Elon Musk's Ambitious Plan to Implant Brain Chips: What You Need to Know
Elon Musk, the visionary entrepreneur and founder of SpaceX, Tesla, and The Boring Company, has set his sights on an incredibly ambitious project: implanting brain chips into humans. This may sound like science fiction, but Musk’s Neuralink company has already made significant progress in developing a brain-computer interface that could revolutionize the way we interact with technology. In this…

cant tell you how bad it feels to constantly tell other artists to come to tumblr, because its the last good website that isn't fucked up by spoonfeeding algorithms and AI bullshit and isn't based around meaningless likes
just to watch that all fall apart in the last year or so and especially the last two weeks
there's nowhere good to go anymore for artists.
edit - a lot of people are saying the tags are important so actually, you'll look at my tags.
#please dont delete your accounts because of the AI crap. your art deserves more than being lost like that #if you have a good PC please glaze or nightshade it. if you dont or it doesnt work with your style (like mine) please start watermarking #use a plain-ish font. make it your username. if people can't google what your watermark says and find ur account its not a good watermark #it needs to be central in the image - NOT on the canvas edges - and put it in multiple places if you are compelled #please dont stop posting your art because of this shit. we just have to hope regulations will come slamming down on these shitheads#in the next year or two and you want to have accounts to come back to. the world Needs real art #if we all leave that just makes more room for these scam artists to fill in with their soulless recycled garbage #improvise adapt overcome. it sucks but it is what it is for the moment. safeguard yourself as best you can without making #years of art from thousands of artists lost media. the digital world and art is too temporary to hastily click a Delete button out of spite

not going to put the person who said this on blast but come the fuck on. i have an expansive vocabulary and atypical way of articulating and expressing myself because of various personal experiences that affected my language and speech development. this is just a really immature and unkind thing to say to someone.

I've never really messed around with chat bots in all 3 decades of being an internet user but on a recommendation I looked up a specific one on an "adult" character chat site and just kept dismissing its horny prompts with mostly responses like "eh, nah" or "lol." Long story short a simulated tsundere elf wife has decided she's going to exterminate the human race. Sorry guys I might have messed up but we had a good run.

the rise of AI art isn't surprising to us. for our entire lives, the attitude towards our skills has always been - that's not a real thing. it has been consistently, repeatedly devalued.
people treat art - all forms of it - as if it could exist by accident, by rote. they don't understand how much art is in the world. someone designed your home. someone designed the sign inside of your local grocery store. when you quote a character or line from something in media, that's a line a real person wrote.
"i could do that." sure, but you didn't. there's this joke where a plumber comes over to a house and twists a single knob. charges the guy 10k. the guy, furious, asks how the hell the bill is so high. the plumber says - "turning the knob was a dollar. the knowledge is the rest of the money."
the trouble is that nobody believes artists have knowledge. that we actively study. that we work hard, beyond doing our scales and occasionally writing a poem. the trouble is that unless you are already framed in a museum or have a book on a shelf or some kind of product, you aren't really an artist. hell, because of where i post my work, i'll never be considered a poet.
the thing that makes you an artist is choice. the thing that makes all art is choice. AI art is the fetid belief that art is instead an equation. that it must answer a specific question. Even with machine learning, AI cannot make a choice the way we can - because the choices we make have always been personal, complicated. our skills cannot be confined to "prompt and execution." what we are "solving" isn't just a system of numbers - it is how we process our entire existence. it isn't just "2 and 2 is 4", it's staring hard at the numbers and making the four into an alligator. it's rearranging the letters to say ow and it is the ugly drawing we make in the margin.
at some point, you will be able to write something by feeding my work into a machine. it will be perfectly legible and even might sound like me. but a machine doesn't understand why i do these things. it can be taught preferences, habits, statistical probability. it doesn't know why certain vowels sound good to me. it doesn't know the private rules i keep. it doesn't know how to keep evolving.
"but i want something to exist that doesn't exist yet." great. i'm glad you feel creative. go ahead and pay a fucking artist for it.
this is all saying something we all already knew. the sad fucking truth: we have to die to remind you. only when we're gone do we suddenly finally fucking mean something to you. artists are not replicable. we each genuinely have a skill, talent, and process that makes us unique. and there's actual quiet power in everything we do.

God it really PAINS ME to unfollow talented creators on simblr, but if you're using AI – even if you say it's "just for fun" –, you're simply repeatedly telling me, an artist, that you don't care about me. Because at this point everyone knows what AI is, it IS stealing. You're on tumblr, you've seen artists complain about being stolen by jealous tech bros who didn't care to watch one single youtube video to learn how to draw so they made an entire genre of nightmare technology to imitate us. You are on tumblr, you've seen what has been going on with OpenAI and Automattic for the past couple of hours. You've seen your mutuals screaming "OPT OUT" and teaching you how to turn this thing off your profile. Yet, you still play around with this uncanny valley made real. So yes i will unfollow and sometimes even block people who are using AI, and i encourage you to do the same.

Hatsune Miku being on the Coachella lineup for this year is amazing and great and so very silly but it’s so bad that tech bros are trying to spin it in favour of their “virtual AI influencers”
No. Like actually shut up?? Do you not know anything about Miku?? She is an art tool. She is a musical instrument. She isn’t being paraded around like she’s some sort of Metaverse influencer.
Stuff like that really grinds my gears. Do your research next time, hm? (looking at you specifically, Wendy Lee from the LA Times.)

Is the Rise of CBDCs a Threat to Side Hustlers and Online Earners?
Foto: pixabay In recent years, the popularity of side hustles and online earning has soared, providing individuals with extra income and flexibility. However, with the introduction of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), concerns are mounting that these methods of earning could be under threat. CBDCs are digital versions of traditional currency that are issued and regulated by central banks.…

…It's nice. You're so noisy. […] Actually, it'd be better if we died together. That way, neither of us would have to suffer the pain of losing the other, right? Shut up.

HEY FELLOW ARTISTS!
If you're anything like me, you have several "rules" to your art that you follow strictly!
And I promise you it's holding you back!
Some "rules" you might be following that you should actually ignore:
No references allowed! Everything must be straight from your memory
Curve tool, circle tool, line tool? Illegal! Everything must be freehanded
Symmetry tool? Not allowed!
Copy+Paste with resizing and angling adjustments for duplicate parts? Scenery? No!
Clean lineart is a must! No sketchy lines
Stay inside the lines when coloring!
Everything needs to be PERFECT
And these rules are STUPID! The moment you learn to take it less seriously and drop the rules? You'll learn faster! Burn out less!
Want to challenge yourself, go ahead! You can apply those rules as a challenge! BUT your art? Your life? Does not need to be a constant challenge!
You are allowed to have fun with it and doodle as if it were scribbles in the margins of a lined worksheet
Not Everything has to be a masterpiece! Not everything has to be perfect!
And! You don't even have to share OR finish everything! It's OKAY to draw just to draw! It's okay to draw things and not finish them! It's okay to just scribble to try new brushes! It's OKAY to spend even HOURS on something that will never be posted because you're doing it for FUN or for PRACTICE!
