Changed Serena from a tabby cat to a Leafeon this time around. Veronica would be an Eevee (with Flareon's moveset and stats, idk whether she'd remain a fire type or go back to normal type).

Ashamed to admit but I still haven't really played DQXI 😔 I got it for my 16th birthday in 2021 but I didn't really get too far as I was too upset to play it from my experiences with Dragon Quest fans back then (I'll partially admit fault as I was in a horrendous mental state back in 2021, but I'm more stable mentally now and moved on from that). I tried again over summer break but I got intimidated by the game's size and content, so on hold still. Maybe, just maybe I'll finally play it for myself.

Was struggling initially with this new fic I’m writing bc I was trying to find a way for Jasper to realistically explain his motivations to the king, seek forgiveness, and then go on to prove himself a better person bc he wants the forgiveness and approval (it’s all he’s ever had under Mordegon, after all 🥺).

And then it hit me: get into his head.

Truthfully he’d more likely be very up front about his crimes - and not exactly apologetic, but civil enough to communicate that - almost in a warning to Carnelian. Think: “no I am not a good man, - I will never be a good man, and it is not a given that you will ever be able to trust me. I have done bad things, and I expect—demand punishment”

Meanwhile the truth really is bubbling beneath the surface. He feels terrible—thinking he has crossed one line too far—but he’s nowhere near ready to address it. Far too easy to hide behind a veneer of “I made my bed, now I must lie in it”, and pretend like it doesn’t hit him right in the heart when the king says no punishment is coming, and he must simply aid in the reconstruction of Cobblestone - and all around him, little by little, as he allows himself to remember the man he once was, he sees people thaw and trust him again.

DQXI AU that was brought to me in a dream in which the Serenica reincarnation thing happened to Erdwin too, as in him being reincarnated in two bodies.

So Eleven has a twin brother no one knows about. This guy is just living his life somewhere in Erdrea, until the party met him while Eleven wasn't with them (for a reason I can't remember). He was sort of an asshole but they still befriended him, but moved on without telling Eleven about him because he had other stuff to deal with and they didn't think it was important.

This goes well until they face the first real challenges, because Eleven doesn't have the full power of the Luminary so for some reason they can't go any further and they're all like fuck what do we do now??

Rab and Jade figure out the reason rather quickly, which doesn't really help the overall situation a lot because they still don't know where the brother is or what he even looks like, or that the party does in fact know him. Said brother actually travelled along with them for a short time, but never thought anything of it either because for all he knows he's just a regular guy with some weird lightning magic. So for a while they keep up the fantasy quest equivalent of using your phone's flashlight to look for your phone until they eventually figure it out somehow and Eleven goes through the five stages of grief at once because not only does he have a brother, his friends have known him before he did, and he's been with them all along??

Anyway, he officially gets to join the group and the story proceeds as normal.

I got Dragon Quest Treasures for my birthday awhile ago as there was a 40% off deal so I seized the chance to buy it and play it for myself. Honestly not too bad of a game if I do say so myself.

I am thinking about making them a pair of Shinx (and Erik becomes a Luxray by the time for DQXI's events and Mia becomes a Luxio for that time too) for PMDQ, but I decided to draw my old furryverse versions of them but revamped cause I wanted to draw a pair of trash pandas. Furryverse Dragon Quest is separate from PMDQ.

I'm loving your AU so much! DQIX was my first DQ and I played it when I was a kid and I'm playing DQXI now and I'm finishing it for the first time. I was drawing and having thoughts about nine , have you heard the song "A Lot's Gonna Change" by Weyes Blood The lyrics are very good for thinking about nine just being the last one and them living out their centuries.

My music taste is exclusively two genres: Kamen rider themes and random ass game ost (currently blasting the entire ultrakill playlist) so I haven't, sorry. But thank you for the recommendation!! I'll definately give it a listen.

DQXI reset theory AU where the group stays in Octagonia for an unreasonably long time after saving Jade and the others in act II.

For the first few days, the party hadn't thought much of it; the past weeks had been an awful lot, they all need a break, and the Casino has some quite nice prizes. As more and more days pass, though, the party is starting to get a little worried. Eleven doesn't seem to want to get going again, gets visibly uncomfortable whenever they bring it up, even though he tries to hide it. It's strange and sort of concerning, but none of them can really figure out the reason and well, they have places to go, so naturally they won't just stop reminding him either.

And Eleven knows they're right, especially now that he has his powers back, but somehow, he can't bring himself to leave. They have something to do, his friends are starting to get suspicious, they really don't have time to lose- and yet he can only think about what awaits them in Sniflheim and Arboria. His friends don't remember, but he does, far too vividly. And he doesn't want to see the same pained emptiness as whenever he meets his reflection's eyes in those of his friends, not yet. The world may be ending, but in this place, things feel almost normal. Even though they're getting restless, his friends are enjoying themselves, too. They have been burdened by the fate of meeting him enough, they deserve a break, especially considering what's about to come. There is that distinct shine in their eyes, and Eleven knows that it won't return in a long time.

Or maybe that's just what he's telling himself. Maybe he just needs to hear it- he's doing it for them, there is nothing selfish about the decision to stay just a few days longer. He already failed to save Yggdrasil, Erdrea, Veronica; he really doesn't have the right to be selfish anymore.

But in the end, he knows that no matter how long they stay, things will always look the same. They will always find Mia in the same state, reunite with Serena at the same point, find Veronica in the same place. Because at that point, there's nothing he could do anymore, anyway.
