sounds like she's waterboarding him," Casey mumbled, and started toward the room.
"Don't come in here!" she yelled. Casey went back to the desk.
}o{
"I'd like to apologize to everyone for my actions the past few days," Chuck said a half hour later. He was freshly showered and had changed clothes. "I don't really remember a lot, except singing…really bad singing."
"You took the toxin meant for your teammate, Agent Bartowski," Beckman said. "That's who you are." Chuck smiled. "Although next time, you might want to factor in she was wearing a mask and was protected." The smile fell.
"Noted," he said, looking down.
"I'm going to take Chuck home and deal with a few errands, General," Sarah said. Beckman nodded.
"I'll clear your schedule for the next few days while you recuperate," Beckman said, and cut the feed. Chuck turned to Sarah.
"I feel like I should help you, since I'm sure I put you through a lot," Chuck said. Sarah smiled at him, and pulled him in for a hug.
"I got this, Chuck," Sarah said. Sarah watched him walk out of Castle. Casey pushed a folder over to her.
"He should be getting off of work in about an hour," Casey said, grinning. "Need backup?" Sarah grinned at him.
"I could use a little muscle," Sarah said.
}o{
Tommy Barnhart woke up, feeling a little woozy. He opened his eyes and noticed he was naked, all wet, and the water was quite cold. He was in an open shower, chained up. He looked and saw the key on a bench in front of the locker. He remembered coming out of the office building, felt something in his neck, and someone whispered, "Payback's a bitch." He looked up at the sign on the locker room wall. We Welcome the Burbank Rusty Years Retirement Home Ladies! The door opened to the room, and twenty or more older ladies, the youngest looked to be seventy, came into the room. They all stopped short.
"Cold water, gets them every time," one of the women in front said, shaking her head.
}o{
Chuck was flipping through the paper, and stopped short. It had been a few days since the debacle with the gas. He felt good, and ready to go.
"Something wrong, Chuck?" Sarah asked, coming into the kitchen, and seeing him look at the paper in shock. He grinned and looked up at her.
"Nothing wrong, more like some karma came around on an old high school bully," Chuck said, pointing at the article in the paper. Sarah came over and looked at it, an amused grin on her face, but her spy face was on. Chuck narrowed his eyes. "Did I ever tell you about Tommy Barnhart?"
"I don't know," Sarah said, making a thinking face and sitting down across from him. Chuck grinned at her.
"Well, he's in my past," Chuck said. "I do wish I could thank whoever did that though."
"I guess we'll never know," Sarah said grinning.
"It's a small world-" Chuck began, not off key.
"I WILL KILL YOU AND EAT YOU!" she yelled. Chuck nodded.
"Noted, I'd hate to end up like Tommy," he said, grinning as he got up to put his empty cereal bowl in the sink. "I love you, Sarah."
"Love you, Chuck," she replied, smiling. "Now never sing that song again." Chuck just shrugged and headed to the bedroom. "Chuck? Do you hear me?" she yelled chasing after him.

• A king who feared wasps once decreed that they were abolished. As it happened, they did him no harm. But he was eventually stung to death by scorpions. – Idries Shah • A male scorpion is stabbed to death after mating. In chess, the powerful queen often does the same to the king without giving him the satisfaction of a lover. – Gregor Piatigorsky • A society driven mainly by selfish individualism has all the potential for sustainability of a collection of angry scorpions in a bottle. – David Ehrenfeld • An untrampled scorpion troubles no one. – Paolo Bacigalupi
jQuery(document).ready(function($) var data = action: 'polyxgo_products_search', type: 'Product', keywords: 'Scorpio', orderby: 'rand', order: 'DESC', template: '1', limit: '68', columns: '4', viewall:'Shop All', ; jQuery.post(spyr_params.ajaxurl,data, function(response) var obj = jQuery.parseJSON(response); jQuery('#thelovesof_scorpio').html(obj); jQuery('#thelovesof_scorpio img.swiper-lazy:not(.swiper-lazy-loaded)' ).each(function () var img = jQuery(this); img.attr("src",img.data('src')); img.addClass( 'swiper-lazy-loaded' ); img.removeAttr('data-src'); ); ); ); • Christ wants not nibblers of the possible, but grabbers of the impossible, by faith in the omnipotence, fidelity, and wisdom of the Almighty Saviour Who gave the command. Is there a wall in our path? By our God we will leap over it! Are there lions and scorpions in our way? We will trample them under our feet! Does a mountain bar our progress? Saying, ‘Be thou cast into the sea,’ we will march on. Soldiers of Jesus! Never surrender! – Charles Studd • Do you know the story of the scorpion and the frog? You know, the frog agrees to carry the scorpion across the river, because the scorpion promises not to sting him. And then the scorpion stings the frog, half way across the river. The drowning frog asks him why he did it, when they’ll both drown, and the scorpion says that he’s a scorpion, and it’s his nature to sting. – Gregory David Roberts • Duane Allman was one of the best there ever was … when you listen to him, you are hearing a truly gifted individual giving his all to the music, and there is nothing better than that. Duane played music the same way that he rode his motorcycle and drove his car .. he was a daredevil, just triple Scorpio, God’s-on-my-side wide open… that was part of the romance and I loved Duane. I have nothing but admiration for him – Richard Betts • Each of us as he receives his private trouncings at the hands of fate is kept in good heart by hearing of the moth in his brother’s parachute and the scorpion in his neighbor’s underwear. – N. F. Simpson • Envy is one of the scorpions of the mind, often having little to do with the objective, external world. – Bonnie Friedman • Envy, if surrounded on all sides by the brightness of another’s prosperity, like the scorpion confined within a circle of fire, will sting itself to death. – Charles Caleb Colton • God has allowed some magical reversal to occur, so that you see the scorpion pit as an object of desire, and all the beautiful expanse around it as dangerous and swarming with snakes. – Rumi • I am a Scorpio, and playing the seductress appeals to me. There are a lot of women throughout film history, like Marlene Dietrich or Mae West – those are the women I was always attracted to. The bad girls. – Chloe Sevigny • I can bear scorpion’s stings, tread fields of fire, in frozen gulfs of cold eternal lie, be tossed aloft through tracts of endless void, but cannot live in shame. – Joanna Baillie • I can only hope he’s an Aries and not a Scorpio. – Candace Bushnell • I could fall in love with a cruel desert that kills without passion, a canyon full of scorpions, one thousand blinding arctic storms, a century sealed in a cave, a river of molten salt flowing down my throat. But never with you. – Henry Rollins • I give you five minutes to spare your blushes. here is the little bronze key that opens the ebony caskets on the mantle piece in the Louise-Phillipe room. In one of the caskets you will find a scorpion, in the other, a grasshopper, both very cleverly imitated in Japanese bronze: they will say yes or no for you. If you turn the scorpion round, that will mean to me, when I return that you have said yes. The grasshopper will mean no… The grasshopper, be careful of the grass hopper! A grasshopper does not only turn: it hops! It hops! And it hops jolly high! – Gaston Leroux • I have snakes, three sharks, moray eels, piranhas, five scorpions and a bird spider. All of them are predators. They are dangerous but it’s cool to have strong and powerful pets. – Tracy Morgan • I kept having dreams all night. I thought they were touching me with their fingers. But dreams don’t have fingers, they have fists, so it must have been scorpions. – Roberto Bolano • I love people, studying people. That’s the Scorpio part of me. We are natural detectives; we like to find things out. – James Van Praagh • I must brave the interior of the most tawdry and literally trumpery tower of them all … the Trump Taj Mahal. For taking the name of the priceless mausoleum of Agra, one of the beauties and wonders of the world, for that alone Donald Trump should be stripped naked and whipped with scorpions along the boardwalk.- It is as if a giant toad has raped a butterfly. – Stephen Fry • I stopped watching for ridicule, the scorpion’s tail hidden in his words. He said what he meant; he was puzzled if you did not. Some people might have mistaken this for simplicity. But is it not a sort of genius to cut always to the heart? – Madeline Miller • I think making a pretense of civility toward Eric Alterman is like making a pretense of civility to a scorpion. – John Podhoretz • I used to have 30 different species of tarantulas, as well as two Australian scorpions that are considered the deadliest in the world. If stung by one, a person would die in 30 minutes. But when I had kids I had to get rid of them, of course. Those were intense! – Jonathan Davis • I will now make a scorpion appear in Osama bin Laden’s pants – David Copperfield • If it is not strong upon your heart to practice what you read, to what end do you read? To increase your own condemnation? Things to do in Montréal April 21 to 27
Montréal celebrates spring with in dozens of colourful ways this week: a Cirque du Soleil circus show; a massive art fair; butterflies at the Botanical Garden; literary luminaries at Blue Metropolis; international dance performances; and live music from orchestras to electro.
Spring in the city
