Upside: Finally installed my new graphics card! Idk why I stalled for several weeks, that took like 10 minutes and was Very Chill compared to installing a new CPU.
Downside: New graphics card (kind of understandably but I'm still annoyed) doesn't have a DVI-D port like the last one, so my second monitor that only has dvid and vga ports is unusable until I get a vga cable 😔

Sooooo i think my HDD is rotting and dying and it's whats causing all of my issues. replacing the parts i did a year or two ago only kinda slowed down the degrading but its just getting worse now. heres whats going on now:
mouse now randomly teleports on the screen ; diagnosed as mobo issue. you can imagine this makes art difficult.
monitor will pre-set itself to a DVI (titled DVI-0) that doesnt exist. I have to switch it over to a VGA, which also doesn't exist, then back over to DVI (which will now be titled DVI-D) or else my monitor creates a vignette over everything and i cant see the outer parts of my screen.
its slow and crashes very often. every program i have crashes or freezes often. luckily before, my art was not being affected. BUT NOW ive found several of my sketches corrupted and/or just straight up missing.
and i cant fucking afford any of this right now because i just found out that i have boneloss in my jaw and need surgery and a bone transplant donation for $11k that i dont have. like, guys i think im totally fucked and screwed LOL

Double monitor setup!
I've been waiting for a HDMI to DVI-D cable in the post as I got that dell monitor for 30 quid off ebay and it's in a good enough condition and it's resolution is only a bit smaller than my computer's built in screen (it's 1920x1080 and this is 1280x1024). I didn't get a widescreen monitor as they're too distracting (and also wouldn't fit on my desk well) and this is just cooler imo. There's a spec of dirt behind the screen but it's so small it's not noticeable unless you have a bright blue wallpaper. Don't know what to do with the panels though.
