photo making the rounds again and i just wanna clarify something about it. the op isnt talking about people supporting real life incest. their talking about people shipping fictional characters. you can think its gross, lord knows it squicks me the fuck out, but its still fiction. people can like shit in fiction without supporting it in real life. and while i dont know if the artist has done anything bad, fanpol (aka anti shippers) will do some rlly fucked up shit to people  over fictional ships. im gonna list some examples, plus a link to a thread with a bunch of screenshots below the cut, but really heavy fucking trigger warning.

here is a list of normal fanpol behavior: death threats, rape threats, telling people to kill themselves, harassing people, calling people slurs, saying victims of abuse deserved what happened to them, sending pictures of irl and animal gore, sending extremely sexual messages and asks even if they know the person is a minor and more.

1. Who is your favourite character in 2? Well that one is easy as hell. Lucas Lallemant, without the shadow of a doubt. I just adore that boy... I really do believe that he’s the most developed character of the whole skam universe. Also, i relate to him so so much, being parisian and 17 and queer and just, globally similar. And that Acting (TM) sure helps (will i ever be over axel’s acting? I dont think so)... I am gonna stop before i write essays (you all think this is a joke but i actually write random stuff about Lucas when i get bored in class, thats how bad it is). I just really love this boy folks...

2. Who is your least favourite character in 1? Well that’s an easy one too. Vernon Schillinger, because he is a neonazi, which is enough. And he is just plain BAD (rapist, murderer, coward, blackmailer... you name it)... And it’s not even a love hate situation, i despise the guy so  much, he makes me wanna crawl off my skin whenever he is on screen. Also i think he’s quite one dimensional which is very weird for that show but yeah. He is The Bad Guy.

3. What is your favourite episode of 4? Well that’s a harder one lmao, because you know, the show has been going on since 1963, which means i have many many favourites... Imma go only with reboot, cause thats the one i know better and i have to say it’s the one i enjoy the most. I think my all time fave is the two parts one, The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances, because those are just so perfect in every aspect imo. But i also love love love the library arc from season 4 (i think lmao) because KUDOS FOR MAKING US INSENSITIVE ABOUT A CHARACTER’S DEATH ONLY FOT IT TO KILL US LATER (and overall the episodes are so so good). Also, because i’m a hoe for big dramatic moments, the episodes with the Master (end of s3 and end of s4 mainly, i dont really like Missy) and the two parts The Stolen Earth/Journey’s end (i remember being so hyped by all of them squading up). Also, it’s not an episode but it deserves its place there: the entire season 6. Because Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Alex Kingston and Arthur Darvill are just so good. I didnt really enjoy seasons 8 to 10 (even tho i adore Peter Capaldi), but season 7 also has some that i loved (Angels in Manhattan and The Name of the Doctor killed me). And the 50th anniversary. I MEAN THIS IS COMPLICATE I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH IT HAS SO MANY GOOD EPISODES (and it’s the first show i got obsessed with so theres that)

4. What is your favourite season of 5? I think i’ll go with season 2 (?), because i love the og squad and they were all in it in s2, and i think the arcs were done really well (and the last episode, haha, me dead)... S3 and 4 i enjoyed less cause i think the teams didn’t really work without Tosh, Owen and Ianto... I couldn’t really find that magic again (and yes i’m still bitter). 

5. Who is your favourite couple in 3? It’s hard to find ALIVE people to form couples with lmao so i’ll go with one that is in kinda stand-by... it’s complicate...  Rick and Michonne cause i loved how they were best friends first and how their whole story was built... It made a lot of sense to me. Also i love the show less nowadays but i think those are still strong characters (minus Rick now lol)

6. Who is your favourite couple in 2? I had to snort. I know, it’s going to surprise you all, but it’s Manon and Charles OF COURSE. Kidding (pls. break. them. up). It’s Eliott and Lucas (how many of you all are surprised) because. Do i need to explain. Just. Everything. I can’t even put it into words. they’re just a perfect match and so in tune and so in love and i should stop now but i won’t so i’m sorry. I love how they complete each other and understand each other, and i loved how Lucas made Eliott’s dream real (polaris), and i love how they arent perfect yet they learn with each other and they make each other better . I love how cute they look and how in love and how raw. I love the way Lucas’ voice softens when he talks to eliott, and the way eliott’s eyes are so full of wonder. Also the way they fight sometimes but always come back to each other and love stronger. And their ship names literally means “chosen one”, how could I not ship? LISTEN THEY JUST FIT OKAY AND I WONT TAKE ANY CRITICISM

7. What is your favourite episode of 1? oh god i don’t remember them all at all lmao but imma try to come up with one (not 22838 like i normally do). So i’d say 4x11 (revenge is sweet)?? but honestly the show is so continuous that its hard to choose one ep... id say s4 is my favourite hands down though

8. What is your favourite episode of 5? YES THAT I CAN!! it’s from season 1, even though i love s2 better overall, Countrycide. I loved everything about that ep, and it still sends shivers down my spine when i think about it. I particularly enjoyed how it depicted the team’s relationships and how it showed that monsters can be amongst mankind (which, we been knew, but still. it was very well done for a show that fights aliens to fight humans)

9. What is your favourite season of 2? Another easy one! Season 3, as my entire blog can attest. It’s just. A masterpiece. That’s it that’s the post.

10. How long have you watched 1? I bingewatched it in like two months (cause i had to take breaks because school) in 2016. It���s a show that ended around 2000 so it’s not like i HAD to wait, and the episodes aren’t really stand alone so i had to watch them in a row.

11. How did you become interested in 3? I started watching with my dad because he is a cinephile that shows me loads of movies and tv series, then showed it to my mom. And now my dad stopped watching so i watch it with my mom exclusively even though i dont enjoy as much as i used to (still love it though). 

12. Who is your favourite actor in 4? Matt Smith (even though i adored Eccleston, and couldn’t appreciate Tennant’s AMAZINGNESS cause i was too sad to see 9 go aoimjdk). But Matt Smith is the funniest, most Doctor-ish one imo.

13. Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5? This is gonna sound like a betrayal to shows i’ve watched for so many years but Skam France, hands down. (i’m obsessed okay)

14. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3? 3 because it has more eps and i’m caught up with both, so logically its 3.

15. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be? Umh i think i’m kinda similar to Clara in some ways (?). Maybe. Like in the way we’re both hopeless romantic in search of an adventurous life. Plus, she is a lgbt+ icon and you can’t convince me otherwise so there’s that. i mean i think i globally identify with companions cause i wanna be them so bad lmao (imagine how cool it would be for my nerdy self ugh). But i look like a Sontaran so. Mayhaps i’d be one of those instead

16. Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work? umh that’d be funny as hell. The Doctor just jumping in a zombie apocalypse. Though i think they’d find a way to stop the apocalypse, so the second show would be annihilated by the first one. Mmh. Interesting still, up for it (i’m up for anything tbh)

17. Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple? That’s the hardest one i had to answer GOD. I’d go with the crack ship, Ryan O’Reilly and Miguel Alvarez, tho they would both kill me and then burn my body if they ever saw this

18. Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5? Weeeelll i think The Walking Dead used to have an amazing storyline (the Governor’s arc was spectacular), but now i’d go with Torchwood cause sometimes (a lot of times), shows that don’t try to make it last for ages tie everything better. And Torchwood did tie things well enough imo (even tho i’m forever sad and bitter)

19. Which has the better theme music, 2 or 4? I don’ think Skam France has a theme music?? more like soundtracks (amazing ones)??? But i mean even if it did Doctor Who would still win cause the themes are fantastic (yes i went there)

Summary: A story in which Engie and Scout bond

Engineer hummed quietly to himself as he carefully cut out the small men shaped cookies from the dough he had just rolled out. It was quickly nearing Holdiay time in the base, and while the Mercs weren't exactly the most...merriest of people. They still found time during this time of year to be a bit more cheerful.

Speaking of cheerful, Engineer watched as their more bubbly member of the team entered the room practically bouncing on his feet.

The boy had been even more hyperactive lately and it was endearing....to a point, the others just hoped he called down once the festive times where over.

"Hiya Engie! What's up?"

Engineer chuckled softly as he began to transfer his cut out gingerbread man to their tray "I'm just finishin there here cookies, I found an old recipe of mine and thought I'd give it a bake"

The youngers eyes lit up at the prospect of cookies (and Engineers cookin) and he eagerly bounced his way over.

"Ooh man! I love Gingerbread cookies! Can I help?"

Engineer chuckled, patting the younger man on the head "Sorry Son, but I'm just about done with these. Plus we all know what happens when you try'n cook"

Scout pouted and crossed his arms "As come on Engie! I'm an okay cook!"

Engineer snorted shaking his head "Boy you could burn water if you tried.." He paused before speaking " Buuuut if you really wanted to help, you could always decorate those cookies over there while I finished these "

Scout lit up instantly grinning widely "Really? Aw heck yeah! Decorating em is the best part!"

He bounced over to the cookies already cooled and ready for icing, grabbing the materials he grinned widely at the idea that had formed in his mind.

Engineer smiled fondly before shaking the spoon he was holding at him playfully "Now Dont you go and draw nothin inappropriate on them okay?"

Scout rolled his eyes "I ain't, I ain't! Trust me Engie! Your gonna Lov em!"

************************************************************ Engineer sighed as he finally put the final.batch of cookies in the oven to bake, wiping his hands on his apron he turned to attention to Scout who was being quiet. Which for Scout, was considered quite the oddity.

The runner was bent over the cookies, brow furrowed and tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth in concentration. Icing stained his hands and bandages and he had somehow managed to get it on his cheek and nose.

Engineer called out to him "You doin alright over there son, your bein awful quiet."

Scout passed in his decorating to flash Engineer a bright smile "Yep! I'm doin great! And I'm just about done with these cookies too!"

Curious Engineer walked over and peered over the boys shoulder to see how he had decorated the cookies so far,.his eyes widened slightly behind his goggles.

"Well I'll be darned"

Scout grinned at him " You like em? "

Engineer laughed "Their adorable! You really got a knack for this kinda thing don'ja son?"

Scout face flushed slightly as he grinned sheepishly "Heh, thanks Engie...Hey, you think the others will like em?"

The Texan placed an arm around the youngers shoulder.

"Their gonna love em." ******************** Sniper sat on a lonely feats, back resting on the wall as he carefully cleaned his guns.

Normally be would be doing this in his own camper but due to the cold and snow Medic had forced.him inside.

"It iz too cold to be sleeping in a Camper Mein friend!"

Not wanting to argue knowing he would loose, Sniper had reluctantly moved into the base and he admits.that is was more pleasant and warmer then in his camper. Though he would have to get used to all the noise.

"Oi! Oi snipes!"

Speak of the devil.

Sniper sighed as he placed his gun down turning to see both Scout and Engineer making his way towards him though Engineer was being much more carefully as he appeared to be carrying a covered plate.

Scout skidded to a stop in front of him "Hey Snipes! Wanna cookie?!"

Sniper blinked in surprise "Uh, Yeah sure mate I guess"

Scout grinned he reached over at the plate reaching under it and searching for the correct cookie.

"These are special cookies! And Engie made em so you'll know they'll be good!"

While Engineer flushed slightly at the compliment, Sniper raised a brow "Special?"

Scout nodded his head rapidly "Yep special, hold on...here!"

Engineer tipped his hat while Scout beamed, tugging at Engineers arm to get him moving eager to give the rest of the treats with his team.

The others had all enjoyed their own respective cookie minis.

Heavy had thought they were adorable and delicious, Medic had loved the attention to detail ( "Ze Blood splatters look incredible" ) Soldier had declared them to be very American, Demo had pretend to cheer bottles with his cookie who had a Mini bottle of his own, Pyro had nearly crushed them both in a big hug and Spy had pretend not to care to much but Engineer could see the how proud he was of Scouts artistic skills and thanked them respectively. Though Engineer got quite a laugh out of it when Spy nearly dropped his own cookie when Scout had replied with a cheery.

"Thanks pa!"

Now that they had delivered the goodies to each respective Merc, Engineer prepared himself to go back to the kitchen to finish the rest of the cookies when Scout approached him.

"Wait a sec Engie! You forgot yours!"

Turning to the Scout, the boy held out his own respective Cookie mini. Engineer beamed and carefully he took the cookie from the younger with a chuckle he carefully broke it in half offering a half to scout.

"Happy holidays son."

Scout looked surprised but beamed at the gesture, he smiled and took the half from him.

"Thanks Engie! Hey! We should make cookies more often!"

(part 1) ur gonna roast me for this but im legit curious why mafia AUs are so bad? im asking in a non confrontational way, i get it romanticizing mafia is wrong, but i also believe that 1)most mafia AUs are a really toned down type of mafia;2)they do make for some interesting kinds of dynamics with fanart and with fics; 3)in a fic specifically u can create your own world and call something mafia and still make it so they don't kill innocent people but only idk members of other gangs or sth

okay, so, let’s have it out of the way: I have nothing against mob aus or crime aus. I have a problem against calling them mafia AUs because in the US mafia = organized crime at large, in Italy mafia = ACTUAL EXISTING ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE ACTIVELY HARMFUL. now that I introduced the topic I’ll c/p you the reply I gave to another anon who while discussing the issue pointed out that most writers don’t even know Italian mafia is a thing, which is pretty much on the same discourse so...

*The thing is - in the US it might not be enough of a deal anymore and I honestly do get why people make the mafia = regular mobsters, since the mafia was the first foreign organized crime being exported to the US via italian immigrants (sorry if this sounds horrible in English but I just woke up and I still didn’t have coffee) so I understand that mafia became the umbrella term.But the thing is that - as you said, these people don’t even know that there’s a mafia in Italy anymore or where the word comes from.

 I’m going to link to italiansreclaimingitaly’s tag about the mafia and its perception outside Italy because they posted about this extensively and it’s an excellent resource, but meanwhile I’m gonna do a very short bullet point list and about the topic:

Mafia might not be a big deal in the US, but it still is here. We have the beauty of four different mafias (Cosa Nostra - the Sicilian one, camorra which is the one in Campania but has tendrils spread everywhere, the 'ndrangheta which is in Calabria and the Sacra Corona Unita in Puglia) which are all active [especially camorra and 'ndrangheta] and whose actions have direct impact (negative) on our economy and on our society. Actually mafias are one of the main reasons we’re currently economically fucked up, and if I start talking about how mafia culture keeps some areas literally backwards I could talk about it for three months.

There are still people who are killed for standing up against them. These days the most prominent personality is Roberto Saviano who is a writer who dared to put together a book documenting minutely the way camorra works and he’s been living under protection for years by this point. Like, they want him dead because he wrote a book. And I’m sorta sure that he was talking about leaving Italy and going to the US after years of sticking with it here because he can’t take it anymore but I don’t know if it was a taken decision or if it’s still debating it.

It wasn’t even thirty years ago that we had the stragi di mafia - in english it’d be something like the mafia slaughters, basically around the beginning of the nineties there were a number of bombs planted by the mafia targeting people who were trying to oppose it including judges Falcone and Borsellino, actually the anniversary of Falcone’s death is like... tomorrow. And they’ve killed people for way longer than that. Here is a list of only Cosa Nostra victims including the ones from the eighties/nineties. And people are still dying because of it. The slaughters I’m referring to are just the ones in the nineties which are enough of a number.

They also perpetuate a culture where if you testify against your mafia-employed relatives you’ll be shunned forever. There are women who testified against their families and couldn’t see their children anymore never mind that they weren’t automatically considered a relative anymore the moment they sided against the mafia. Some people have committed suicide after becoming witnesses also because our police force/justice system can be terribly non-supportive in this kind of situation so they got left on their own. Never mind that back in the day - it was the beginning of the nineties? - I recall at least a particular story of - I think, correct me if I remember wrong but I can’t remember the names for the life of me - where this guy testified against the local mafia when he either used to work for them or was forced to pay them the pizzo and in retaliation his six-year old (or five? Anyway he had a son younger than ten for sure) got kidnapped, killed and thrown into acid to dispose of the body. That happened in what, 1993? 1994? It’s pretty much yesterday. And now the camorra is doing the same - there’s a list here of camorra victims among which accidental passerbys that got killed because they were in the way which I can tell just by glancing is not complete. And I’m not even going into the 'ndrangheta. That is to say, here mafia still kills people and cripples our country.

Now, I get that it’s a word, but the point was: let’s say that instead of the Italians the Japanese came to the US first and the umbrella word for organized crime was yakuza rather than mafia and let’s say yakuza was still what it was originally in Japan while in the US it stopped being a big deal and people write yakuza!AU instead of mafia AU. Let’s say someone Japanese gets angry at that and goes like 'listen the yakuza is a real deal it does this this this and that and it’s a plague in our country so can you please at least look it up before writing your fanfic’, which is what had happened way back then when this whole mafia and fanfic thing blew up. A bunch of people told us to get over it because it’s just a word and if it’s a problem in Italy it’s not in the US so why should they care? Now, if we had been Japanese (or Chinese or Russian or Mexican) would they have said the same thing? Considering the general tumblr attitude I’m pretty sure they would have received either an apology or 'this is an important deal let’s keep that in mind’ with signal boost reblogs and stuff. 

It’s the fact that we should get over people not knowing that it’s still a real problem for us and that they can’t take five seconds to google it that is the problem imo. Especially when instead of mafia au you can just say mobsters au or tag it as organized crime and everyone is a lot happier, mostly because as the tag above explains romanticising the mafia is a good thing for them because it means they can act outside Italy with less stigma because everyone thinks that the mafia is dead or not relevant anymore, if I’m explaining myself. (And it’s active outside Italy - like, there was a mafia kill in Germany in 2007 where six people died (sorry the link is in Italian but there isn’t an English wiki page, if you look the city up you’ll find something probably) and it was because of the 'ndrangheta.

I’d really like to not get worked over it because it meant it was a thing of the past y'know, but the problem is that it isn’t and I’d rather spread some awareness in hope some of these writers look it up (because it’s a good thing that people know what mafia is since as stated they have tendrils everywhere - if you read Saviano’s book the entire first chapter is about how camorra regularly deals with Chinese import/export in Italy for one) than shrug and figure that since they’ll think everything is good for fanfic then it’s not even worth my time.*

Only post it if it depicts sexual acts\nsfw privately between us.

Dramatics

** Important: Always be sure to communicate with your partner individually if you think you are about to go outside their comfort zones even just the slightest bit!

Violence

When it comes to violent situations, I am comfortable with:

No violence at all! (no i like me my violence)

I’m fine with verbal arguments!

Some violence, like a paper cut, or an accidental elbow to the face.

Mild violence, such as punching, kicking, hair pulling.

Violence, such as stabbings. (just no actual killing of my characters pls)

Beyond violence, such as torture and more. (again no actual killing but something like this will probably hafta be planned out but again, i like me my violence. even if i might not be great with writing it haha) 

If you are going to do something violent, please:

Don’t do it at all.

Talk to me about it first.

Surprise me! (just again no actual killing most everything else is fair game, i’ll tell u if i get uncomfortable or anything)

Dramatic artwork:

Do not post any dramatic scenes that that happened between our characters. (no lemmie see let everyone see lmao)

Talk to me about it before posting! (probably mostly to figure whether it’s ic or occ)
