Chapter 2 GTRT AU

First chapter->

“Left! Or maybe right. Left?”

For the navigator, Sally wasn’t particularly good with directions. As she fumbled with the map Tommy caught a glimpse of it. It was marked all over with red pen, signifying gods know what. Despite the protest of wanting to use a GPS, Wilbur was insistent on its usage.

It was around eight now, and everyone was awake and tired of sitting.

“So,” Wilbur started,”Our ending point is Garibaldi Lake, British Colombia to retrieve Percy Jackson’s Riptide. It’s been stuck there in the arms of a monster, turned to stone with Medusa’s gaze.”

“Ooh, spooky.” Tubbo said, mocking his dramatics. Nonetheless Wilbur cleared his throat before continuing.

“It should be easy, we just have to-“

“Wait, Percy Jackson?” Tommy asked. 

“Yeah, he’s a legend. Dead now, but the story still circulates. A camper wrote books about him, Ricky Something. Marketed as fiction though, for the sake of camp. ” Wilbur said, as the campers nodded along. 

“Woah.”

Ranboo chimed in, wanting to contribute, ”Yup, rumor has it he’s the guy who killed Medusa in the first place, he kept her head to-“

“Shut up, boo-boy.” Tommy said. Who did that kid think he was, honestly? The only friend he made at camp, the only one who didnt think he was weird, and they have the nerve to have him leaning on their shoulder?

Tommy realized all too late that he was mumbling a bit louder than he wanted to be, but the embarrassment was immediately relieved as Sally’s raspy voice shouted out from the seat in front of him.

“No one look out the windshield!”

Tommy was just as astonished as terrified.

A harpy sat in the middle of the barren road, and the Sunsong came to a screeching halt. Everyone held their breath, trying not to provoke her. Suddenly, she outstretched her wings and let out a scream.

Tommy looked around, expecting to see as much horror in others as he felt, only to feel a heavy sword and sheath fall only his lap. He didn’t have his own weapon yet, so a training sword, proudly sporting the Camp Half Blood logo, would do for now. Aimsey shot up, motioning for everyone to stay in the bus. Tubbo immediately sat down, nearly on Tommy, flicking out his dagger and putting his arm to the back of Techno and Sally’s seat. Tommy wasn’t sure if this was for his safety or for the others’. Techno quietly handed Sally a spear before taking a long sword that looked like you needed a minimum of three people to carry it. 

The bus was locked. The road was barren. Tommy expected Wilbur to say something, or maybe Techno, but they only sat patiently in their seats. Aimsey instead, who looked to be about eleven, whispered instructions at the group, standing as close as he could to Tubbo so he could hear. Tubbo was deaf, or at least hard of hearing, Tommy figured, he was sure he had a hearing aid but he couldn’t quite see it.

“Alright, listen, we’ve trained for this. Ran, go through the bus and lock the windows, and make sure all the back escapes open. Techno, guard the door in case she gets in. Wil grab your bow and open a window, don’t shoot until your instructed. Sally, get all our stuff and move it to the back of the bus in case the harpy invades. Tubbo, turn off the engines and everything that makes noise. I’m going to try and rope it down with the vines over by that big bush. Whatever you do, stay quiet. Ill give a signal to attack.”

Aimsey’s hooves clicked as she slipped to the seat closest to the drivers, opposite Wilbur and his bow.

“Aimsey?” Tommy said in the chaos of everyone shuffling to their positions.

Aimsey glanced down at him.

”What about me? Don’t I get a job?”

”Oh, um, try not to die?”

Tommy slumped down in his seat. 

Everyone just had to get a cool job but me, huh? I even know my godly parent, Hermes! Just ‘cause I’m new I’m treated like a baby.

Tommy continued to grumble as Ranboo leaned over him to check the lock. 

Yeah, of course they got a cool job to protect the bus. 

And Tommy made a bad decision that moment.

As hard as he could, Tommy elbowed Ranboo in the stomach.

And, as most reasonable people would, Ranboo keeled over and fell backwards, knocking into Wilbur. The very same Wilbur holding a locked and loaded bow and arrow.

It was as if in slow motion, Wilbur let go of the wire, shooting the harpy in the wing. And she was twice as mad.

Time paused as Tommy looked from person to person. Everyone was stunned, silently watching the bus turn around to glare at Wilbur and Ranboo.

Pretty little Ranboo, who’s probably gonna rat on me to the whole bus, huh? 

Sally snapped around to yell at Wilbur, but he was already glaring at Ranboo. 

Tommy looked at the ground, waiting for another good reason to hate Ranboo. But none came to him. 

“Listen guys I am so sorry, I don’t know what happened but I- um- lost balance and fell. Sorry. I’ll make it up to y’all hold tight.” 

Ranboo said this quietly, but you could sense the fear in his voice. After all, what’s one more body in the woods?

Sally suddenly grabbed Ranboo by the collar. Tommy restrained a laugh being that Sally was barely clearing five foot while Ranboo was six foot three and still growing. 

Wilbur snapped around and grabbed Sally’s arm, hissing at everyone in the car, “Okay, we’re all a bit high strung but y’know what won’t help? Beating the sh*t out of each other! So stop!”

Suddenly the snarling outside quieted. The harpy was gone. Everyone sat in silence. Waiting. Watching. Listening. Tommy soon found out why.

Before anyone could bat another eye the bus shook violently from above as giant talons crashed through the windscreen. Glass shards flew at the seats and a screech that made everyone cover their ears in fear rang out as the harpy pushed its head through the hole it had made. Wilbur picked up his bow but couldn’t focus his shaking hands enough to load it. Aimsey dove into the aisle and tried to pull Techno into a seat as quickly as they could. Techno stumbled, refusing to take his hands off of his ears, and Tommy noticed a few tears as he was pushed into the seat next to him. Aimsey dove next to Tubbo, who was desperately clawing at the carpeted lining, mumbling something about the metal in the wall. The scream was terrible, and seemed to get louder as time went on, like the harpy would never run out of breath. 

Just when Tommy thought surely, surely it could not get any worse, the harpy smashed a giant wing through the windshield. Everyone screamed and ran to the back of the bus, Tommy being one of them. 

Aimsey and Wilbur desperately threw opposite instructions at the group, hoping it would somehow make a plan. 

“GO LEFT!”

“STAY STRAIGHT!”

“INTO THE WOODS TO HIDE!”

“DRAW YOUR WEAPONS!”

“RUN! RUN! RUN!”

“STAY PUT!”

Eventually the shouting became so muttled that the group ran in circles despite themselves. They had been trained for planned fights on flat turf, not particularly bold harpies on buses. Aimsey desperately tried to keep a headcount. Wilbur started egging Techno on to make a plan. Techno was nearing tears with his hands still firm on his ears. Sally opened her thermos and found it devastatingly dry. Tubbo was looking for… something, until a look of horrified realization set onto his face. He heard that something’s voice.

“STOP!” The command stretched past all the screaming, the whole world seemed to feel the dismay and anger. A purple glow shot through the bus, beaming out the windows. Everyone stood still. The voice continued. 

“STOP NOW. STOP EVERYONE! GET OFF OF OUR GODDAMN BUS AND LEAVE!”

The harpy suddenly scurried off. Everyone unpaused as the purple light stopped, looking around in confusion. And a very dazed and adrenaline filled Ranboo tumbled his way out of the back of the bus.

Ik you've deleted the Percy Jackson Dsmp au fic for good reasons but i really loved that au and i was wondering maybe if you could share the outline of it. I'll respect your decision either way, i don't want to force you to share something you probably don't want to think about anymore.

I've shared some details about WYPRTU (god that's such an awful acronym i didn't think this through lmao) before, but a more general overview of the next chapters would have been like this:

chapter v. fall of camp half-blood part 2, introduction of camp jupiter

chapter vii. chb gang arrives at camp jupiter, the camps face off a titan attack together

and then the rest of the series could have been fun little one-shots of their day-to-day lives. I think I played around with the idea of Niki joining the hunters of artemis, and a one-shot chapter of Q at college getting attacked by monsters while that gang were visiting.

I already know this is gonna get long so read more:

Okay, so I've figured out parentage for just about everyone. However I mostly only have backstories and shit for SBI/Bench Trio/Las Navedas Crew so this will mostly be focused on them.

We'll go about this time line wise:

So Camp Half Blood is ran by Philza who's essentially in Chiron's place. I've set him as a centaur for the moment but honestly I might just make him a harpy or some other bird hybrid because having him be anything but a bird feels too weird. The 'Dionysis' in this scenario is gonna be Kristin who's a Goddess still, she's Hades and Persephone's second kid. She isn't always around but she's around enough that the campers are used to her. She can revive or kill anything living (which becomes very important later on).

I also should preemptively mention I've taken some liberties. For instance the 'three on a quest' thing doesn't exist and Satyr's aren't demigod protectors.

So my current 'timeline' starts with Techno showing up to the camp because he's the oldest of the current campers (19). When he shows up to camp though he's a literal baby, think Jason Grace kinda shit. Parent just said 'I aint dealing with this' and dropped him at the camp so Phil and Kristin raised him. It's a big reason why he's so strong now. Techno is a kid of Nemesis (if you want to know why I chose her or any of the other parents send me another ask cuz this is already gonna be hella long) and he doesn't really have any powers other then getting a mild strength boost when he's trying to get revenge.

Dream (Athena), George (Hypnos), Sapnap (Ares), Karl (Iris thought I might change it to Hecate) and Quackity (Tyche) all show up next. Don't have much to say about that. None of them rlly have backstories yet (though I do have their powers and shit done if you wanna ask me about those).

Punz, Purpled and Hannah show up next. Punz and Purpled are the only two I have at the current moment that are biological siblings. They're both kids of Nike about three years apart. Hannah is just a friend that's close enough to essentially be their sister (child of Demeter, obviously).

Now this next part is a little iffy but basically Techno is sent by Phil to go off and find Jack, cuz Jack Manifold is the only alive kid of one of the big three (child of Hades). This gets messy though because he ends up finding Niki (Nemesis), Wilbur (Apollo), Sally (Posidon), Fundy (Hermes), Tommy (Demeter), and Tubbo (Haephestus) on the same trip and has to somehow get them all back in one piece.

Spoiler alert: He doesn't manage it. Sally dies and Wilbur leaves pretty soon after they get back to camp because... well, man's is grieving and I need to show his death arc somehow without killing him (because I can't use the Kristin powers twice that's lame and I need them later).

Schaltt shows up after Wilbur leaves. He's a kid of Dionysis and long story short an ass, cuz this is modeled after dsmp right? I don't have it fully fleshed out but I know he gets together with Q for a bit and that relationship isn't super great and that he takes Tubbo and Fundy under his wing for a bit (which again, doesn't end super well). He dies in some super pathetic way at some point idk, who cares.

The fiancees also get together for a bit but end up breaking off for some reason I haven't decided yet. This only gets a mention because frankly I haven't fleshed it out and I'm not very focused on it.

Now we get to the fun parts.

Ranboo is a child of Aphrodite who shows up and gets taken under Techno's wing. Gets some training, makes friends with Tubbo and Tommy dunno poggers shit. He's a bit outcasted cuz he's... well, not a typical Aphrodite kid and also cuz man's still has his memory issues (not sure why he has them yet, might be trauma might be something else idk not super important as of now).

Ranboo, Tubbo and Tommy go on a quest where they find Michael (Demeter) and Shroud (Athena). Ranboo and Tubbo get together for jokes at first until it isn't, you know Pog shit.

The Las Navedas crew (Quackity, Purpled, Fundy, Sam (Athena), Foolish (Apollo though might change to Hecate)) go on a quest for some reason or other. Dunno specifics but it's led up to cuz Fundy starts getting those prophetic skin demigod dreams and has to have George walk in his dreams to figure shit out cuz you know, Fundy's like 12 in this au and has no idea wtf is going on. But anyway they find Charlie (Athena) along the way so that's fun.

Wilbur comes back to camp which is shocking cuz everyone just kinda... assumed he was dead. Think of that scene in the fourth pjo book or whatever when Percy shows up from Ogigia and everyone is like "WE THOUGHT YOU WERE FUCKING DEAD" its like that.

Then to mirror the burger van arc Wilbur, Quackity, Ranboo, Tubbo and Tommy are sent on a quest which I have actually planned out! For the most part anyway... I've planned Ranboo's arc, whatever same/dif.

Basically Ranboo is helping Wilbur and Quackity stop being idiots and get together, while in the process giving them shit therapy a la "I don't think your a bad person." It's fun. They meet his mom who's like "focus and love urself Jesus Christ," they meet Q's mom who tries to kill them in Las Vegas, Wilbur and Q get together finally, Ranboo dies to protect Tubbo it's a fun time. And Tommy is there because I want someone to call these dumbasses on their bullshit.

Anyway, so yeah, Ranboo's dead. Sam isn't an idiot here though (and Dream isn't evil) so we get revengers except Michael's find so they're just going to find Kristin in the underworld (cuz ofc she's gone when they need her) with Tommy and Wilbur to revive Ranboo. Tommy comes so I can do the fun "ig I like Ranboo or whatever" thing and Wilbur is there because I want him to be angsty about Sally. That's it, I just like torturing him, don't judge me.

Anyways this is just a gross generalization of everything and it's still like thirty paragraphs so... pls fkin send me more asks I want to talk about this more. Atm I want to write like just one shots for it that aren't in any particular order? Like I really want to do one for Techno and Ranboo going into their histories and parallels and shit. So... ye <3

-> phil doesnt really interact w mortals outside of like. because hes hanging out w techno lijkr4ed. also since techno's retired to to the camp he probably spends every other week w his wife

technoblade is a war god/the blood god this is a given. he runs the camp bc he's always been a protector of new soldiers and genuinely likes training young people. phil is there bc he follows techno around to carry the souls of those he kills to the afterlife. phil and techno are like. besties your honor, platonic life partners, whatever. him running the camp is retirement methinks

-> technoblade chooses mortal heroes that he blesses with the ability to hear the voices in battle and call upon the blood gods strength

phil's wife is the goddess of death. is she kristin, is the the samsung smart fridge, idk but shes married to phil. he comes to see her and brings her the souls of the dead as like a romantic gift, we know the deal

-> lady death has a soft spot for dead babies but shes not like. their mom? she doesnt really have kids or mortals that are "hers", shes not super interested in them. i think shes actually p cold and reserved, except to phil

drista is a trickster god, comes to earth and causes chaos until she is once again banished to the heavens- dionysus in pjo got grounded to camp half blood, drista gets grounded FROM camp half blood or whatever i end up calling the camp

-> drista picks out a mortal she likes and smacks them over the head in their early-ish childhood (before the age of ten) with her mark, thus labeling them as Hers. they may as well be a demigod at that point tbh shes technically their patron not their mom but the only difference is the dynamic lol

dristas older brother is dreamXD. i dont know anything about canon!dreamXD but im gonna make him a god of reality? bc as i understand it he comes to c!gnf in dreams or smth idk. hes probably the most powerful but idt he cares to be king of the gods- unless someone was claiming to be more powerful than him which theyre not dumb enough to do.

-> if gnf is a god, dxd never has mortal children, only blesses young adults and teens. if gnf isnt a god, dxd sometimes does blessings n sometimes has mortal children. his blessings work like how dristas do

foolish used to be a god of death before phil was, but when phil married the samsung smart fridge, he stepped down to become the god of life instead. he doesnt reign over births in any way, i think the ender dragon does that, but he like. u know. hes the totem of undying guy, ppl come to him when theyre trying to avoid death. or like, if theyre afraid someones gonna die- hes ya man

herobrine is a god of destruction. you give up offerings to him to avoid, like, earthquakes n shit

gnf miiiight be a god of dreams or miight be the son of dreamXD i dont watch him so idk how/how much i wanna play into his and dreamXD's canon dynamic. ill have to watch some vods n talk to my datemates little sister and come back to it later

schlatt is a god of divine justice or punishment, he judges the dead and works w mumza to decide who gets what afterlife. i will not elaborate on why find the clip of wilbur reacting to the matpat video lij5rkefd

I saw a PJO/dsmp au over on Instagram and I was inspired to make my own so

Here’s the SBI + Bee duo to start :)

(btw all the characters here are mostly based off of their dsmp characters, not the actual ccs)

Tommy- Apollo kid. Can do that loud whistle thingy, and can sing very well. He can play a few instruments really well as well. His weapon of choice is a sword bc he thought it looked cool when he was ten and never looked back. He’s also fairly good with a bow tho bc Apollo. Didn’t really inherent any of the prophecy or healing stuff from his dad. Was orphaned at a super young age and juggled between foster homes for a while before he ran away at around nine years old. Lived on the streets with Tubbo for a while before being picked up by Wilbur and introduced to Phil, and taken into Camp Half-Blood (He took one look at Camp Jupiter and immediately went No <3)

Tubbo- Hephaestus kid. Obviously a great tinkerer, he‘ll spend a lot of time making cool little bots and contraptions. Has made an entire army of robees that help him when he’s working on bigger projects. Can’t control fire, but he does have an immunity to it. Makes him really good for working in the forges. He’s also stupid strong because he works in the forges so often. His weapon of choice is an axe. It was the first weapon he made after arriving at CHB and he’s become very well practiced in fighting with it. Also orphaned, Tubbo’s mom was from New Rome, but died during a monster attack while outside of the city. He was about ten when it happened, and took to the streets in a panic. He was presumed dead by New Rome. Ran around with Tommy for about a year before being found by Wilbur, then followed Tommy to CHB.

Wilbur- Also an Apollo kid, with an affinity for music and prophecy. Technically head counsellor of the Apollo cabin, but lives in the big house as a senior counsellor that oversees all the cabins and handles events and whatnot. His weapon of choice is a bow. His mother was pretty much out of the picture from a fairly young age, she dropped him off at CHB and he hasn’t heard from her since. He met Phil while on a field trip to New Rome, and Phil took Wil under his wing almost immediately. Phil would call him at least twice a week via Iris message, and they would exchange letters often as well. Phil also introduced him to Techno, who became a lot like a brother to Wil, and was soon added to the Iris messages and letters.

Phil- Second generation descendant of Zephyrus, Phil was born and grew up in New Rome. He went to Camp Jupiter when he was old enough, and then travelled for a while before settling down again with Kristin in New Rome. He works closely with Camp Jupiter, patrolling borders and helping with field trips between the camps as a chaperone. Though he doesn’t have wings like his grandfather, he still loves being in the air and has become really good with Pegasi and other flying monsters. He also inherited his grandfather’s generally chill personality, as well as his ability to suddenly become very threatening. While he is looked up to by many, he is also a fairly scary force when you’ve pissed him off. His weapon of choice is a sword, but he is also very good with a bow. He met both Techno and Wilbur while chaperoning events, and while Techno treated him more like a mentor, he fully regarded Wil as his son, and eventually legally adopted him.

Techno- A Mars kid. An incredibly skilled fighter with a terrifying aura. He is definitely capable of leading legions, but has turned down the role many a time because he hates the social responsibility that comes with it. His weapon of favour is a sword, but he is also very skilled with an axe and a crossbow. Stumbled upon Camp Jupiter when running from monsters, and was welcomed in. Met Phil at a sparring tournament when he was eleven, and decided he liked him, promptly challenging him to a duel. Phil defeated him, but was impressed, and became something of a mentor to Techno, though Techno was also always welcome to come by Phil’s house whenever he wanted or needed to. He was introduced to Wilbur when he visited one time, and the kid promptly adopted him as a brother and never looked back. He went to university in New Rome as an English major, dropped out, and started working with Camp Jupiter beside Phil, more as a strategist and patroller than a chaperone though.

Ranboo- An Aphrodite kid. Yes, I said it. Don’t shoot the messenger. While he doesn’t enjoy it, he can charmspeak, very well actually, and had to learn how to hold it back in certain situations. Wears a mask most of the time, simply because he can and it makes him feel safe and cool. After being severely injured by a monster when he was younger, Ranboo experiences memory problems, and cannot remember his past beyond being brought to CHB. This did however convince him to learn how to fight, and while he’s not the best fighter, he is still a very respected fighter at CBH. His weapon of choice is a sword. He has ridiculous luck, alternating between incredibly good and horribly bad; he once went on a quest and came back victorious, almost completely unscathed, and then promptly fell ill for a week with the flu. He arrived at CHB when he was thirteen after being found by a wandering satyr, horribly injured with no memories of his past or how he got injured. He became friends with Tubbo fairly quickly, and by extension, Tommy as well. Met Phil and became part of the unofficial family, and joins in on their weekly iris messages.

I’ll probably do a few posts like this bc they’re fun, and I really enjoy writing them :) I’m not sure which characters I’ll do next, feel free to recommend any tho! :)
