For some reason I was wanting to hold Gerwyn (Hope’s brother) all day, but kind of afraid to. Kassie grabbed him and made me hold him. I took a deep breath in his fur and he smelled... not like Hope. He smelled like fur and hay and bunny. Not urine, poop and necrotic flesh. He smelled good, and it made me sad. I must have been in serious denial to think that just with the way she smelled - that she might get better. Who knew that I would miss that foul smell of sick bunny? But Gerwyn smelled good. Like a rabbit is supposed to smell. He cuddled and didn’t mind me holding him so close. I was going to take him to a rescue, but I don’t think I can. He’s all of Hope that I have left. Well, besides her bum leg. Yes. My taxidermy-loving child saved her leg.
