(I mean I would ask about Shoes for Turtles but you already gave a lot on that, but feel free to waffle more about it anyway)
(it occurs to me that you did not actually tag me in that post, you just left it open to whoever and I considered myself tagged. there. I have edited my post.)
“Leo’s still up there,” Raph said in the Rise movie, to Donnie, the one brother who can FLY. who, in canon, was probably too injured and weak to conjure a means to fly, yadda yadda. Donnienoes, a series titled Dominoes on Ao3, is me deciding nahhhhh let’s have him try to save Leo. Thus was born Drifting.
the repercussions of Drifting are supposed to be addressed in a sequel called Landing, and that is why Donnienoes is still in the WIP folder. but it has been FIGHTING me. I do not know what to do with it. neither threats of angst nor promises of fluff have worked to get it off the ground. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
SHOES FOR TURTLES IS MY DARLING AND I WILL TALK ABOUT IT ANYTIME. It is my love letter to every iteration for making TMNT writ large so reiterable. It is my first exploration of shuffling the sibling dynamics. It is a desperate scrabbling to find plot buried in a really cool sandbox. It is many things. It intimidates me🙃

The twins are alone for the first time since they woke up. Donnie thinks maybe something is wrong with him that he doesn’t feel relief.
Leo glues his eyes to the door and latches onto Donnie’s whole arm like a koala.
Oh, they are so very messed up.

Leo wakes up to the smell of shampoo, his face pressed into a soft head of hair, arms wrapped around a warm body with no shell. Casey, a dim memory suggests, and oh yeah, that was the name of their new human.

I am SO AMUSED at myself and at fic writers let’s see if I can describe why
So I really admire the way my favorite writers have threads of future plot stuff woven in from the beginning, foreshadowing or whatever, and you don’t know what it’s gonna be but you can Tell that something’s important
well I keep doing it BY ACCIDENT and now I’ve gotta wonder just how many of my favorite writers are being geniuses by total accident if it’s apparently a thing that can just happen xD
(if I post it please know that I will be watching comments like a hawk to see if anybody catches my accidental maybe-genius)

a lovely review on Drifting has just accused Donnie of committing war crimes (reviewer was being positive but not joking) and if you’ll excuse me I have to go look up an official list of war crimes somewhere because. i mean. yeah maybe. even probably. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
anyway this suggests I’m more desensitized than I thought to this type of thing in fic so maybe I should be more diligent about tags and rating and stuff, I feel like war crimes should probably have a tag xD
