Got all my figures setup here for now! Socks was curious about what I was doing xD Whenever I finally get around to getting some shelving sorted I'll move them to a better spot.
There's a bunch of close ups of all my new ones and the other stuff my best friend got me from Japan below :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1: A monster hunter glasses cloth! 2: Physical copy of the pixel remasters for ff1-6!(I paid for this one. This version has pixel art of all the characters on the inside of the case as well :D) + FF4-6 on ps1 3: The little message on the inside of the ff4-6 collection. I have no idea what it says :D It also comes with a lovely manual as well full of cool art! 4: The discs of ff4-6 with stunning art from each of the games on them! 5: They went to the eorzea cafe and they got a little art card for each thing they ordered. This is about half of them. We split them so I got the ffxiv exclusive ones and he got the summons from ARR. There was 2 ifrits so I got the spare of that one :D 6: A dragoon job stone magnet that is already on my fridge :P 7: Paladin Cecil play arts figure! This is him from the original Dissidia game! IT ME TUMBLR NAME!!! 8: This one is for Socks. It's a cute little plate with a little kitty cook that I'm 100% calling a mh palico chef even if it isn't xD It's nice and shallow and is slightly raised so it's perfect for a cat food bowl! I'm going slow with it though cuz he's used the same plates for like 7 years now xD 9-15: The next 7 are all from the complete collection of volume 25 of the monster hunter blind boxes! There's Chaotic Gore Magala, Scorned Magnamalo, Bloodening Malzeno, Gold Rathian, Silver Rathalos, Giasmagorm, and finally each of the boxes the previous 6 came in all had these weird blue parts and when you put them together you get the special version of Giasmagorm! They all came with a little sticker as well :) 16: I forgot to take a picture of these setting them up cuz I'd already put them on my shelf when I got in last night xD We've got the silly monke Rajang :), Then there's Kirin that was my first introduction to the blind boxes from my friend jay a couple years ago, and finally A lil Palico from mh4u wearing khezu armour!
Overall a crazy amount of stuff and I love it all! I was expecting a single blind box, the final fantasy collection, pixel remaster, and the plate. I ended up with all this xD
He a real good friend :)

Ok. So regarding the Dawntrail trailer and hints dropped during Fan Fest so far, here are my best guesses about the two new Jobs and my train of logic leading to them.
Spoilers Ahoy under the cut!
1.) We've been told the two new jobs are Melee DPS and Ranged Caster DPS.
2.) That was a pretty Pirate-lookin' fit ol' Meteor had on.
3.) Corsair was a job in FFXI. It was a Ranged DPS/Support job that used a special gun and buffed allies using Dice and Card minigames.
4.) Astrologian kind of swiped the Card Game mechanic already. And honestly FFXIV's combat pacing wouldn't play comfortably with the FFXI Corsair blackjack minigame at all. If this job is Corsair, I'd imagine it's a radically different interpretation without the Gambler elements, or with those elements manifest in some new way.
5.) He was fighting using some kind of long knife or short sword, and I will bet my life that when his burlap hoodie got set on fire that was setting him up to fling it off dramatically and reveal some kind of something crazy with the other hand. Another weapon or a spell or something, who knows.
6.) I don't think this is the Caster DPS job. That would be way too similar to Red Mage. (However, he could still be preparing an ability that's defined as a Spell without actually being a Caster DPS - see Dark Knight and Reaper.) And the only time Meteor Survivor hasn't been a Melee job was in 1.0 when he was an Archer. I don't think that's a status quo that they're necessarily consciously trying to preserve, but melee fighting styles are much more common for the primary protagonists in a lot of heroic fantasy media, and I'm sure they have marketing people telling them what kinds of heroes get more eyes on the trailer.
7.) My bet is that he'll draw a gun. I'm gonna bet the Melee DPS job fights with a blade in one hand and a gun in the other. Maybe it uses the gun more heavily for AoEs, which often have longer range. Especially if it has a lot of Line AoEs like Dragoon, rather than the Radial or Radial/Cone mix AoEs other melee DPS have. Maybe it's a weird gun that does some kind of special trick shots... or maybe it's a very conventional flintlock pistol kind of deal, given that Gunblades, Machinist Guns, and Nouliths are all pretty out there in comparison.
8.) Of the three Melee DPS armor types, Scouting Armor is the only one that's currently exclusive to only a single class. And if I were to make a Pirate class, having it share armor with the Ninja class would scratch a 20 year old itch in my internet-poisoned brain. Also that knife looked light enough that using Dexterity for damage seems appropriate.
9.) Yoshi P was wearing a Ninja Turtles shirt. Which could be a reference to the combat styles of a specific turtle, but I doubt it. That seems too obvious for him. I think it's a two-part reference. Part 1 being to the Scouting Gear/Ninja connection I made above, and Part 2 being to the Turtles being named after Renaissance Artists.
10.) In the Heroes' Gauntlet dungeon, the bosses are all classes that aren't in the game but seem like likely candidates for branching classes that could have been planned at one point (before the balance headache of Scholar/Summoner sharing an Arcanist chassis talked them out of doing more of that), but the regular enemies are all classes that are present in FFXIV. Except for the Ink Mages.
11.) I think the Caster DPS class, referenced by the Ninja Turtles being named after Renaissance painters, will be some kind of Painter/Artist/Ink Mage, with AF gear inspired by Relm from FFVI.
So those are my guesses: Corsair and Ink Mage.
If I were a betting man I'd put this interpretation at around 75% odds. I'd put 20% odds on the Ninja Turtles shirt being a double-fakeout and the new Melee DPS uses a bo staff or nunchaku or something, and this time Meteor gets to be a Caster DPS for once, and actually they go whole hog on the Gambler stuff for Corsair but have them use knives this time to distinguish them from Machinists. I'd put 4% odds on something completely unrelated to any of these predictions, and I'd put 1% odds on Meteor's job in the trailer actually turning out to BE Ninja, and the big surprise is when he draws another dagger and reverses the grip on the one he's already holding, like Thancred in 2.4.

-Rating and gushing about every Wizard101 “World”/Arc-
Imma just gush about my month of Wizard101 and how I finally got to a close “end” of the game.
24/12 Edit: Fixed some typos here and there and added some stuff.
07/09 Edit: KI decided to fully revamp Wiz city also changing some lore so the rating on that is outdated. Might also put my thought of the new Wiz City there once I’m through all the new content.
Arc 1 - Malistaire - 10/10
Prob my favourite.
The writing really ties in every world, even when you speedquest through it.
Contains a lot of my favourite worlds.
I’m still crying over Mali to this day...
(Old) Wizard City - 10/10
Literally the introduction to the game and the place I spent most of my time in when I was a crownless and membershipless young wizard.
Do you want to farm Nightshade or Kraken?
That graphic revamp really punched.
Fave Places To chill: Nightside, Commons, Ravenwood, Cyclops Lane
Krokotopia - 11/10
This world made me fall in love with Wizard101
Egyptian aesthetic o-o
I was once a balance wizard you know?
Cries over the plot in the tomb of storms
Also KROKODILES
Fave Places To chill: Krokosphinx, School Of Balance
Marleybone - 10/10
I liked the Wizard version, but the Pirate version is more my jam.
Everyone is lookin dapper.
Home of the Doc- I mean Professor!
The whole worlds feels like Cats, but with dogs and the plot is Sherlock Holmes.
Barkingham Palace Gear o-o
Fave Places To chill: The Museum.
Mooshu 7/10
Japan and China vibes
Your usual warlord chaos
Everything is BRIGHT GREEN
It felt  S H O R T
Has pretty nice wand drops
Fave Places To chill: Jade Palace
Dragonspyre 12/10
This is what you get when you throw Roman aesthetic, Prussian History and a pinch of Russia into a pot.
The amount of subtle history references is making me listen to every line of dialogue I can get from this world.
D R A G O N S
Milos Bookwyrm is kinda a darlin
We kill Mali here :’)
Fave Places To chill: The Atheneum, wherever my battle drake chills
Arc 2 - Morganthe - 9/10
Has nice spots here and there.
Writing is still good, but a little less engaging.
Morganthe was so over the top “bad bitch” that it got annoying
Grandpappy spider was the saving grace of the arc
Celestia - 8/10
Solid world, story was kinda meh
ASTRAL MAGIC
Is this Skull Island??? Why are there water moles??? I thought they only exist in Skull Island????
Basically Atlantis
WAND OF STASIS
Fave Places To chill: Watermole Village
Zafaria - 8/10
Jambo Wizard!
The plot is Belloq and crazy tse-tse zebra ruining everyones day.
All they wanted was a nice zafari, all they got was misery and running into Morganthe worshippers.
Flameingo can’t take it anymore...
“Son I’m disappointed”
Fave Places To chill: Baobab Crown
Avalon - 9/10
Love it, but something is missing?
King Arthur, but you’re Arthur.
How to become a knight 101
FINALLY I CAN GET DEER KNIGHT
The source of Morganthes saltiness
Everyone is prob scared of me because I rode a battle badger during my stay...
Fave Places To chill: Caliburn
Azteca - 9.5/10
Hello and Bye...
I will never be able to do casual side questing here anymore...
The plot was nice, but you know, IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
Do not speedquest through this if you are a plot person, DO NOT
Cries over birb and dinosaur friends...
The music was the best part of it.
Fave Places To chill: N o w h e r e  a f t e r  t h a t  d a r n  m e t h e o r i t e, almost everywhere before that
Khrysalis - 9.8/10
L O O O O O N G
It was to be expected though
Mouse Guard vibes
The furniture sets for this suck and there is no proper furniture to obtain otherwise...
One Wizard Army (with the help of some deer friends) pls do not kill me for my bad word puns
I’d feel bad about how Morganthe ended, but after Azteca I really don’t have anything left for that whiny bitch...
A lot of people want my head...
Hello there hand- I mean hello there Spider.
Captain Colridge, if you had a pegleg I’d be 100% sure you’re ratbeard gone out of shape.
I love the dynamic changes to the Bastion once you progress
SHADOW MAGIC no one uses though because it’s not worth the pips and time
Fave Places To chill: Last Woods
Arc 3 - Spider And Raven - 6/10
Had solid concepts, kinda threw them out of the window
I do not like the writing in a majority of the arc
I think I was so disappointed, because I hyped these worlds up so much, the expectations did not meet reality
The ending was a no no
Plot was barely engaging
I only pushed through this for the concepts of Mirage and Polaris and wanted to see where Grandpappy Spider went
Polaris - 7/10
WAY TOO SHORT
You spent half of the time in the arcanum anyway
I don’t like Mellori, but that is just me
REVOLUTION TIME!
I don’t like that we had to throw a ship worth of fish into the sea, although they apparently still live? Somehow?
Everyone was at full right to overthrow the Empress though, she was horrible.
Where is Napoleguin???
RA RA RATSPUTIN, LOVER OF- wait  w h a t ? ? ?
I don’t like the Arcanum, but I guess I’ll be a part of it.
Fave Places To chill: Walruskberg, Captain Colridges Tavern
Mirage - 6.5/10
The more you hype, the more you’ll be disappointed...
Again the Spider part of the plot was good, the other was  e h
If I’m going to have to talk to another snobby over the top whiny cat I’m going to lose it.
Boochbeard, where is Mr. Gandry?
Bara Snakes.
Istar stop whining about bugs.
Ozzy you’re my best bud in this.
House themed GEAR, APARTMENTS and MOUNTS, but you gotta defeat a 100 enemies before that...
Love the world design though
THE MAGIC CARPET RIDE
Fave Places To chill: Caravan, anywhere you can wander through endless sand
Empyrea 4/10
This is what happens when you throw too many things together
S t a r  T r e k
Medulla shut up
The idea to have an isle in the eye of a storm is cool though
Zanadu was kinda meh (prob because I remember most of it just happening in a sewer)
That dance session though, Khan rocks
The dwarfes were also kinda meh, just didn’t fit with the concepts of the previous areas
Cthulu island was also kinda meh
Ending of the first half was literally Batman and although I know “The Bat” and “The cabal” it kinda came out of nowhere...
And then I pretty much lost interest in the world
The Reverie got me again, nice and fresh mechanics.
I will make a seperate rant on the ending, but no... I don’t like it at all and I don’t see Spider forgiving Raven as a good ending
Felt really forced
Hit some bad spots with me...
I thought we could fight Raven??? >:O
Fave Places To chill: Reverie
Arc 4 - idk what is going on
Karamelle ?/10
Ja moin, guten Tag allerseits.
Haven’t gotten there yet, but man, I’m not up for dictator Nana... :T
Spells look pathetic o k
If you try denglish one more time I’m going to lose it
At this point it’s obvious that KI has a thing for german speaking countries related stuff
Sentinel Marshmallows, do I have to say more?
Other Worlds
Grizzleheim - 8/10
Vikings
Forshadowing of Raven
It’s ok
Grendleweed
Wintertusk - 8/10
Even more Vikings
Grizzleheim 2.0, but everyone is op and crits
You need the spells, but you don’t want to do it
It’s been too long since I’ve last been there
Wysteria - 9/10
The original snob
At least these weren’t a pain to listen to...
Incompetent teachers make incompetent students.
That hall of fame though.
Actually a nice world to quest through
The aesthetic is nice and they kinda got the cooler library compared to Ravenwood, unless I’m missing out on something.
Fave Places To chill: The library
Aquila - 10/10
Birbs
Was a pain in Pirate, is wonderful in Wiz
SKY IRON HASTA
Secret bosses you seldom find people to fight with
Everyone is salty that you’ve beated them and they don’t even try to hide.
Hades got the best estate.
Cerberus was cute until he became a set of floating heads.
Fave Places To chill: Tartarus
Darkmoor - 9.5/10
“Who hits?” - “Everyone” - *person who asked decides to leave the dungeon*
This happened to me 7 times in a row an U G H
People need to calm down their hitter ego
The dungeons are fun the first times, then they are just an annoyance to farm.
Plot is the Ballad Lenore
GO TO REST MALI
Hit in 5 rounds or say bye bye to your blades
No Feints
Catacombs 11/10
D r a g o n s p y r e  L o r e
Valencia, what are you doin there?
Basically KI’s punch in the face of Pirate101 players
“Oh you want an update? Guess you gotta watch how we recycle Valencia in Wiz”
Dragoon gear - Just like Darkmoor, but this time your suffering has a certain end
Also no exp on your quests?

Adamance of a Dragon
Collaborator: @i-am-here-with-fanfic.
Rating: T; I am too tired for this.
Word Length: 2,138
Chapter 7: So, It Begins
Author’s Note: Terribly sorry about the delay and apparent inactivity. It has been a... curious few months. Fortunately, I am back. And I intend on staying, my filthy heathens.
                                                       _________
“Amazing… I’ve never seen a Quirk like yours so up close. I mean, I’ve seen some heroes who have Quirks that allow them to use magic or have mythological references but they’re usually vigilantes and most of them happen to be European or in the Americas due to the media coverage although there’s the Dragoon Hero but-”
“Deku, you’re muttering again. It’s honestly kinda creepy.” Uraraka mentioned as we ate our lunches.
My little clover was quite the adept interviewer; he had been asking me questions about my Quirk every chance he got since the deal we made before homeroom. My interest was piqued when I suggested an equal trade of knowledge regarding our Quirks and that seemed to rattle him as he began spewing excuses. It was…
           Curious.
Instead, we settled on my answering any question he asked me regarding my Quirk within a twelve-hour time period and, in exchange, I was allowed to read through all thirteen notebooks of his. My little clover was ecstatic, especially when he learned of how the trade works. While his questions were open and any one can understand them, my answers could be heard by Midoriya Izuku alone; to anyone else it was as though I did not say a word.
A similar effect would happen when my little clover recorded my answers in his notebook. Were Uraraka and Iida to attempt to look over at his journal and ‘sneak a peek’, all they would see were strange scribbles; however, it appeared as his own writing to Midoriya. He was indeed free to share that information if he desired, and the writing would become clear to those who know of my Quirk, like Aaron.
Also, I did have to revert to my natural form to make the deal and stay in it for as long as our deal lasts, which startled a few of our classmates. Many of their reactions were warranted, although being referred to as a ‘winged devil’ by Mineta was a phrase I…have become accustomed to, as unfortunate as that may be; however, there were a few compliments, which was… Well, it was certainly welcome, to be honest. Praise was not given lightly back in the college, and I was expected to perform exceptionally in spite of my young age.
           Especially because of my age.
Either way, I had handled the comments by my classmates quite well. Assuming my backing into a corner and trying to quell the stream of questions aimed towards my appearance as I tried not to knock anything or anyone over with my wings and tail counts as ‘handled well’. Fortunately, Aizawa arrived and ordered us to get into our seats.
“I think that covers everything…” My little clover trailed off as he looked at the filled pages.
           “Of course. I shall-”
“Oh!” My little clover exclaimed. “I completely forgot to ask about the magic part of your Quirk; I spent all my time on your Quirk mutations and draconic abilities! Magic type Quirks are already rare, but to have one with your dragon Quirk is crazy! What sort of magic are you capable of using? Or do you have your favorite types that are better suited for certain conditions? And what sort of energy do you use to power it? Is it life energy, or mana, or do you have something-?”
Iida quickly cut Midoriya off, trying to establish some sense of order as he rambled query after query, not giving me a moment to respond. “Midoriya, please. I’m certain you have many more questions, but Nadal does need some time in between each to give you an adequate answer.”
“Several things: Firstly, Iida, while I do appreciate and understand your intentions, do not ever speak on my behalf. As for the questions, our deal was that I would answer every question Midoriya has until 7:52 tonight, so long as it pertains to my Quirk. Unfortunately, I am afraid we will have to continue another time, Midoriya.”
With that, I took my leave, much to the confusion of the trio; I had a few different errands to run before lunch ended.
I deposited a small note in Aaron’s locker to notify him that I will pick him up after school by the main gate.
I stopped by the principal’s office to drop off my application for work-study.
           Finally, I…
There was a small rune etched into the door to the 1-A classroom. It was the Celtic symbol for ‘vital fire’ and ‘fate’, “Nyd”. It was jarring to see her call sign here. Of course, while incredibly important to me, it was just that.
           Important to me.
With a simple snap of my fingers, the rune disappeared, and I entered the empty classroom with a single thought in mind, ‘Soon…’
                                                       _________
“Oh, gods no.” I muttered as All Might proceeded with the lesson.
We were all dressed in our hero costumes in preparation for the first lesson in hero training. Of course, as we were exiting the classroom with our costumes, All Might requested I ‘hang back for a moment.’ As with Aizawa during the apprehension test, I received different instructions. Rather than participate in the ‘Battle Trials’, I would offer insight on every match, helping to mark my classmates and provide advice on how they could better themselves in future lessons.
No doubt making use of my previous experience in hero work, as well as the fact that I may or may not be less than keen on cooperation.
“Now then! Before we begin with the first trial, I’d like to show you noobies a recording of a similar exercise to give you an idea on what is expected of you! I’m certain you may recognize at least one of the students in it!” All Might’s voice boomed as he played the recording I dreaded.
It was of a simple training exercise the principal had me undergo in autumn last year with some of the second-year hero students. Honestly, I do not recall their names as readily as I should. Even with the recording, all I could remember was the odd trio of blond, periwinkle, and indigo hair.
There was nothing spectacular about the mock battle, considering the second years had just recently gotten their provisional licenses and had barely begun training similar to what I had experienced. Our two opponents had a fighting style that heavily relied on melee combat while my ally for the match was long range, and my preference for mid-to-long range battle gave us the upper hand.
Once the recording ended, All Might began the trials, and I began my analysis...
After reprimanding him for being so careless with the first trial. Not even the most grizzled of professors back in the States would ever be so careless with their students; however, U.A. and Japan are vastly different from the college and America.
The trials went by rather quickly, and some of my classmates attempted to converse with me. Admittedly, I did enjoy the company.
Yaoyorozu was amiable and our shared insight was praised by All Might.
Shouji was fairly interested in some of my abilities that were shown in the video, and Tokoyami was fascinated (enthralled?) by my navy and crimson wings, and the four horns sprouting from my head. Although, he did mistake my scales for being black.
As usual, Todoroki was distant, but he did compliment my costume. He may have regretted it, though, as I immediately had to stifle a laugh when I first saw his.
Asui was also rather friendly, and she was much more understanding about my reservations. We were even touted as ‘Blank Stare Pair’ given our base facial expression.
I did not enjoy the company of Kaminari nor Kirishima; they were much to boisterous and handsy for my liking. Obviously, Mineta was less than respectable. And may or may not have a bruise on the back of his head after his blatant ogling of several of the female members of the class.
In short, a fairly enjoyable afternoon. Of course, it did not last. Bakugou essentially threw a tantrum and barged out of the classroom some time after we finished the trials. As if on cue, Midoriya arrived from Recovery Girl’s office and then confronted Bakugou outside. It appeared to be a personal dilemma, so I avoided listening to their conversation as best I could. Until Midoriya confessed he obtained his Quirk from someone else.
While it did pique my curiosity quite a bit, my attention remained elsewhere. I still have no idea why Aria requested I fly Aaron home and stay. Nor did I forget about the message from her, and what it entails.
This is certainly turning out to be an intriguing day.
                                                       _________
           “Who… who is my dad?”
Aria looked down at her feet, trying to find her words. Finally meeting Aaron’s gaze, she answered the question he seemingly longed for. “Aaron… Your father… His name is Toshinori Yagi, better known as the Symbol of Peace- All Might.”
I had to catch Aaron, his knees buckling from the revelation of his parentage. I helped him to the table, and Aria quickly embraced him, crying into his shoulder. After taking a few moments to fully comprehend the situation at hand, I heaved a long sigh as I realized what I must do.
“I am not one for speaking when it is not desired, but I cannot, and shall not, lose another family. Mother, you clearly know you have done something awful, that alone is admirable, and you have spent so many years trying to right that wrong. It shows. I do not think Aaron would have wanted to model himself after you if you did not atone for your sin.”
My arms were open, and my lips donned a small, soft smile. Aria slowly stood up, her hand resting on Aaron’s shoulder for a few seconds before she leaned into my embrace, her head resting against my chest. I looked at Aaron, who stared blankly at the table.
“Brother. I do not pretend to know what you must be going through. My parents may have been heroes, and my great grandmother instrumental in normalizing Quirks; however, your father is a symbol. That is not to be taken lightly, but please understand that you do not need to follow in his footsteps. I think Mum has made that clear over the years.”
Soon, Aaron joined us in the hug, and we remained that way for some time.
“No matter what stories we may weave, or the tales we may spin, there is no fathomable way to avoid the truth. We must accept it, and while it may render us apart, it is only temporary. We are indomitable, and we will continue to grow and learn and better ourselves in ways we cannot begin to imagine. I have no doubt that we will have our share of disagreements but know this- For so long as my heart beats, it beats for the two of you.”
I had no more words to say, and I did not need to say anything else. Once we had the time to compose ourselves, I suggested Aaron spend the night with me. He would need some time away to figure stuff out. Aria agreed and went to go pack a bag for him, and I finished the brownies she asked me to make, leaving some for her as I put the rest in a parcel for Aaron and me.
After finishing packing for him, Aria drove us to my house, saying goodbye and that she will pick him after school the next day. As we entered my house, Aaron spoke for the first time since learning about his father.
“I forgot to tell her I love her…”
           “Aaron…”
“Do you think she loved him? I mean, really loved him. She’s a huge fan, but I… I don’t know…”
I gave him another hug to reassure him that all will be well. Leading him upstairs to the guest bedroom, I suggested he bathe before getting some sleep. Planting a small kiss on his forehead and wishing him a ‘pleasant night’, I left him to his thoughts.
Retreating to my bedroom, I showered and changed into my sweats and long sleeve. Once I was certain that Aaron was asleep, I made my way to the study. As I entered the room, my eyes scanned across the bookshelves burdened with books and mementos. I stood underneath the projector that hung from the ceiling, steadying my breath and focusing intently, my eyes tightly closed.
A large magic circle came to life beneath my feet, slowly spinning and casting an ethereal glow of gold and silver throughout the room as my eyes shone with raw magical energy.
Unbeknownst to me, neither Aaron, Aria, nor myself got any sleep tonight.

Nintendo Round-Up
Smash Ultimate: As everyone expected, the guy from Dragon Quest 11 made it in, and I”m assuming his shadows are the protags from most of the other DQ games. I’d be more excited if that wasn’t like... 7 more sword characters. E N O U G H. Should have put a slime in instead. Also it really shows you how DQ just has no vested interest in making a lady hero, which is bullshit. Also they ended the conference with Banjo and Kazooie being revealed as a new fighter. I’m happy for them. u v u
DQ11 Switch Port: Oooh, so the pixel areas are you traveling to different DQ worlds? That’s pretty cool.
Luigi’s Mansion 3: It looks cute, and I really like the plunger attachment. But I can’t help but think that while Gooigi is adorable and a nice co-op option, that Nintendo is low key knowingly venturing into more kink areas.
Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics: I Like the Dark Crystal and tactical RPGs, but this looks a little... bad. I hope it’s not, but movie games are usually... yeah.
Link’s Awakening: Fuck the naysayers, the art style is SO GOOD. I don’t... really understand the “make your own dungeon” mechanic. I thought it was going to be so other people can explore your dungeons, but you go in your own? And get treasure? Maybe it’ll grow on me.
Trials of Mana: Looks good! The other 3 games in the series got ported too, which is nice.
Witcher 3 Port
Three Houses: Okay, okay, okay. So there’s like... two timelines? One in the past where you’re teaching everyone and one in the present (?) where everyone is fighting? That’s way cooler than I was expecting. Still hate the dragon loli. Still hope you, as Byleth, can date the other characters in the present timeline.
Resident Evil 5 & 6 Port
No More Heroes 3: YAAAAY! I can’t wait to see what crazy shit is going to come out of this one!
Contra Rogue Corps: I don’t care about Contra, but I’m glad they don’t seem to be taking themselves too seriously.
Daemon x Machina: I still have no idea what this game is about. It looks like Xenoblade, but with more mechs and vehicles. Which could be good, but I still have my reservations.
Panzer Dragoon: The graphics are real nice. I think people were waiting for this, so I’m glad they got it.
Pokemon: Stop. Making. Hot. Characters. What the fuck.
Astral Chain: So the protags are being forced to forge a mental link of sorts with the invading chimeras, which in turn forces the chimera to work for them. That’s hella shady, but it looks like the game is going to address how shitty that is. I’m wondering if you’re going to end up looking for your sibling in the chimera realm a la “I know they’re still alive!” Wonder if they’re going to end up being the big bad after being stuck in the chimera realm.
Empire of Sin: It’s another top down shooter, but as it’s using a 40′s mobster aesthetic it’s infinitely superior.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Crypt of the Necrodancer:  Cadence of Hyrule
Mario and Sonic At the Olympic Games: Rail grinding like SA2B is honestly all I wanted from this game. Thank you for delivering, Sega and Nintendo.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Finally! I love the new take on the graphics: everything looks so cozy and pick-up-able. If they have a crafting system, that’s one step away from a cooking system SO I’M STILL HOLDING OUT HOPE THAT THERE IS ONE. Pole vaulting looks real neat and better than praying you get a bridge in an advantageous spot. I don’t know how the deserted island angle is going to play out, but I’m excited to see where it goes. Also “nookphone”? That sounds cool! I wonder what mechanics come with that.
Other Games:
Spyro 2
Hollow Knight Silksong
Ni no Kuni 2
Minecraft Dungeons
Elder Scrolls Blades
My Friend Pedro
Doom Eternal
The Sinking City
Wolfenstein Youngblood
Dead By Daylight 2 (?)
Alien Isolation
Crystal Chronicles Port
DQ Builders 2
Some Pixel Game Whose Logo Was Impossible To Read
Just Dance 2020
Catan
Super Lucky’s Tale 2
Dauntless
Super Mario Maker 2
Breath of the Wild Sequel: It looks hella creepy; I’m here for that! I wonder if you can play as Zelda this time around. I can’t imagine why not outside of the devs being boring.
Final Verdict:

Press: Emilia Clarke, on the Hollywood throne
The original article is in French and I just used Google to translate it so it might not be 100% correct.
THE PARISIAN WEEKEND. As she is currently shooting the latest episodes of the Game of Thrones series , the actress is on the new Star Wars saga . Meeting with a feminist who knows how to assert herself.
On the third floor of the chic New York Edition, in the heart of Manhattan. Pink complexion, luscious lips and eyebrows provided, a small silhouette of 1.57 meters advances towards us. British actress Emilia Clarke , 31, breaks the screen in Solo: A Star Wars Story . This tenth film stamped Star Wars , in theaters on May 23, focuses on the youth of Han Solo, cult character of the intergalactic saga.
His name may not tell you much. The actress is best known for playing, since 2011, Daenerys Targaryen (aka “Khaleesi” or “Mother of the Dragon”), one of the main roles of the medieval-fantasy series Game of Thrones .
For those who have never looked at it, booster shot. Daenerys, fallen heiress, reduced to slavery by a band of savages, will gradually free himself from his chains by taking the lead of an army of oppressed. The episodes follow one another and the young woman, a fine military strategist, asserts herself as a leader of men and dragons (yes, yes). His goal: to run for the famous Iron Throne.
“To embody this character, it really gave me confidence,” she says. Surrounded by her “court” – makeup artist, hairdresser, stylist and press officer ready to respond to any of her desires – Emilia Clarke, stern look, seems to have been impregnated with the imperial charisma of her double on the screen.
This natural brunette even sports, for a few months, immaculate blonde hair , like his character! But the Game of Thrones adventure will stop soon. The last episodes of the series are currently being watched and will be broadcast from April 2019.
“I will soon have to find out who I am without Daenerys. It’s very exciting ! She enthuses. Her dreams ? One day play a female James Bond and share the poster with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Emilia Clarke has ambition. It goes back to childhood. The young woman grew up in the countryside of Berkshire County, between Oxford and London. His father is a sound engineer for musicals. His mother climbed the ladder of a consulting firm. “He gave me his artistic fiber, he taught me to sing and play several instruments. She gave me her character as a lioness, “she says proudly.
The desire to become an actress comes to him very small. At home, she watches over romantic comedies with Audrey Hepburn. She follows her brother to St Edward’s School, a private school in Oxford. A “different” pupil, Emilia does not find her place among her comrades “who all dream of becoming lawyers”. She then postulates at several schools of drama. What refusals!
The young woman leaves a few months traveling in Asia, then retries her chance. She is finally admitted to Drama Center London, one of the most prestigious British theater schools, from which Colin Firth and Michael Fassbender, among others, have come out.
“This training is very demanding. It prepares you to face an industry that does not forgive mistakes, “she says. Nicknamed the “Trauma Center”, this establishment has the reputation of pushing its students in their entrenchments. It is mostly played roles of old lady or prostitute. Obstinate, Emilia Clarke graduated in 2009.
His first year out of school is difficult. She gets a role in Triassic Attack (2010), a TV movie series Z broadcast on the channel Syfy, but has to chain the jobs of waitress or employee in a call center to pay his rent … It speaks then an audition for “a series with dragons”. The producers are looking for a blonde and slender actress. She is dark and not very tall.
Without really believing, she does some research on Google to learn about Game of Thrones , the literary work of a certain George RR Martin . The creators of the series are finally seduced by her spontaneity, her humor – Emilia Clarke embarked on a “chicken dance” during her audition – and her strength of character.
The first season of Game of Thrones airs in 2011. It earns the actress the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a drama series. Then Emilia Clarke gets noticed in two discrete British films: Spike Island (2012), Mat Whitecross, a comedy drama never released in France, and Dom Hemingway (2013), Richard Shepard, a crazy thriller where she plays alongside of Jude Law.
Nudity on the screen, a sensitive subject
Game of Thrones , whose popularity is growing year by year, is at the center of the debate. Praised for her female characters who lead men by the nose, the series is also labeled “machismo”, especially for its tendency to strip her heroines, Daenerys – and therefore Emilia Clarke – in the lead.
However, when asked the young actress, elected “Sexiest Woman of the Year” by Esquire magazine in 2015, his opinion on the issue is the radio silence. His press officer even orders us to change the subject. We touched a chord.
She who expressed herself willingly a few years ago decided to say nothing more. No doubt she keeps in mind that in 2013, when she walked the Broadway boards in the room Breakfast at Tiffany’s , the critics had much more talked about the time when she entered naked in his bath that his performance .. .
Anxious not to be stowed in a box, she even declined to star in the series Fifty Shades of Gray (2015) because of her too many sex scenes. And has reduced his naked appearances in Game of Thrones as the seasons, when it was not replaced by a lining.
  Better paid than a man
Emilia Clarke prefers to mention her commitments. Anti-Trump assumed, the English spoke against the Brexit and posted on his Instagram account a message of support to the British Labor Party. A convinced feminist, she confirmed that she chose to choose independent women’s roles. In Terminator: Genisys (2015), she plays, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sarah Connor, rebel icon of the saga. And in the romantic movie Avant toi (2016), she plays a fanciful and determined young woman.
“Feminism is leading the life I want without being defined by my gender. I think that if we say “no” to films that do not give enough space to women, they (producers, Ed) will stop doing, “she says.
Emilia Clarke, with a character to say the least, is formidable in business. For her role in Terminator: Genisys , she would have been better paid than Schwarzy … and would have received more than 10 million dollars for his participation in the season 7 of Game of Thrones ! Without confirming these rumors, she concedes with a laugh: “I am a good negotiator! ”
Next project for her, creating her own production box. “As soon as I finish Game of Thrones , I put myself in it,” promises the one who is already writing a screenplay. After the dragoons, Emilia Clarke intends to tame Hollywood.

My Likes and Dislikes for Sonic Forces
Likes:
The story, with its dark tone and mostly cohesive narrative, for me ranks up there as one of the best in the series. It’s tied with Unleashed currently as my 5th favorite Sonic story.
The supporting cast is superb and everyone in it are the most in character they have been since practically forever. Knuckles being the biggest example of this.
The gameplay is good, fun, and enjoyable across all four playstyles, though some are more fun than others.
The Avatar concept and how they were handled in the story with their own character growth arc.
The character creation is huge and has plenty of clothing options and physical features and is pretty great. Would really like to see it again in a spinoff game of sorts.
Eggman’s characterization was great and is at his most threatening and darkest in the series. Crusherthedoctor’s recent post on his portrayal explains this point well.
The voice cast brought their A game and have greatly exceeded expectations. Hopefully they will be able to keep up this kind of performance in the future.
Warren Graff actually did a decent to good job with translation, as both scripts are practically 1:1 with each other, with only a few things left out or mistranslated.
The music is amazing, though I know for some the amount of synth/techno is annoying, personally I think all the tracks are good to awesome. Another thing is how the all of the vocal tracks specifically tie into the themes of the story, which hasn’t been done since at least Black Knight.
Infinite. Just. Infinite.
The different changes and remixes to classic levels was a pretty cool idea and was done pretty well.
The fact that Forces and Mania are actually connected and tie into each other is a great idea and I hope that Sonic Team keeps doing more in depth continuity things like that.
Mind control wasn’t a factor or used here and that is a very good thing. Especially in the case of Shadow.
The Wispons are fun to use and are a big part of why the Avatar stages are so good to me.
The fact that Sega/Sonic Team are actually branching out into story driven DLC for the first time with Sonic, as well as slowly making other characters playable again.
On that note, Playable Shadow.
The character dialogue in the radio chatter mostly as well as in the cutscenes is really enjoyable. Everyone almost always has something important to say that fits with the events of the plot.
Dislikes:
The story has a moderate case of “Tell, don’t Show”, which brings it down a fair bit. It really could have used a few more cutscenes to really bring the ideas and plot points it was trying to make together.
Levels are too short and needed to be longer.
Classic Sonic didn’t serve much of a point other than to add another playstyle to the game. I know the his addition was probably set in stone long before Mania, but I feel they should have just left him out of it and just had the Phantom Ruby teleport to Forces at the end without Classic.
Sonic and especially Tails characterizations were wack and a bit off at times. Sonic’s is more forgivable since shrugging off (or at least pretending to) mental trauma is sort of his thing. But they still should have made more of a bigger deal about him being captured and tortured and should have shown the effect that had on him. Tails is much worse and this has been going on since probably Unleashed or longer. Hopefully these issues get addressed and fixed in a later story.
Not enough enemy variety, it was mostly just the same robots throughout the game. There really should have been different robots Eggman had to have made during his reign over the planet.
The difficulty was markedly rather easy, even on Hard mode.
Sega needs to not use any more returning levels and bosses after this game, this also includes the Wisps. It was tolerable here, but I don’t think the fandom can take much more of seeing Green Hill, Chemical Plant, the Death Egg, and so on after Forces, same goes for seeing bosses like the Egg Dragoon and the Wisps for the fifth time.
There wasn’t an option to change the height and body type of the custom characters, which is a damn shame. More species would have been nice too.
The last Infinite boss was a let down. I was expecting Infinite to go really crazy with the Phantom Ruby like he did during the Avatar’s Metropolis City stage, but he didn’t.
The “Is Classic Sonic from the Past or an actual other Dimension?” kerfuffle that still hasn’t been solved.
No (fake) Shadow or Chaos fight.
Why aren’t there more Wispons? I thought that the achievements stated that there were over 50 wispons? Why are there only six? It seems like a cop out to only have six (technically 7) actual wispons and have the rest just be upgrades to them. We could have had a Rocket Wisp rocket launcher or a Cyan sniper rifle wispon.
Misc.:
These are various likes, dislikes, and mehs that I found not too big of a deal to put into the major ones.
D: Wish there was some way they could have incorporated actual, full on voice acting for the custom characters/avatars. With the ability to pick your voice like in Mass Effect.
M: I wish that the Avatar had a super form, or better yet, a Phantom Ruby powered form to fight Infinite with.
D: Why do they need to make a fake Metal Sonic? Couldn’t Eggman just use the real one?
D: I wish the forgotten Sonic characters were in this.
D: I wish there were more enemies in the final battle scene besides the known illusions, like other anthros working for Eggman either of their own free will or via force and other robots made by Eggman.
L: The return of “Long time no see”
L: That Jackals, Wolves, Dogs, and Bears are now officially canon Sonic species.
M: The Chaos Emeralds weren’t in the game. Would have liked a brief explanation about why no one used them in the story but it’s not that big of a deal so eh.
M: Dark Sonic wasn’t in it or made canon and neither was Hyper Sonic
M: Cream, Vanilla, and Gemerl weren’t in it.
M/D: Blaze wasn’t in it. They could have found a way to include her in there, I’m sure.
L: Some of Adventure’s plot points were brought up again.
L: That creepy chestburster moment during the final boss.
L: Those creepy giant, twisted Infinite abominations.
D/M: Sonic wasn’t the leader of the Resistance. I still think they could have really made a great character arc for him in Forces if they had made him the leader. But I;m still glad they made Knuckles leader since he got some much needed character rerailment and him being the leader helped with that.
M: No Sonamy unfortunately
L: I like the little cube figure manifestations that appear when ever you have the Asteroid wispon equipped.
D: The final phase of the boss apes too much off of Sonic Colors’ final boss. It’s an okay fight all things considered, but I would have liked it if it had a more unique fighting style.
M: Some of the locations in the game have been changed from where they’ve been traditionally in Sonic lore, such as Green Hill being in the middle of a continent instead of being in South Island. This kinda irks me but it’s nothing that really ruins the story.
If I were to give Forces a rating, despite how dumb scores have become and how they’re abused and used arbitrarily by gaming media to put more or less value and worth on a game as a crappy shorthand measuring stick for what people would enjoy, I would give it objectively 7-7.5/10 and for my personal score 8/10.
It is a fun, enjoyable game. It’s not as good as Generations gameplaywise, but that doesn’t make it unplayable or not enjoyable in the slightest. Don’t buy into the ever constant Sonic Hatebandwagon and give it a shot if you want a high speed platforming experience. If you’re more a Mario style platformer fan, aren’t fond of the boost style gameplay, or don’t like a more serious toned Sonic game, I suggest skipping it.

@theshatteredrose Here it is, the main party of the Astral Guild! Doing this as a post because I’ll probably ramble like whooooa.
Setti, Earthlain Pugilist ‘Master Duellist’
First downloadable School Uniform Male portrait, black hair, very blue eyes, Scholarly voice.
Very much the brains of the operation.
Played a big role in my third ‘throw it at the wall and see what sticks’ team becoming my primary/only team.
Bisexual and proud of it. Once sang ‘Getting Bi’ from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend to the entire bar after Zhao decided to get him drunk. Is in love with Merry, Zhao and Cyril and is working out how to have a polyamorous relationship inbetween punching out monsters.
Can go from full on nerd-geeking over something interesting to punching an FOE and back to geeking without missing a beat.
Zhao, Therian Masurao ‘Divine Blade’
First default male Masurao portrait, black hair, dark blue eyes. Lazy voice.
Inspired by the Dynasty Warriors 7 portrayal of Sima Zhao; brilliant, strong, lightning fast and lazy as all hell.
Wound up as the single-blade-high-crit master class, and I have not regretted a single second of it. His crits are obscene.
Is either bisexual or pansexual, really couldn’t care enough to work out the full details. Guys are hot. Girls are hot. Everyone is hot. Awesome.
Lives to see uptight people finally letting loose, even if that means occasionally spiking his guildmates drinks after a rough time.
He will happily hunt down and utterly destroy anyone who hurts his team. No matter who they are. Took on a whole nest of Toxipedes single-handed because they ruined one of Merry’s jumpers and made them cry.
Could be ridiculously good at tactics if he felt like it, but they have Setti for that!
Is 100% down for Setti’s ‘let’s ALL be a couple’ plan. Has slept with pretty every guild member except Eldore - married - and Morgan and Saka - married lesbians.
Eldore, Earthlain Dragoon, ‘Lord Protector’
First older male Dragoon portrait, dark grey hair, brown eyes. Hardened voice.
The hardened voice was such a good choice for him, seriously, he sounds like a grumpy old bastard who will smash you in the face with his shield.
Because he is.
Has a wife and kids back in Iorys and is mostly doing the whole Yggdrasil thing as a last hurrah/moneymaker before he retires full time.
Used to be a guardsman and pretty much harassed his captain into letting him use guns. Thus was the lord high grumpypants born.
His team are his kids too. He’s not their dad but they are very much his kids. Do not hurt his kids, he will shoot you.
Abuses the living hell out of Decoy Bunker and Auto-Bunker.
Is the only member of Astral who can cook.
Cyril, Celestrian Warlock, ‘Elementalist’
First default male Warlock portrait, white hair, red eyes. Villain voice.
As soon as I heard the villain voice I had to make him. Star Ocean 2′s original Ten Wise Men were amazing and Cyril was particularly evil and enjoyable.
He is a crazy sumbitch and he loves every single second of it.
Sadly he cannot do the whole ‘receive the Wind of Destruction!’ thing his namesake does but he can still tear shit up like nobody’s business.
He has been known to bite people to get the last Amrita, especially during boss fights.
Has fallen in love with the Fetid Necropolis and plans to take it over and hire lots and lots of Necromancers to turn it into his perfect evil fortress.
Very, very gay. Is on Egar’s watch list because he wants to seduce Prince Ramas and kidnap him to his perfect evil fortress of Necromancers.
Merry, Brouni Botanist, ‘Queen Herbalist’
First DLC jumper girl portrait, red hair, green eyes. Reserved voice.
I wasn’t going to buy any DLC portraits but then I saw her and Setti-schoolboy and HAD to. I am shamed. At least it’s not as bad as EOU2′s hot springs DLC!
Genderfluid, wears her hair in pigtails, his hair in a ponytail. Is mostly called ‘they’ by people who don’t know them well enough to be 100% sure which gender they are that day.
LOVES plants like crazy, their room at Jenetta’s inn is filled with small pot plants and herb planters on every available surface. Do not enter if you have plant-based allergies.
Gets crushes and infatuations very easily but rarely allows themself to go further in a relationship. Is... not at all sure what to make of three people wanting to be in a relationship with them at all!
But they DO like everyone else back so that’s certainly a thing.
They LOVE big fuzzy warm jumpers and will poison anyone or anything that ruins them. Except Toxipedes, Zhao had to deal with them.

10 - Alesha, Who Smiles at Death
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNN!
Tumblr media
I’ve been waiting for this one for a while. Oh yea.
After Akuta, we need a good commander to wash out the ashy taste. And Alesha, boy does she deliver.
Our Alesha will be a budget reanimator deck. As always, budget is a relative term, but most of our cards will be draft fodder and bulk rares. Mixed in are some reanimation that costs a couple of bucks. I’ll list the cards for each section (purpose, price, and other factors).
Budget includes bulk rares (usually under $0.75). Modest priced cards are $0.75 to $2.50. Pricey is from $2.50 to $7.50, and above that is expensive. (Again, looking at you Sword of Body and Mind). You’ll only need the budget and modest cards to make the core of the deck, but more expensive options should be considered for upgrades later on, or to include if you already have them.
ALSO!
This looks like my longest post yet, so I’m hoping I did okay. Hope it’s a decent primer for getting to know Alesha.
Tumblr media
LORE:
(special thanks to @alesha-who-smiles-at-memes for helping me with this)
Alesha was the last Khan of Mardu, before Sarkhan the A*hole ruined a perfectly nice plane with a bunch of damn flying lizards. That’s about it. Kolaghan was chill at the time, and said “Yo Alesha, lets work together.” And they did.
Later Kolaghan would turn out to be a huge jerk and go crazy over her brood. They lost their Mardu name, became cannibals, etc. And worst of all, Dragonlord Kolaghan is awful in EDH.
But back to Alesha.
The Mardu Horde was heavily based off the Mongol Hordes, with effective raiding strategies and usage of horse archers (and lightning magic. Slight advantage over the Mongols). When a Mardu warrior made their first kill in battle, they chose a new name emblematic of what they do (see Zurgo Helmsmasher) Raid and Dash rewarded aggressive plays.
Alesha is the only khan to not submit/die to the dragons (as mentioned above). Notably, she’s a human transgender woman, who chose her name after her grandmother. The Mardu care less for traditional gender roles/identities, and are more of the mind “we judge you based on what you do.”
THE CARD:
Tumblr media
The lady, the legend. On her own, a 3/2 first striker for 2R is solid.
Then you look at her ability. Phew. Now that is some text.
We get Mardu color identity and Power =< 2 resurrection and quasi haste for   2*(W/B). Now that’s power.
She’s also human and warrior. Not sure what tribal stuff would justify being put in, but there’s gotta be someone out there.
BUILDS:
Alesha enables a lot of builds, but usually revolves around the graveyard. Death and taxes, good old aristocrats, and self-mill and recur. Alesha is just so versatile, with such fun colors, you gotta get a copy.
This build is neapolitan. It doesn’t really run any combos, but has multiple ways to fill the ‘yard - sac outlets, discards, self-milling - some aristocrat stuff to take advantage. Basically an Alesha value build that can be taken to more combo-oriented wins, or combat-oriented.
Heck, there’s Alesha Voltron builds. Skies the limit. Here we go.
BATTLE PLAN:
Resurrection, resurrection for days.
Every Alesha deck wants to play with recursion, so I’ll just go with that, leaving spicier builds to those most familiar with her (I myself use her solely as a budget commander).
We need things that are generally CMC >= 3 (to make Alesha’s ability a discount) and Power <= 2 (to work with the ability).
To help, we want discard engines, sac effects, Entomb - style effects, and recursion independent of Alesha (like Reanimate).
(1) Reanimation Targets
I’m going to do an itemized list here. Gonna be long. Here we go.
White
Angel of Invention - Modest price; comes in as a anthem at 4/3 spread over one or three bodies.
Tumblr media
Karmic Guide - Modest price; recursion, and it kills itself to be used again.
Knight-Captain of Eos - Modest; and gives you a Fog on command, and some bodies for sac’ing. Also a sac outlet for soldiers.
Sensor Splicer - Budget; brings a token to the field with it.
Blade Splicer - Modest; token generator, Sensor’s big sister
Urbis Protector - budget; token generator
Azorius Justicar - budget, pacifies potential defenders that’ll block your team
Custodi Soulbinders - budget; The first of our 0/0 creatures that enters with a swarm of +1/+1 tokens. This guy also makes extra spirits as a mana dump.
Aven Cloudchaser - budget; toolbox for enchantment destruction (replaceable with any creature that ETB destroys enchantment, like Soltari Visionary)
Palace Jailer, Fiend Hunter, Fairgrounds Warden, Banisher Priest - all budget; all act as Oblivion Ring for creatures. You can do sacrifice shenanigans with the Fiend Hunter to permanently exile things.
Defender en-Vec - Budget; an old oddball that can play with it’s fading counters to do up to 8 damage prevention, and kill itself doing so (and thus be available for recursion)
Lowland Tracker - Budget; another old oddball. This guy lets you kill the Noble Hierarch that’s been chilling on the other side of the field, or pull an important defender away. Or diplomatically, to let a opponents big creature be available to block.
Mentor of the Meek - Modest, allows you to draw off of most of the creatures in your deck and Alesha’s ability
Palisade Giant and Protector of the Crown - both budget; good meat shields for you
Radiant’s Dragoons - budget; decent lifegain, echo lets it die and be used again
Recruiter of the Guard - Expensive; our first expensive card, and for a good reason - she can tutor most of our deck, and works with Alesha
Stonehorn Dignitary - Budget; use it like it’s in a Brago deck, abuse and shut people down.
(Anything that worked in Brago and is 2<= power is a good choice)
Black
Archetype of Finality - Budget; Deathtouch for the team and take it away from your opponents? Fun toy.
Tumblr media
Big Game Hunter - Modest; does a repeatable Smite the Monstrous impression, and has Madness (we do like discarding!)
Bone Shredder - Budget; It kills stuff, and dies easy for using it again next turn
Disciple of Bolas - Modest; sac something, then draw and LG. You’ll probably want to recurr whatever you sac’d, so win-win
Entomber Exarch - Budget; retrieve a creature in the ‘yard, or better Duress an opponent
Gonti -  edge of Budget; steal your opponents toys over and over
Marionette Master - Budget; niche artifact usage, token maker
Nekrataal - Budget; backup Bone Shredder
Noosegraf Mob - Budget; solid beater and token creator. 0/0 creatures are a great reason to play Alesha.
Pontiff of Blight - Budget; Bottom heavy mass Extort. Lets you pretend to be an Orzhov deck and play with some life.
Priest of the Blood Rite - Budget; Get it in the yard, pull it out, sac, repeat. 5/5 demon flyers are nothing to scoff at.
Thief of Blood - Budget; Kills ‘Walkers, and weakens or kills +1/+1 reliant creatures. Pulls -1/-1 counters off your team (take that Hapatra!), and while we don’t play with other counters (loyalty, ki, etc), we mess with others who do
Thorn of the Black Rose - Budget; Card draw, deathtouch
Wei Night Raiders - Expensive; Portal 3 card, so super pricey, but it’s basically an unblockable Hypnotic Specter
Hypnotic Specter - Budget; as above, but cheaper and blockable
Raving Dead - Modest; Basically half a kill if it gets through, and Alesha’s ressurection lets you pick the target.
RED
Anarchist -  Budget; lets your reuse sorceries like Sieze the Day, or Buried Alive. Alesha’s recursion means not paying the 5 CMC.
Tumblr media
Beetleback Chief - Budget; 4/4 over 3 bodies for 2 mana is attractive for sac outlets
Goblin Settler - Obscene; Proxy it, and revel in repeated land destruction
Ignition Team - Budget; Another Conspiracy 0/0, it can come in for cheap and be pretty big midgame. It also makes solid beaters out of lands
Imperial Recruiter - Obscene; Proxy it, and tutor any card you want
Manic Vandal - Budget; toolkit for artifact destruction
Mindclaw Shaman - Budget; steal your opponents spells
Savage Firecat - Budget; enters as a 7/7 trample beater, and you can kill it and bring it back as needed.
Siege-Gang Commander - Modest; better Beetleback Chief with a sac outlet
Yuan-Shao, the Indecisive - Obscene; Proxy it, and have an unblockable creature, and force your creatures to be blocked one on one.
Artifacts
Arcbound X - Budget - Obscene; Pick any of the bigger ones (skip Arcbound Ravager), and you get a good deal. Underpriced (with Alesha’s ability) and nice abilities on death.
Burnished Hart - Budget; good ramp is good, recurrable good ramp is better
Clockwork Dragon - Budget; the biggest clockwork creatures comes in as a 6/6 flyer for 2.
Filigree Familiar - Budget; smaller Solemn Simulacrum that’ll probably be a budget EDH staple.
Solemn Simulacrum - Modest; repeatable value is always good.
Silent Arbiter - Modest; Good defensive option, forces your opponents to block your incoming team with one declared defender. Sac at the end of the turn before yours and repeat.
Triskelion - Budget; Because Walking Ballista doesn’t work in this deck
Workhorse - Budget; Weird ramp? Recur it turn 4 and you have X+2 mana, where X is the amount of normal land drops and getting Alesha T3.
Multicolor
Ankle Shanker - Budget; A brutal combat trick, even played from the hand. Also, the alt art is equally cheap, so check it out.
Ponyback Brigade - Budget; You probably have this lying at the bottom of a box somewhere. 4 bodies with 5/5 power. Makes great fodder for sac effects and Ashnod’s Altar
Sin Collector  - Budget; tech against spellslinger decks
Duergar Hedge-Mage - Budget; tech removal against artifacts and enchantments
Flame-Kin Zealot and Resolute Blademaster- Budget; selected combat tricks, to support Ankle Shanker. Compare to the Archetype of X creatures from Theros block for fun combat.
Fulminator Mage - Expensive; Modern staple, and really useful - sac before combat damage for land removal
Master of Cruelties - Pricey; Almost a game win if it gets through.
Lim-Dul’s Paladin -  Budget; Does it all - kills itself, can draw a card, is a trampling 6/6 or a 4 life drainer.
(2) Filling the ‘Yard
We want a couple options for filling the yard - discard, self milling, sac’ing enchantments, artifacts, and creatures (and some things that benefit from all the dying.
(A) Entomb & Co.
Tumblr media
Corpse Connoisseur does it twice (but doesn’t combo with Alesha), Buried Alive and Entomb are classics. Morality Shift says “screw it, I’ll make my deck my ‘yard.” There are some others, but these are my favorites.
(B) Sac Engines
(Lots of sac engines here)
We like things that sac for free. We want Goblin Bombardment, not Barrage of Expendables.
Free sac effects let us sac things in response to things dying worthlessly in combat, or before a board wipe, or because we want Alesha to recur them. It’s better for something getting Path’d to be in the ‘yard than exiled.
Spawning Pit makes tokens, Viscera Seer scrys, Dimir House-Guard transmutes, recurs, and is a sac outlet, Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod’s Altar are mana makers, Sadistic Hypnotist is just plain mean discard, Martyr’s Cause is a fun for protection and diplomacy,
Attrition is a sac outlet I’m willing to pay B for to use, and is double good with a Grave Pact package, and Shivan Harvest for land removal.
(3) Discard and Milling
Sometimes we wanna self mill, or rummage(Red’s in our colors). Cathartic Reunion is okay, because we get 2 things in the yard. Body Snatcher likes helping entomb and recur stuff. Escalating Collective Brutality, especially early game, fills the ‘yard. Cryptbreaker makes bodies, draws cards, and can come back with Alesha (but will probably die). Wheel of Fortune and co. discard your hand (and everyone elses) and gets you refilled. Cards with Retrace are great, like World at War.
There’s plenty of Discard stuff out there (self milling in Mardu isn’t my forte), use them well
(3) Reanimation Effects
(extra stuff here)
Reveillark loves Alesha’s creatures, and makes the best target for reanimating and sac’ing. Resurrection, False Defeat, and Breath of Life are very similar white sorceries, and Miraculous Recovery is an instant version. Death or Glory does the whole yard, but takes away the toolbox functionality of your ‘yard. And Marshal’s Anthem is a anthem plus kickable recursion.
Unburial Rites is fiscally cheap, and goes twice. Reanimate, Animate Dead, Beacon of Unrest, Diabolic Servitude - there’s so many black options
Cauldron Dance is an odd trick, getting 2 more creatures on the field, plus whatever Alesha pulls. Crypt Champion always dies when pulled by Alesha, but has a decent effect, and always dying is fine in Grave Pact decks.
THE REST:
For a 3 color manabase I always suggest the Professor. We value mana rocks and dual/tri lands more than a dual or mono deck, so business as usual. We plan on ramping from artifacts, and if needed, white has some “Balance” style Plains ramping, and Black has some Swamp ramping. Feel free to dip into one color more than normal based on the makeup of your deck - more black creatures, add more black mana.
Tumblr media
Grave Pack, Butcher of Malakir, Blood Artist & co, make a nice package. If your running sac outlets, you can focus more on token effects to sac your way to victory.
Combat help is nice too - extra combat phases plus things that protect Alesha are good - extra phases like Aurelia and her like, and Iroas, God of Victory, Reconnaissance (also good for saving things Alesha recurs), Boots and Greaves, indestructibility effects like Nahiri’s Mechanizations and Gift of Immortality.
WEAKNESSES:
GY hate. This deck is Meren-level of GY hate weakness. We can always restock the ‘yard, but it hurts a lot.
Stax/Pillowfort decks hurt a lot - things Voltron decks do well (like hitting for Commander Damage) won’t work for us.
Alesha is also small for a commander that wades into combat. 2 toughness gets killed by Shock, or any effect worse than -0/-2. Some protection is seriously needed - protection equipment package works fine since Alesha has access to White, as well as Reconnaissance is good for triggering Alesha’s ability and retreating out of bad blocking situations.
RATINGS:
Control: 5/10 - Alesha doesn’t favor a control set up, nor does she have abilities that help, but her colors are great for answering anything, as well as board wipes.
Diplomacy: 6/10 - not really equipped for it past “stop attacking me with your resurrected Raving Dead”
Aggro: 9/10 - she not only likes attacking, she recurs things attacking too.
Overall Power: 10/10 - She’s a Tier 1.5 commander, and one of the easiest to learn and abuse.
Versatility: 10/10 - While she does one thing, she has a lot of options stemming from it.
Affordability: 10/10 - She can go super budget, or uber expensive, scaling for your wallet and group power level. She also got reprinted in C16, while already being cheap, so she goes for like a quarter.
Overall Score: 50/60 best commander thus far. She does a lot in a 3 CMC body.
One of the 99: Decent. In most decks not built around her, she’s mostly for recurring utility creatures or things for sac outlets, as well as a lot of Aggro decks.
FINAL VERDICT: Get this card. Even if you can’t build with her right now, or the next 3 years, just get her and put her in your box of bulk rares.
You can build a deck out of an LGS’s draft rejects and go toe to toe with an average pre-con group. She is one well endowed lady.

Looking for Leon, Part One
Llane Venner hated contradictions. He absolutely loathed them, despite the fact that his professional life had been one great big contradiction. As a spy for SI:7, he had lied for a living, while as a journalist, he was sworn to uphold the truth.
And even that wasn’t this frustrating, he thought. At least I never seemed to appear in two places at once!
Immediately after the Dragoon meeting, he’d gone to Old Town, looking for any sign of what Alynore had described as “a man matching Terry's description” who’d been seen making drug deals in the neighborhood, at times that Terry’s whereabouts had been accounted for. Terry was clearly being set up, and it amazed Llane that the Argent Crusade investigator, Bloodleaf or whoever she was, couldn’t see it for herself.
And now, as if Terry being locked up in Dalaran hadn’t been bad enough, Leon had also gone missing. Llane was certain that this “other Terry,” whoever he was, was involved. And he owed it to Pinapple and Kaewynn to do his best to find their husband and bring him home safe.
So he’d started digging, buying a few rounds in the Pig and Whistle and throwing some coin around on the streets. Not enough to draw any undue attention to himself, but enough to hopefully get some answers. After all, he wasn’t the only person who’d ever gone to Old Town looking for information.
A few people had told him whatever they thought he wanted to hear. Llane had seen through that act right away. The more concrete stories had been...contradictory.
Some people had seen “Terry” outside the Five Deadly Venoms a few nights back. Others had seen him at the fountain by the Command Center, at the exact same time. It wasn’t just that the locations differed, either.
Even the descriptions of “Terry” were contradictory. Some had described him as a “crazy asshole,” while others had said that he seemed “like any bloke.” He was dishevelled in one place, while halfway across town, he was as clean as anyone else in Old Town.
The most interesting story, though, had come from a grizzled old-timer in the Pig and Whistle. “Yeah, I ‘member him,” he said. “Wouldn’t stop messing with the doohickey on his back.”
Llane raised an eyebrow. “Doohickey?” he echoed. “What kind of doohickey?”
The old-timer shrugged. “I don’t know,” he said, “it was in his knapsack thing. Made a lotta hissing noises, whether he messed with it or not. I guess some hisses were good hisses?”
“Good hisses?” Llane pressed. “Like, pleased-sounding?” He wondered if “Terry” kept a pet snake.
“Nah,” the old-timer said, shaking his head. “Like pipes, y’know.” Llane hadn’t willing to abandon that avenue of questioning quite yet. “Did it also make bad hisses?”
“Buddy, I don’t fuckin’ know what the hisses were. The fuckin’ thing just fuckin’ hissed all the time.”
It was at that point that Llane Venner remembered that he was questioning an old drunk in the Pig and Whistle, and that he should be thankful that he’d gotten that much information out of the man. So he thanked him for his time, and signalled for the bartender to serve one more round on him, before closing his tab and heading for the door. He’d wait a day or so for the hubbub from his visit to die down, and then see if he could dig up anything else.
In the meantime, he tried not to think about the third group of people he’d spoken with. The other ones who’d lied to him. They claimed to have no idea who “Terry” was at all.
To a one, they’d also all been scared out of their minds.

Bluepoint’s Upcoming Next Gen Game Will Be Their Largest
January 25, 2020 7:48 PM EST
Bluepoint Games is teasing more info on their PS5 project, claiming it will be their “largest” and will set the standards for next gen graphics.
What’s indie developer Bluepoint Games been working on? While the team has been making major titles this generation, nothing has been so highly anticipated or widely discussed as their upcoming PS5 project. And while we still don’t know exactly what that may be, recent statements from Bluepoint indicate it will be their largest project yet — aiming to “define the visual benchmark for the next generation of gaming hardware.”
News comes from Bluepoint’s own website — following a recent redesign, the team hid in a small tease at their PS5 project to come. While not explicitly stating what they are working on, they indicate that the scope and visuals should be outside the bounds of what we’ve seen from their projects so far:
Our latest project is the largest in our history, and aims to define the visual benchmark for the next generation of gaming hardware.
This only continues to hype up Bluepoint’s already ambitious statements. Lets not forget that Bluepoint’s President Marco Thrush had previously announced that the upcoming project will be their “achievement we’re most proud of.”
youtube
So where do we stand — let’s take some notes on what this might mean. Bluepoint Games has largely been a titan in the industry since the company’s inception, largely focusing on remasters and remakes like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Gravity Rush Remastered, or the 2018 remake of Shadow of the Colossus. Those are games with some crazy scope, so being both the largest and setting visual benchmarks are quite the claim.
While seeing them tackle a new project would undoubtedly be cool, we know that the team is dealing with another remake for PS5. And while we don’t know for certain which remake this may be — speculation has time and time again pointed to an adaptation of FromSoftware’s original project, Demon’s Souls:
To classics we play Our blood, sweat, tears give thanks!
To family & fans, eager you stay Cheers rekindle flames – thanks!
Today feast, tomorrow rest Soon the beast freed from jest
Temptation we shun
