What was your inspiration for/drew you to writing Skadi and Rela? {Taking a bit of liberty with a mun-directed question about roleplaying.}

ok, it's kinda dumb but most (if not ALL) of my OCs are basically "hey, so I noticed there's no _____ in this fandom" OR "oof I wanna make a self-insert!" *1 week later* "OK, now I gotta make sure they aren't a Mary Sue, so I can introduce them to Tumblr--"

I think most people know this, but Marvel's version of Thor is not a lot like the Norse god Thor. You've got blond, discovering-himself Hemsworth vs. redhead, bulky, fairly aggressive god. Which is fine (I guess, I mean, I LIKE when people accurately depict deities every now & then, but whatever). Norse Loki swings violently between "that funny guy we adopted into our fam" & "guy who pisses everyone off". Sounds similar to Marvel Loki, except the family tree is totally different & Marvel Loki usually only does bad stuff because he's jealous of Thor.

I figured I'd make my own Asgardian, because I'd decided I COULD NOT make my DC OC (whose FC is Tessa Thompson) crossover into Marvel/the MCU. I read about the Norse gods & was attracted to Skadi because 1) I'm a sucker for water/ice supernaturals & 2) she reminded me of Artemis. Short version: Skathi (alt. spelling of the Norse goddess) is a jotunn (Frost Giant) who gets tricked into marrying the Vanir god Njord by Loki. They divorce because he doesn't wanna move to her mountains & she doesn't wanna move to his sea. Oh & she got to marry a Vanir (or Aesir) because Loki killed her dad (sort of). So we've got a rightfully angry, badass huntress of the mountains whose dad dies. I focused on that, but really leaned into her having some warmth that she only shows to animals & those who prove their kind natures to her. My Skadi doesn't use her cryokinesis much because she prefers to rely on her hunting skills & (my HC) Jotunn appreciate resourcefulness.

I'll be honest: I have crushed on Anakin since I was FIVE. I think I liked his hair in Episode III. I read parts of Wookiepedia in middle & high school, just in time for the new movies. I thought "holy SHIT, Jacen Solo is like Jason Todd + Anakin, he'll be so BADASS" but ofc we can't have ANYTHING NICE, so we got...the sequels (& like 30 books being cut from canon). Yeah, well, I still like magic ninjas, so I wanted to make a Jedi.

Initially, I was going to do a version of my DC OC aka make a self-insert, then subtract any Mary Sue-ishness. Nah. I picked one of my favorite SW races, the pretty Twi'lek & looked at my list of Western Zodiac characteristics. I hadn't really made many introverted, bookish OCs, so I made Rela into one. I read all the lore on Twi'leks & looked up how long it takes to go up the Jedi ranks. Once I figured out what her whole timeline might look like, I squooshed her into Anakin's peer group at the Temple :D also I absolutely LOVE it whenever someone can dual-wield blades or handguns. IRL, it takes a lot more skill than people realize. Oh & I love purple (Rela's skin color)! It was a coincidence to find that her RL FC, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, starred in a movie where she had purple hair!

Made a base in the mushroom forest fondly named Soup (so if someone asks where I am I can say I’m at soup), made a seamoth, went to the Aurora, managed to get my seamoth stuck, left to get floaters to try to save it, came back, broke my seamoth, realized I didn’t have a laser cutter and had to leave, come back, do everything there, then go back to base.

Didn’t even hear a Reaper once. Dunno what luck this is but I’ll take it!

Q1 :   if  you  could  write  your  character  your  way  in  their  own  movie ,   what  would  it  be  called ,  what  style  would  it  be  filmed  in ,  and  what  would  it  be  about ?       A1 : It would be called Apollo’s Justice and it would give the most satisfying ending I could think of where he makes his own legacy and isn’t discounted in the process, all while embracing his found family and adoptive family.  At least one implied scene where he kisses his love interest but it’s treated very privately, as sacred as he feels it should be. ... Anime style? Good quality anime.

Q2 :  what  would  their  soundtrack / score  sound  like ?         A2 :  We already have that!

Q3 :   why  did  you  start  writing  this  character ?   A3 :  I have always had characters that are strongly aligned with justice, and lawfully good.  I had the cowboy, and Reinhardt from overwatch, and I always enjoyed how they were written.  Also my multimuse blog that included Luigi failed, so when I found the Ace Attorney fandom as I left it when I was a kid,  I gravitated back, caught up with the games, met the fandom and just... plopped down. 

Q4 :  what  first  attracted  you  to  this  character ? A4 :  His design. How he acts in game. His dumb little blush.  His dynamic with other characters, it was just inescapable.

Q5 :  describe  the  biggest  thing  you  dislike  about  your  muse.         A5 :  He’s really not the brightest bulb at times. Sometimes I worry if I make him too dumb or obtuse.

On to the boys!

- The boys are 2014/2016 Bayverse turtles but are mature adult men. Human age wise they are around 50, but maturity and body wise, somewhere in their 30’s respectively. They do not age the same as humans due to the properties of mutagen and their turtle mutant base type

- This is an AU set several decades into the future- please read the prologue to help understand a little more about the world they live in

- They live in a skyrise, penthouse. With state of the art- Donnie certified level protections put into place. Nothing gets in or out, without his knowing. He does not take the safety of himself or his brothers lightly

- The Boys do not belong to anybody and will not belong to anybody. They are free to interact with whomever they would like, in any way that has been discussed and planned between the two muns.

- They don’t know your muse, nor have had any previous interactions with your muse, and thus are not in love with your muse, or have an established relationship with your muse.

- If you want their love and attention you will have to earn it, just like you would in any other type of interaction

- Absolutely no god-modding. Example: its your 3rd time to respond and you’re attempting to have Leo princess carry your character to bed. This is not a natural flow to the story, and not going to happen.

- The boys may like certain features, or admire certain characteristics, however they are open to all body types, shapes and beings, so long as they feel a connection.

A quick explanation as to what the boys do with their free time in a world that knows they exist.

Leo: “We each found our interests and talents opened up a several viable options that had lead us each to a “unique” position.” Leo led as he gathered his thoughts. “Keep in mind after we managed to stop Krang and those who worked closely with him, the world was vulnerable. As far as my brothers and I were concerned, we had fought too hard and for too long for someone to simply slip into the power vacuum we had created and to continue to harsh reality Krang had created for Earth’s inhabitants. Due to this we each chose to do what we knew how to do and could most easily adapt as challenges presented themselves.”

He paused for a moment as he thought about the hardships, they had each faced and managed to overcome as they slowly helped right the world and returned her to standing on her own. A shimmering blue jewel among the galaxy and other worlds that had become familiar with the planet and its amenities.

“During our years in the resistance we managed to acquire wealth and assets. We were able to accumulate quite the little nest egg using those. Along with our acquired influence it opened many a door which in the old world would have remained not only closed but permanently locked to us.”

“I became a strategic investor. Buying the remnants of properties, businesses and services and either helping them to return to what they once were or repurposing to better suit the needs of this new era and turn a profit. It proved to be very profitable and allowed for me to continue to churn out profits which allowed for me to seek other properties and businesses to invest in or connect the right individuals with each other in away that led to my ability to offer the initial capital for a small percentage of the quarterly earnings. It helped people to create jobs and led to a lot of normalcy for those who desperately needed.

One hand washes the other, and this in its essence has lead to my own sector of the Tartaruga brothers incorporated. I have a multi-billion dollar operation on Earth and several branches operating throughout the universe currently.”

Donnie: “As Leo has said,” Donnie commented calmy, “our time resisting and fighting lead us each to our own talents. I spent a lot of time wearing many hats, which included, chemists, doctor, surgeon, agronomist, engineer, electrician, etc. to put it simply I spent a lot of time learning how to save lives, human and otherwise, and the best way to stretch our available resources in a way which led to people surviving. I also had to learn how to create medications which were so commonplace that many died without having them available. Most antibiotics don’t have a very long shelf life and when those ran out initially, we were in constant jeopardy of losing lives to the simplest of bacterial infections. My knowledge, and subsequent research lead to significant improvements and branching into many other factors, and shall we say break throughs.

Needless to say, the value of others wants, lead to my ability to fund the needs of the many. In my sector, I have several leadings areas including pharmacy, medical research, agrarian development, as well as generalized research and development in multiple fields from domestic to military. For obvious reasons, more detailed information is strictly classified.”

Raph: Raph chuckled as Donnie glossed over his closely guarded research. He was willing to kill to protect his research and continue to control the aspects that allowed him to fund the bulk of his interests and common welfare of those he blanketed with his programs. “They ain’t lying. After the world came back from going to shit, it took awhile to get it back up and going. Additionally, there were a lot of people, generally those not from this world that were way too determined to make sure we failed. This led to a lot of infighting and groups struggling for control. That tends to lead to a lot of shady business if you know what I mean, and it wasn’t like we had any type of social services such as police, fire fighting, or anything else. I initially took charge in areas like these.

I took a lot of care to train groups so that they worked together and were prepared to handle whatever problems came. It took a lot of time to cultivate proper training programs and help prepare people on how to help a traumatized world get back to functioning in a healthy way. I still help do this on planets and areas that are in recovery.”

“That being said however, my primary interest and “job” if you want to call it that, is training mixed martial artist prize fighters for the world federation galaxy league. Simply put we aren’t the only species that likes to watch trained athletes test their skills against one another within their respective brackets, or on specially contracted prized fights. I used to fight for the league and earned a lot of titles and prestige. I won most fights and was often the favorite to win after a while. I’m semi-retired and only occasionally enter the ring now days. However, I take and train promising talents for the league and other groups. I have also trained personal bodyguards for a variety of individuals.  Different specialties come with different specifics and contracts as well as costs. It takes a specific might set for each, and a lot of time to drill into a thick skull.”

Mikey: Mikey laughed at the turtle in red, “Oh yeah, and you were the king of thick skulled back when we were young, and dumb.” He barely dodged the throw pillow that was chucked at his head.  “Let’s see for me personally,” Mikey flashed a big grin, “I happen to be a master of many trades. During our days in the resistance, I learned a lot of different tricks to help make the food rations we had on hand not only palatable but nutritionally sound while feeding a literal army of people! So when it was possible I spent a large amount of time learning how to take fancy old world recipes and revamped them with food sources that were still available or recreated them with off world goodies. I also still paint, and love to collaborate with others to create amazing new concepts!”

His face darkened for a moment as he thought back to the early days of the resistance. “There were so many people who in the blink of an eye had lost everything, and unfortunately it was insanely common to find kids who had either been separated from their families or were the only survivor. In a lot of instances they were traumatized and it took a lot of creative thinking to coax them out of their shells and help to reteach them on how to live. This happened fairly frequently with adults as well. Because of this and what seemed like a never ending shortage of textiles, I had to learn and create new ways to make things and often times help find things that brought the sparkle back to peoples eyes. Because of this however, I have a multimedia conglomerate that allows me to work in a wide area of creative outlets. The fashion world is a flippant mistress, but there are a lot of ways in which one can compete and stand out. It’s led to a lot of lucrative contracts with those who are “starving” for the next amazing piece of creatively, or at least that’s what they tell me. The great thing about taking high end contracts and commissions is that a lot like my brothers, the revenue lets me continue to reach out to others. I fund a program that includes shelters called “Uncle Mikey’s” for those who are missing, exploited, or just need help. I also teach cooking, and practical skills for those who need them, and they are streamed to community centers such as local libraries, after school programs, and the like, to try and continue to help those who never received a chance to learn to do things due to the world kind of going through an apocalypse level event.

What's Ysengrin's IQ? >: D

Hi, mun's here ! Lol I didn't know I would have to reply myself without a drawing so soon, but it's a question impossible to reply in-character. As anachronic as this universe is with a lot of modern elements in it, I doubt they have IQ tests, so they would be extremely confused by "IQ" and stay stuck on it. Furthermore, I never found IQ tests reliable since they can vary and depend only from the selected questions. And ultimately, even if they did know what IQ meant, I don't think the 2 dumbasses would answer correctly since Bernard would probably mock him calling him dumb and Ysengrin would get angry and retort he is smart ridiculing himself in the way

So I think I should reply myself since I have a better omniscient judgement but without using IQ terms : yes I do see Ysengrin as intelligent and more cunning than people think. He only is very impulsive with angry issues (he is a military after all) and can be dumb when he thinks he already won therefore lowers his guards and gets tricked and fooled because his ego is huge and when he thinks he won, he won already in his head so he stops being on the defensive which is a huge flaw. Yet, that aside, we saw he is a great strategist during battle, he can improvise on schemes very quickly, he can manipulate, he knows when to be honeyed and polite, he is fluent in Latin (and according to the original tales was also fluent in English and Dutch), he is tired of dumbasses' shit like Tibert and Brun, until Renart he apparently managed to never let a criminal escape implying he could always outsmart them and apparently has a high education in general such as knowing how to read during a time period illiteracy was common like we see with other characters of his age (though I know intelligence =/= education), and can be a good comedian as well as cunning like during the scene where he pretends to be sad and appalled by Renart when telling the queen it is he who killed the king while not only he perfectly knew it was Bernard as well as it being a huge improvisation and change of plan since Renart escaped and thus being a good framing target not originally planned. Heck, he even sasses Bernard, puts him back in his place verbally, rolms his eyes at him when he is being dramatic and even reassures him assuring him he does know what he is doing as he comes up with a new plan. He basically schemes and makes as many plans as Bernard during the movie

In short, I would say Ysengrin is as intelligent or at least almost as intelligent as Chancellor Bernard but simply prefers acting rather than thinking due to his own impulses as well as his blood lust, but he does know when to calm down and use his brain when really needing so, when his pride towards his "the Captain who would have succeeded in catching Renart" obsession is not in the way

I also HC, like I precised in my headcanon post, he can beat Bernard with chess which enrages the latter lol

Not Starscream from Prime...not Starscream from G1 nope, it to me at least the best Starscream that was every put on scene! Yeah, I said it, best Starscream. 

Why? Because he wasn’t trying to backstab Megatron, he was a very loyal decpticon who care about the cause he was fighting and show time, time, and time again why he was the second in command! When you see him fighting there power and he don’t fall for so many dumb tricks. He smart and when he join the Autobot, he show them how useful he could be. Then he meet the humans and start to show this sweet side of him, and even Hotshot start to like him too. Like this guy if you stop for just a moment and really look at him, he so kind, carrying and want to be a good person.

Even when he dies, he does it to save other, he give his last breath to save cyberton from something awful. Starscream who could have killed Megatron in the fight they had, could have done it and not let him stab him in the spark to make a point, he did that to get him to not just listen but to care about others. Again, in my opition he amazing and they did him so dirty in the rebots like don’t get me stared on that because the animation was crap as fuck. While this was anime so well.

hi, hey, hello everyone my name is pepper and i am very much writing this on three am christmas morning.... oof. but i wanted to pop by and semi quickly introduce my babey before knocking out so!! here we are!! but before we get into her, a bit about me to break the ice! my alias is inspired by the iconic duo salt and pepper and their classic song push it. i am an english major who learned how to spell passivist the other day, yes we exist. i am late to literally everything so me just showing up now,,, can we say on brand?? i am a hoe for pinterest and after i finish this intro i will probably start on bex’s pinterest board! i have never played the sims, rip, i am a hoe for pretty much all reality shows (my faves are bachelor, love island, and the cheesy netflix ones atm) and i am actually a huge scaredy cat! the last horror movie i watched was ready or not which i actually realy enjoyed but i have maybe watched? ten horror movies in my entire twenty four years of life. wild, i know. oh and i use she / her pronouns for anyone wondering! okay, now that that’s out the way, 

BIO.  being intuitive is just like... i don’t like this and no i will not elaborate

bex is actually a new muse and since she’s new to the group i still want her to have a bit of an air of mystery about her so i will not be elaborating too, too much on her backstory but 

actually a twin! i’d like to put in a wanted connection for her twin at some point because i think it’d be fun if they were both involved in the group but yeah, bex is half of a set. if you are interested in the connection hmu < 3

her and her sibling didn’t want for much at all growing up. their parents were pretty well off and so it wasn’t as if they were struggling. the worst thing about their childhood was that they often moved from city to city to support her father’s job. her dad was an author of supernatural and horror books and so he tended to go wherever the inspiration struck. so bex basically grew up in creepy houses and such! whenever her dad solved the mystery of one place nd finished his novel they would move. 

around the time that bex was six they lived in a very specific house. and when they moved from it bex found herself with this power. she is able to feel what people are feeling when she touches them or feel what someone else was feeling when she touches something that they’ve touched. think theo crain from hill house basically. it wasn’t something she was born with though, and since bex was already a pretty cheerful child with a pretty active imagination her mother tried to talk her out of the whole thing. 

bex’s mother was a child psychologist and it was with her help that bex learned that anything she thought she was feeling or seeing was just in her imagination. she was just really empathetic. and sometimes she found herself with imaginary friends. and maybe sometimes she had strange dreams, but this was all very normal. 

bex didn’t really have any choice but to believe her mom as a child. so for years she just ??? went with her powers unchecked, over stimulated and confused and scared. she didn’t deal with it well. and her parents didn’t understand. 

her dad found it fascinating though. wrote a whole book about her. it quickly became a best seller, and bex, his inspiration, pretty quickly became a bit of a celebrity in the horror novelist community. even bex, who absolutely loved attention, hated the whole thing. but she was too young for anyone to listen to her. 

suffice to say, the moment that bex turned eighteen she dipped. specifically she left to go to university. she studied up and got a bachelors degree in architecture. she is planning to get her masters next because she’s really passionate about her field, but well she stumbled into arcane first. 

it was completely by accident honestly. one day she was just living her life as normally as her life tended to get. and the next moment she saw one of their videos. and it was like everything clicked into place at once. she tried to ignore it, she really did, but it wasn’t long until she was seeing them everywhere. until she found herself drawing the arcane inc logo absently in the margins of her notes, or dreaming about the group at night, or mumbling lines of their show to herself when she was meant to be distractedly humming. it was weird, like really weird, and again bex would have brushed it off as nothing, but i imagine that at some point she actually saw them irl. maybe they reached out to her due to one of her father’s novels and bex likely having lived in that house before, or maybe she stumbled upon them completely coincidentally, but bex might not believe in ghosts but she sure believes in the universe. and who is she to say no to what the universe so obviously wants? details tbd sdkjsd

so here she is! having a good time in her gap year between uni and grad school. i’d say she’s been here since?? june of this year and she’s still going strong. she is still a bit skeptical about some things but she’s having a good time anyways.

for someone so smart bex is also dumb. she still thinks that for the most part she’s really empathetic, like yeah she can touch something and tell you how the last person who touched that thing felt but * bex vc * is it really that big of a deal? i mean it’s basically a party trick dkldsklds honestly bex’s mother just really got into her head a child, but she is prety sensitive to things like touch. tends to get cold really easily in places with spiritual energy so catch her wrapped up like nothing else (tends to always have her sweater over her hands in those places). the type to stick to you like glue and touch you like crazy when you’re in a good mood and keep a good distance away from you when you’re in a bad one. she’s pretty good at comforting and cheering people up, but she will not touch you when you are in a bad mood for the most part cause she doesn’t want those vibes?? gets super caught up in other people’s emotions sometimes, and her own and they all tend to blend together. like if you have a crush on someone and you’re in your feels about it and bex touches you she’s like damn do i have a crush on them? do i have a crush on you? are we about to KISS right now? and she will kiss you then tbh she’s big dumb sometimes smh. this is how she gets herself into trouble. 

in love with love and falls in love often and deeply. like she feeds off her partners emotions a lot too so bex is an a plus girlfriend tbh. things never work out though as bex’s partners usually think things are too intense or bex like feels the slightest inkling that they might want to break up with her and dumps them before they can get the chance, rip

@x-de-con-struct-ed-x: Humors me and my dumb shenanigans far too much. Mags was one of the first people I actually followed, and the second person I built up the courage to talk to. Recently I found our first ever thread and it made me so happy to see it again.

@starsabered: ANOTHER mun that humors me far too much, and puts up with my dumb ideas. But their writing is seriously so good, and I’ve been trying my damnedest to incorporate some of their tricks into my own writing. Also their art is just absolutely wonderful, also their commissions are open 👀.

@ifthearmorfits: Opo is just the sweetest, I enjoy interacting with them and all of their muses so much, it makes my day when I see their posts grace my dash.

@coldbloodedcopter: I always manage to forget to respond to our thread, but we have the longest going thread, and I always enjoy reading the responses. Even though I know next to nothing about Vortex, seeing his shenanigans always brighten my day.

@photobombingcryptid: Meme is the funniest oc that I have ever seen and he’s one of the only characters that has made me actually laugh in real life. The mun’s art is INCREDIBLE, and even though we don’t rp too much seeing the havoc Meme brings to the dash is the best.

@heligooddeals: We’ve only recently started interacting after a long time of me just blankly staring and trying to figure out HOW to approach you. But I really enjoy your writing, and I’m excited to see where our threads lead. 

There are many other mutuals I failed to mention, but that would make this list extremely long. But just know, that if I interact with you, even in the slightest, it means I enjoy /your/ writing, it means I enjoy /you/ as a person.

What are your thoughts on the current roleplay trends on here right now?

   Pffffffffffftbtbtbtbtbtbtbt... Lets’ see. Struggling here trying to determine the wall between current things since I was on Hiatus from my other blogs before I fell six feet into Destiny again. I think one of the bigger trends is the... self-post ask thing, for instance? And the ask graphics? 

I think I speak for many when I say Tumblr is an absolute shit-hole when it comes to maintaining their website and its’ functionality, especially in a roleplayer point of view. So cheap tricks like this to try and dumb down the errors and glitchy activity feeds? I’m all for it. 

There was another... ‘ trend ’ going around before I went on hiatus for a couple months though, that was just... no. I rather not go into detail because quite honest, the debate upon whether it was morally okay or not was disgusting. But. I think, as roleplay is a fictional concept of story writing... I think it staying on the fictional side, and being less inclined to be 1:1 to real life events/expectations/standards is... important.

What is it you prefer: angst, fluff, or smut? Why?

J/k! I’m actually a huge angst fanatic. :> This is a combination of being allured to the more complex characters of a franchise, and that I absolutely love the challenge of trying to write emotional turmoil in a way that isn’t so bland. I think, one of the hardest things when it comes to writing is delivering the proper expression or tone in a given situation, and angst is just, ✧ chefs kiss ✧ , a big open sea, welcoming every fish to the barrel.

Now, its’ not to say I don’t enjoy writing other moods, either. In fact, Selene here is one of the first fluffy characters’ I’ve had the pleasure in writing in actual, literal years. My previous cast of muses all having one thing or another absolutely wrong with them. And its’ been such a nice breath of fresh air! I adore her -- never knew I needed her in my life, but here we are -- and I am hooked!

((It’s complicated.  I think I’m doing something different with Rachel than the writers intended, but it’s still compliant with everything we see in canon.

TAWOG fans are familiar with the fact that Season 1 characterization is especially jarring compared to later seasons -- characters are extremely dumbed down (is it “dumbed down” if that’s how they were initially?  idk).  I usually fold that under “Elmore itself knows that it’s a cartoon and sometimes warps things”, so Tobias will remember these events happening, but Tobias as he is now wouldn’t do things like join a deadly “Dumb Race”.

The one thing I’d say I’d straight up delete is something that’s not even part of the series itself -- just a supplementary video from YouTube

My Tobias might have a severe deficiency in Respect Women Juice, but he wouldn’t trick a girl into kissing him))
