Report via TMZ -- Frank Lucas, one of America's most infamous drug kingpins, died Thursday night ... TMZ has confirmed. Frank, famously played by Denzel Washington in the 2007 movie "American Gangster," died in New Jersey, according to his brother. We're told Frank was being transported to a hospital for an unknown health issue and died on the way. Lucas rose to power dealing heroin in Harlem in the 1960s and '70s, and he boasted of cutting out middlemen by buying his product directly from Southeast Asia ... then smuggling the drugs back to America using the coffins of dead U.S. servicemen. Frank was born and raised in North Carolina before moving to New York City ... where he eventually got into the drug trade, cutting into the Italian mafia's business and carving a name for himself. Lucas bragged his heroin was among the purest on the street, and he infamously dubbed his product, "Blue Magic." While he was at the top of the NYC drug trade, Frank rubbed elbows with elites from Hollywood, politics and the business world. Frank was finally busted in the mid-1970s and all of his enormous assets and wealth were seized. Lucas owned property across the country in Chicago, Miami, Detroit, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina -- and even Puerto Rico. When the DEA raided Frank's Jersey home in 1975, agents found more than $584,000 in cash. Frank was convicted of federal and state drug violations ... and sentenced to 70 years in prison. Lucas ratted out others in the drug biz, and he and his family entered a witness protection program. After 5 years in custody, Frank had his sentence reduced to time served plus lifetime parole ... but he was later busted for drug dealing again, and spent another 7 years behind bars before being released in 1991. Frank is survived by his 7 children. Report Via TMZ -- Pablo Escobar's family needs your help to make another person disappear -- this time, it's President Trump they want out ... but, apparently, it'll be no cheap feat. The brother of the deceased Colombian drug kingpin, Roberto (aka El Osito), has started a GoFundMe campaign seeking at least $50 million in donations to bolster his company's efforts to impeach the U.S. Prez. Sounds totally legit ... we're listening. Roberto and his associates at Escobar Inc. are soliciting anyone and everyone to kick in cash toward their crowdfunding page to finance "intelligence research, lobby firms and lawyers" that could ultimately lead to Trump's downfall in Congress. Hmmmmm ... yes, go on. Roberto claims he's already got dirt on Trump from previous alleged business dealings between DT and the Escobar company ... among other things. Roberto says his dirty secrets on Trump are something Special Counsel Robert Mueller would wanna hear. He sounds pretty confident in himself, saying, "I am the brother of a Latino hero, I have eliminated many people from power ... Trump will be impeached." We'll give him this ... the Escobars have definitely (allegedly) gotten rid of some folks in their day. Maybe it's just us, but it's weird that Roberto and co. are asking for a cool $50 mil to fund this project if they've already got the goods on Trump. When Evil Tries to Look Good

The death of the Zetas cartel leader Heriberto Lazcano marks another in a series of takedowns of Mexico’s most wanted capos, otherwise known as the “kingpin strategy”. This strategy implies that once the leader or kingpin of the cartel is taken arrested or killed, the cartel will crumble. However, this has not proven to be the case.

  Of the 37 capos identified in 2009 as Mexico’s most wanted men, 25 have now been captured or killed. Undoubtedly Lazcano (pictured right) was the biggest catch of them all, and of the Mexican criminals whose notoriety is comparable to Lazcano’s, only four remain at large: Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, Servando “ La Tuta” Gomez, Juan Jose “ El Azul” Esparragoza, and Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

While this is a tremendous triumph for Mexico, the violence and cartel influence continues to be strong. Even when the arrest of a capo does lead to a group’s disintegration, this does not mean that its members decide to adopt law-abiding lifestyles. Many times they splinter into smaller organizations, all vying for power.[i]

Within the Zeta’s organization, a new group, “The Legionaries”, have formed with the sole purpose of taking down the newly appointed Zeta’s leader, Miguel Angel Trevino Morales, “Z-40″. In classic cartel style, the Legionaries displayed a narco banner stating their plans:

“The Legionaries are a group of renegade Zetas who were betrayed by “Z-40.” [...] The Legionaries have the clear mission only to kill people from the Zetas and their families … an eye for an eye. Our business is solely and exclusively drug trafficking. We respect the federal forces and their fight to end the narco.”[ii] (“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil… ” Isaiah 5:20)

It is not unusual for a new organization to attempt to come across as good citizens. Drug gangs often try to distinguish themselves from each other by claiming to be morally superior to their rivals, stating that they plan to focus on shipping drugs rather than extortion or kidnapping, and refraining from killing civilians.

Is there hope that the grip of the cartels will be loosened and trafficking, drugs, and violence will cease? God reminds us, the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land (Psalm 37:9).

PRAY:

We praise you, Mighty God, that the cartels have been shaken. We thank you that so many kingpins have been captured; we thank you for hearing our cries for the people of Mexico.

We ask you to continue to break the foundation of the cartels so that there will be a complete crumbling of their organizational structure. We call for the four main leaders to be captured and held accountable for their evil deeds.

We implore of you, God of Hope, to bring light and encouragement to the people of Mexico. May they see your hand at work and stand firm in the knowledge that you have a plan for their future of good and prosperity. (Jer. 29:11).

There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. - Proverbs 23:18
